Mememan 2017
Character by Zul'Zae'ju'Jin

Name: Flaxel
Age: Looks to be in his late 20's
Birthplace: Hexworthy, Devon, England. Recently moved...

Species: Devon Pixie
  • Strengths: Drawn to helping those who deserve a good turn, good with horses, agile
  • Weaknesses: Bells as they shatter his charms and illusions, inability to stop himself from causing some kind of mischief even if it is deserved, perfectionist, too much sugar
  • Idle Traits: Dances or sings, even in his spare time. Uses his pixie charms to mask his appearance and spends an insane amount of time perfecting the illusion. Can never get it quite right though...
Occupation: Travelling performer, usually circus work and usually with horses in his acts.

Height: True Height: 2'2, Illusionary height: 5'8
Weight: (who knows) Illusionary weight: 140 pounds
Appearance: Click Me In his true form, his features are vastly more child-like, Elvish features more prominent with pointed ears and soft round edges. He also has Bumblebee-like wings in his true allowing him to flit place to place more than actual flight. For actual flying, he's pretty useless, he is unable to keep sustained flight for long as it uses a lot of energy for him unless he has a high sugar diet. Then interesting things happen.

In the form he uses for human company, he's a lot taller and lithe. His frame is lightly built, certainly no bruiser as he reminds folk more of a beanstalk but he is not without grace of his stature. Most might say he had the elegant edge. He wears simple clothes that usually consist of trousers, motif shirts, and flip flops. He sometimes wears converses if he has to. He generally prefers being barefooted. His hair is always long in both forms and is blonde. Sometimes he lets it loose, other times it's either braided or tied back. He has yet to perfect hiding his pointy ears. There's always a certain bounce to his stride, light-footed usually and this is possibly due to his true form having wings than anything else. No markings on his face.

History: Flaxel has lived a long time since his coming of being back in the forests of his people's home of Devon. His childhood was full of play and mischief before 'settling' down to the more adult pursuits of watching the mortals go about their daily lives. He never really partook in the education the humans provided being home schooled. He stayed in Devon for a long time, watching and playing, helping quite a few humans with their issues though perhaps in unexpected ways as belief changed over the decades on the matter of Pixie folk. The belief stayed the strongest in the West Country and since the Bells of Otteri, nothing was quite the same. One day during the year they were allowed to roam freely and Flaxel often spent it laughing, singing, dancing and riding the fat bellied Dartmoor Ponies.

After some time, long since the Bells turned into legend than myth, he took more interest in the lives of humans. It was always a thing for Pixies. It wasn't unknown for them to change their appearance and marry a human. He longed for a change of scenery. It was not long before he put his dancing skills to use. He joined a traveling circus and instantly loved it. The circus provided a place for strange little misfits wanting to see new places during their performance. It grew into a second home.

Family: All happy in Devon except for a few that have gone their separate ways.
Personality: Chatty, warm and sociable. He's not afraid to be himself despite his illusions. He sees it as flattery. He wants to be everyone's friend but knows when something deserves aid and when something deserves a comeuppance. He's gentle and kind, and like most Devonian Pixies, he has a way with animals. He's a bit of a soul searcher in some respects but not in the sense that is traditional for most of his kind.
  • Strengths: A good listener, compassion, never complains about life's problems. He's not afraid to be true to himself.
  • Weaknesses: Sensitive to really loud noises that clang - mostly bells which makes any local churches an issue, too strong a perfectionist and tries too hard.
Likes: Animals, dancing, singing, nature, accents (he finds them really fascinating, not above imitating), theater
Dislikes: Mean folk, bells, shoes (though he has learned to compromise), long books - he finds reading difficult.
Hobbies: Creative arts such as dance and music. He often visits any concern or show available to him at the time.
Goals: To be able to look fully human. He may also consider finding a job a little more permanent in the city in the performing arts.

Other:

Have e’er you seen the Pixies, the fold not blest or banned?
They walk upon the waters; they sail upon the land,
They make the green grass greener where’er their footsteps fall,
The wildest hind in the forest comes at their call.
They steal from bolted linneys, they milk the key at grass,
The maids are kissed a-milking, and no one hears them pass.
They flit from byre to stable and ride unbroken foals,
They seek out human lovers to win them souls.
The Pixies know no sorrow, the Pixies feel no fear,
They take no care for harvest or seedtime of the year;
Age lays no finger on them, the reaper time goes by
The Pixies, they who change not, nor grow old or die.
The Pixies though they love us, behold us pass away,
And are not sad for flowers they gathered yesterday,
To-day has crimson foxglove.
If purple hose-in-hose withered last night
To-morrow will have its rose.

Name
: Tamara Williams
Age: 23
Birthplace: West Texas

Species: Centaur, a creature with the top half of a human and the bottom half of a horse. Specifically, in Tamara's case, a Clydesdale.
  • Strengths: Tamara is fast, with her max speed beating that of the average car, and heftily strong thanks to her draft horse bottom.
  • Weaknesses: Most establishments are built for more...ah...slighter occupants, causing the occasional clumsy incident to arise. Additionally, most modes of transportation don't account for the four-legged citizens.
  • Idle Traits: Tamara's constantly moving, whether it be tugging at her hair or stomping a hoof. She can never stand to sit still.

