--In the Kingdom of Kelle, King George and Queen Eliza have two beautiful daughters. One of these princesses is set to marry a prince from another country unfortunately during his time in the castle the other princess falls for him. This story will be about the one sister who falls for him's struggle to either fight the feelings or her and her sisters argument over the prince. It will be the prince's choice about whether or not he falls for the princess he's been arranged to marry, or the princess who is just meant to be his step sister.--

The day that Prince Scipio Venatrisse was arriving was a big day for everyone. It was an event for everyone, the king and queen were stressed enough as it was but welcoming their eldest daughter's fiance was a traditionally large event in itself. Well that is for the family, it wasn't like they threw a party or anything but the entire family had to be dressed the best they could to greet him. Well that is in King George and Queen Eliza's opinion, they liked to make the best impressions they could on everyone. The king and queen's minds however were bothered with the thoughts of politics, a few of the noble families had been fighting recently and causing issues between the areas they had their light control over.

Meanwhile Marisa wasn't too interested in this whole affair. After all Scipio wasn't her fiance, and her sister had been so intense in trying to make her interests his it almost annoyed Marisa. Actually it did annoy Marisa, why would she have to make herself liked by the prince they were set to be married anyway. Marisa was dressed in a long blue and white striped dress that fit her well, making her look even more immature. It didn't bother her how young she looked, it only increased her need to have to force people to see her as her own age. It was cold in the morning, she didn't like that they had to wait for the prince to arrive. They had received word that he would be there early so the family had to wait to greet them at the entrance to the palace. That meant they were standing outside, the light breeze blowing he long white blonde hair around occasionally as she sighed, standing slightly behind her sister and parents.

Ethel stood proud and tall, chin raised high. She wore her best bertha neck-lined dress, coloured a pale pink with extensive decoration. Her corset was done up tighter than it ever had been before, and she even struggled to breathe somewhat. Even still, she remained looking proud, hands clasped tightly in front of her. Her hair was scraped back into a painfully neat and tight bun, with pieces of her dark hair curled at either side of her face. She gazed out in front of her, whole body suspended, barely moving as she waited for her fiancé to appear. The whole look of her made her look quite a bit older than she was in contrast to her sister.

The older princess sighed, her composure failing ever so slightly in her impatience. It felt like she'd been waiting for ages, especially put together with the fact that she hadn't slept at all the previous night, and it showed, if you paid attention. She stifled a yawn and blinked a few times, trying to focus on the coldness on her bare arms to wake her up.

Scipio took a deep breath as his carriage came through the castle gates. What should I say... he wondered as the carriage slowed to a halt. Stepping out slowly, he stood upon the castle floor with a book tucked under his arm. He has a thick scarf wrapped around his neck, and a dark red cloak covering his body. Upon turning around, he sees the King, Queen, and their daughters. Walking without speaking a word, he stood before them and bowed. "Greetings your Majesties... my name is Scipio Venatrisse." He says and avoids eye contact with the daughters.

The King and Queen smile and welcome him, although they seemed in haste for something. Scipio turns to the daughters now, and recognizes the mature one as Ethel based what he was told. She was very elegant, though she seemed to be much more inviting than he expected. "Hello, Ethel and Marisa... I hope that you will accommodate a guest." He says with an awkward chuckle. He just wanted to be shown to his own room and relax, the trip was stressful enough.

When Ethel opened her eyes after another flurry of blinking, she saw the carriage.

She stifled a gasp, giving one of her small, toothless smiles, though most of her body urged her to lose composure and smile all she wanted. She refused to do so. When spoken to, she bowed her head and curtsied perfectly, maintaining her posture with great accuracy. "It's a great pleasure to finally meet you," she said, voice having tiny hints of happiness underneath the pure formalities

Scipio smiles weakly at the welcoming, his head more concerned with the urgency of the King and Queen. They seemed as if they had something to do rather than greet him.

After the greeting, the King sees his discomfort. "We have a grand guest bedroom waiting for you, Venatrisse. We are sorry, but there is no ball ready just yet. We have some... issues to resolve this week. Ethel, Marisa, would either of you show Scipio to his room to rest?" The King and Queen bow and curtsy to him, then walk away with the same urgency in their step. Scipio nods, and turns his focus to the grand stairs leading upstairs.

