Ver's Very Own Vagabonds

Ver

Endearing Misanthrope
The Convergence Series GM
Hi hi, it's just Ver, presenting a versatile group of vibrant vagabonds. Also it's too much trouble to keep looking for fun words that start with "v" so that'll be that from there. A vocabulary like that, if you would.

This'll just be a little place for me to plop some of my OCs that I've created over my RP career and remember enough to desire archiving somewhere. Don't mind me.

The characters presented here are basically umbrella sheets that can be tweaked easily and applied to other settings as needed, but as presented here are how they're generally "supposed" to be depicted, as originally conceived.

Depending on what ideas you can bring to me, if you ask, I might be open to a 1x1 with one of them.

Name

Kylie Heidrich, also known as Blitz in some circles

Appearance

1laUHY1.jpg

A girl of 5'5, Kylie's height does little to emphasize her youth when her rough facial features make her look a decent deal older. She has purple eyes, holds a slender yet firm build, pale to fair skin, and blonde hair tied into a long ponytail, probably her most noticeable feature. Her casual attire generally consists of a black dress shirt over a white t-shirt and a pair of short shorts, along with thigh-high socks.

Age

Roughly 17-19 years old, depending on the RP in question

Gender

Female

Orientation

Bisexual

Personality

- Serious-minded, no-nonsense, kinda angry often
- Moody, emotionally distant
- Practical, prefers to think things logically
- Maybe just a little nicer than she lets on deep down?
- Can be eager and reckless at times
- Unstable and volatile as well

History / Bio

In a world with your traditional superheroes and supervillains, Kylie, along with her twin brother Klaus, were born to a loving mother and her husband who, initially unbeknownst to the mother, was the notorious supervillain known as "Kraft," who maintained a civilian identity that none of his nemeses ever knew of. Kraft had intended to father his children and condition them into becoming his apprentices in his villainous schemes, but upon realizing her husband's true identity, the children's mother, horrified, took her babies and left her husband, reporting his identity to the authorities and letting herself be placed under protection, going into hiding and raising her children with the help of her brother, the children's uncle.

As such, Kylie and Klaus grew up never knowing about their father, especially as their mother and uncle insisted on never delving into detail, even as the questions continued to pile up as Kylie and Klaus discovered their powers, both of whom had the same basic functions. Despite this, Kylie grew up as a wide-eyed, bubbly youth, extroverted and energetic as much as one could expect from a little girl, while her brother, on the other hand, was a more withdrawn, introverted youth. The two grew up closely, with Kylie even daring to stand up for her brother in the fact of bullies in their youth and, and lived a mostly normal life from there, even if Klaus's introverted and anti-social personality only gradually worsened over time.

However, Kylie's life changed, just as she and Klaus had finished high school, fittingly enough. Their father was finally able to track down the family's whereabouts and devised a plan to "steal" Kylie and Klaus back from their mother and uncle. To that end, when Kraft had come to take his children back, everything had changed. Upon realizing the truth that his father was a notorious villain, Klaus undergoes a mental breakdown and attacks his father, tapping into his power and seemingly killing Kraft, as well as his own mother in the process inadvertently. From there, Klaus disappeared, leaving Kylie alone with her uncle, and from there, Kylie underwent her own breakdown, going through a complete personality change as her life was suddenly left in shambles.

The subsequent weeks, Kylie's relationship with her uncle, her only family left, quickly began to sour, and after a while, she left the care of her uncle, setting out in hopes of understanding her new powers by herself and bringing her brother home.

As seen in Aorki's School for the Especially Gifted, in which "mutants" are a new evolutionary point in humankind and are persecuted for their differences. A small reference for how I've tweaked her before.

It would be difficult for anyone at the school to believe it, but for the first several years of her life, Kylie Heidrich was your average, wide-eyed adolescent girl, more smiley and bubbly in her youth than any one of her fellow students could ever dare imagine today.

Kylie was born to a German father and an American mother (a mutant at that), growing up alongside an older brother. Both Kylie and her brother turned out mutants as well, developing their powers at an early age. Between financial struggles and the stigma of being a mutant, life was never exactly easy for Kylie, especially in a place like America, but she had always tried to power through with a smile on her face for the sake of her family, her brother more notably demonstrating an openly cynical persona toward humans.

However, the only thing that rewarded her optimism came in the form of a tragedy, when Kylie was 12. As it was known within her community that she and her family were mutants save for her father, they had always faced a degree of persecution and prejudice, but everything had changed when her mother was killed at the height of such tensions, a hate crime as it were. Almost immediately following that, her brother became a runaway, leaving behind Kylie and their father in the midst of their grief. To this day, Kylie does not know what became of him, and can only hope that he had not gone off the deep end despite his cynical nature, even if hope had forsaken her already.

