Grancello
Species Description: A Grancello is a colossal bird, with heights ranging from 50ft to 500ft. Their wingspans are normally double their height. Some have brilliantly coloured plumage, though all with one colour theme. Most Grancellos have feathers coloured in different browns. These birds usually live in the largest of forest clearings, or on top of large mountains, or some even find ways to drain lakes to live inside them. They are carnivorous, and many have a favourite food in large mammals. The oldest ever Grancello was 1800 or so years old, though most Grancello's only live to be 1250-ish. They reach maturity between 100 and 150. Most Grancellos have bodies like birds of prey, with sharp talons, strong legs, impressive hooked beaks and imposing bodies. Their size is a hinderance more often than not, and they rarely fly as it is a waste of energy and takes them far farther than they needed to go. Many Grancellos live lonely lives, only moving to hunt. Grancellos have no set attitude; some are very cruel, whilst others are gentle giants, and some are wise scholars. They have the power of speech, but rarely use it. Females are normally larger than males, and also tend to live longer by one hundred years or so. They tend to have incredibly powerful eyes. Most have tails like Golden Eagles. Very few Grancellos have complete control over their emotions.

Appearance: Toebo is a Grancello with dirt-brown and chocolate-brown feathers, with flickers of dark yellow through his wings and underbelly. He has an orange-yellow hooked and sharp beak and similar talons. He holds himself straight and proud, chest puffed out. He is 200-or-so feet tall and has a wingspan of around 400 feet. Toebo has big dark eyes that can appear quite frightening due to their huge size, but a close look at them show that there is a thin ring of bright yellow around the edge, though most of his eye is pupil. He enjoys spreading his wings out and covering the ground below in shadow. He finds it difficult to fully clean himself, and there's often little bits of dried blood on his body that he hasn't realised are there. He has a golden-eagle-like tail which is coloured much darker than the rest of his feathers. Unbeknownst to him, many animals hide under his tail when he sits still, as it is good protection and hides the animals from other predators.
Personality: Toebo is, at his very roots, kind. However, your first encounter with him would not at all give that impression. At first sight, he sees everything as prey, and he is not kind with his prey. This reveals a very cruel and somewhat evil side to him, as he enjoys to toy with them. He sees anything that doesn't talk as something for him to eat, and due to first reactions, he tends to try and eat everything first and ask questions later. If something speaks to him, he instantly treats them with respect, turning from his cruelty and becoming a gentle giant of sorts. If he has already tried to eat them, he is pushy with his apology, often trying to make up for it in gifts of food or protection. For those that can forgive him, he is loyal and holds his friends to great standards, protecting them and helping them whenever he can. Of course, anyone who befriends him will have to deal with not only his merciless hunting, but also how easily emotions affect him. When angered, he lashes out violently, slamming his wings against the ground and knocking down whatever comes at him. When frightened, he lets out a screech that can be heard from ages away. When hit by adrenaline, he becomes excited and somewhat unpredictable, which is usually why he doesn't rise up to go hunting. He is his happiest when flying, quite childlike in the way he soars to see how high he can go, the nosedives downwards and stops himself just before he hits the ground.

He can cover large distances easily, and a flap of his wings creates incredibly powerful winds. He can survey entire fields with a single turn of his head, as well as whatever else you would expect to come with large size.
