    Coming up with names

I can not agree more about this. When I posted, I was under the understanding of creating new names for characters in a fantastical setting. But when it comes to naming a character that is supposed to fit into a certain culture, particularly modern cultures here on Earth, just go with that...

    How did you find us?

    * Belated * I came here at the recommendation of a friend . However I don't know her name here, and she mentioned that she was taking a break from the place.

    New User Greetings.

Well I am something of an immigrant, but didn't mention that in my own intro. I wasn't exactly a core member so it didn't seem important. What is Iwaku?

    New User Greetings.

Might I ask from where you both immigrated from? I'm curious.

    New User Greetings.

Welcome aboard. That was a very thorough and lovely introduction, and perhaps has left some people unable to think of any ice breaker questions to ask that you did not already answer. Ha ha ha. It's good to see someone who can be flexible and will make a character to work with other...

What ruins A Role-play the most for you?

I would welcome more rivalry based relationships for my characters to be honest, so long as it isn't based on an out-of-character rivalry.

What ruins A Role-play the most for you?

You caught me there. Romantic relationship. I usually try to be more specific. I will not feel too foolish about it though, I am recovering from light dental surgery and am a little foggy.

What ruins A Role-play the most for you?

I have to ask... why the hypocrite alert? And I agree completely. If you didn't read one of my long posts on here already, I complained about a similar issue. It is bad enough when someone is always trying to push relationships with their characters, worse when they make one purely to pursue...

Ah yes, the chat. I have been in there a few times already. Having the chat bar on the bottom is helpful.

Looked forward to getting to know you too Kian. Maybe. And... I think I should have mentioned in my original post that I am terrible with jargon and abbreviations (other than RP, OOC, IC, and uh... BRB?). ....CBox means?

What ruins A Role-play the most for you?

Wow, that is annoying. Admittedly, I enjoy role-plays where you have to ask permission to engage in combat with another character. However, require permission to hit back is absurd. Sounds to me like that player was a bully and just acting out that desire through their characters.

    UPDATED: Got plots, need partners

I may be amenable to trying to write that with you. USUALLY, I keep to fantasy, but lately I've been playing a lot of survival video games, and figured, why not try a survival RP.

    UPDATED: Got plots, need partners

I have some questions about your survival RP. How much previous knowledge of survival do you expect, given that they are mountaineers? How about Alaska? I've only been there once. Otherwise it may be interesting. And I have a LOT of free time.

What ruins A Role-play the most for you?

A close of garlic is always terrible for me, and right now I am experiencing 'garlic burn' so when you posted that I cringed. Garlic intolerance yay. ANYHOO, back on topic... Character obsession? I know what that is like. Presently I am in a roleplay elsewhere and the head admin type person...

    Any tips for roleplaying?

Avoid basing your character around a cliché, but don't be afraid to incorporate some clichés into your character with a few little complexities to make them more believable and interesting. Sometimes trying too hard to avoid an archetype or cliché just makes you a different kind of cardboard...

    Coming up with names

I mash the keyboard for random letters, and then add or remove vowels as needed. Or I use sound logic. If it's a rough and tumble OR savage person, I use more cacophony (Ketch, Nurrock, Helk). Someone mysterious or mystical? Two-to-four syllables with L's, SH's, and/or N's, bonus points for...

What inspires your writing and roleplaying?

The usual sources. Other fiction. What ifs. Escapism. Dreams. Yes. Dreams. I have written a few stories (well STARTED writing) based on something from a dream. I sometimes want to resurrect and expand on the surreality of one of them, but I'll never be able to convey everything that I...

    Favorite Types of Roleplays?

I just like a role-play setting that allows for variety in tone. Throw in some intense intrigue, dynamic drama, awesome action, and tie it together with facetious fluff, and I think I'll be good. I'm not saying I want the overall tone to be inconsistent, but there needs to be light and dark...