Occupation: Proud owner of the Lucky Shoe diner. It's a small eatery with few customers, but that does little to damper the effort Tamara puts in her cooking. She dreams of one day making it big, but for now she does what she loves and works for it.

Height: 7'11"
Weight: 1,887 lbs (Not that she'll say if asked, mind you)
Appearance: The human portion of Tamara is that of a woman with dark skin dotted with the faintest of freckles with a mane of dark curls usually tied back. She holds a shapely frame, with muscles noticeable on her arms. Her eyes are a bright russet, with a certain fire that tends to flicker and flare with her moods, and her expressive eyebrows tend to be furrowed with concentration. A bad habit of staying up late at night has led to dark circles forming under Tamara's eyes, but she's quick to dismiss any notion of concern.
Tamara's equine half is that of chestnut Clydesdale, a working horse known for their large size. She's stocky, but muscular, often taking up much space in any room she occupies. Splotches of white cover her underbelly and hind, with the gathering of white fur around her legs going up farther than average.
Tamara's wardrobe favors sensibility over style. Outside of her Lucky Shoe uniform, Tamara tends to wear plaid shirts and light jackets. Whenever she's out, Tamara wears a harness that doubles as a bag to carry around her things.

History: Her biological parents unknown, Tamara was adopted and raised by a kindly human family living on a ranch. Her childhood was a cheerful one and seldom was she bothered with being the odd one out, despite some teasing for her more equine appearance. When she turned 21, she moved out to pursue her dream of opening her own restaurant. Henceforth, the Lucky Shoe was born. And while Tamara is still figuring things out, she knows damn well that nothing's gonna stop her from trying.
Family: Tamara's biological parents remain a mystery. Her foster family consists of her parents and her three brothers, Rafael, Eddy, and Marcus. All of whom Tamara frequently keeps in contact with them.
Personality: "Fight me," is the perfect way to describe Tamara. Headstrong and proud, she's quick to burst and her anger burns just as bright. This very hubris has been the cause for her achievements and follies. She takes slights against her personally, preferring a good physical fight to sort things out. Despite this, her temper tends to fizzle out quickly and she's surprisingly quick to forgive. She's a pragmatist, always quick to jump to the first solution that seems the simplest. However, Tamara is far from lazy. She's a workaholic. She won't stop until what she wants is done, and even then she's quick to jump to the next thing. She's boisterous and snarky, but there's a friendly intent underneath it all with a fierce need to protect.
  • Strengths: Tamara is hardworking, ambitious, and energetic. She can be surprisingly gently around children, and fiercely protective of those she loves
  • Weaknesses: Tamara is prideful and hotheaded, with rushing into situations a viable option for her. Her workaholic energy, while the reason she's managed to get this far, borders on self destructive with her tendency to forget the existence of sleep.
Likes: Coffee, open fields, cooking, small children, music.
Dislikes: Cramped areas, failure, dark places, standing still, pants.
Hobbies: Playing guitar, running, gardening.
Goals: For the Lucky Shoe to become more renowned, and maybe find her real parents on the way.

Extra Questions:
What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? On their nightstand? In their garbage can?
There's mainly fruits and vegetables in Tamara's fridge, as she's incredibly weirded with eating anything with hooves. She also holds a stash of icecream for her 'cheat days' which, let's be real, is everyday.
On Tamara's bedroom floor is a nest of thick blankets where she usually lays down to relax, though she prefers to sleep standing up. There's an old guitar with no strings propped up against the corner, though nowadays it asks as a makeshift coatrack. Next to it is a newer, but definitely well used guitar.
On her nightstand is a picture--three human boys either riding or standing next to a younger Tamara, all in goofy poses. It's hard to remember when the picture was taken, but it brings fond memories of messing around the farm with her rowdy brothers. Next to it is a stack of bills and letters, and a cheap cup of day-old gas station coffee.
There's barely anything in Tamara's trash can. Whenever she can, she's quick to throw out its contents.

Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for them to throw out? What is difficult for them to part with? Why?
Tamara couldn't care any less about the piles of old paperwork she's gathered over the months. The same cannot be said for a tattered, old stuffed horse toy. It's been with Tamara since forever and, while childish, there's a part of Tamara that could never let "Lil' Filly" go.

If your character was stranded on an island and could only bring two things with them, what would they be?
A saw and nails. If she's gonna be stuck here, she might as well make it work.