These rapid chain of events created a drastic shift in Kylie's personality, causing her to become far more angry and emotionally withdrawn. Her relationship with her father, the only family member still around now, even soured as the two of them became distant from each other.

When Kylie came of age, her father wasted little time in shipping her off to New Zealand upon discovering the new school for mutants without much of an explanation, as though he were eager to get her away from him, or at least, that's the way she sees it.

This version, who has a normal father, is written with the intended character development in mind of reconciling with her father and discovering the true reason behind his cold attitude toward her.

Equipment

Depends on the situation. Originally conceived with a taser or baton, as stolen from a police officer.

Powers / Abilities / Skills

  • Enhancement - Kylie's most prominent power. The term is broad and refers to a great many implications, but the basic gist of her power is that she is able to make herself stronger or her abilities more potent in some manner to an unknown extent (as none of her limits have ever been properly tested yet due to more enhancement requiring more concentration) in different ways or "classes," the effect being visible and demonstrated through the "enhanced" area taking on a more metallic, almost armored look.
    • Concrete - The most obvious application of her power. Kylie can use Enhancement to make any part of her body stronger and / or more efficient, which can include enhancing her arms to provide her with superhuman strength, her legs to provide speed and jump at great heights, her eyes for superhuman sight, or evenly distribute her power all around her body for enhanced durability. In this regard, her power manifests in the form of a sort of metallic "armor." She can also use her power on other people, though it should be noted that she is weakened for as long as the other party uses her power, as though she had loaned it and needs it to be "given back" once its use is fulfilled.
    • Abstract - The other "class" of enhancement. Kylie can also, if so desired, enhance more abstract parts of herself, including enhancing her reflexes, perception, thinking speed, healing factor, and so on. This is significantly more difficult for Kylie to perform than the "concrete" class, but with enough practice, she hopes to be able to hone this well enough. As she is now though, she prefers not to use it very much for the time being.
    • Connection - If Kylie feels so inclined, she can apply her power to other people as well, as implied above. Basic concepts include shielding someone else with her own enhancing ability, but she cannot use that same given ability type when it is in use from someone else. For example, if she uses her Concrete application to protect another person's exterior, she can only use her Abstract application on herself from there, and vice versa. On top of that, she also has to manually "take back" the power as well when she sees fit.
      • Calamity - When sufficiently angry, Kylie is able to "drain" a person's own energy in order to significantly weaken them and make herself stronger at their expense, as her Calamity application can be said to be the other side of the coin as Connection. Calamity can be attained without the need for physical interaction as she can exhibit an "aura" to make a target feel ill, though this power is mostly unknown to her in most scenarios she would be written into until further development. Calamity can also be used to temporarily conjure new powers if Kylie uses this on another powered individual.

Weaknesses

On top of Kylie's power being able to tire her out if she overuses it in a given time, at least as a novice with her power, depending on how much energy she outputs, she is generally able to only able to significantly enhance one area at a time, as in, she can either be strong enough to pick up a car or be fast enough to outrun a car at a given time, but she can't have both. However, she can easily distribute her power in this manner if the degree of enhancement is not as intensive, essentially striking a moderate balance if needed.

Also, if faced with enough resistance, a given reinforced part of her body may end up shattering and her powers are susceptible to being disabled for a period of time. For example, Kylie may enhance her body to the degree that she can withstand bullets, but if she were blasted with a grenade launcher, the "armor" built up around her body would shatter and be disabled temporarily. On top of that, as her enhancement acts as an additional layer of skin, or it can be described as such, her "armor" can be bypassed by those who might be able to target her internal systems.

Other

Generally most suited for urban fantastical settings, such as anything with a "superhero" motif, though she can be reworked and tweaked for specific occasions through discussion.

When she was originally conceived, Kylie's powers were a result of nanomachines being planted into her body as a baby, but depending on the RP she's featured in, it can instead either be that she naturally developed them due to being the child of a powered person, or something else.

Lowkey bad at cooking but wants to get better.

Name

Klaus Heidrich, also known as Krieg

Appearance

9qMHAxB.jpg

A young man of about 5'7, Klaus's most striking feature is his almost sickly looking pale skin, with even his short hair looking as though it had been bleached slightly, but is still visibly blonde, similar to his sister, but unlike his sister, Klaus has light yellow eyes. Klaus also has a firm, athletic build, and usually sports a blue dress shirt with a tie underneath a black jacket, as well as gloves. He usually dresses neatly despite his almost sickly appearance, akin to an old timey gangster, at least in his own eyes.

