TLI is a leading biological engineering corporation known in research circles, but definitely not a household name. The company actually began as a telecommunications company that made fortunes over fortunes by developing technology that revolutionized mobile data transmission and marketing to the data carriers of its day.

Fueled by the suffering and eventual death of his daughter in a losing battle to cancer, late CEO Werner Radler created an off-shoot biosciences division that blossomed into the cutting-edge research and development giant that is TLI today. The company’s many holdings in the lucrative fields of telecommunications and other profitable research divisions are largely funded into biological engineering, giving them the immense resources necessary in the creation of Triteia Station and Project Osiris.

Project Osiris

Project Osiris is the reason Triteia Station exists. Named after the Egpytian god of death and resurrection, Osiris is the study of materials found on the Pacific Ocean floor. The by-product of a unicellular creature with its habitat nestled in the Mariana Trench at the deepest point known as Challenger Deep, has been found in some circumstances to possess reactive characteristics capable of extraordinary healing and combating aggressive and otherwise fatal diseases. The problem? The short life-span of the materials made it so that the time to transport them from Challenger Deep up to traditional research facilities gave TLI mere hours to work with them before they were rendered inert. The result was Project Osiris -- a massive effort to create a research station at the source point.

Project Osiris seeks to recruit bioscience professionals and other experts in their fields from around the world to lead the cutting edge in this research at the depths of human’s ability to exist.

Triteia Station

Triteia Station (named after the mythological daughter of the Greek sea-god Triton) is the home of Project Osiris. A state-of-the-art research facility designed to allow for cutting-edge bioscience engineering and capable of sustaining comfortable human life in the depths of the Pacific Ocean. Located at the edge of the Mariana Trench overlooking Challenger Deep, it is large enough to accomodate a maximum occupancy of 21, although never are that many personnel stationed there. The operations of the station, just to keep it running, can be handled with as few as three individuals with the proper mechanical training.

The various compartments of Triteia Station are dome-shaped pods with all construction designed with maximum efficiency at resisting the immense water pressure. The majority of the Station consists of inhabitable spaces for the mechanical workings of the station, reinforcement of the outer and inner hulls filled with pressurized piping and wiring. Much of the Station’s power comes from conversion of the hydrothermal dynamics of the region, using the heat created by the ocean’s undersea volcanoes. The pods are pressurized and sealed independently of one another in the event of flooding.

The research labs aboard Triteia are state-of-the-art and custom designed to the work needed.

The components of Triteia Station were actually built at the surface and then sunk down to their resting location, the final construction to connect all pressurized areas along with the joining to the power supply done at the bottom.

Transportation to and from the Station is conducted via a permanent oceanic elevator, massive cabling that connects Triteia to the surface world. A permanent facility on the surface serves only as an ingress and egress to the station below and is never permanently manned. The trip to and from the surface takes more than two hours to provide for the slow pressurization. Triteia is equipped with emergency escape pods, each capable of holding up to three crew members, which are designed to slowly ascend to the surface and emit a distress beacon. There is also a traditionally-maneuverable submersible craft attached to the station capable of housing limited personnel.

Commons

The largest habitable area of Triteia Station with several compartments within it. A kitchen/mess area is the largest with a micro-commercial kitchen and freezer storage. A counter lined with permanent stools partially bars the kitchen from several floor-bolted tables with permanent bench seating. Adjacent to that is a common rec area with a large monitor screen, two couches, and a dartboard. In its own room is a small gym with basic exercise equipment. Located directly beneath Surface Access.

Crew Quarters

Individual staterooms for each crew member line a long corridor. Each room contains a bed, wall desk and chair, wall-mounted monitor/TV, and two large storage lockers. A number of individual bathrooms and showers are located directly across from the entrance to crew quarters. At each ends of the hallway are hatches leading to a number of the emergency pods designed for crew evacuation to the surface.

Infirmary

A small but top-end emergency medical treatment facility. A main clinic area siphons off to a separate office for the doctor and two treatment rooms which can be interchangeably used for surgery if needed or overnight stay for a patient requiring additional medical care and monitoring.

Labs 1 & 2

State-of-the-art research laboratories designed for a wide range of fields and experimental technology. Each has a small office area and large storage rooms separate from the main open area.

Ops

The “brain” of Triteia Station. A computer-laden command center from which personnel can monitor and control almost every function of the Station. Located directly above Power and Engineering.

Power & Engineering

The inner workings of the station and not designed with the same level of aesthetic and comfort at the rest of the areas. Large piping controls the heating, cooling, and power functions and links to a number of non-habitable systems in the hydrothermal power system running underground. Contains a utility tunnel linking it to Commons and Trench Access. Located directly beneath Ops.