What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
There's only one instance that Tamara could remember hating who she was. She was around six or seven -- just a small kid, for sure -- when she was walking home from school. Usually her older brother, Rafael, walked with her, but today he was late. Probably being yelled at a teacher, though it was hard to say. So Tamara waits...for a whole two minutes. The walk home is peaceful. Too peaceful. Little does Tamara know that just a few feet behind her are a group of fourth graders whose idea of fun for the day is harassing the local centaur population. The bullies yell out names. Things like 'horseass' or 'long face' and other crude things. Tamara ignores them. The bullies grow angrier. They get more creative with the names, someone even starts shoving Tamara. She ignores them. And then somebody throws a rock. When it hits, that's when Tamara snaps. She yells at them, threatening them to back off. Somebody throws another rock. Then another. And another. Soon, the group is chasing the poor girl home with a hail of stones. Its only when Rafael finally catches up that the group disperses. He hugs his sobbing sister, assuring her that they were only jealous and that there was nothing wrong with her. It's the only instance Tamara remembers hating who she was. And, as she grew older, its the same instance that Tamara became obsessed with proving that she was more.

Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is they going? What does they wear? Who will they be with?
Tamara would wear the classiest thing in her closet, a long dress that is fit to drape over her horse body. It's odd looking, but beautiful. She'll choose an elegant place to go, but not too elegant. Her wallet is skinny as it is. Probably a park or a pleasant picnic at the beach. The only time she'd even be caught out is if someone drags her out of the house or asks her on a date. Both rare occasions. But still, she keeps that dress in her closet.

Other: Tends to gain a thick, southern drawl when she's especially mad.

Character by Kusacobe

Name: Asaciel Balfour
Age: 163, but could easily pass for 24
Birthplace: Marseille, France

Species: Vampire (the western portal, but with fewer cliches). Garlic doesn’t have any effect on Asaciel, but she doesn’t like it very much. Holy items (holy water, crosses, etc.) have no effect either. The sun doesn’t cause immediate damage but gives Asaciel a bad sunburn that takes a while to heal (she does sparkle a little bit when in direct sunlight, however). Other tropes like immortality, thirst for blood, sleeping in coffins (Asaciel can’t afford one, but they are more comfortable than regular beds), and changing into a vampire bat are all the same.
  • Strengths: Her ability to use charisma (like hypnotism but not as strong), Able to levitate a few feet off the ground, Can heal minor injuries on herself
  • Weaknesses: Her lack of vampire training makes it hard for her to use any abilities (she can't use super speed or lift super heavy objects), Her powers are very low level (most times she can only use them for a few minutes at a time), Having to get permission before entering houses or private places

Occupation: Personal stylist, the job is easy since Asaciel has traveled much of the world and can work inside away from sunlight.

Height: 5’6” (170.7 centimeters)
Weight: 120 lbs (54 kg)
Appearance: Asaciel is very a willowy woman, even though her height does not always show due to her being constantly slouched over. She feels much more comfortable this way and only sits/stands upright when making a point or in an uncomfortable situation. She always walks with her best foot forward (something she has done since learning how to walk) and takes care in not dragging her feet. Her eyes are the light brown color they were when she was still human, but they tend to turn a darker shade when she is angered. Asaciel’s hair color varies every decade, but as of currently it’s jet black and falls down to her mid back. Even though she prefers casual clothing, Asaciel likes to show off as much as she possibly can. Almost every piece of clothing she owns is black or another dark color since those are the colors that go best with her pale skin. She normally will wear whatever is popular, but favors skirts and blouses since they make her look more “business like”. Whenever going out during the day, Asaciel takes a parasol with her or wears something over her outfit to cover her skin (usually an overcoat or something similar).

History: Asaciel lived a carefree life with her moderately sized family in Marseille, expecting it to stay that way until the day she died. At the age of thirteen, her life took an unexpected turn when she was kidnapped by the family of a young vampire noble that was in need of a bride. Asaciel was turned against her will and locked away in a cellar until the day of the wedding. During most of that time, Asaciel suffered tremendously from depression and tried countless times to starve herself. When the day of her forced wedding arrived she learned that someone else took her place last minute, resulting in Asaciel being set free. Being in an unfamiliar country (Transylvania) along with barely being over fledgling status left then twenty-year-old Asaciel in a dangerous position. The next one hundred and forty-three years of her life were spent trying to find a cure to her vampirism (an unsuccessful search) and avoiding her thirst for blood the best she could.
Family: Before being taken captive, Asaciel lived with her mother, father, both sets of grandparents, and two younger brothers. Everyone in her immediate family has long since passed away, and not wanting to try and connect with possible family members out of fear has left Asaciel hypothetically orphaned.
Personality: Asaciel changed drastically entering the 21st century; the biggest change is how she went from a curious child to a despondent adult. While Asaciel may seem like the embodiment of gloom, she is actually very nosey and tends to mingle in business that is not her own. One trait that has stayed with her since childhood would be her love for learning. Asaciel has also been noted to act childish when no one is listening to her and prefers to be alone in a dark place. She can be very hard to talk to at first because of her trust issues rooting from being kidnapped, but she’ll slowly warm up to new people as time goes on.
  • Strengths: Being able to pick up on things quickly, Coming up with unique designs, Gathering information
  • Weaknesses: Her stubbornness, Has a hard time being empathetic, Not the best at keeping secrets
Likes: Dark places, Non-fiction novels, Being outside at night, Mirrors
Dislikes: The sun/bright lights, Big crowds, Mention of her human life
Hobbies: Dressing up mannequins and Sketching designs for new outfits
Goals: Work on her temper...while it isn’t short she gets easily annoyed which can escalate

Other: While Asaciel was bitten by a “cliche” vampire, she prefers to be a vegan vampire, or at least she tried to become one. For a long time she only drank from animals (being careful not to kill them), but since she was turned and not born, it took a lot of animal blood to quench her thirst. After giving up on animal blood she turned to eating plants and fruits, but that diet did not work out either since she could no longer consume solid food. As blood banks started to become a more common thing, Asaciel turned to these facilities to get her blood. Now that the modern world is more inclusive, Asaciel no longer has to worry about her next meal, but she still prefers to buy blood instead of getting it from living organisms.

