The one thing I can't stand is characterization or speech inconsistent with the time or setting of the roleplay. If it is a 17th-century salon, you shouldn't be saying modern slang or blatantly defying against royalty, unless that's the objective of the RP.

I use a lot of uncommon names, or change their spelling slightly. Sometimes both. My username is an example of this. I also like to use a lot of old Germanic/European names, Spanish names, and Greek or Latin phrases. Guillaume instead of William, Duana instead of Diana, etc.
