Dark Souls 3 - Ashes of Ariandel

If you want it explained in song there's this:

Basically Dark Souls is a Third Person Medieval Action RPG that trains the player to use memorisation and caution to get through different dungeons and boss fights... A lot of boss fights, where bosses will have fast and varying move set's that you need to be aware of, avoid and then be able to finding the right opening to deliver whatever blow you can. Meanwhile the dungeons will tend to have a lot of either surprise enemies, or enemies that aggro in massive groups if you aren't careful in how to approach a certain area.

In regards to the RPG side of things, you always pick a starting class and gift (item). The item is always something you can find later on anyways so you pick whatever one feels right, and the Classes aren't Classes in the traditional sense. Rather all characters are stats and abilities are dictated by two things, attributes and equipment. Each class will come with a certain preset of stats and equipment, but you can always increase any stat you desire during your levels so your Warrior can learn to use powerful spells, or your thief might learn to wield bigger weapons and armour. And the equipment like the starting gift can all be found in-game too, so your starting class is more a starting 'build' that you can expand from as you progress. Speaking of equipment, each weapon tends to have varying animations, attack speeds, special attacks etc. So your character style is also largely dictated by your weapon style, rings to enhance your abilities (2 in the first game, 4 in the following two), and what types of spells you choose to teach your guy.

And to level up you have to spend Souls. Souls being your Experience and Gold of the game that you earn from consumable items and killing mobs and bosses, it's your one and only currency that you will quickly learn to treasure and preserve. Mainly because of a certain mechanic where when you die any unspent souls you had on you are dropped, and when you respawn you can only get those souls back by returning to where you died and picking them up. However, if you die again before being able to pick them up? Then your souls are gone forever, which leads to a lot of thrown controllers but does also encourage people to be smart about what they charge into, and evaluate when it might be a better option to head back for now and spend your earnings.

It was a fun DLC,the Sister Friede boss fight was great but the map layout was a little confusing, I felt a little grumpy being forced to move past a couple of unreachable items until later though.