Marisa watched quietly as her parents greeted the prince, and then as Ethel did the same. After the people that mattered in this introduction had spoken she curtsied lightly, "Welcome" She spoke politely and simply. She had to hand it to her parents, they had chosen quite the handsome suitor for her sister to be engaged to, which was a bonus since he'd be around the castle for a while. After her parents spoke she quickly turned to them, "Yes Father" She smiled politely before turning back to Scipio and her sister. She knew she had no place in this relationship though it would be rude of her father to just ask Ethel to, and not include Marisa.

A small frown showed on Ethel's face at her parents blatant rush to get back to their politics. The frown quickly wiped away when she - and Marisa - was asked to guide Scipio to his room. She smiled and nodded. "Yes, father," she said obediently.

The tightly corsetted woman turned to her fiancé. "If you would follow me, please," she said, still pleasently smiling. She began to take small steps

"Thank you." He says as he follows the ladies. He walked slower than usual, compensating for Ethel's lack of mobility. Her corset must be cutting her circulation off, he thought to himself noticing how hard she struggled to be proper. He sighs internally to himself, although flattered by the effort put into pleasing him.

As they walked up the stairs, he tried his best to help them up the steps. Anticipating his room, he imagined his life in the castle. It was fairly different from his homeland, although still very ornate. "Do you have a library, by chance?" He asks curiously to the daughters.

Marisa felt sorry for her sister. The corset on her sister was tighter than usual considering it was the day that she met her fiance. "Yes of course" Marisa smiled in response to his question about the library. It was one of her favorite places in the palace considering there was an easel in there, and the books always provided a nice subject for drawing and painting. That and the few windows in the room had good views of the castle. "Its quite large in the east wing of the castle" she smiled lightly.

Ethel gazed into the guest room admiringly, noting how it looked grander than her own did. She turned her head at mention of a library and smiled. "Why, of course," she said, tilting her head with her smile. "You just have to go back downstairs and..." she listed off a few short directions that weren't all that difficult to follow. "We have the most brilliant selection of mystery novels, you'll see." She paused a few seconds. "Would you like me to take you?" She asked.

"That will not be necessary... although it sounds nice." Scipio responds, and walks into his room. Taking off his cloak, he was wearing a white dress shirt and black pants. He had a leather belt with a large bronze buckle, along with polished black shoes. He sets his book on the bed, and sighs quietly in relief.

"You have been most inviting, thank you." He says to the daughters waiting at the door of his room. His dark eyes showed little emotion, although his exhaustion and stress was written on his face. He started to take more notice to Ethel and Marisa, they were very beautiful. Although, he didn't like them on that level until he knew them on a deeper level.

Ethel nodded slightly, hiding some disappointment within her. As soon as she got a good look at his face, she first noticed how handsome he was, and second noticed how tired he was. She stifled a sigh. "You're very tired. We'll leave you to get some rest." She said, speaking on behalf of her sister. She gave the prince a last smile and slowly closed the door. "Don't bother him now, Marisa."

Marisa nodded lightly, "You must be tired from the journey here" She mentioned knowing the capitol was in the center of the medium sized castle. This meant he must have been on the road for a few days at least if the conditions were good. "Yes Ethel" She smiled in response to her sister respectfully to the older one, she didn't want to bother him though she knew her sister was eager to get to know her fiance. It was cute how excited she was though she didn't know what the prince felt about it. He didn't seem as excited though it may just be exhaustion, she knew how taxing trips could be. Marisa was often the one that went to visit other countries for parties and things, as she was the least important to the country

Scipio laughed to himself slightly at that. Laying in his bed, he took deep breaths and relaxed. He meant to get back up and explore a bit, but he fell asleep on the bed within two minutes. Dreaming vividly of Ethel and various spontaneous memories, he had a slight grin on his face as he was deeply asleep.

He dreamed of kissing her and reading together, although it faded into him dreaming more about his books than anything.

After leaving the room Marisa made her way down to the library. She had an unfinished painting down there that she had begun early in the morning that she wanted to continue. Carefully she sat at her place by the window and began to pain the vivid colors. In the library not only were there beautiful books but there were different sculptures and lighting from the windows.

