Xuanezaa (Zoo-an-nay-zaa) "Xu, Xuan."
View attachment 5669
Age: 30
Species: Naga

Background: Xuanezaa was born in a desert village on a far off plane, home to a tribe of proud Naga, descendants of a grant nomadic tribe that settled on the river Idris that flowed from a grant Oasis. They were a happy people, serving as traders, merchants, and guides for all the kingdoms that wished to traverse the grant dunes of Akardi, and considering its size and location, many wished to do so.

She lived a normal life for many years, training to be a guide as her parents did before her, and she had grown to be damn good at it. She could navigate through anything with only the stars above and the direction of the winds to guide her, on top of an excellent intuition that rarely steered her wrong. She even grew a reputation at being an expert hunter, as her long tail made very little noise as she stalked her pray.

All was not well in the area, however. Unbeknownst to the village, raiders had begun marauding across the dunes, pillaging all that stood in their way. Royal caravans went missing, lords captured and sold for tremendous ransoms, or just killed for sport. War was brewing across the sands, and eventually it hit her village. The marauders came in droves, taking and killing whatever they wished, and before long all that was left was the burning remains of the town and the bodies of Xu's people. The survivors, like her, were taken as slaves.

She did not have to serve long under the marauders as she was eventually sold on to another slaver, who kept her under his thumb with an obedience collar. She spent many a year doing his bidding and working for whoever had the gold to procure her services. Under order, she would be forced to hunt, murder, and assassinate with the efficiency of even the most ruthless and silent of assassins, all while under the obedience collar's influence. These were but a few of the things she and her master were sought after, as she would often be ordered to dance, feed, and 'entertain' many of her master's guests, all for gold that she saw none of. Instead, all she found were the chains that bound both her often sold body and her battered soul.

There would be a light at the end of the tunnel though, when a band of kind hearted heroes would save her from her shackles and breaking the collar that held her will in a tight, unrelenting grip. Freed, she would have her revenge, and with the raw strength of her snake half and the retractable, venomous fangs in her jaw, she would bind and kill her captor, using her tail to bind him and just enough venom for him to suffer for several days before his blood would congeal in his veins. To her, he got off light.

Now, with whatever gold she looted from her now dead captor and a pair of blades she had been given to take out her more violent jobs, she roams as a free woman for the first time in years and feeling what little shred of happiness she could feel amongst a cloud of anger, hatred, and vengeance filled fury.

She has made it her life's mission to make sure anyone who would take, buy, or sell slaves will meet an end by her fang or her knives.

Abilities: Genetically, Xu has many traits that come from her snake-like characteristics. This means she has an acute sense of smell and from both her nose, and by flicking out her long, slightly forked tongue which collects the odors present in the air's moisture. This has saved her many of times and prevented would-be killers from sneaking up on her, as well as helping her find what she's looking for.

She's best suited for warm environments, and is able to withstand exceptional heats that would slow, or otherwise harm many who are more accustomed to more tepid climates, this is partly due to her cooler body temperature, and the fact she can go much longer without water. However, the opposite side to this coin means she does not fare well in the cold.

Because of what she had been ordered to do over the years as a slave, she had honed her skills with a pair of blades, as well as her fangs in the art of killing. Her senses were often pressed to the limit, and her ability to move silently challenged on many occasion, training her for a life of murder-for-pay, or more accurately a tool to be used by her owner, so he could get rich from others' blood.

Her time as a slave didn't only come with the skills in violence, however. She had been ordered to cook, clean, dance, and sing for her master's guests, giving her a solid base in more friendly skills. Though she hated everything about these at first, after gaining her freedom, she quickly realized that she could make these skills her own, she could cook, sing, and dance as she wanted to, as the free folk often do.

Equipment: Xu owns a pair of sharp blades that she had been using for many years under her previous situation, and a pair she continued to use to this day in her vengeful cause, as well as a set of light, but protective armour for her vulnerable torso and her long, snake-like bottom half.

She also sports a pair of retractable, venomous fangs that slide from her upper jaw.

Age: 27
Species: Tiefling

Background: Molly comes from a rich, affluent background, her father being an exceptional businessman and mother a lawyer in Greenwich, Connecticut. She’s the first of three, with a younger brother and a younger sister, and is by far the most different. While her siblings found themselves following in the footsteps of their parents, destined for a life of riches and power, Molly found herself sucked more and more into the world of punk rock, music, hockey, and rebellion. It was never enough to stop her parents from loving her for who she is. Molly thanks her siblings falling in line for that.

Molly was a grade A student all through highschool, another reason why her family overlooked and accepted her, but her rebellious nature still had her in detention most weeks. Her parents suspect that this is how she earned the majority of her high grades, by completing work instead of sitting around doing nothing. It instilled a hard working attitude in her, and one she carried through to her adult life.

After highschool, she got into NYU with a major in business, and promptly moved to New York City, in an apartment her father paid for. This is where her life truly took off, where she could find like minded individuals, attend parties, go to concerts, and generally cause mischief. She had almost been thrown out of university a handful of times, but her grades and father’s money seemed to keep her going.

She eventually graduated, but didn’t want to become one of those fat cats they had spent so long studying. Instead, she decided to change things from the inside and stick it to the man by opening her very own music store. Unfortunately NYC proved to become too expensive to live, let alone for such a goal, but she had her eyes set elsewhere anyway, especially after the rifts opened; the Nexus, a place where people of all walks of life and realities are found without a good enough taste in music. Her store could change that.