Character by will30358

Name: Kennedy McLeod Rajah
Age: 19
Birthplace: In the city

Species: Kennedy is a half-angel (the ones that don't come from heaven; the ones that are spirits of light), half-human. He has an angel mother a human father that both live peacefully in the city with their son and two daughters.
  • Strengths: His only strength as a half-angel is flight. He's is an A+ rank flyer. He can zoom across skies, go at speeds comparable to a plane, alter his gravity with his wings, and even creates a small shield with his wings. Yeah, his wings are pretty important to him. Also, he has a perfect photographic memory.
  • Weaknesses: Sometimes, he flies without input from his brain, and when this happens he turn's into a living uncontrolable rocket; when extremely aggravated, he loses control and creates a blue glyph-like spell circle, causing a large amount of destruction. He doesn't really have all that much magic. Yeah, he can fly, but that's pretty much it.
  • Idle Traits: Kennedy flaps his wings while standing, is prone to floating in the air without noticing, and sometimes even flying to places when he wants to walk. It's like his wings have a mind of their own. He also is prone to humming songs to himself when bored.

Occupation: Kennedy gives people 18 and below flying lessons on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. He gets good pay from it, and it lets him relax his wings, something that he really enjoys doing.

Height: 5'10
Weight: 120 lbs.
http://www.storytellerscircle.com/attachments/upload_2017-7-14_13-24-52-png.1314/ (I do not own this image)
Kennedy stands at 5'10, and he also weighs 120 lbs. which is heavily influenced by the workout he gets while working out/exercising.
Kennedy has light grey-colored eyes that seem to always be a bit crunched up. His ears are always a little perked up, but that doesn't matter, considering that his slick, gray hair covers them up, along with his eye. His eyebrows are kinda skinny, but not that much. His nose looks faint and not that special, and his mouth is smaller than the normal one is. His arms are average; not really jiggly, not really wavy. He's light on the thighs; other than that, he's got normal legs.

His casual outfit is a gray t-shirt that says "FATE" in white, all-caps letter and casual blue jeans. As a half-angel, he has angel wings that stretch out on his back.

History:
Kennedy was born to one wealthy human named Christian Rajah and a human-informed angel named Eryn Hikari Rajah. While this isn't the strangest case of "multi-baby birth" ever, Kennedy was born the middle child of three triplets. Growing up, they weren't famous, though the three always believed that rich = famous, but were instead being taught manners and being sent to boarding schools because their parents didn't want them to fall under the "spoiled brat" category of children. This is where he learned compassion.

Now, besides that, their childhood was boringly average. Nothing super special to mention. Until this happened.

When they were all 10, Marlee, Kennedy's younger triplet sister, was captured for ransom. By the time the police were called and they got the negotiation ready, the kidnapper had already cut off one of Marlee's arms.
While Camille, the older triplet sister, was filled with rage, this was a traumatizing experience for Kennedy. He had seen his younger sister armless. If you were 10, wouldn't you be crying?
Yes, Marlee got a cybernetic arm, but even to this day, Kennedy turns on anyone who dares to do something he would hate to him because you never know if that person is just a kidnapper on a less deadly scale.
However, this experience also furthered his kindness. He is kind to people in need because he doesn't want to see anyone suffer in the way Marlee did

Personality:
Kennedy thinks things rationally instead of charging head-on, being calm when in the face of danger. His calmness can turn into aggravation when annoyed, but he keeps his temper under control. At least, he tries. Sometimes he freaks out, but that's only when he's dealing with folks so annoying, he kinda has to.

Anyways, he tries to be the best person he can be, almost always giving 100% in what he does. He is also compassionate to levels past the average "kind" person - instead of only being kind to those in need, he's nice to pretty much everyone he meets. Even though he's very old, he still addresses strangers as "Miss" and "Mister" or, if he's in a Japan- environment, he is prone to using pronouns such as "sama" or "sensei" to those above him.

Kennedy can take an emotional beating. He will not cry if ten bullies just keep on pounding - he'll simply glance at them and continue with his day. To him, bullies are just fools who make fun of others because they have nothing better to do in their lives.

He thinks that life is an amazing thing, to live freely without limits. He often dreams of thoughts or the future because the concept of living is just so fascinating to him.

Kennedy has one strength that is more than just kindness; common sense. He thinks things through, noticing possible effects, and then he does whatever he is trying to do.

