Humanity's Stargazer
Praetoria: City of the Damned
"You woke late. Time is of the essence. Begin."
Everybody's story here is the same. We all die in the end. Now, you're living. We all have woken up here, alone, somewhere in the city. Who were we? Why are we here? How do we get out?

But death is only the beginning. Those of us who were killed before our time arrived here, in this strange city, with nothing. Not even a single memory or scrap of our lives on Earth. Now is not the time to dwell on the past. It's a race against time and God himself. What were the consequences? The billions of failures living in the city could tell you. They act as if they live, going to school, making friends, working, and working, and... working. The soulless forgotten fill the city, they were too late.

Time is unending for those in Praetoria. Those who go to school, go to school. Forever. Those who work, work. Forever. Not that they mind. They have become husks of their former selves, lost in an unending world, with no memories, no sense of repetition, with only a singular motive: live. They are those who have been killed before their time, yet failed to remember in time.

The punishment for those who fail to remember their deaths within the first year of their arrival, is the condemnation into an eternal soulless body. Everybody has a story to share here, its only a matter of finding it. Triggers, events or objects that provoke recollection of a memory from the past, are located throughout the city. Little fragments of memories to be decoded and understood, in the pursuit of the cause of their death and what they most desired at the time of their death that release them from the unearthly city. You all are reborn, or you all fail in his game.

Synopsis:
You have been killed before your time. Because of this you have been brought into Praetoria, a truly worldly city, without any of your memories, which is also the deciding ground between reincarnation and forever damnation as a soulless husk of a body. The city is incredibly dense and populated as such, it is reminiscent of the Greater Tokyo Area's size and denseness, albeit twice as large. You must traverse Praetoria to find yourself again.

You must remember how you died and what you most desired at the time in order to reincarnate. You cannot do it alone. The other self-aware that you encounter have significant ties in your life which you must understand in order to fully remember your past. You and your web of connections must all remember to incarnate into Earth again.

While in the city, you hold responsibilities corresponding to your real life that you must fulfill to a certain degree. These responsibilities will certainly help you find the triggers but primarily slightly decrease <Suspicion>.

Suspicion is a factor that affects the soulless living in the city. When it rises, either due to neglect of responsibility or recollection, the behavior or the soulless towards the self-aware become increasingly hostile. As the self-aware nears recollection, suspicion grows exponentially as the number of people remembering at once grows. They will try to kill you. If you die, you will be abandoned, forever among the husks.

Beware the others and the hunters. Other webs of connections compete against you in this game of life and damnation, only one can truly escape. The hunters are biased skilled strategists that have been spared long ago, and may choose to either aid a web or sabotage them, one can never know the true motives behind a hunter, but it is said that they seek a way back to Earth. In reincarnation, you return with fragments of your experience, find those who traveled this journey with you.

All of this, in a year of your arrival.
Work quietly
Seek diligently

The hand ticks forward with prejudice.
