It was roughly an hour long bus ride from the spaceport to the Processing center. Inside the bus were a dozen other recruits, like Orion each one of them had been processed by their recruiter before shipping out.
Once the bus had reached the training center, there were a line of drill sergeants, their dark grey uniforms and black jackboots gave the, a rather intimidating feel to them.
Standing center was an attractive red headed woman in a light blue uniform, the uniform of the Imperial Defense Force.
As each recruit stepped off the bus, they were lined up by matching their names to large chests that contained their uniforms, spare underwear, the Codex Imperium, and the Imperial Military training manual.
Once everyone found their place to stand, the woman cleared her throat.
"Recruits, Aten-hah!" She shouted and the sergeants closed in, forcing everyone to stand at attention.
The cacophony of shouting, screaming, and cursing filled the large plaza the recruits had been made to stand in, Orion's training was officially beginning.

Orion immediately stood straight up in a salute eyes straight forward as he's practiced many times before this occasion. He didn't want to screw up anything and make a fool of himself so he did a lot of rehearsing on his home planet of Troy, Orion even had a army manual book which he studied before signing up for the military, he was prepared to bring honor to his name and earn his family some cash at the same time.
____
There was an oppressive foreboding silence as the redhead inspected each and every one of the recruits. Looking to their chest, and then up at them. She was flanked to her left and her right by a pair of sergeants.
Her eyes flitted to each and every recruit, she was inspecting them, one by one.
Once the redhead reached Orion she made a face.
"Recruit Leviger!" She screamed, her voice shrill and commanding.
"Stand at attention!" She barked, and the pair of sergeants started screaming, both of them at the same time. Though most of their screaming was unintelligible, they were demanding Orion scream "Aye sir."
As soon as the redhead raised her hand the Sergeants went silent. "Why did you decide to join my beloved corps!?"
____
Orion was nervous deep down but didn't show his slight fear as he stood up at attention and spoke with all the respect he could gather "Ma'am, I've joined your corps to bring honor to my name and support my family!" he exclaimed with the utmost sincerity speaking in a clear voice. He held his position not daring to move an inch in fear he would upset her.
____
The redhead paused, and then scoffed at his reponse.
"Bullshit!" She barked. "You want to bring honor to your family? You become a gods damned doctor." The woman shouted, spittle flying in his face.
The woman turned abruptly back to the front of the group. "Sergeant Townley, you have the recruits." She called out, and the sergeant to her right, an imposing Tal'dorian saluted.
"Sir, Yes Sir!" He shouted, and the woman turned to leave.
The man then walked back and fourth in front of the recruits.
"I am Sergeant First Class Lawrence Townley, your senior Drill Instructor, from now on you will speak only when spoken too, and the first and last answers out of your filthy mouths will be sir, Do you maggots understand me!?"
The recruits shouted in sync. "Sir, Yes Sir."
"In this barracks, you will find your racks, carry your chests into your racks, and change into your uniforms. You have one Millicenton! Move!" The Sergeant barked, ordering the recruits into the large building, which housed rows of bunk beds. Each recruit picked up his chest, the heavy container weighing heavy on them, as they ran into the building, finding bunk beds once again matching their names.
____
Orion simply wiped the spit off his face and moved on following the instructions and strapping on his pack ignoring the hefty weight on his back. He wasn't going to let anyone or anything get in his way as he was determined beyond any means to prove his worth around here, Words meant nothing to his ego and his determination is what would get him by in this harsh boot camp. He stood by the bunk that read his name standing up as straight as he could with the hefty pack on his back.
____
Sergeant Townley had found himself walking up and down the rows of bunks. Everyone was now in their uniforms, dark grey BDUs with boots that were expected to be polished, and everyone was standing at attention.
Sergeant Townley came up to Orion, inspecting him with a keen eye. The comment that he wanted to bring honor to himself stuck, and the Sergeant looked to a large poster of Emperor Mollem McGregor at the end of the room.
"In the Imperial Marine Corps you bring honor to one man, Recruit Leviger." The Sergeant shouted.
"Who is that man!? Recruit, Leviger!?"
____
Orion noticed the Sergeant looking at the poster and quickly chirped up hoping to correct his last mistake and regain some respect "The Great Emperor sir!" He saluted holding his straight up position as best he could, The pack began to weigh on him overtime but he of course ignored this feeling. The best thing he could do in any of these situations was to ignore the discomfort and move on.
____
"That's correct." The Sergeant replied, but he was quickly cut short by a pair of Military Police officers, their black armbands denoting who they were.
One of them approached the Sergeant, whispering in his ear, the sergeant nodded. "I understand." He said, before he, and both the MPs turned towards Orion.
"You don't belong here. You're in the Penal Battalion." He said, nodding while the other recruits made subtle faces.
"These men will escort you to the Penal Battalion, at the Processing center." He said, gesturing to the MPs, whom motioned for Orion to follow them.
____
Orion eyes narrowed a bit and sighed as he nodded to the Sergeant walking over to the MP's as they gestured him. He most forgot that he robbed somebody and was sentenced to the battalion, What else was he to do though?, His family was hungry and he had no other way to support them. No matter what happened though he was going to do whatever it takes to try to fix his name and come out of this alive.

Following the thorough inspection, and transportation of the Aeniad The crew, or rather all nonessential personnel were invited to disembark from their vessel for a much needed vacation, courtesy of the Imperial navy. They were provided first class shuttle service from a high-security military shipyard on the edge of the system, towards the central planet. The imperial world of Tal'dor.
Tal'dor is a fairly wealthy Imperial world, the center of the navy's prestige, as well as its headquarters.
New Hypatia City is a sprawling Imperial city, gleaning skyscraper stretch hi to the planet sky, wide open streets are filled with traffic. The air was clean, with a slight cool crisp breeze. this breeze was coming down from the mountains that surround the city, bring the temperature down to a cool 60°. The Softbreeze pull the air out of the city, and out into the bay. Out here fishing vessels, as well as military training vessels dotted the bay.
The Crew of the Aeniad was greeted by Admiral Èclaire Hanley, an attractive red headed woman with a slender figure and a stark blue uniform. As the crew were shown from their vessel, she and a small contingent of imperial Marines were there to greet them. Inclining her head slightly she offered a smile.
"Welcome to Taldor." She said, nodding. "I will be your host, while your ship undergoes repairs."
"Welcome, to the United Aschen Empire." She added.
