Ame Damnee Outside of The Empyrean Palace

Jack
Approaching the Palace Grounds

A small chill ran up his spine, his hunting instincts were telling him that a predator suddenly caught him in their eye. The Imperator, Minerva. Almost instantly after, Dirt and dust started to build up on the sides of the cobblestone and the forest. The dead then became visible to raid party, over four hundred from the looks possibly more or less.

Seems like he underestimated this woman, she was clearly not just skilled in a fight but a savant in the black arts. Though if the sweat coming off her palms and the blood from her nose told him anything, it's that she will not let anything stop her from getting her way. His head slowly turned to the guards, normally from this darkness and range it would be impossible for anyone without night vision to see. However, Jack's mask gave him night vision and his training gave him the sense to see a large distance, though it was not a vivid vision it could be blurry at times, as it was now. A small vortex started to shine through his mask out the right eye socket, he was ready for anything.

Cryker Reywynn

He could feel the undead, clawing their way up from the earth, beckoned to serve the one who called them. He could feel the hundreds stand once more in their decaying armor and rusted swords, prepared to fight once more. The masters themselves were strong as well, numbering in many dozens. Cryker didn't need to see them to know their identity. He knew that the Underground had come. This time, he wouldn't allow the same thing to happen again. His sword gave off a small, angry chime. Cryker grunted in assent.

He eyed the jittery guards standing paralyzed around him. Hopefully, they could hold off the Underground, at until the wardens could arrive. he doubted his identity would remain concealed throughout the battle. If he was going to make himself known, he might as well try to piss off the Underground immeasurably while he was at it.

"Prepare yourself. Our foes are dangerous, and won't hesitate to kill anyone in their way." Cryker said to Micah, before taking a deep breath, and cupping his hands to his mouth.

"The enemy is at the gates! All men prepare yourselves! The battle begins!" Cryker shouted at the top of his lungs. The sounds carried far in the night, echoing several times into the distance. Down the bridge, he saw the guards begin to rally themselves for combat. The Underground would lose some of their surprise, at least. He doubted they would appreciate it, and to that thought, he smiled.

Dot's wicked smile came into play as she quickly slipped her mask on and threw down the knock out bombs she held with only a nod towards Devon and Taran before she did so. Arming herself with the axe and swinging it towards the one who yelled without hesitation, using the moment to swing with the axe sending a swift kick to Cryker's midsection. "Well that was not very nice." She pouted as she jumped away, quickly planting on her gauntlets. "Pris! Stay back! Everyone move now!" Dot yelled as she turned her attention back on Cryker. "Come on, toy. I want to play."

Priscilla Shaw
"Yeah, doctor." Priscilla said after Devon, her voice practically indistinguishable underneath the mask, yet her physique showing her as feminine. "They've come down with.. Boils, one of 'em doing dark arts, I reckon." She lied, seeming calm as her heart thumped in her chest, her tongue already used to speaking un-truths. No sooner than after she had spoken those words, however, the shadows around her seemed to shift, difficult to see in the dark lighting, but somewhat distinguishable. "I.. I'm not evil.. I never wanted to hurt anyone.." she mumbled quietly, edging backwards away from the two guards, one of which seeming equally as nervous as her, and strangely freaked out by what she assumed was her appearance. Suddenly, the older and more experienced guard yelled something about an attack, but not before whispering something to the younger one. "Stay back? I can definitely do that.." She hissed, sounding monstrous beneath the mask, her twisted sword sliding out from its hidden buckle underneath the robe with an almost sickening shing. She felt sick at the idea of the soon-to-occur battle. Priscilla slipped behind Dot, keeping out of swinging distance while remaining close. "I.. I shouldn't be here! Why did I say yes?" She thought to herself, her mind panicking as she swung her head from left to right, eyes wide and the thumping in her chest seeming like a beast trying to Break through her ribcage. Her sword, gripped with two, gloved hands, shaking like mad. "I refuse to die!' She stated, trying unsuccessfully to give herself confidence and calm herself down, having a minor panic-attack.

