It had been week and week ago that Assara had left the are of Colcord Point as it fell to disarray and chaos. As she meandered the streets now, however, it appeared that life had found a way to live with the chaos that remained. Her uniform, which had been replaced following the loss of her old one inn this very place, was as crisp as ever, high collar stiff and long coattails swaying back and forth as she walked. Her mind was parsing the information she saw around her, from the newer construction to the oozelings, letting ti wash over her before she came to any conclusions.
With her mind in such a blanked mode, it wasn't until she was facing the rift itself, and perhaps only a dozen meters from it or so, that she realized that she'd traced back her steps to see the space-time anomaly. Though she hadn't been able to find out the exact cause or reason behind its formation, she had been able to gather some information about various kinds of anomalies similar to it while still searching for the mercenary, Tenna. As it turned out, this kind of rift was associated, from her understanding of the texts she'd read in Westeria City's library, indicative of possible fluctuations in the what the first book had described as the 'Etheric Web'. She didn't quite understand at first, but eventually her research led her to one conclusion about the rift and how it reacted. To her knowledge, and from her research, it seemed purely magical in nature, despite being in line with several different anomalies of similar size. What she hadn't been able to puzzle out was how it had come to be here in the first place.
"Still here after all this time, hm? Odd, you are, but perhaps I am the odd one here. After all, you are native to this place, and I am but a passing wisp of matter and thought." She smiled while talking to herself, then watched the various goings on about her and the area, her interest in the oozelings remaining. She never had gotten the sample she'd desired, after all.
