Favourite part of history?

Definitely the end of the Roman Republic for me, but I'm a sucker for all of history.
I have tons of fun with the 'Extra Credits - History' on youtube, where they go in areas such as the sengoku jidai and the failed invasion of Korea by Japan. Can't recommend it enough (no, I don't get any extra credits for doing this... badum tsss)

I like the advancements of the industrial revolution. With its expanding railroads, building booms, and other technological advancements.

Although I also have a serious soft spot for ancient Galley Ships.

If I had to pick one it'd be WWII, so many terrible things happening but so fascinating. I love reading about the bits of good humanity that come through as well like that German interrogator who wouldn't use violence at all, he'd talk to captives and go for walks with them and they'd give their information up, often without realising it. Also when Luftwaffe pilot Hanz Stigler escorted a heavily damaged B-17 back to safety - he saw the crew were defenseless and flew in formation with them so the AA wouldn't shoot them down.

The Age of Discovery is pretty great as well, especially the fights after over the Indian Ocean trade routes and how rich some countries got off it.

Mythology in general. Roman/Greek and Norse are my favourites but you feed me mythology, I will love you forever. I might argue with you a bot (annnd probably make myself look/sound stupid) because of different things I have heard/read... Tee hee. Also, HAMILTON!! If any of you have listened to/love the musical, lemme just break your heart real quick.

So ya know how in Stay Alive (reprise) when Eliza comes in and Phillip says "I'm so sorry for forgetting what you taught me"??
She taught him to count. He thinks he counted wrong. He thinks HE counted wrong and that's why he got shot. HE THINKS ITS HIS FAULT!!

-quietly sobs in corner-

The part of history I am living now -- partially because I'm not dying from either black lung or shrapnel or steel or iron.

But seriously? Early Medieval Period, right after the fall of Western Rome.

I love everything about Acient Greece, because so many things happened that have affected us today. So much of our culture developed from the things that happened back then, and it’s good to know where we came up with all the things we have now.

My favorite periods of history are Ancient Greeks and the American Civil War. I like learning about ancient civilizations and their cultures (especially the stories of the gods), and I love watching documentaries on the American Civil War. It is a fascinating time period for me. I even have a DVD box set about pretty much every major event of the war.