It hasn’t been easy, and part of it and her own rent is still funded by her father, but what’s more punk rock than taking money from the man and using it to make money? Her younger brother managed to get into pre-law and sister is getting straight As in highschool so… her father doesn’t seem to mind. As long as Molly’s happy.

Molly spends her days at her store, playing drums in a small time band, and playing as a goalie in a beer league ice hockey league. They are unfortunately very middle of the pack, but its not her fault, the D is Swiss cheese! After nightfall, however, she can usually be found at a gig, a rockin’ party, or falling out of her chair at the local bar, O’Malley’s. When she isn’t partying, however, she’s usually at home enjoying a quiet one, strumming an old guitar or watching TV.

Hey, even punk rockers need a night off. Just don’t tell anyone...

Abilities: Molly has a honed whit, keen reflexes, and an affinity for the supernatural, especially after the Seal was broken and she found her true identity as a Tiefling. Though she keeps her magic under wraps, she has a natural ability to warp and manipulate fire, as well as a hint of Darkness magic, but even she thinks that's far too edgy, and keeps that mostly a secret. There's also a smidge of conjuring, but hasn't quite got a firm grasp on that just yet, not like her natural skills with fire and darkness. One time, she went to conjure a turtle, but instead brought an imp into the Nexus. She thinks its been caught...

On a more physical level, her reflexes are excellent, which comes from years of training. She wanted to be a goalie since she was a toddler, watching the New York Rangers win the Stanley Cup in '94, and wanted to be just like them! Unfortunately there isn't a women's league, so she had to stick with beer league.

She also has an excellent physical base, and isn't one to avoid dropping the gloves, she's ended up with a split lip and bloody knuckles after a game once or twice (you should see the other guy), and is actually quite proud of it.

and finally, thanks to her punk rock life style, her liver is as strong as an ox.

Equipment: Molly has a great two sets of Goalie gear, perfectly personalised for her horns and body type. One is set up to match the New York Rangers, and the other is set up in the style of the Anaheim Ducks, who started up just as she was starting to skate. It just felt right. She can usually be found rolling around on a pair of roller blades.

Age: 26
Species: Alir

Background:
Mohl is a member of the Alir people, a small, but technologically advanced republic that spans over several planets in their sector, far on the edge of the galaxy. They’re a generally accepting folk who value technology, trade, and culture above most things. This would make them a prime target, most would think, however they boast an exceptional navy and brave warriors, but these act normally as a defense force and security patrols around their sector.

Mohl grew up the daughter of a naval engineer mother and a teacher father, giving her and her family a good life. Mohl received a good education, a fine upbringing, and her hobbies were greatly supported by her parents. She took to engineering just as her father did, and often times in her young life could be found pulling apart the family appliances to see what made them tick, much to the frustration of her father. Thankfully, both her and her mother were able to put it all back together again.

This good life would end up boring Mohl, especially after she fell in love with adventure films and books, and soon longed for exploration and seeing the stars. When she came of age and graduated the highest school of engineering, she was able to buy a small ship and began to travel around the Alir sector on her own. Her parents weren’t overly fond of it, but she was happy, and that’s what was important.

When she eventually earned the credits to buy a larger ship, an old, largely decommissioned transport ship. She would spend almost a year refitting it, and eventually she got it looking and running just as well as it had when it was in service, and even managed to secure a drop-ship that took up just above half of the hold. What would she do with such capital? The answer soon became obvious. No, she wouldn’t get into the transport game, though that may be a good side gig. Smuggling? Well, she sure could, just like in the movies. Scavenging? Ding ding!

With all the conflicts and accidents that happen in space, there had to be tonnes of valuable salvage and scrap floating around, and the junk planets themselves had to have something that had been overlooked. Thus began Mohl’s new live as a smuggling, transporting, scavenger. Its served her well for the past few years, and she has had her fair share of run-ins with the wrong crowd and ‘escape by the seat of your pants’ moments, but it only served to excite her into her new career further.

Being one hell of a salvager finally paid off on her last trip into the Dead Zone. On a long-lost derelict, deep in unexplored territory, Mohl stumbled upon the discovery of a lifetime; a long frozen Lost Empire android that she would eventually call Blue. Little did she know, she'd be making a discovery that would have changed her life forever...

Abilities: Mohl is an excellent engineer, tech-head, and one hell of a mechanist. She can pull just about anything apart and put it back together again, given time to study it.

Secondly, she's an experienced freight captain and smuggler, finding places to put cargo, as well as hide it, has become a skill she's learnt through hard work and dedication.

If you need something fixed (hardware, software, big, small, you name it), something moved, or something hidden, Mohl's the captain for you.

On a biological note, Mohl is what most would call 'augmented', with implants that include, but aren't limited to, strengthened bones and a neurological bridge.

Equipment: Mohl owns a decent sized freight ship named the Nazh'zerra, as well as a lighter drop-ship that's stored in its hanger. She has several sets of armor and eco-suits for her work, as well as a bank of tools for just about any occasion, from a tool box of screw drivers, micro soldering equipment, and all-purpose scanners for minor repairs, to hypersaws, laser cutters, and a bank of magnet based support engines for heavy duty salvage.
