Your characters would be cadets in the Kargan Union (a military dictatorship), which has opened recruitment to outlanders for the first time since their founding forty years prior.
The RP will contain a healthy mix of social interaction and fighting, either against other students or various monsters/human enemies.
The setting is high magic, and mages are common enough that a squad of soldiers can reliably expect to have both a healer and a battlemage in their ranks, and possibly more than one of each.
The tech level is high middle ages, with a bit of magitech.
Not only is this dark fantasy taking place in a military academy, but I'm not a nice human. If this gets going, you can expect mature content and an 18+ warning.
I'll start whipping stuff together if I get at least five people.