Micah - Main Gate
"Prepare yourself. Our foes are dangerous, and won't hesitate to kill anyone in their way."

Micah looked at the other man, his eyes wide in alarm. "K-kill?!" Before he could even process what was happening, the man sent out an alarm, the other guard at the gate lunged toward the intruders, and a gas bomb suddenly went off. In response, Micah did what any sensible young lad would do: he yelped in shock and dropped his heavy shield. Wait, no, what's happening?! he thought frantically. One minute, the night was quiet and he was bored, and the next minute all hell had broken loose. Suddenly, the form of the young guard flickered, then vanished.

Dante - Forest Beyond the Gate
Dante watched in mild disgust as the dead bodies crawled out of the ground around them; the stench of rotting flesh was overpowering. The elf shook his head before slowing his horse until he fell into step beside Minerva. As he was preparing to say something, a shout rang out from the bridge. In the seconds that followed, there were alarm bells going off, and the sound of clanking metal rising from the palace grounds as the entire Royal Guard was just alerted of their presence. Dante shot a glance at Minerva. "It seems we have lost the element of surprise," he commented.

Just as Dante finished speaking, there was a decidedly feminine scream that came from behind them. He craned his head around only to see that a young guard had suddenly appeared in the middle of a group of the undead soldiers. Despite the look of horror on his face, the guard had the presence of mind to slash down the first corpse that came within reach of his sword before sprinting away at inhuman speeds back toward the gate, weaving his way through the collection of Underground soldiers. "Why does this always happen to me?!" Dante thought he heard the boy say as he dashed past them. The elf merely raised an eyebrow at Minerva.

Devon Ironsides - Palace Gate

It seemed like things were going well, when all of a sudden, a familiar face came into view behind the skittish guard, Cryker Reywynn, back from the dead. Devon had barely any time to process this fact before Cryker sent out a cry of alarm and the skittish guard disappeared. As dot threw the first vials of knockout gas, Devon felt time slow around him. He took in Cryker's appearance, he certainly bore the scars from when Devon beat his face in, but he was alive and seemingly healthy. Devon decided to fix that last part.

With time still stopped he jumped up and smashed the vial of knockout gas in Cryker's face, the glass would hurt like a bitch and the next thing Cryker would know was unconsciousness. He then made his way to the gate. Cracking his knuckles he put the full force of his punch into smashing the gate. He made a quick mental note. 1 minute down, 4 left. As time sped up to match him again, the vial exploded in Cryker's face and the first gate burst open from the impact of his fist. "Taran, let's feckin' move!" He told the man, a slight grin on his face. He looked back only to see Priscilla shaking like a leaf, he grabbed onto her hand and started dragging her to the castle. "You stay still, yer gonna die, pup! Find a safe place ta hide when we get inside!"

Hyde Bekele
Forest Beyond the Gate; At the Bridge's Edge.

The voice of warning touched Hyde's ears first and then the sound of the bells ringing alarm through the entire palace. The man wondered what had given them away but quickly pushed the thought to the back of his mind, it was no longer relevant and it was important to stay focused on the task at hand. Hyde grinned at the undead army that now accompanied them on the bridge, his gaze moving to Minerva and winking at her in approval.

A small shriek appeared in the middle of the undead army, a young boy seemed to have found himself caught up with the skeletons. As quickly as he appeared he disappeared again, running past them as fast as he could with a look of horror on his face. Hyde raised an eyebrow at him. "Another teleporter?" he asked aloud, then thought how useless it was to have royal guards so young and scared. He shook his head slightly before allowing a sigh to escape his mouth. He could hear far off in the distance Devon ordering Taran to follow him; it was time.

Hyde straightened his posture and walked toward Minerva, looking up at her silently. He wanted to tell her to be careful but he knew he didn't have to. "I'll see you on the other side, pussy cat." The man turned away from her and began to walk down the bridge, his speed increasing as he ran directly for the side of the bridge. In a fluid motion, he jumped off the bridge, spreading his arms and disappearing out of sight. A few seconds went by and a crow appeared in the sky, flying toward the castle.

