CHARACTER BIO: Madame Rust

General:

Name: While her true name is Nissa, this name has been lost to time. The few who do know it dare not use it, and most cower in fear and run when they hear it. At its worst, it is a death sentence. At its best, Nissa is the darkest myth you have ever heard.

For years now she has gone as Madame Rust, the remnants of her life as Nissa almost entirely covered up and repressed, hiding behind a name as vague as the woman herself.

Age: Unknown, though Nissa likely died around the age of 17, making her rebirth as Madame Rust perpetually stuck at the age of 17 (though this is wildly false).

Appearance: A tall, slender woman (if she can be called that), the Madame is a woman cloaked in mystery. She wears a long dress, in shades of silver and black, which trails behind her like a train. It leaves sparks behind it when she walks. Her sleeves are ripped in places and underneath her skin has a faint silver glow, with cogs and gears tattooed on her flesh. Her chest is covered by a thick, latched metal corset which in the back is locked by a padlock and a key- the wind-up kind. This key must be wound each day or the Madame's temper is lost: her carefully maintained lack of emotion broken. Her neck is laced with pieces of metal, and half of her face is replaced with robotic gears and wires which surround her silver eyes. Her dark hair frames her pale glowing complexion, giving her a glimmer somewhere between a fairy and a robot.

Weapon: Madame Rust abhors "violence," instead considering her attacks as "improvements." She hates blood and attempts to avoid it an cost, using the combination of set of surgical tools and heated blades to set the wounds.

Background:

Early Life: Born as a human child, Nissa was a lovely and happy girl. She grew up in a wealthy family until one day she was kidnapped and forced to work in a factory. In her early life, before this event, she spent most of her time tinkering with mechanics alongside her father. She witnessed an accident when she was young and gained a hatred of blood and frail human bodies, finding them weak and inefficient.

Factory Life: In the factory, Nissa attempted to rebel and used her skills to break machinery whenever she could. Locked away she was the victim of constant abuse, yet attempted to keep her spirits up. One day, after a fight with the factory's director, she fell into the wheels of a machine, crushing parts of her body and leaving her disfigured. Unable to take her for help due to her status as a kidnapped elite, she was locked away in a dark room to fend for herself.

Using her skills, she painfully replaced her body with metal and gears, creating a type of clockwork body. Unfortunately, during this process she died, yet was able to convince Death to give her a second chance, trading her soul and humanity for life itself.

Transition to Madame Rust:
Madame Rust slowly overcame Nissa: at first Nissa (still locked away) simply fell to madness, but soon Madame Rust came to hate her other self. Molding herself into a cold seductress, Madame Rust sealed her emotions deep away, making more and more deals with dark forces to allow herself to replace more and more of her body.

One day, Madame Rust took her revenge, slaughtering all who had imprisoned her. She vanished into the night and became a legend.