Ethel smiled somewhat proudly at her younger sister, pleased with how grown up she was being. "Thank you," she said. "I'll be in my own bedroom if anyone needs me." She told her sister. Smiling again, she turned around and trotted to her room, still walking painfully slow and with small steps. When she was back in her room, she found one of the maids packing away some of her clothes. "Oh dear, please loosen this up for me!" She plead, running her hands over the corset. The maid hurried around and untied the knot, loosening the binding. Ethel sighed in relief. "Oh, thank you." She breathed, sitting down on her bed. "Please make sure it's redone before Scipio sees me again."

((Sorry about this, but I've got to get to bed. You guys can keep going if you want and I'll see you when I get online again! :) ))

Scipio is dreaming fondly of folklore, yet it suddenly was disrupted by a muffled voice. As he came to, he noticed a maid was waking him up.

"Sir Venatrisse, supper is prepared." The lady tells him when she noticed he was now awake.

Getting up from bed, his hair was a mess and his clothing wrinkled. He felt mildly groggy but even more refreshed from the wonderful nap. Straightening up his outfit, he left the room with the maid. The halls were beautiful, and the smooth stone bricks made an echoing of their footsteps. He saw how servants occupied the halls, but few nobles were present. Arriving at the Dining Hall, he took his seat at one of the chairs. He saw a feast before him, but only he was there.

"Where are the others, might I ask?" Scipio asks the maid in curiosity as he prepares his bowl of porridge and fills a goblet of ale.

"The King and Queen are currently concerned with a small issue going on, and the princesses are dressing. They should be here shortly, Prince Scipio." The maid says before heading back down the halls.

Not wanting to be rude, he waited patiently for the others. While sipping from his goblet he found himself occupied with the dining hall decor. There was a different aesthetic to the place, and he liked it.

Marisa painted for a long while before her personal maid Lilliana approached her, reminding her of her duties to appear at supper. "Princess, supper is prepared. You should change before going to the dining hall" The woman who had been with Marisa since she was a baby spoke softly, not wanting to interrupt her.

"Yes, thank you Lilliana" Marisa smiled as she set her small pallet on the table next to her and following the maid to her chambers. There she changed into another dress which was very similar to the one she'd been wearing. It was dark blue with three quarter length sleeves and a tight corset. Apparently the presence of another royal was causing her dresses to have to be tighter as well. Soon enough she was able to make her way to the dining hall, as she did her maid informed her that it would just be the prince, her and her sister for supper since their parents were dealing with politics. Great. She sighed internally not exactly happy to have to have a meal with a soon to be married couple. Despite her hesitance she arrived at dinner before her sister, smiling lightly at the prince as she attempted to hide the paint stains that Lillianna had pointed out right before they'd entered the room. She was aware that it wasn't proper to be messy so she held her hands behind her back as she walked to her seat. "Good afternood Sir" She smiled bowing her head.

Scipio was staring at a sculpture perched on the archways when his focus was snapped by her approach.

"Good evening, Madam." He says in a raspier voice than their first meeting. He clears his throat afterwards and puts on a brief smile, his grogginess started to wear off slowly. It slowly crept into his mind that he was officially in a foreign castle, and that he was no more than a guest in their minds. Not letting this thought scare him, he sips more from his goblet. Where could Ethel be, he wondered to himself as his mind wandered off again.

His entire future would be based on this castle. This was his life now, marry a princess and live happily ever after. That never happened, not even in the happiest of books. Becoming a benevolent and stoic King was what was planned for him, but surely he couldn't own the throne here. Things would clear out eventually... he hoped Ethel was everything they said she was, yet he hoped she was more unique than they said she was as well. His inner conflict and contradictions began to grow in his mind while he sat there at the Dining Hall.

"My sister will be here soon sir" Marisa informed him softly, she wasn't sure what was keeping her sister but it was clear that he wished her to be there rather than Marisa. The prince seemed a bit distant, probably still a bit tired as they sat at the table alone together. It was cute how he wanted to get to know her sister and see him though she found herself wishing he'd do the same for her. She quickly dismissed the thought as she barely knew the prince and he was betrothed to her sister. "How was your rest sir?"