Surface Access

This is the main ingress-egress point of the Station as it is the connection to the elevator to the surface facility. The remainder of the emergency evacuation pods are located in this area. Along with Trench Access, it is equipped to allow for an individual to leave and return to the station with a diving suit. Located directly above Commons.

Trench Access

Another “utility” space, Trench Access largely serves as the receiving center for the unmanned and automated sample retrieval units which collect specimens from Challenger Deep and transport them to the station. As such, it is located close to Labs 1 & 2. It is also the docking hatch for SEER (Submersible Excursion and Evacuation Rover). Along with Surface Access, it is equipped to allow for an individual to leave and return to the station with a diving suit.

Name: Marcos Navarro

Age: 35

Occupation/Specialization: Operations, TLI Security

Physical Description: Tall for a submariner, Navarro is just a hair under six feet tall. His complexion lies somewhere between a Caucasian with a deep tan and a relatively light complexion for someone born of two South American parents, embodying the strange ethnic history of Argentina itself. Short-cropped brown hair and coffee eyes set a face always shaven clean. He is rarely wearing anything other than the TLI-issued baseball cap and fatigue-style uniforms provided to him with sleeves rolled above the elbows.

Personality: Marcos’ “cool under pressure” mentality serves as a stabilizing force aboard Triteia. Generally good-natured and relaxed in his duties, Marcos finds the comfort and relative luxury of the private sector a welcome change and incredible upgrade from his time in the spartan confines of the military.

While an expert on Triteia Station itself, Navarro knows that he is academically outclassed by just about every other resident on the station as a non-scientist and tends to have something of an inferiority complex when it comes to conversations or social interaction with his research-focused crewmates. His sense of humor is often the defense mechanism engaged to play off the sense that were it not for his technical knowledge to keep the rest of them breathing, he wouldn’t be part of Project Osiris.

Background: The American son of Argentinian immigrants, Marcos attended college and graduated through ROTC to serve in the United States Navy as lieutenant (junior grade). He served aboard a nuclear submarine for three years before joining the division dedicated to the manned deep-sea rescue using submersible rescue vehicles. When that division and technology was phased out in favor of unmanned technology, Navarro was recruited by TLI and left the Navy to become an operations officer assigned to the construction and operation of Triteia Station.

Marcos serves as one of the few personnel that is permanently assigned to Triteia Station, serving as the chief “pilot” for the elevator cable as well as the Submersible Excursion and Evacuation Rover (SEER).

Name: Theodore "Teddy" Tu'uao

Age: 43

Occupation/Specialization: Marine Botanist

Physical Description: Theodore looks as little as you'd expect from a man in his field as possible, sporting a handsome face with dark brown eyes and a body of tremendous stature and muscularity (6'6, 250lbs) covered in traditional tatau with long dreadlocks tied into a ponytail. He wears a silver nose ring and earring on his left ear, and his right eyebrow has been severed by a small scar. He has a thick but well-trimmed beard that hides a square jaw.

Personality: ISFJ; Soft spoken and reserved, Theo has had some trouble making friends at the Triteia station due to his intimidating physique and social awkwardness. However, to those who he's close enough to be comfortable around, he's often referred to as Teddy for his gentle and kind demeanor. Uncomfortable with confrontation, Theo is slow to anger, quick to forgive, and hesitant to make enemies - though the dad jokes don't help. He's a great listener but not a very good talker, because the only subjects he really knows is his wife, kids, and work. Thankfully, he keeps those to himself unless heavily prompted.

Background: Born and raised in Apia, Samoa, Theo had a pretty typical upbringing - good grades in school, small but tight-nit friend group, stable home life. He met his current wife in college and had a daughter together, adopting a son a few years later.

Considered in his field to be somewhat of a celebrity, it came as no surprise to some of his colleagues when he was approached to be a researcher in Triteia due to his pristine mental and physical health and positive standing within the marine biology community.

Name: Anderson “Andy” Sterling

Age: 31

Occupation: Oceanographer

Appearance: Andy stands at a modest 5’10” and has a narrow, almost spindly build. His face is thin and displays an unfortunate inability to grow facial hair, but his pale blue eyes are bright and inquisitive. He generally has an easygoing, enthusiastic smile and an overall pleasant demeanor.

Personality: Andy approaches both life and work with the same casual, almost cowboyish recklessness. He has a rather troubling tendency to get overexcited and throw caution to the wind, especially when exploring some new undersea topographical feature. His reckless behavior has led to several new discoveries in previously unexplored depths, but also occasionally leads to accidents resulting in expensive equipment damage and worse. He thinks of himself as “self-confident”, but others may describe him as “immature” and “foolhardy”.