Age

Roughly 17-19 years old, depending on the scenario

Gender

Male

Orientation

Bisexual

Personality

- Superstitious, notably believes in matters like absolute fate and destiny
- Flamboyant, loud-mouthed, always wants to take charge of every situation he's in, and domineering to that end
- Lacks any sort of empathy, acts purely on his own whim and self-interest, even if at the expense of others
- Restless, enjoys exerting himself through fighting and other similar means

History / Bio

In a world with your traditional superheroes and supervillains, Klaus, along with his twin sister Kylie, were born to a loving mother and her husband who, initially unbeknownst to the mother, was the notorious supervillain known as "Kraft," who maintained a civilian identity that none of his nemeses ever knew of. To that end, when Kraft had come to take his children back, everything had changed. Upon realizing the truth that his father was a notorious villain, Klaus underwent a mental breakdown and attacks his father, tapping into his strange power and seemingly killing Kraft, as well as his own mother in the process inadvertently. From there, Klaus disappeared, leaving Kylie alone with her uncle, and from there, Kylie underwent her own breakdown, going through a complete personality change as her life was suddenly left in shambles.

A complete wreck emotionally, Klaus undergoes a complete personality shift, becoming a wholly different person, and with that, begins a whole new life, free of the shackles of his old life in order to forge a new one for himself.

Equipment

A chain that he uses as a weapon. Contrary to the faceclaim, it is not, in fact, on a collar. He just carries it around.

Powers / Abilities / Skills

  • Enhancement - Klaus's most prominent power. The term is broad and refers to a great many implications, but the basic gist of his power is that he is able to make himself stronger or his abilities more potent in some manner to an unknown extent (as none of his limits have ever been properly tested yet due to more enhancement requiring more concentration) in different ways or "classes," the effect being visible and demonstrated through the "enhanced" area taking on a more metallic, almost armored look.
    • Concrete - The most obvious application of the power. Klaus can use Enhancement to make any part of his body stronger and / or more efficient, which can include enhancing his arms to provide him with an extra strength boost, his legs to provide increased speed, his eyes for a boost in his vision, or evenly distribute his power all around his body for a layer of dermal armor. In this regard, his power manifests in the form of a sort of metallic "armor."
    • Abstract - The other "class" of enhancement. Klaus can also, if so desired, enhance more abstract parts of himself, including enhancing his reflexes, perception, thinking speed, healing factor, miscellaneous senses, and so on. He has a better grasp on this power than his sister does, in comparison, and is able to use it to his advantage.
    • Connection - Klaus can also apply his power to other people as well. It works in just about the same way as Kylie's version does, though perhaps not as potently since he uses this less often in favor of Calamity. When he does use Connection, however, he is not bound to the same weaknesses of it that Kylie does, most notably requiring physical contact to go through the trouble of taking the Connection back.
    • Calamity - Klaus's most prominent application of his Enhancement power, where he is able to "drain" a person's own energy in order to significantly weaken them and make himself stronger at their expense. Calamity can be attained without the need for physical interaction as he can exhibit an "aura" to make a target feel ill, and can also be used to temporarily "absorb" others' powers if Klaus uses this on another powered individual, though he cannot rob another powered individual of their own power, only "learn" them.

  • Kraft - The power drained from his father and permanently made to be a part of him after Klaus had killed him. Klaus is granted with superhuman strength, speed, and durability, even without his Enhancement power, though to what degree of how stronger he has become is ambiguous. More prominently, with Kraft, he can modify vectors to a limited extent, particularly the vector of velocity for certain objects in motion, including even people. Some could interpret this as emulating superhuman strength even further, as with but a flick of the wrist, he can send anyone or anything with a reasonable mass flying at unprecedented speeds. He can even throw objects of very light weight at stunning speeds, and as such, in his hands, even objects such as plain pieces of paper can be as dangerous as daggers with his power.
    • Influence - It is believed that on top of the breakdown upon realizing the true identity of his father and inadvertently killing his own mother, inheriting his father's power contributed to Klaus's insanity, being the cause for his body's changes in appearance and his personality shift.

Weaknesses

On top of Klaus's power being able to tire him out if he overuses it in a given time, at least as a novice with his power, depending on how much energy he outputs, he is generally able to only able to significantly enhance one area at a time, just like his sister, though with his base strength being greater than Kylie's and inheriting his father's own power, he is able to overcome some weaknesses that his sister otherwise has greater trouble with.

However, if faced with enough resistance, a given reinforced part of his body may end up shattering and his Enhancement powers are susceptible to being disabled for a period of time, the same weakness that befalls his sister, but is able to subvert it to an extent as his base stats are greater than Kylie's.

Other

Originally conceived as a side character or villain to any RP featuring Kylie as the main character, but can be tweaked as liked to fit other scenarios. Still, like before, he is generally best suited for urban / modern fantasy settings, mostly notably those with a superhero motif.
