I can not agree more about this. When I posted, I was under the understanding of creating new names for characters in a fantastical setting. But when it comes to naming a character that is supposed to fit into a certain culture, particularly modern cultures here on Earth, just go with that...

I would welcome more rivalry based relationships for my characters to be honest, so long as it isn't based on an out-of-character rivalry.

Wow, that is annoying. Admittedly, I enjoy role-plays where you have to ask permission to engage in combat with another character. However, require permission to hit back is absurd. Sounds to me like that player was a bully and just acting out that desire through their characters.

I may be amenable to trying to write that with you. USUALLY, I keep to fantasy, but lately I've been playing a lot of survival video games, and figured, why not try a survival RP.

I have some questions about your survival RP. How much previous knowledge of survival do you expect, given that they are mountaineers? How about Alaska? I've only been there once. Otherwise it may be interesting. And I have a LOT of free time.