Minerva felt a stream of radiance shine through her as the last of the undead rose from the ground. She could see a mixture of emotions throughout the underground; some were scared, some were fascinated, others didn't even seem to register the fact that there were undead skeletons rising up from the ground. She felt... different. Something dripped onto her hand and she noted right away that it was blood. The people didn't seem to care; They understood that she always took risks. It was part of being a great leader. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice cry in the distance and immediately turned her horse back to the bridge. That was! She immediately went into shock. "Right!" she quickly responded to Dante. "Damn you, Cryker!"

Suddenly, she heard an unfamiliar voice pop up behind her, turned to watch him slash down a skeleton, and began to sprint back towards the gate. What a fool! She had to act quick. "Someone catch that child and kill him!" she ordered. They didn't have time to play games. This was war. "Charge!" she bellowed at the top of her lungs. Screams and cries filled the air as the apprentices and other members of the underground did as she commanded, dashing across the bridge, the skeleton army following suit. She watched as Hyde came over, spoke, then immediately made his way down the bridge and jumped off the edge before arriving back in the sky as a black bird. Pussy cat, my ass!

Minerva wiped away the blood from her nose and took a deep breath."We have to get rid of those men up in the tower!" She unleashed a fury of dark magic, shadows generating out of nowhere in her left hand as her horse reared back and began to gallop towards the first gate of the castle.

Jack
Forest Beyond the Gate; At the Bridge's Edge.

The sound of someone yelling out, blowing some of the undergrounds surprises. Jack thought that the underground was a closely guarded secret and those who learn of it are sought out, no doubt a former member getting some payback. These individuals don't seem to be the type to let you go without some scars.
If that was distracting enough an almost feminine shriek could be heard from him. Immediately turning his head, a look of bafflement under his mask. A young warden, had somehow found his way in the center of the undead arm, Disregarding it a freak teleportation accident he was still kinda amazed that the boy could swing his sword with such speeds and manage to escape without any damage, though the same could not be said about the boy's pride.

"Charge!"

The order was given. Jack instantly and silently did as she commanded, as a horde of criminals were about to do war with a bunch of 'Peace keepers'. When they reached the bridge Jack unsheaved ebony and ivory, then bellowed at the top of his lungs, the mask turning it into an hellish sound, as if a god of war had come down from the heavens and was about to unleash divine wrath unto unworthy blathithimers. The Image was completeled with the glowing tatoos on his suit and the voids of his eyes starting to glow like dark coals, the right eye a spiral.

Cryker Reywynn - Main Gate

The glass detonated before the kick arrived. Propelled by the force from the gas contained within, it unleashed a veritable swarm of splinters at its impact. The impact was as forceful as it was disorienting, the pressurized blast ringing deafeningly loud to anyone in the immediate vicinity. The kick arrived soon after, smashing with brutal force into the chain, plate and padded mail protecting Cryker's midsection. While the damage from the kick was negligible, it sent the already recoiling Cryker reeling backwards. Cryker let out a angry shout, muffled by the explosion. He felt drowsy momentarily, before a wave of energy pulsed through his body, cleansing the feeling, and numbing the pain he was feeling on his face.

With ears ringing, and eyes blinded from the gas, glass and blood in his eyes, Cryker instinctively drew his sword even as he fell backwards, barely managing to stay on his feet. Focusing entirely on his tremorsense, Cryker could barely feel what was happening due to the sheer amount of activity occurring. Charging undead and armed horsemen, guards either falling unconscious from the gas or quickly forming into defensive ranks to hold the bridge.

Dot Maras- Empyrean Palace
Dot rushed after Devon, Priscilla, and Taran into the palace. She readied her bombs before looking at Devon and Taran. "Go take of what you need to do, love. Priscilla and I, and whoever else comes in, will hold down the forte until you two are out of sight. Now go." she said, with a wink as she waved Priscilla close to her. "Stay by me. No questions, no hesitation, just follow orders doll. Alright?" she asked as she readied her axe, eager for blood to decorate the new weapon.