Family:
Camille and Marlee Rajah (older & younger triplet sisters), Christian Rajah (father), Eryn Hikari Rajah (mother)

  • Strengths: He is usually very patient with other people, but if annoyed to a large extent... just don't get near him, or else he'll give you the lecture of the decade. However, this doesn't happen a lot because of his willingness to give people a chance to see how stupid they're being. He'll ask anyone if they would like a drink like a butler even if he isn't in a job as one, say "Sir" and "Miss" as seen above, and even sacrifice his own time just to help someone. He believes that the King's Guard need to make up for past sins, but meanwhile with him, you have to be the best person you can be, for you can either leave a bad mark on the world, or make the planet remember the Guardian who always tried to help unless the KG was near.
  • *Weaknesses: Kennedy isn't too nice, but he has some trouble letting people down (unless they're Mac, who he'll tell the truth in a second). He has some trouble stopping people from making stupid decisions when he knows that he should stop them unless it's so dangerous he can't help himself. Because of this, he prefers to go solo on things - he believes that while others are important, at times, they'll just weigh him down. Pretty cocky. Not to a large extent, but he still thinks he's pretty good at things to at least think he's in the Top 10. While this doesn't affect his mindset too much, it can get him into trouble with other people who have this flaw.
Kennedy, when he has nothing to do, will not be the one to strike up a conversation. If he's bored, the first thought that comes to his mind is to read a book or exercise, not to go hang out with his friends. (Weakness)
Also, he really dislikes people who are loud and energetic, and if annoyed past levels that would be average for a person, he'll just totally freak out. He thinks that those who don't do anything and just live life normally without doing anything good are just wasting their lives away, a pretty cynical mindset.
Likes: Kennedy is a fan of quietness, not liking terror unless he's the one causing it and he has a good reason to. He hates loud music, shouting, and all things that disturb him from doing quiet things.
He likes to read literature. Fanfictions, books, media, visual novels, if it's something he can read, then he will read it. He doesn't know why he likes reading so much, but he's very intrigued by it.
He also likes things that make you think. Puzzles, brain teasers, crossword puzzles, riddles, you name it. He likes to get "smarter" by doing this.
Dislikes: Loud music. Just... no! If you put on most of the songs on the RWBY soundtrack, he tells you to shut it off before you're even an attosecond into the song.
Loud things in general. While loud songs tick him off the most, if you're yelling at him, he won't yell back - he'll just tell you to talk in a normal voice.
Don't even get him started on dummies. He doesn't scoff at them, he doesn't make them feel terrible, but internally, he's going "How is a person like this even possible to be like this?!"
Goals: To live life to the fullest, even if it won't end naturally; to leave a positive mark on the world so that everyone will remember you when you leave.

Extra Questions:

What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? On their nightstand? In their garbage can?
A: Probably lots of rice, beans, tacos, and fruits. A bit of tofu.

Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for them to throw out? What is difficult for them to part with? Why?
A: It'd be easy for him to just throw out things like pictures since he has a photographic memory, but it would be very hard for him to throw out stuff like toys from the past; he only got stuff he loved, so it'd be hard to throw it out.

If your character was stranded on an island and could only bring two things with them, what would they be?

What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?
A: A long book and an exercise kit. Just to keep him occupied. (Though he could always fly away.)

Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where are they going? What do they wear? Who will they be with?
A: Probably out to the theaters, wearing casual clothing and going with his sisters.

Invulnerable to Heat: Even when submerged in fire or lava, Rocio keeps her shape; she suspects that only the skin inside her body is vulnerable to any sort of fire. When she is subjected to intense flames, the circulation of her skin quickens, but no other effect is noticed. Her hair floats in magma.

Produces Flame:
Using major joints (such as her knees and elbows) Rocio can light a fire to small objects. Fabric such as clothes can technically catch fire, so she typically wears looser clothing, and hopes for the best.

Claws:
Rocio's 'sharpened' fingers act much like claws.

Weaknesses
:

Water:
When wet, Rocio's joints harden, making it difficult or impossible to move. If water is splashed in her eyes (and causes them to go out) she can be rendered blind until she dries out. This sort of injury feels much like a burn does to a human.

Physical Combat: Rocio is constantly aware of how delicate her body really is. It might sound silly, but a crack in her skin will give her a joint where she is not accustomed to having one, and make her body much harder to deal with. She'd rather not go there if possible.

Conspicuous: When you look like you're on fire pretty much all the time, it is very difficult to hide, let alone pass in plain view. Between perceived as a demon (or worse, a dragon) and being able to set most cities solidly ablaze she is monitored quite closely by those around her.

Idle Traits:
Rubs Fingers: The skin at the tips of Rocio's fingers constantly grows, much like human fingernails or rodent teeth, and she needs to keep them ground down in order for her fingers to function properly.

Occupation: Food Vendor
Rocio works as a fried food vendor at many festivals in the area she lives. When she is not able to work festivals, she sets up a stand on the street, selling mostly french fries (of many varieties, including poutine), fish, and oddities such as fried mars bars and dill pickles. She enjoys working with oil (instead of water) in an environment where she can deal with the public - but is aware of her low pay grade.

