Best Villain 2016*
I thought I'd post about this here, because I like you guys and this section of the forum isn't active enough for the moderators to tell me to stop. Oh, and I guess it raises awareness about piracy or some shit.
Last night, I played a tabletop system called 7th Sea, which is a huge departure from the usual fare of D&D, Pathfinder, etc. 7th Sea promotes itself as a swashbuckling adventure game, which turned out to be true. We buckled many swashes, had a naval battle, and saved a monarch from the wicked schemes of one Giovanni Villanova (which we all agreed is the most villainous name ever). It was also the first time I was able to shout "PREPARE TO BOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARD!" without looking like a complete idiot or scaring a cat.
And that was just a one-shot mission. Next week, we're going to start the actual campaign, hosted by our kindly GM who watched The Man in the Iron Mask too many times and decided it would be better with magical pirates. I'll post about it here, when it happens.
