Born into a frigid world, Eri adopted the blanched mane of her parents, keeping her hidden from the savage world around them. Though small, she nurtured a wiry frame through long days of hunting and foraging; when times called for it, she learned to pick up her spear and fight, fending off ferocious monsters that endangered the very existence of her tribe. Swift and unrelenting, she became highly regarded by her peers, forming irreplaceable bonds with her fellow warriors.
As so often as it does in Aelora, tragedy overcame them. One by one, her people were picked off by a skinwalker, a beast that mimicked the injured forms of their fallen companions during winter blizzards, drawing them in so that it could feed once more. The young Eri watched as her friends were consumed by the storms and the horror that lurked within it, desperate to find food. Enraged, she picked up her spear and set out to hunt the beast.
What came next, she could hardly remember. One moment, she was hot on the skinwalker's trail. The next, she was clutching the left side of her face, crawling to her den as she screamed for aid. Fearful that Eri had been taken by the monster like those before her, they locked her out, banishing their proud warrior and leaving her to a harrowing fate.
Confused, dying, and heartbroken, Eri clutched her bloody spear once more and braved the mountains, unsure of the path ahead, but daring it to try and take her if it could.
Abilities
Gifted with foxlike traits, Eri possesses a variety of skills. Though her hearing is not nearly as good as a dog's, she can still pick up small sounds that a human ear would fail to notice. Her sense of smell is much stronger, able to detect a carcass within twenty miles. Upon her hands, she has small black claws that can rend flesh. From the knee down, her legs turn into dainty paws, allowing her to move swiftly and tread lightly. A long and very fleecy tail helps her to keep balance and change directions with great ease. Additionally, it can help to retain body heat during cold weather.
Though she is not yet aware of it, some magic is responsible for her survival in the mountains. Born with the blessing of the hunt, Eri can absorb the strength of her prey once consumed. This strength does not last indefinitely, but it does grant her significant boons.
Equipment
Eri's spear, Lastlight, is made from the teeth of a troll carcass, long dead before they came upon it. It is hardy, but not special.

It is rumored by those who know him that Tarim is a wild ape turned human. Others will say that he has orkish blood in his veins. Whatever the cause, it is certain that he is a madman, flying into battle with little concern for his safety. The sheer thrill of battle propels him forward, and though his actions seem little more than destructive, his methods are effective and his aim true.
He is a part of the Sierrans, a conservation group filled with rangers who help keep the balance of diverse forests in the Nexus filled with dangerous and precious wildlife.
Abilities
Though his appearance is decently human, he possesses elven agility unbecoming of his rage. It is not confirmed, but some suspect that he has some beastly intuition, never seen tripping, taking a misstep, or getting near an unfortunate situation unawares while he's in the wild. The story is much different when he enters a highly urbanized area, becoming a bumbling mess.
Equipment
Every Sierran comes equipped befitting a fantasy ranger enhanced by futuristic technology. Recurve bows made from ancient trees with scoped attachments and compound arrangements, bows with steel tips and digital trackers; few bounds limit the creativity of these two worlds combine, though funding can make equipment scarce.

It took her no time to move out and find a boyfriend who was more than happy enough to introduce her to drugs, sex, and rock n’ roll. Though her parents pay for her beat-up apartment in downtown Sirena, she works a parttime job as a waitress to fuel her extracurricular activities.
Her friends will tell you that she has some relationship issues, but Tara will laugh it off and say no one can keep her on a tight leash.

Blessed with endless enthusiasm, a healthy body, and strapping features, he swiftly raised in popularity in his city as an ideal community figure. Even at home, he inspired warmth and joy to a family otherwise barren from it. In the evenings, he takes care of his nephew, Nathaniel Love, so that his sister-in-law can go to work. They have little in common, but Ernest is determined to become the stoic male figure that Nathaniel always needed, but never had.

Sassy and sarcastic, the woman doesn't let her witchy hobbies define her. Her pale, tattooed skin fades into the background once she opens her mouth, revealing a deep southern accent that belongs somewhere in Louisianna to a jubilant mother making gumbo for dinner and inviting in strangers walking by the veranda.

One particular thing to note is that no one has ever seen Tatiana's face below her eyes, nor is she ever without a hood or a cap. When asked, she evades giving an answer.

Though nothing physically seems out of the ordinary for the woman, she appears to have a rather keen instinct for danger. Whether it's a cleverly hidden snake in a bundle of leaves, a creeping behemoth, or a coming storm, Tatiana often has the idea that something's wrong.

Akkaliss is able to feast upon a variety of negative feelings that haunt the beings that experience them. It keeps her young and vivacious, though enough can also grant her supernatural strength and powers that she has yet to unlock.

Vasco has traveled countless worlds in search of someone long dead, fleeing the suffocating rule of his family to pursue his heart's desire. Though he is no gallant knight, a run-in during his youth transformed him from the entitled, voracious beast he once was. He does not go out of his way to shed blood unless he is enticed, nor does he lack responsibility for his actions.
Abilities
The Correa family line holds two distinct powers. The first is the transformation into the Dip, a massive, smokey black dog that is lame in one leg. The second is a charm, part of which is inherent, always there, making those around him more susceptible to his speech should their constitutions be low enough. The other half of it is forceful and needs to be done with intention, as it turns his target into thralls, blessing them with aspects of his power without having to afflict them with his curse.
Though not specific to the Correa family, enhanced strength, senses, and reaction time are included in their boons. Vasco can also transform into a small blackbird, and though it's certainly not a powerful form, it is useful in traveling long distances. In trade, the typical fatalities from sunlight are present. Though he can survive by wearing clothing to block out the sun, he is robbed of his abilities and becomes weak during the day.

Having delved into a life of fashion and social media, Khepri is a star influencer, always knowing the latest trends, the latest gossip, and also with the most exciting videos one after the other. With a brilliant pair of wings that can get her into spots impossible for other streamers, she gets dynamic, beautifu shots while cruising through a metropolitan wonder or a flowery thicket. Driven to a point of obsession, she always delivers to her viewers.
Abilities
Flight, wind conjuration, and the ability to lull others into a false sense of confidence in her words are all skills Khepri has picked up in her lifetime, either through magic or practical use.
Equipment
Okku, a small, spherical robotic camera with a pair of dragonfly wings that follows Khepri around 24/7 and video streams on command.

Bedridden by consumption in a world just transitioning into its industrial era, Redmond is a boy who glorified adventure and independence, fighting against a corrupt government until he could fight no more. The decision to give his last breaths over to a vampire in exchange for his life was a tough one, but it rewarded him with more than he could ever dream of in the end.
Abilities
From a young age, Redmond was trained in the arcane and put to use his natural abilities in conjuration. Very unfortunately for both him and his enemies, he learned to conjure volatile beasts that eat away at the mind like tapeworms to the gut. Different monsters lashed away at different aspects of the mind, be it the ability to discern reality from fiction, impulse control, spiraling anxieties, or a great deal of other horrid maladies that people are subject to.
Over time, conjuring these creatures took a toll over Redmond's body, afflicting him with tuberculosis and arranging him a swift death. Thankfully, a vampire came along and made him a thrall, imbuing him with the vitality and power of the bloodsucker. Still, the conjured horrors always take something from their summoners, and in the back of his mind, he wonders what next is being sacrificed.
Being a thrall also grants him a scant few other magical skills. He can meld into shadows or transform into a blackbird, much like his sire. Though not as quick or strong as Vasco, he can still take quite the beating, as he feeds from the vampire's essence.
