Jordan glanced back at the person behind him, turning his head listening openly as Kasper and this Asher kid introduced themselves, before reaching his rather large arm back for a handshake.
“Yo. I’m Jordan. Jordan Warbellows. Whaddya need Asher?” He asks, easing his eyebrows just a bit and trying his damn hardest not the catch the gaze of
Xia Feng. He might actually die before they even reached wherever they were going if she so much as smiled at him.
@Lucky
Chen Shu-ling
Shu-Ling stared at Asher for a moment. Was that what people were still thinking this was? A simple field trip?
Perhaps they were right, and that was all that it was. She should really calm down, but nothing seemed to be working.
"Hey Xia, I haven't seem you in a bit", Shu-Ling responded, trying to have a more normal conversation despite her nerves. Perhaps it was also because she didnt know Asher as well. It was true though, her studies have taken her away from her friends/fellow peers and she hadn't seen Xia in a few days. "Do you have any idea where we are going?" She hoped that Xia would have answers. She suspected that Xia's family had more connections, and perhaps she heard something....
She listened at Xia's response, as well as the conversation that Asher had stared with the people in front of them. She listened to it all, but none of it at the same time. she mindlessly fiddled with her phone, perhaps with the hopes to ease the nerves just a bit.
Asher Falcon
Asher was surprised when Jordan turned around to him and was even more surprised when he reached his rather large arm back for a handshake. He wondered if he was on one of their sports team, but shook his head regardless.
" It is nice to meet you Jordan. I just wanted to get to know the people around me. I guess it is my nerves and my own uneasy feeling about this 'field trip'. " He looked over at Jordan trying to avoid someone's gaze. He shrugged it off, not wanting to comment on it in the slightest.

Xia shook her head at Shu-Ling. "Sorry, no. I haven't heard anything from them. They were at some party all last night." She said, a bit downtrodden. "I'll try and get ahold of them on the way. You're right, maybe they have heard something." She smiled softly at the whole group. Despite the fact that she was nervous, she still wanted to at the very least, be polite to everyone. "I'll update you all!"
"I don't listen to music." : |
She said flatly, discernible even through her mic. She sighed out, tense suddenly before she said quietly.
"Do you have anyone who'd miss you if you died?"
@Minerva
"Ah, I can introduce you to some music on the way. Don't worry." He said with a smirk. At her question, The boy furrowed his brow. "I-I suppose my parents. I also have a sister who'd kinda miss me." She said. "What about you? You have a family? Friends?"

Soon, the bus was full of people. Students were all loaded into the bus in one fell swoop.
The bus would start moving after Instructor Zheng and the driver got on following what looked like a small altercation. He would grab onto the pole by the stairs facing the group. He counted each person on the bus before signaling the driver. You drove through Taipei, on the newly built Escalated Highway that got a view of Taipei.
The city is much larger than it used to be, with large buildings surrounding Taipei 101. Large banners hang from some of them, with the flag of Taiwan on it. Another
As you crossed onto a bridge, everyone would feel themselves getting drowsy. It was very clear at this point that something was VERY wrong. "WE'RE BEING GASSED!" One voice shouted before devolving into a coughing fit. Those who could bring themselves to turn around would see the soldiers wearing gas masks.
Two hours later
Your eyes opened to a buzzing sound and the wash of artificial light flooded your eyes. If you looked around, the group was sitting in an all white room. Soldiers stood on the sides of the room, M-16's in hand. On your wrists was a small black bracelet, similar to a FitBit or smartwatch. Soldiers stood around the room, and Instructor Zheng stepped in front of the TV screen in the wall.
"Good morning, Third Years of Saint John Bosco Academy." He said. "You have been chosen by random lottery to participate in this year's Battle Royale." He looked around the room. "The Battle Royale program was instituted as a way for the government to control the population as well as a method to restore order during these chaotic times. The winner of the game will receive NTD29,115,000, a full ride to the college of their choice regardless of performance on Entrance Exams, and fame."
"Now, Miss Wen will explain this." He stepped aside, an attractive young woman stepped into the room. She was obviously supposed to make things better and was there for looks, but it came off more like badly shoving a cyanide pull into Valentines' Chocolate than taking a bitter pill with sugar.
((Faceclaim: Kim Seol Hyun))
She smiled at the group of students. "Good morning, I'm Meng Wen. I'm here to introduce you to the rules of Battle Royale." As she said that, a map showed up on the screen:
"Dongsheng Island, formerly the site of a military installation built in case of an attempted invasion of Taipei. Now it is the site of Battle Royale." She continued and pointed at the satellite image. "The island is 3 kilometers by 3 kilometers. There is
a village on the south end, a
lighthouse and port on the north end, a
central mountain with a
military bunker, and various other buildings scattered around. Your personal map will be more detailed. This is just a basic rundown."
"Throughout the game, certain areas will be known as
'Dark Zones'. Within these, players are not allowed to enter. There will be more of these as the game progresses." She held up one of the wristbands you wore. "These are your monitors. They do things like monitor heart rate, blood pressure, things like that. They're also programmed to administer a lethal injection if you remain in a Dark Zone for too long or attempt to pull them off. This injection is painless, but it will kill you very quickly."
At this point, it was almost creepy how she was talking about this in a calming and cheerful tone. "Now, you will all be given a bag with some food, water, and a random weapon once the game starts. You will be called by your name to step up and collect it once the game begins." She bowed and stepped aside.
Instructor Zheng stepped forward again. She cleared his throat and stared sternly at the group. "Now, before we begin, are there any questions?"
