Favorite Types of Roleplays?

Fantasy, though have been getting a preference to do renaissance or industrial-era fantasy rp more and more frequently, which makes it a pity to me that people do medieval fantasy most of the time.

I just like a role-play setting that allows for variety in tone. Throw in some intense intrigue, dynamic drama, awesome action, and tie it together with facetious fluff, and I think I'll be good. I'm not saying I want the overall tone to be inconsistent, but there needs to be light and dark, comedy and tragedy, light-heartedness and starkness.