When she was a child, she worked in the village where she was born as a sort of scullery maid, tending the fires and aiding staff with cooking for local houses.

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 290lbs

Appearance: Rocio's most noticeable feature is her blackened, hard skin, which is laced with a random web of glowing cracks. Her joints, similarly, are warm and light her surroundings. Under her first layer of skin is a layer of fire - molten rocks which bubble to the surface hardens, and melts over time - but due to its tendency to melt anything stuck inside of her, there is little known about her body. The best way to describe the surface of her skin is to liken it to an extremely slow lava lamp.

Beyond this and her fire-filled eyes, Rocio has long (apparently charred) hair. Strangely, it is very silky to touch, just as touching Rocio's black flesh is not painful to a normal human.

Barring synthetic fabric, Rocio can wear almost any sort of clothes, preferring short dresses and jeans (often at the same time) or light ripped jeans paired with simple tank tops. Warmth is not much of a concern for her, though she must stay mostly dry, so her clothes are put together for utility.

She is small in frame, but quite heavy due to her skin being a sort of 'living rock' and prefers conversation to typical fights.

History: She was born in the eighteenth or so century outside of a small town in Chile. She worked for a while as a scullery maid when she was a child but was often shunned or hated for her appearance or 'disease'. As a young woman, she was brutally attacked, and attempts were made to burn her hands. When it was found she was invulnerable to fire, she was dunked into a lake, being pulled out and left once her fire was completely out.

Since then, she has been much warier around humans, afraid of becoming vulnerable or immobile.

Family: Rocio doesn't particularly remember any family members. In fact, her first memories are of an area surrounding an active volcano, which makes her wary that the superstition of her species being the offspring of a European dragon and human woman is correct.

Personality:

Strengths
:

Warm: She tends to be quite friendly with all that she meets, at least on the surface, and has a very soft voice.

Assertive: Rocio speaks her mind above all else. She is less abrasive than honest, and will firmly state her position, hardly ever retreat from it.

Weaknesses
:

Persistent: When she something stuck in her head, it takes quite a bit to put her off, and she can be ignorant of boundaries.

Lack of Ambition: Rocio is not likely to reach for higher employment or status, either from happiness or disbelief that change is possible.

Likes: Cooking, heat, sand
Dislikes: Impatience, intolerance, furry animals
Hobbies: Reptile keeping - she has a small sand boa that her neighbor keeps when she is away. She likes to collect rocks as well.
Goals:

Extra Questions:

What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? On their nightstand? In their garbage can?
Rocio eats primarily meat, though she is fond of many types of bread, as well as cooked desserts. Her fridge is quite empty as she is more likely to eat from her stand. Her bedroom floor is covered in a tarp, mostly, as a protection in the case of her neighbor's fishtank is leaking.
Her nightstand houses a book and jug of water (in the case of a fire during the night) and her garbage bin houses water bottles (from putting out small fires), a burnt blouse, and a pile of matches.

Character by kingboo

Name: Alma Sinclair
Age: Looks about 19, died 15 years ago.
Birthplace: Some obscure village known for having a big ghost and demon population.
Species: She is a Poltergeist, a ghost or supernatural entity responsible for physical disturbances, such as loud noises and objects being moved or destroyed. Poltergeists are purportedly capable of pinching, biting, hitting, and tripping people. Most accounts of poltergeists describe the movement or levitation of objects such as furniture and cutlery, or noises such as knocking on doors.
  • Strengths: Able to phase through walls and float, telekinetic.
  • Weaknesses: Weak against most forms of protection against troublesome spirits and demons, when she’s really upset she subconsciously starts breaking things.
  • Idle Traits: When bored, she lightly elevates or moves objects close to her. She starts floating when she’s lost in thought. Sometimes will turn a light switch on and off if uneasy and close enough to one.
Occupation: Writer, also works part-time at a magical charms store. She’s somewhat skilled in magical charms, as she came from a family of witches and wizards specializing in them.

Height: 1,72 m (5’6’’ ft)
Weight: Doesn’t really have a weight as she is a ghost. For the sake of this question, 56 kg (123 lbs)
Appearance:

Alma is somewhat dark-skinned, tall and slender, somewhat bony (although this isn’t very noticeable most of the time due to her affinity for baggy clothing). Her eyes are porcelain-white and always glowing, giving her a somewhat sinister look when she’s in a dark room. Her hair is shoulder-length and straight, always looking like it has not been brushed in years despite her best efforts; as well as her eyes, her hair seems to radiate a subtle light. Both of these traits, as well as a slight translucence, were acquired from Alma’s death and subsequent rebirth as a poltergeist. Alma is very attention-catching, and not only because of her luminescence. She likes to wear odd clothing, usually bright-colored, baggy and looking like it was pulled straight out of a 00’s Disney Channel show or Hot Topic depending on the day. Alma stands upright and walks confidently as if she was a model and the world was her catwalk. She is almost never seen without a smug grin or a mildly annoyed look on her face. She tends to make dramatic hand gestures when talking.

