Welcome to Krossavik; the last safe haven and largest effort to restore the once mighty breed of Night Furies. Due to excessive hunting, however, the very last of the Night Fury breed can be found on the island with the exception of one in particular who found his own home and safe haven. Because only a handful of full-blooded Night Furies remain in the world, breeding has been slow and almost unproductive in restoring the breed completely. In recent generations, however, a new breed has slowly been created, spawned from the interbreeding of the last few Night Furies and their close relatives and sub-species; Light Furies.
The divergence of the breeds has given rise to a completely new breed of Fury; the Nightlights, and while they boast a series of similarities to both Night Furies and Light Furies, there are a few potentially fatal flaws in the combinations. Nightlights are drastically diverse in colors and markings, making them easier to differentiate and the combination of Night Fury matte-scales and Light Fury iridescent-scales make camouflage and light-refracting very noticeable, thus presenting them as a greater target to predators. They are also very diverse in temperament and behavior. Since Night Furies are more nocturnal, taking greatest advantage of their dark scales to obscure them from predators in the twilight hours, and Light Furies are diurnal, taking greatest advantage of their light-reflective iridescent scales to refract the light and giving them the appearance of invisibility during the day; Nightlights boast a combination of these traits. Meaning a Nightlight with matte-white scales may have a more nocturnal behavior even if its pale coloring would stand out against the evening sky.
The people of Krossavik are attempting to erase these and other flaws through continuous selective breeding in order to create a new line of Alpha-Class Fury with the understanding that Night Furies and Light Furies are both fading from existence at an unprecedented rate. But they're hardly alone. Dragon Hunters are plenty and many will go to great lengths to proclaim themselves the Exterminator of Night Furies.
Will you join the cause in rebuilding this mighty species? Can you create new breed of Fury before the very last Night Furies are wiped from existence?
While this roleplay takes place in the Dreamworks "How to Train your Dragon" universe, there will be NO association of the riders, enemies, or dragons of Berk. Other breeds of dragons may also be welcome, but this is a roleplay primarily for Night Furies, Light Furies, and Nightlights. I probably will be making icons for fury characters upon request, using the lines seen below, I will only do so for Fury characters and not any other breed of dragon or character.