Background: Growing up on the Big Island, Hawaii, Andy never really grew out of his surfer phase. He only really ended up studying oceanography because it sounded “kinda neat” and let him get out on the water, but ended up enjoying it and becoming rather adept. The exploratory aspect appealed to his adventurous side, letting him survey parts of the ocean floor via ROV or submersible that no human had ever laid eyes on. He was drawn to the OSIRIS project by the promise of experimental deep-sea individual diving suits, and has gone out on several "trial runs" around the station while finishing up the construction and waiting for the rest of the research staff to arrive.

Name: Imani Jones

Age: 28

Occupation/Specialization: Chef

Physical Description: Standing at an astounding 5'6" and one-hundred and thirty pounds, Imani is as regular as regular gets. Despite this, she's stronger than one would first suspect, built from the amount of hauling she has to do in the kitchen. She has pert features and slanted, chocolate eyes with high cheeks that always make them look like they're smiling. Her massive amount of curls are often pulled into a colorful headwrap, hand-picked to match with any of her ten aprons.

Personality: Always sarcastic, but never without a laugh, Imani strives to liven up those who visit her in the cafeteria- all up until they disturb something in the kitchen, a space she is rudely particular about. She is not afraid to pull the wrath of the wooden spoon upon anyone, even the director, should they try to double-dip in the curry she spent four hours slaving over. Otherwise, she enjoys any music that makes her dance, doing crosswords, confusing people with her gift for impersonating accents, and watching reruns of Star Trek on the telly. She puts an emphasis on physical health and can be seen running around the facility when she's not working.

Background: Imani was born on a small island in the Caribbean to a massive family. As the oldest of six, she was taught to cook from early on, helping to take care of her siblings. As time went on, she sought to pursue a degree in biology to satisfy her fascination with the ocean, but dwindling funds cut her short of her goal. Instead, she focused her efforts on her strengths and worked for a popular food chain in Washington D.C for several years until she decided she wanted a change of pace.

Name: Juno O’Sullivan

Age: 33

Occupation/Specialization: Electrical and Electronics Engineer/Electrical Engineering

Physical Description: Juno is a lean, muscular (130 lbs) woman who is naturally short (5’3”) in stature. Coming from a background of Irish descent, she’s a natural red head who always has her hair tied back in a low bun. Juno sees through opal blue irises, and has a pale complexion with freckles littering across her body—the worst of it being on her face.

Personality: Juno is a serious archetype, but is not one to shy away from speaking with others – as her job requires of her. She’s constantly in her books, always researching/designing to improve the station (Power/Electronics), and can be seen up in the unholy hours making sure everything’s working in order. Juno has a way of speaking through a filter, making difficult words in her specifications, to sound simple and more understanding to those not familiar of her line of work. It’s likely she won’t ever get a joke as she’s not the type to be in a joking manner, she takes her work very seriously. Though she can loosen up after a few drinks, she’s the complete opposite when drunk.

Background: Born and raised in the Midwest of the American states by Irish parents, Juno was raised speaking two languages. At a young age, she always had a curiosity that lead to her taking things apart, wondering how specifics worked together when put back together. Naturally, this lead to her attending MIT, where she would continue studying whilst working as an apprentice under a renown Electrical Engineer. After graduating with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, she found herself working for a Telecommunications company straight out of college, and held the job for several years before looking for better work that wasn’t menial. The itch to design, research, and produce better equipment for the general public lead her to working for the Federal Government. When she was approached by TLI to help develop and maintain the equipment needed for radar, sonar, and communications systems, she jumped at the chance as this small part would be a key role in helping the researchers and engineers.

Name: Ellie Reinhardt

Age: 43

D.O.B: June 17th

Occupation: Doctor/Chemist

Physical Description: Ellie is 5’8”, dark brown hair and hazel eyes, has olive skin. She’s a bit above average on weight.

Personality: A bit sassy, but very kind and a warm hearted person. Tends to get along with just about everyone, especially those who remembers her sweet tooth.

Background: Ellie wasn’t a remarkable person. She grew up in an unremarkable town, with an unremarkable family, made average grades. Like everyone’s parents, they pushed her into a completely average career, wanting her to be a regular doctor.

It wasn’t until someone pushed her to challenge herself to push out of the mold that she decided to get a second degree in chemistry. Mostly, it's only served her to make medicine in governmental facilities, but it is a step.

