I feel like this about romance in roleplays as well. It can be a nice adddition if it occurs as a natural progress of previous developments between the characters in question. But, with it as the main focus, aside from greater odds of being forced, once that is resolved, it might feel like there...
I have been getting a real kick out of some Choice of Games apps. Just finished my first run of Mask of the Plague Doctor and will definitely be making a few more playthroughs.
So far, Choices of Robots has been the one with the most involved and interesting story branching.

I find that good communication is important for a roleplay to work well, particularly in one on one and going from being friendly to forming a bond is definitely something I hope for along the way.