Priscilla Shaw
Priscilla's ears were suddenly filled with the roars and jeers of fighters as the Underground began their assault, causing her to freeze with fear briefly before her master gripped her wrist and began pulling her along. "That boy disappeared.." was all she said before being told to stay quiet. She did as she was told and ran with her master's companion blankly, her mind racing with adrenaline as they ventured through the bridge, past a staggering man with a bloody face. "Alright." She sighed, that strange weapon Jack had given her thumping against her chest beneath her cloak as they ran, her strangely-shaped sword in-hand, while her own vial of that strange knock-out concoction remained in her other, the one being gripped by Devon. "Run" her body told her, but she remained by the master-of-the-ring's side, unsure of why she did so, but knowing that she was doing it.

Dante - Forest Beyond the Gate - At the Bridge's Edge
At Minerva's command to charge, Dante rode forward, jaw clenched in determination. He spared a quick glance at the woman as he saw her wipe away the blood from her nose. It seemed that was a common side effect of powerful magic- Wait... Oh no. Dante blinked before shaking his head. This isn't the time.

He was further brought back to the matter at hand when Minerva shouted out a second command: "We have to get rid of those men up in the tower!"

Dante's eyes travelled upward to the towers firmly planted on either side of the main gate where there were already guards raining down a hailstorm of arrows on anyone who dared to get close. A silver, shimmering bow materialized in Dante's hand as he rode forward, and his eyes turned a solid gold color. "Consider it done," he said to Minerva before taking off. The horse galloped through the crowds of Underground soldiers, both living and dead. Dante took his hands off the reigns, trusting the well-trained horse to maneuver without his guiding hand, and raised his bow. Before the guards in the tower even realized what was happening, three silver arrows were sticking out of a man who had gotten too close to the edge of the tower.

Micah - The Bridge
With his both his heightened speed and fear, it didn't take long for Micah to reach the bridge once more, his mind racing even faster than his legs. As soon as the gate came into view again, he vanished. The boy reappeared on the other side of the second gate, where the soldiers were getting into formation, preparing to defend the second gate after the enemy inevitably passed the first one. Micah let out a loud gasp as he struggled to regain his breath from his run. He might have super speed, but he didn't have the lungs to match. An officer who was making sure the soldiers got into proper formation suddenly whipped his head toward the newcomer, his temper as short as his stature. "What do you think you're doing, soldier?!"

As soon as Micah could get a proper breath of air, he replied: "I- I teleported again... Sir."

The officer closed his eyes momentarily and raised a hand to his forehead, trying his best to stay calm. "We don't have time for this, Private. Either tell me something useful, or get back in formation. Where's your shield?"

Micah looked away guiltily. "I... lost it. But Sir, they have an undead army!"

The officer clenched his teeth. "How many?"

Micah hesitated. He hadn't exactly taking the time to take stock while he was running for his life. "About... Four hundred? Five hundred? It was a lot, Sir, and that's not counting their regular soldiers."

The officer cursed, looking over his own men before looking back at Micah. "Go into the palace, inform the General of our status out here. Tell him we need to contact the Wardens; we'll need reinforcements. Time means lives, soldier."

Micah's eyes widened as he nodded solemnly. "Y-yes Sir." With that, the young guard began to squeeze his way past the other soldiers that had filled the bridge behind the second gate, his face determined as he moved to follow the officer's orders.

Devon Ironsides - Empyrean palace gates

He let Priscilla go as Dot addressed him. "Be careful!" He yelled out to them as he and Taran continued on. There was one more gate between the two of them and the doors to the palace, guards moving to protect the other side in case they got through. "Taran, I've got the gate, you get the feckin' guards!" He called out. Taran nodded and took to the air, using his lightning powers to decimate a good portion of the guards that had aligned on the other side of the gate.

As he approached the gate he stopped time once again. This time for only fifteen seconds, sending three of his most powerful punches to the gate. His knuckles were starting to bleed from the impact of the brass against the steel of the gates, but when he restarted time, sure enough, the gates were blown open by the force of his punches. He could see the skittish guard who was up front earlier making his way to the entrance of the palace. And followed him, hoping to corner him so the guard wouldn't get the ones inside into position.