History: Alma lived with her family in a small village known for its extensive ghost and demon population. It was somewhat dangerous, as some creatures were hostile, but Alma and her family didn’t mind and were in good terms with most people in the village. When Alma was a young adult, things had gotten tense between her family and the demon populace of the village, the situation began escalating until it ended with the entire Sinclair family being brutally murdered in their home by a demon. Alma resurrected as a poltergeist.

Family: Alma lived with both of her parents, her grandmother and her brother and sister before the incident. After the incident, Alma began blaming her family for her murder and became bitter against everyone in her family except her siblings and father. As of now, she only really keeps in contact with her sister and brother, who also became ghosts.

Personality: Alma loves receiving attention, so she is always as loud-mouthed and flashy as possible. This often makes her get in trouble, but she doesn’t really care; negative attention is still attention. She’s overly friendly and flirty with most people, even strangers; she acts like this to embarrass people and doesn’t expect retribution, if someone were to return her flirting, she would become very flustered and angry. Alma is very mischievous and loves pulling pranks on unsuspecting victims, her pranks are more often than not harmful, but she refuses to believe they’re anything but the epitome of comedy. Alma is very lonely, so she feels like she has to put up an “outgoing, hilarious and witty” persona in order to get attention. When she’s around her friends, she’s calmer and nicer, although still playful and a bit mean. Alma is very hard-working and ambitious but often downplays her efforts in order to seem more talented and laid-back. She’s a very bad liar, stuttering, and fidgeting when trying to lie and becoming very angry when questioned.
  • Strengths: Alma is hard-working, loyal to those close to her, resourceful, helpful and clever. Alma pays a lot of attention to detail and doesn’t like to half-ass things. She’s also very ambitious and perseverant.
  • Weaknesses: Alma is obnoxious, very impulsive, terrible at lying, gullible and loud-mouthed. She’s very prideful, doesn’t like to admit her mistakes and apologize and never asks for help, even when she seriously needs it. She’s also very quick to anger, emotional and lacks patience.
Likes: Being around her friends, early 00’s fashion and electronics (still has a godforsaken flip phone), stage magic, forests, sweet food (she can’t eat it anymore but she appreciates their aesthetic), dark rooms.
Dislikes: Most demons (she’s still bitter and somewhat wary of them), being alone, old-fashioned houses (it’s odd, but it reminds her of the place she was murdered in and makes her very uneasy), bright rooms/sunlight.
Hobbies: Reading cheesy romance and slice-of-life novels, it’s a guilty pleasure; retro videogames, pulling shitty but surprisingly elaborate pranks, learning about magic (although she does not actively practice it ever since becoming a poltergeist), writing angsty stories
Goals: Completely getting over her murder, becoming a well-known author would be great as well.

Other: She finds throwing and breaking things relaxing, but has understandably been trying to stay away from doing it in the past years.

Name: Clarice Newman
Age: 22
Birthplace: Louisiana
Species: Human

Occupation: She mostly spends her time studying the arcane arts at the local college. However, she does use some of her spare time to earn money as a freelance mage. She brews potions, casts spells, or summons/banish spirits for the people who commission her. She likes to advertise that her specialties are illusionary, transmutation, and conjuring magic.

Height
: 5'0"
Weight: 104 lbs

Appearance
:
clarice-birb-jpg.1316

The first thing that’s the most noticeable about her is that she’s almost never seen without a flock of birds around her. Pigeons, sparrows, doves, crows, any type of bird you’d see in the city isn’t far away from her. She tends to have feathers stuck in her clothing and hair, most of varying colors and types. The birds like to nest in her hair, too. Sometimes she even forgets if one's up there or not, accidentally taking it with her everywhere.
Regarding her actual appearance, she’s overall very petite. Short and round faced with a thin frame and large green eyes. Her face is soft and covered in freckles. Most people take one look at her and assume she’s in her early teens, much to her annoyance.
Her hair is perpetually wild and tangled, something she’d like to blame on the birds, but it’s really just always been like that. She does try to manage it. No, really. She does. It's just that it's so thick and frizzy, it takes way too much work to tame. She doesn’t bother to do anything with it unless she has too.
Clothing wise, she has her own hipster-ish style. Black boots, jacket, and choker are part of her default outfit for any occasion. She actually wears them a bit too much. She doesn’t branch out much.
She does like to wear wards on her clothing when she can. It allows for spells to be active without her having to cast them! Her favorite is her green hoodie, which has the Eye of Apparitions on it. It casts a glamor that hides the worst of the damage that the birds do.