Name: Delilah Hopkins (Dell)

Age: 25

Occupation/Specialization: Lab Assistant

Physical Description: A pale, round-faced woman who comes to around 5'5" in height and being a bit on the chubby side, Delilah isn't someone with many unique physical qualities. She has greyish green, wide eyes, a small upturned nose, and a tiny stitched scar on the upper left of her lip. Her hair is black, always tied in a high ponytail in an attempt to hide how thin and damaged it is.

Personality: Standoffish, matter-of-fact, and desperate to come across like she knows something, it's no surprise that the only picture Delilah paints of herself is an obnoxious know-it-all. However, aside from the passive-aggressive display, she's passionate and driven about anything that interests her and has no trouble keeping herself and others motivated.

Background: Delilah has always been paranoid about the way she was perceived. Throughout school and college, she constantly drove away friends with abrasive pessimism. Although her social life floundered, her academic achievements reaped the benefits of hyperfocus, and Delilah had the qualifications to partake in crucial research...As a lab assistant.

Not the job she wanted, but she took it in a heartbeat regardless.

Name: Maxwell Yoel Judah.

Age: 32.

Occupation/Specialization: Lab researcher, Neuroscientist.

Physical Description: A dark-skinned young man standing around 5'11" and in decent physical shape, sporting what can be described as a baby-face and thick dark eyebrows. Maxwell's sleepy brown eyes often cause the researcher to appear bored, hiding just how excited he is for scientific pursuits.

Personality: Maxwell can be described as laid-back and very quiet, but he isn't above the occasional snarky comment or joke to give his colleagues a good laugh. Maxwell truly awakens when he gets to talk science with just about anyone, showing a childish glee towards his chosen profession.

Background: Born in Brown's Town, Jamaica to an Ivorian father and a Jamaican-born British mother, Maxwell took an early interest in science as a youth. Both parents were educators and often pushed their son to put his brain to good use. It was his interest in the brain itself, how it worked, that eventually convinced the young Maxwell to dedicate his life to it's study. After graduating from university as a neuroscientist, Maxwell sought out work, paid and unpaid, in his field in hope of contributing to the scientific community.

He made a name for himself among his peers, but always felt as if he was missing something. An opportunity to really make history.

That was until he came across the chance of a lifetime to work for Teracom Labs International's on their new project. Maxwell wasted little time in lobbying for a place among their team, hoping to work with some of the world's greatest minds.

Name: Sebastian Lider
Age: 29
Occupation/Specialization: Biomedical Engineer
Physical Description: Dark hair and has strong features, leading him to have an air of apparent calmness, and has light brown eyes. He has the appearance of a bespectacled, studious youth despite no longer being young, standing at 5'11 and unexpected muscula
Personality: Generally quite reserved, however does enjoy spending time with people despite not talking much when with those people. He prefers to observe rather than participate, and is content with watching others having a good time. Coupled with this, his obsession with learning often leads people to dismiss him as pretentious or as someone who tries too hard, but at his core, he is a man who likes to follow his own path and wants to admire the world around him through the lens of learning, facts, and discovery.
Background: Learning is fun. Education is the best tool for success. Knowledge is a weapon that can't be taken from you. These are the tenants that Sebastian lives by and have been drilled into him from a young age. His father had been the first to go to university and get a well paying job from a long line of "unemployed, lowlife degenerates" (his father's words) and always preached how important it is to learn. So now Sebastian spends most of his time searching for new forms of knowledge, as well as refining his old knowledge.
This means that books, the internet, and asking questions are the foundation for his daily routine and he is always attempting to gather new skills but despises anything that gets in the way of this. He talks to people out of necessity, appearing bored by mundane conversations, but becomes inquisitive if something piques his interest in a person. He wants to understand everything around him to the minute detail, but this leaves him scatterbrained and unable to focus on one task for too long if he isn't intently studying it. This obviously led him to get fantastic grades, and a scholarship to boot, much to the joy of his father, following which he decided to go into research as a biomedical engineer.

Name: John Serrin

Age: 43

Occupation/Specialization: TLI Corporate

Physical Description: With a body composition best described as spindly, the only fights in which Serrin can punch his weight are in boardrooms over bottom-line costs and operating budgets. Balded to the point of a full horseshoe-style haircut, sharp hawkish features are set with a pair of wire-rim glasses over brown eyes.

Personality: A calculating businessman at his core, Serrin's personality and sense of humor are fairly derided in his working circles. Despite this, he is an intensely curious man and deeply intelligent when engaged.

Background: Serrin is a representative of TLI's corporate board assigned to look after and report on the health and overall viability of Project Osiris. He was not included on the original crew dossiers provided at launch and little about his background is known to the rest of the crew.