Hyde Bekele
Empyrean Palace

The jet black crow flew over the battlefield, keeping a close eye on the ground. He could hear Minerva's order to charge the gates echoing through the great valley; the commotion they were drawing was something Hyde was not used to. He was used to infiltrating, doing his job, and leaving, without anyone ever knowing he was there, to begin with, but that didn't mean that he couldn't have the same effect in this scenario. The jet black bird swooped downward with the wind, drawing closer to the group on the bridge before resuming his position higher in the sky. Dot had rushed after Devon, a small child whom he didn't know, and Taran. His target. Hyde paid close attention to him as the group approached the second gate.

Beyond the second gate was the teleporter who had appeared in the middle of the undead army, a rather unfortunate place to teleport. Hyde made a note that the child didn't know how to his ability yet and now that he was retreating into the palace it meant he was calling for reinforcements. The Underground was strong but they would have to move quickly if they wanted to take full control of the palace before the Wardens were summoned. A skip in time. The second gates being taken. Devon... Hyde thought to himself, knowing the time lapse was him. They had already penetrated the Castle's first lines of defense and were now approaching the structure itself; it seemed too easy. Something didn't seem right but the man quickly expelled the thought as Taran entered the castle after Devon.

Hyde flew on the outside of the Castle, looking for a window open just even a crack on the gates level. When he spotted it, he swooped down and perched on the sill. Ensuring that no one was around to see him, the crow changed shapes into a mouse and snuck in through the propped window. The mouse ran down the wall and made its way to the front entrance, keeping a lookout for Devon and Taran.

Minerva, On the bridge

Her heart sped up, adrenaline coursing through her body. She laughed a little, raising her free arm and murmuring a small, but complex incantation. The shadows that wrapped around her hand lunged for the the guards throats. They tried to turn around and run, but her shadows latched onto to them before they could make a few steps down the spiraling staircase. She clenched her fists and the guards immediately reached up for the shadows wrapping around their throats, trying to break free. One set the shadows on fire, burning Minerva's hand as they dissipated in an instant. She growled, reaching out once more, then immediately dragging the guards outside of the window and letting go.

They screamed as they hit the river below with a loud splash. She doubted they would survive. Minerva's horse went through the first open gate seconds after and charged towards the second one. The yelling, screaming, and splattering of blood was like music to her ears. She took out her sword as guards began to flood the area. Her horse wouldn't do good in the narrow pathway any longer. She hopped down from it, smacked its rear, and off it went, away from the commotion. Guards filed on the gate nonstop. There wouldn't be enough time to concentrate and perform any spells, so her sword was the source of everything grand in this moment. Someone slashed out towards her, cutting her arm.

Minerva was no stranger to pain; She didn't cry out and instead, continued to slash and thrust her sword at the six men who came towards her. The cut in her arm hadn't been deep enough to keep it there. Her arm healed in an instant, and she stepped forward towards the guard, sword pointed forward. A swing missed from him and she thrusted her sword into his stomach, dark red blood oozing out. Another victim. She ducked her head at the other oncoming attack and swiveled her leg around to knock him off his feet, then crush his skull with the heel of her foot. She continued to fight on, enjoyment and confidence arising from each kill she made.

Jack- On the bridge

His pulse pounding in his ears, the sounds of war becoming something akin to a melody that everyone was dancing to, the mood was set. Wielding ebony in his right hand and Ivory in his left, both gleaming in the moonlight hungry for blood. The very second his horse's hoofs were audible on the stone bridge Jack stood up both arms outstretched, he leaped into the air and seemed to take on the visage of an angel with black wings decorated with the blood of the guilty and innocent alike. The angel of death.

landing on a guard hard enough to snap his spine. The sound was like a nostalgic song that made you feel alive. He readied himself as he drew the attention of at least 5 guards, one attempted to slashed at Jacks' torso but only found the body of the man that was crushed under her targets boots. Holding the now dead man like he weighted, little more than nothing; kicking the body ushering in more sounds of broken possible shattered bones at the female guard with enough force to send her flying off the bridge, plummeting to the water below, her screams echoed as she went over and joined her fellow wardens the imperator sent to the grave. the 4 remaining guards started to gain up and surrounded him, one using a bow and arrow, while the others had either axes or swords.

