Name: Natalie "Nat" Veinte
View attachment 5764Age: Mid-twenties
Race/Species: Cybernetic-Enhanced Human
Occupation: Professional Survivor, Occasional Exceptional Thief
Powers/Abilities: Natalie possesses highly enhanced speed and agility courtesy of cybernetic implants. Her speed is not supernatural to the point of comic book ability, but is appreciably faster than the world-class athletic competition sprinters. Her agility and flexibility additionally makes her incredibly resilient to physical damage.
Natalie's greatest ability is that of "phase shifting" where she is able to literally blink or fade in and our of the tangible corporeal form of her physical dimension for a very short amount of time. She is working to improve this ability to be able to phase through objects, although so far it has progressed little beyond a parlor trick without much practical use for fear of phasing back in the middle of wall and slicing herself in half.
Speed doesn't apply only to movement -- she's quick with a keyboard or just about any other technical interface as well. Passwords and firewalls aren't much different than locked doors and safes. She has a knack for finding a way in.
Oh yeah, and legendary luck.
Personality: If Nat's penchant for working herself into dangerous situations won't eventually be her downfall, her acerbic wit mouthing off to the wrong person will. Biting sarcasm is rarely hidden shallow beneath the surface. The only thing that moves faster than her body is her mouth. A thief by moonlight trade, Nat isn't afraid to skirt the lines of morality and finds stodgy adherence to draconian legal codes a real bummer. She's rarely one to turn down a party and usually the last one to flinch in a game of chicken.
While she takes great pride in being "the bad guy," the truth is that beyond her thievery of taking what's good for her, Nat has an underlying code of abhorrence for anyone taking advantage of the helpless, often marking those who do as worthy targets -- her own form of karmic and cosmic justice.
Background: Wouldn't you like to know? Nat would just a soon drink you under the table (or collapse trying) or drag you to bed before she'll talk about the past.
