So... I left a conversation and pressed ignore future messages on it. How do I fix it and get back in?

It is also the conversation that goes to the inbox, not to the chat.

As far as I know there's no way for you to rejoin it on your end. When you choose that option it effectively deletes it from your inbox. In most forum platforms that don't support multi-user PMs, it would just be called delete.

Depending on who initiated the conversation or if the setting was checked to allow people to invite others into it, it may be possible to ask the other person (s) to invite you back into the conversation, but I'm not positive this will work. I've never tried it.

I'll experiment with it tomorrow.