History
: She grew up in the rural parts of Louisiana, the first and only child to a basic nuclear family. Her childhood was simple and quiet. Her parents raised her in the countryside where it was nice and calm but secluded. Up until she started school, she didn't have that many other people to talk to most of the time.
Once school started, things did start to change for her. She became quickly aware of how much loud noises and densely populated spaces bothered her. It was hard for her to focus in class and school became, so the teachers proposed an idea. They sent her to the school counselor who taught her her first spell. It was a mild illusionary charm, one that muffled outside stimuli for the caster. Once she learned to cast it, she became completely fascinated with this branch of magic.
She learned more spells as she grew up, some to help her with her hyper sensory issues, other just because she wanted to. She learned how to turn her bedroom into a beach, how to make dragons appear, shoot rainbows out of her ears, she loved the idea of being able to play with the perceptions of reality.
She once she graduated, she managed to get a scholarship from the Gwydion Magical College located in the city. To which she moved to shortly after. She’s been living there ever since.
Which is what led to her first magical mistake. Her affiliation with birds has a pretty funny story behind it, and it's the main reason she doesn't drink anymore.
One night, she got plastered. Not really for any good reason, just that an old friend was in town and they wanted to go have fun at the local bar. It was the first time in a while she'd seen them, so she didn't have the heart to say "no". At first, it was a nice night. She laughed and joked, getting more and more wasted, and a bit of liquid courage got her trying her luck with some of the other patrons. However, the mix of awkward slurred pickup lines, the whispered words of "jailbait", and only the wrong company responding to her intentions left her alone for the night. Her friend took pity on her and led her home, dropping her and say her goodbyes. She sulked in her home, bitter and lonely after a rough end to the night. Leading her to do something particularly stupid.
In her stupor, she thought this was a problem that could be easily solved with magic, only she didn't know any spells that could make herself more charismatic or have people naturally like her, so she went to the internet. She used the first one she found, a spell on a backwater website that promised to help "pick up chicks". Seemed fine to her, any company would be good company, right? She rolled both ways anyway.
She woke up the next day with both her and her apartment covered in birds. Upon further sober inspection, she found out why that was. It was a troll hex and damn a powerful one at that.
She’s now a bird magnet. Birds from far and wide flock to her and refuse to leave her alone. She can't figure out to get rid of them and to this day, she's still stuck under the curse. Making herself into the living example of why you don't cast random spells you dig up on the internet.

Family
: She has a fairly average family. All human, to her knowledge, and also all a bit protective. She’s the first mage in several generations, so they tend to worry about her and her antics.

Personality
: Clarice is overall a somewhat weird girl. She walks to the beat of her own drum and doesn’t change her pace for anything. She’s very much that type of outcast kid. The kind you’d see sitting in the back of the classroom, wearing an oversized hoodie regardless of the temperature. Doodling anime characters with their headphones in, but somehow still listening to every word the teacher is saying. Then walking down the hallway with a stiff gait to the library instead of lunch when the bell rings. She lacks charisma and tends to come off as awkward sometimes. Something she has grown painfully aware of, so she tends to keep to herself.
But what she lacks in being socially smooth, she makes up for in her earnestness and passion. She has a dream to be the most powerful mage around, and by damn, she's going to achieve that. She's smart, she's young, she's got a lot of time to accomplish that. And so she will. She wants to use her powers to help whoever she can. The world sucks for everyone, more so the ones stuck in the crappy parts of life and she's going to use her magic fix that for everyone who needs it.
Granted, ever since the bird incident, people aren't really treating her with much respect anymore. "No one wants to hire a cursed mage," they say. Well, they just don't know about the finer points of magical use. She'd be happy to explain to them a number of magical accidents that happen to all magic users if only they'd listen. It's not even a dangerous curse! It's just a bunch of birds, what's the big deal?
Still, deep down below everything, it does hurt that even fewer people than ever have been talking to her. She'll deny to anyone for as long as she can, but she's a pretty lonely person. Whether she even knows this about herself is a topic she hasn't approached. She's thought about it when she's all by herself, and she hasn't even considered leaving her house in the past few days. She wonders to herself if there's a point to this, should she just go out with someone? All her friends tend to be busy or a few states away. New people make her nervous, you never know who's friendly and who's not. It'd be safer, in the end, to stay in.
  • Strengths: She's quick to run to the rescue of someone in need and genuinely enjoys helping out other people, which is why she likes to work as a freelance mage. She's pretty intelligent and good with magic, picking up and working with most at ease and casting spells without much of a problem. She deeply loves magic and she's eager to share that love with whoever wants to hear. She’s also very upfront and honest. If you ask her a question, she will almost always give you the truthful answer, whether you want it or not.
  • Weaknesses: She is much more naive than she cares to admit. She may be a smart kid, but she's pretty lacking in practical intelligence, and on the subject of admitting, she doesn't care to have to admit anything. She's pretty stubborn and prideful, so there's nothing she hates more than having to back down. She even has some measure of asking for help when she needs it. Although, that could also be due to her issues with communication. She’s always had a lot of trouble expressing herself to others. It’s lead her to be pretty closed up about her emotions. She has trouble with those in general.
Likes: Astronomy, large coats, video games, occult trivia, rain, and birds.
Dislikes: Loud noises, crowds, hexes, centipedes, coffee, and birds.
Hobbies: Magic, illusions, studying, gaming, and some alchemy.

Goals: To find out who she is. Also to break the curse.
Other: She might not look it, but she has a thick Cajun accent. Thick enough to the point that it's hard to understand her sometimes.
