General Timeline
Saurias was a land that was prosperous and free. In this lands lived a thriving population of mighty beasts known as Dinosaurs and clever creatures known as human living side by side. The two lived together since the beginning and through cooperation they have made Saurias into a vast and green land of many millions of people and dinosaurs alike, settled in dozens of city states scattered throughout the land. For many centuries there was peace and the land was green and fertile throughout Saurias. However everything must come to an end. A century ago, a powerful and ambitious Carcharodontosaurus Warlord began a conquest of extermination and domination throughout Saurias. Hundreds of thousands of warriors marched in the name of the Warlord Meljis and took many cities, killing hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians alike and enslaving the tens of thousands of survivors.
It wasn’t until the free cities of Saurias had banded together to form one united government and forged an unsteady alliance with the Wilderness Tribes to the north and south of the Civilized Lands in order to keep Maljis from passing around the mountains and in return the Free Cities would deliver the tribes plenty of money in order to sustain the contract. For the next few decades, skirmishes and battles continued where the Meljis’s army had been stopped, turning the area barren and cold. This divide is called No-Man’s Land as in its current state, no man can truly live in this area.
For over a century the war between the Free Cities and the Wilderness Tribes against the forces of Meljis have continued at a steady pace, with each skirmish adding dozens of bodies to No-Man’s Land. However some time ago, an important Civilized Diplomat was transporting the annual tribute of gold and gifts to the Tribes but had disappeared, leaving evidence that the Tribes had killed the Diplomat and her escort as well as stolen the tribute. The Tribes denied straining the delicate relations between the Wilderness Tribes and the Civilized and soon after connections were severed and without the tribes’s vigilant watching the mountain passes to the north and south, Maljis was able to pass through with little resistances. From there, the Warlord began to tear a path of blood and death through the civilized world, forcing many to find refuge to the major cities, ironically leading Maljis to his next targets.
Plot
Desperate to beat back the warriors of Meljis, the Council of Free Cities has sent a call of recruitment to the citizens of the Free Cities of all standing in order to launch an expedition to the Wilderness in order to secure the northern and southern passes in order to keep Meljis's forces from pouring in from either flanks. A special force has also been formed in order to protect the tribute on its way to the Southern Wilderness.
Humans and Dinosaurs
Humans and Dinosaurs live side by side for many centuries with humans using their intelligence to build cities and farmland and Dinosaurs using their various abilities to assist the humans in gathering resources, hunting, farming and building. However despite this, dinosaurs are not as naturally intelligent as humans. They start out as wild as wolves, and as intelligent as dolphins, but are not truly self aware like humans. It is only by spending years with humans for them to eventually achieve true sentience, marked by a complete awareness of themselves and their surroundings. Dinosaurs are unable to speak, but smaller theropods and Pterosaurs, can speak human language and translate.
As for humans, humans are split into four categories. The Civilized, who live in the territory of the Free Cities. The Cultists of Maljin, who live in the territory of the Badlands and the Northern and Southern Tribesmen, who live in the Northern and Southern Wilderness respectively.
The Cultists live very militaristic lives, with the strongest and most clever warriors rising through the ranks. They live in cramped settlements, with those who can work being allowed to leave to work in the fields or in skilled labor positions, with only the soldiers being able to read and write. When a citizen of the Badlands reach the age of 14, if they are a boy then there is a 1 in 2 chance, 1 in 5 chance for a girl, that they will be conscripted to be raised and brainwashed as a warrior cultist of Maljin, their Warlord and God of Murder. The Dinosaurs primarily found alongside the Cultists of Maljin are carnivorous or aggressive herbivores such as Raptors, Rexs, Therizinosaur, but mostly Carcharodontosaurus as they naturally flock to the powerful warlord. Cultists lack the facility nor the skilled labor to make steel weapons on a large scale so they primarily use iron weaponry, armor and tools.
The Civilized of the Free Cities live more free lives, with the ability to choose and decide what they wish to become, if they are skilled enough to specialized in their chosen task that is. All are educated in both reading and writing as they are given public education provided by the Council of Free Cities. The Civilized Worship 5 gods, each one represented by a Dinosaur. Ondo the Caihong Goddess of Beauty, Zervad the Troodon God of Knowledge, Kutod the Styracosaurus Goddess of the Elements, Gigrod the Allosaurus God of Justice and Bruju the Oviraptor God of Life and Death. The Dinosaurs primarily found alongside the Civilized are a mixed group of all dinosaurs as any dinosaur willing to work alongside the civilized are welcome in the nation. The Free Cities retain their industry and knowledge of metallurgy allowing for steel to being the default material for their weapons, armor and tools.
The Tribesmen of the Wilderness are generally isolationists living in dozens different tribes, with different cultures ranging from slightly divergent to outright different from each other. The tribes of the Southern and Northern Wildernesses both live in different ways as the northern tribes live in larger nomadic tribes, and usually hang around the coast to fish, catching mammoths and other animals of the north to make their clothes while the southern tribes live near the middle of their forests to hunt for meat and forage as well as to stay hidden from the outsiders. The Tribes have dozens of different gods that they worship, ranging from Dinosaurs, to spirits even to idols and statues so they don't really have a standard form of religion. The Dinosaurs that are commonly found with the Northern Tribes are Pterosaurs and larger carnivores while the Southern Tribes commonly live with herbivores and small Theropods. The Tribes primarily use bronze in their weapons while using leather and bone for their armor, as they lack the knowledge and skill to make anything more due to a lack of literacy and formal education.
Common Jobs
Simply Jobs that are common within both human and Dinosaur societies. However due to the fact that dinosaurs come in many different species, some are more suited for tasks then others while some dinosaurs are literally incapable of doing tasks that others do. Note that the occupations are simply common for the dinosaurs of those type, but if you have an occupation that is different then please explain how that happened and why that is.