Parrying two of the burlier guards with both swords, the two men struggled to push Jack back not even budging him, the suit increasing his already superhuman strength 4 folds. He uses their momentum slipping past the two-man forcing them both to the ground his target the ranger. Dodging the arrows being fired, at an inhuman speed, ebony thrusted forwards straight into the man's head. The back of the skull exploding outwards as a black and red blade made its way through. Turning on a dime the two men charged at him, clearly emotional at the death of their comrades. Jack only sighed as he decapitated them with both blades. However, he did not get out unscathed as he only now noticed that an arrow was in his thigh, only giving it a brief glance before he ripped it out and continued on.

Dot Maras- Empyrean Palace
Dot swiftly worked through the guards that surround her and Priscilla, decapitating a few of them before dropping some more bombs as some others dropped unconcious around her and Priscilla. Dot heard shuffling behind her, metal ringing in the air as it swung down and struck across Dot's back. Giving a small grunt in pain, Dot spun and let her axe slide through the neck of the guard ignoring the her nerves screaming at her from the dep gash in her back. Just as she cleared the small amount of guards around her and her apprentice, she heard the doors of gates away down fly open. "Come on Priscilla, we need to get going." she yelled over the sounds of the battle around them and dashed through the second gates, slashing and beheading whoever was in her way.

Priscilla Shaw
Priscilla was anything but happy, she wasn't a fighter or a killer. She was a thief! And thieves weren't the type to fight in battles. She spent most of her time blocking and weaving her way through blows, barely able to handle it at all because of the simple lack of strength due to fatigue and her young age compared to all these murderous grown men. She felt like screaming every five second but held it back and simply kept up her defences and tried not to die and before she knew it, the attackers were dead and Dot, master of poison, was there. "A-alright.." she heaved and began once more to charge after the small woman, keeping low and watching for any stray blows that may come her way while trying to avoid the ground littered with dead bodies and blood. "This is.. So much worse than all those zombies earlier" she stuttered, bringing her gaze up before it became too sickening to bare. She didn't even know why she was there!

Kat Charter
"Well What do we have here?!" Kat laughed, watching the siege of the palace being run by some evidently large organisation she had heard rumours about, but always dismissed as merely rumours. "This.. This is something else! Either incredibly dumb, or an incredible power-play, but this is just.. unthinkable." Kat called out, floating happily above and letting her voice drift down to those below her while remaining much higher than bow range, just in case. Two of the gates seemed to have been knocked down by a battering ram as hordes of undead and soldiers fought it out on the lengthy pathway to the castle itself. "Who.. Why.? Those are the questions I need answered." She muttered to herself as her two new 'friends' arrived, she was parallel to the ground and was watching down with a bird's eye view, allowing full vision of the scene.

Archer and Kestrel - The Empyrean Palace

Kestrel slammed a palm into the chest of an armored man which caused him to slide back a few yards as he tilted his head to better hear the demoness above him, “I’ll get you your answers,” He smirked. It was rare to see Kestrel show pleasure in causing others pain. Archer noticed this and took a step away from his twin then grinned widely.

“Finally something worthy of getting the shit kicked out of it, aye brother?” Archer asked Kestrel softly as they moved perfectly in sync with each other. The look they carried in their eyes as the smile on Kestrel’s face faded was that of death looking out of them. In a flash of movement they would target the closest person and take them down without mercy. The person might not ever walk again as Archer slammed a foot down on an ankle while Kestrel took out the opposite knee using the same method.

“Answer quickly or die,” Was the calm unfeeling voice that came from the older twin. His straight white hair fell over half of his face. His only visible golden eye looked downright icy. The calm that covered both brothers was the sort that would make even the well trained guards shit themselves.
