[lookin' good, mistah bones.]
Name: Gilles Laveau [formerly Judikael de Gaël
Occupation: Pallbearer [ex-Plutocrat]

Species: Human
Affliction: Zombie (Voodoo variety)
Race: Lutetian
Nation: Tiranoth, now, after needing to flee Lutetia.

Equipment
:
Cursed bell -- Standard Isuue for Pallbearers, Gilles has been given a bell by the Virgobret that, when called by name, wills everything that hears it into death.

All Æternals Deck -- A strange pack of tarot-like cards with magical properties. Gilles can either use them as a thrown weapon with surprising effectiveness [roughly equivalent to a throwing axe, but further effective range] or used with properties specific to the card, called Major Arcana. Use of a Major Arcana renders it useless until Gilles has spent time to restore them through ritual in the Crossroads, while the thrown Minor Arcana seem to never seem to run out despite there being only 36 of them, if counted. The deck debatably has a divinatory use, but Gilles doesn't believe in such superstition.

Of Course, a Gentleman Needs a Hat -- The inside of of Gilles' hat is lined with Mithral, and is strong enough to deflect a standard bullet. Sure, it would leave significant bruising and maybe some slight skull fractures, but he doesn't have enough nerve endings left to care about such.

Abilities:

Destory the Brain! -- As a zombie, most of Gilles' internal organs are vestigial. Even disembodied limbs my be able to act on their own if intact enough. The only way to cause a physical death via normal physical means is by destroying the brain. Similarly, he also has a heightened tolerance to pain, and damage from heat, cold, and electricity has a diminished effect against him. However, his corpse is still human in nature, and sufficient damage to the muscle or bones will still impede or incapacitate him.

The Loa Among Us -- A 'friend', who remains unnamed, which follows Gilles around ceaselessly. It refers to him as "Mister Bones" and seems to feel that it is owed something. It is usually only visible to those that are attuned to the supernatural, where it appears as a blurry, shadowy, floating figure that tends to change what size and shape it vaguely resembles -- sometimes a cat, sometimes a crow, sometimes a human. The only distinguishing feature being two glowing yellow eyes. Gilles will often hand wave it as a poltergeist, and it would likely take someone well versed in voodoo and the occult to determine it's true nature. Gilles is normally the only one that can hear it, as it communicates directly via a spiritual means.
[Pal, we haves such good conversations]

The Hidden Crossroads
-- Gilles is attuned to the world of the Loa, and familiar with how to traverse and interact with their world.

The Major Arcana --
    • The Corpse -- A fool who doesn't know where he's been -- nor where he's going. Allows for the deck to be replenished through a ritual in the Crossroads. Kept separate and safe from the rest of the deck.
    • The Necromancer -- Depicts, among other things, a male necromancer performing the ritual to lichdom.*
    • The Cleric -- Depicts, among other things, a female Cleric of the Monastic order.*
    • The Werewolf -- Depicts, among other things, a woman out in the wild in the midst of a transformation into a werebeast under a full moon. (Sensory buff?)*
    • The Vampire -- Depicts, among other things, a male vampire in an alleyway dominating the mind of his victim and sucking their blood.*
    • The Plutocrat/Puppeteer/Marionette(?) (telekinesis?)*
    • The Deserter(?) -- Allows for short range teleportation. Requires sight to work.
    • The Champion -- Depicts, among other things, a Paladin of the Monastic Order. (some kind of physical buff?)*
    • The Judge/Baliff/Trail/Courtroom/Gavel/Law(?)*
    • The Skeleton Key -- Opens a single lock, seal, or barricade; from mundane to moderately magical. Could feasibly be used to remove Gilles from bindings, restraints, or even holds, but he would have to hold the card in hand first.
    • Chance(?)*
    • Strength/Resolve/Lust/Vengeance/Whetstone(?)*
    • The Oubliette -- the card can be embedded into an opponents shadow, restraining them as if the equivalent part of their body was being restrained by supernaturally strong forces. Disrupting the card from it's resting place or damaging the card will negate the effect.
    • The Guillotine*
    • The Forge -- Turns into a high-quality weapon for up to several hour and gives an increase to the wielder's natural proficiency with it. It can create a simple firearm, but as it only comes with the ammunition loaded in it, it won't be very useful for long.
    • The Sinner/Deal/Contract(?) -- Depicts, among other things, Ténèbre partaking of material pleasures and the fruits of mankind's labors.*
    • The Cataclysm -- Depicts, among other things, scenes of the Necromantic wars. Perhaps the most straightforward Arcana, simply turning the card into a powerful high-explosive.
    • The Calm(?) -- (protection spell?)*
    • The Night/Dark/Question(?) -- (Invisibility?)*
    • The Day/Light/Answer(?)* -- (Healing?)
    • The End -- Depicts, among other images, a group of Pallbearers tolling their bells.*
    • The Beyond/Crossroads(?) -- Depicts, among other things, the river of death flowing into the fertile valley of the living.*
*still needs a power
(?) means I'm debating the name

Relations:
Ferdinand de Gaël -- Kinslayer and backstabber.
??? de Gaël -- Mother, current head of house. Grandmother founded law firm.
??? de Gaël -- Father, deceased. Owned a bank.
Quelana -- the bastard child in care of a witch.
