The legend is this: years ago the world changed. All over the world strange and intelligent creatures began appearing. They were unable to find a way to kill these monsters. Eventually the humans were able to figure out that these monsters all appeared from the same places. Giant electrical fences were erected to keep the monsters in and away from the humans that feared them.

Present Day…

The stories of the monsters is well known as are the locations of most of the zones. Sometimes they find a zone that had been missed and once again the fences are put up, protecting the humans from the harm posed by the monsters. There are a few groups that exist that think these creatures have as much right to live on this earth as they humans do, but for most they fear the creatures too much to risk letting them loose and being eaten alive.

There is a summer camp that exists for children aged 12-16. At sixteen, if you’ve been at the camp before, you can be a junior counselor. Counselors range from 17-25. It happens to be a few miles away from a Monster Zone. They’ve never had any issues since the fences were erected and a few years ago they reopened for business. Since then they’ve kept a steady stream of summer camp visitors. This year, though, the monsters have escaped the fences. There are no nearby cell towers and the camp satellite phone has been sabotaged, the camp must find a way to call for help and survive the monster breakout.

The story starts at the start of the summer. Parents have just dropped off their children, many who are excited for camp, and the counselors have sorted them into their different bunks (room assignments will be determined OOC before posting begins). At first, everything is completely normal.

This RP is run by @Machina Somnium and myself, though it is mostly her creation with little help from me. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Things of Note:

  • No, you may not play a monster
  • Descriptions of monsters and their abilities will be added to the OOC thread as they appear
  • Yes, your character must be 100% human
  • No they may not be counselors
Edit: it's not surprising to send children to a camo so close to the zone. Monster zones are numerous and vary in size. It's not uncommon to have homes, schools, businesses, etc near a monster zone. It's simply the way of life at this point.

Picture (or physical description): Barely reaching five feet, Clair could easily pass as a child of the camp. She's energetic and over compensates for her height by speaking loudly. Long black hair hangs to the middle of her back when down but is usually placed in a straight braid at the back of her head. She spends a lot of time out doors and has come to this camp every year (except for the few years when the monster zone nearby was discovered) resulting in a light brown complexion. Dark blue eyes are focused and perceptive. Yeah, she'll know where you're hiding your contraband.

typically on permission slips children under the legal age are required to have parent permission (usually they have to write their names and then put their signatures).

Camp is located in Spain. Nationalities can be from anywhere... unless @Machina Somnium says otherwise.
 
Picture (or physical description): Average height and wirey with muscle. His skin has a dark hue, both from natural spanish genetics and spending far too much time in the sun. Despite his skin tone and nationally, he has both blond hair and green eyes, a genetic mutation they can trace back to his distant ancestor, Diego Alvarez, a well known pirate. He is also seemingly permanently covered in either soot or oil and often carries with him a bunch of random machine parts, a tool kit and a hyperactive grin. He is dressed in plain loose fitting, dark t-shirts that show off his arms, as well as a pair of dark jeans. He has a pair of welding goggles hanging from a belt on his hip, which he wears whenever he thinks there's a chance what he's doing could go up in his face.

Name of the child: Troy Leonardo Tomás Joaquín Gabriel Emiliano Martín Lucas Agustín David Alvarez. Goes by David Alvarez.

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Allergies: N/A but do not let him near wherever you keep your sugar. He is prone to sugar rushes and when it comes to sweets his stomach is a bottomless hole.

Other relevant information: If you see him with a wrench or any other type of tool in his hand, check any nearby appliances immediatly. He's messed with other's machines before, to mixed results.

Hey, I'm sorry but there wouldn't be Junior Counselors or Counselors outside of the characters the GM's will be playing for story purposes.
