Basic Info
Name:
Violet 'Vi' Hendriks
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Role: Scavenger/Jury-rigger, Muscle

Appearance
Regardless of being an attractive woman, Vi is not approachable nor known for her friendly face. In fact, everything about her gives off a rather intimidating feel, a shiver up the spine and a sensation of being near a bad seed. She is tall and her body is well-toned, almost on the muscular side, regardless of the years in a world where food isn't plentiful. Her long brown hair is rarely loose these days, it must have been glossy and flowed beautifully down her back once, but in the lack of constant grooming, it is dull and kept away from her face in ponytails or messy buns. Harsh brown eyes seem to observe everything all the time from under a slight frown that seems constantly present.

She has a barbwire tattoo surrounding her right bicep, a flaming skull on the inside of her left wrist, a viper on her right shoulder blade and an intricate tribal tattoo on her lower back which has been forever defaced by a rather large claw mark scar that disappears into her jeans. She tries to keep that one hidden at all times.

Vi wears a beaten brown leather jacket, faded and worn jeans, a cotton tanktop which once was white but now is closer to gray and stained by things best left unclear, and weathered hiking boots. She carries a backpack which she crams full of food, a few changes of clothes and minimal necessities, a fireman's ax and a machete. Violet owns a .38, but has long ran out of ammo. She wears a titanium band around her thumb that she likes toying with, no other jewelry adorns her, though the marks of piercings can be spotted on her right nostril, left eyebrow, navel and all over her ears.

Personality
Vi is a quiet one most of the time. It didn't always use to be this way, but people these days can be unfriendly and fearful of her, creating a certain intolerance. So she keeps her distance lest it turns... ugly. And it has before. Also, people die all the time, so why invest, huh?

She's quick to anger, rather selfish and always looking for a way to benefit herself. If once there was a gentle or compassionate person in her, these days there's little to no traces of it. Unsettling sounds escape her at times and she nearly growls when ticked off.

Vi is always hungry and that makes her moody... DO NOT stand between her and her food, you won't like to find out what she might do. She is very private and besides her last name, people know close to nothing of the woman.

Backstory
Violet Hendriks was raised by her father, not far from Seattle. They came from very humble origins and her mother, Tracy, left them on the first opportunity of a better life when she was only 3 years old. Her father was not an unloving parent, much to the contrary, but he was not a good man. Malcom had a simple garage where he conned people regularly to keep them having to come back to get more repairs done. The place turned into a chop shop after hours, so most of his acquaintances were criminals.

In this loving, albeit twisted, environment Violet grew up without the soft touch of a caring mother. She was more boy than girl, going with her father to his boxing gym where The Vipers, a local gang did business. She started boxing early and bare knuckle street fighting when she hit puberty. And so her brushes with the law began, and only escalated. Growing up in the garage, Vi learned how to fix and scrap cars for parts from an early age. She always had an affinity with mechanics and soon she put it to her advantage in a life of crime.

After illegal fighting and gambling, came robbing cars for radios and other devices. Then stealing the cars themselves. Grand theft auto landed her in juvie, and later on, her gang affiliations and the illicit activities of her father took her to jail. She was shipped to a female facility at 21 and her father to a worse male correctional one... It was the last she saw of him as he never made it out. It was a hard blow on Violet to lose her only loved one and jail life did not make it any better. As a repeated offender, her sentence was long, and her crappy lawyer didn't help at all.

Then all hell broke loose. The plague hit and as things became chaotic. With the widespread panic, the warden and guards abandoned the convicts to a horrible fate in their cells. It nearly was the end of her... Until a few days later the power went out and the cells opened. It was havoc. Those that, like her, didn't succumb to thirst, hunger or despair tried their best to escape. Those that did... Ran after them. Straight out of a nightmare situation they were hunted and torn apart by old prison mates turned zombies.

By sheer luck, and lack of morals, Violet was one of those who made out. Of course, out was even worse. She and a few others were lucky enough to make it to town and hunker down in abandoned houses. Vi's less than ideal upbringing made this new world one she was fully equipped to deal with, companions were found and soon she ran with a tough crew. She was convinced that it was her lucky day when she spotted the army base. That is... Until the howls hit their ears.

Primal fear took them at the unholy choir of wolves and her group got split up. Together with Amy, Michael, Brian and Frank, Violet went on a mad dash through the woods towards the safety of the Base's walls. Not all made it. Brian got torn apart by wolves as Vi and Michael unloaded their guns. Then... That thing came their way, huge, furry, inhuman. A monster. It slashed her back and bit into Michael's neck. With the man's shrill screams at their backs, the other two helped Vi escape. Scattering howls sounded all around and suddenly an armored vehicle was upon them. That's when she passed out.

When Violet woke up, she found herself no safer. For days she had been unconscious, succumbing to fever. They didn't deem her worthy of wasting too many resources, so left her, bound, to make through or not. On the third day she woke, healthy and healed. A military base in the middle of a plague was the worst place possible for that to happen. The horrors she lived through were soon enough cut short when it happened... She was the monster now...

Since then, Vi has been secretive and reserved, doing everything for safety, but eventually moving on when it all inevitably goes to hell. As history proved, she is nothing if not a survivalist.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
1) Muscle: Vi is strong and capable in a fight. She can take quite a beating and functions well as a meat shield, if nothing else, but her melee and unarmed combat skills are not to be underestimated.

2) Tracker: Combined with her ability to track by scent, Vi has learned how to track, both in urban and wilderness.

3) Underworld Knowledge: Vi has many useful criminal skills, and knows how to identify gang marks, sometimes being able to lead people into Gang hideouts and caches of useful things.

4) Vi is pretty handy with machinery and can sometimes get things to function one last time even when others would deem it beyond any use. An asset especially with cars.

Weaknesses
1) Silver: The metal, like in the myths, is a deadly weapon against her and she will not regenerate from it like from other wounds.

2) Heightened Metabolism: With the peak condition and supernatural abilities comes a rather severe drawback. Vi is always hungry, and needs larger amounts of food to function properly.

3) Cursed: Vi gives out a vibe that is just wrong and she has difficulties to deal with people, coupled with her propensity to anger quickly, she is usually a pariah, kept around only due to her usefulness. Vi can possibly spread her curse, much like she was inflicted with it.

4) Zombie Catnip: To make matters worse, the living dead seem particularly attracted to Vi and try to get a nice mouthful of her at any chance.

Powers and Abilities
1) Heightened Senses: Vi sees well in the dark, hears better than a human and frequencies only animals can, tastes things most do not notice, but definitely her best sense is of smell, she can track like a dog.

2) Supernatural: Vi is stronger and tougher than a regular human, but much more when she changes shapes, which she is capable to do in two different manners, to a wolf, and to a monstrous hybrid capable of causing horror to all who see.

3) Regeneration: Vi heals much quicker than a human and can recover from otherwise mortal wounds, provided she can rest and it is not in an extremely vital part. She cannot regrow body parts or anything, but coupled with her natural immunity to diseases and poisoning it is quite a desirable trait to survive the Apocalypse. Cannot contract the Plague.
