Castle Glen [Currently 1x1] [Bonnibel & Lorlen]

Lorlen

Apprentice Magician
Nestled in the valley between the two dominating mountains of northern Darwn province, Glen castle was a shell of its former self. Only the circular mound was left of a once dominating wall. Towers lay crumbled around their base, stones covered in the green grey moss that grew up in the mountains. Only the main keep remained standing, casting its shadow onto the mountainside as the sun began to set in the west.

Staring up towards the castle, Algeron was relieved that the keep still stood, and maybe only an hours journey away. It was well known that the temperature in the mountains drops drastically as soon as night approaches, and whilst as a magician Algeron was capable of keeping himself warm, the group he travelled with would suffer. Looking over his shoulder, relief was clearly visible on the faces of those he travelled with. Even Lorrain, a younger traveller in the group had started to show signs of travel, the lines of her face becoming more pronounced as tiredness set in.

For 18 days they travelled on foot from the city to this place, tasked to re-establish the castle by the King. A tactical decision led to the castle being abandoned, to provide additional manpower to the southern borders. But now the war was over, and it was their duty to re-establish the castle.

As they walked up the path to the castle, Algeron wondered how soon relief would turn to fear of the unknown.

Her strapped leather boots crunched through the tall dry grass, the tips of the thin strands had left small tickles and itches splayed across her bare knees which now stained an irritated, blotchy rose color.
Behind her, larger and heavier footsteps sounded through the fields dried out state.
Winter had set in, the grass, shrubbery, and trees that once stood tall and lush- now lost their bright colors and adopted pale greens and dull yellows in their place.

Bonnibel trudged through the clearing, the stems of small plants grabbing at her boots as she grumbled in irritation.
It was evident that she'd not enjoyed this for one second of its duration.
The growing footsteps gained on her as she struggled through the dense plantation, soon they stopped behind her as a deep, loud whine sounded- making her roll her eyes in frustration.
A large snout prodded at her back before she had time to untangle herself, he had shoved her over using the top of his head.
A loud grunt left her lips as she tumbled to the ground, making her yell out in anger.
"Sino, how dare you?! Stop being a nuisance!"

Whilst pushing herself up from the now flattened grass, she turned to glare at the large brown bear that now sat lazily on his butt, watching her. Sino and Bonnibel had been together since young, and traveling companions ever since.
This did not stop him from being cheeky and mean whenever he saw the opportunity. He very much liked to play, but as of late there was no time for that- so he had to improvise.

She grumbled a few curse words his way as she turned her head, pushing a few strands of brown hair behind her pointed ears. Her gaze landed on the tall but damaged castle that sat untouched upon its great mountain. Of course, that was not their destination. But, it seemed to pique her interest.
