Your eyes shot open as you bolted upright, what happened? Something was wrong, you could remember everything yesterday just fine but then everything grew fuzzy. You look around. You were in a small blank room, totally bare save for the cot you were laying on. You try to get up but hear a crinkle, in your lap was a note on a plain piece of paper, written in your native language.

Welcome to Universe 4R-C4D-14, or as the citizens of this fine place like to call it, Arcadia!

"What is this place?" You may ask, well, to be honest, no one knows. Those who possess the abilities to travel through the multiverse s all say that Arcadia isn't like a normal universe, there's no indication that it even exists outside of its boundaries. Arcadia impossible to reach, unless it chooses you.

Everyone in Arcadia has the same story, they woke up here. The memories of their past intact except for just what occurred to bring them here. Everyone is confused and just as trapped.

Not that this is a bad thing! No not at all! As you can see, Arcadia is a city. A giant one at that, no one has yet to actually make it out of the city's boundaries but, is that really a bad thing? It has everything anything could ever need. Entertainment, nature, housing, even jobs. Most people here simply accept that there's no leaving this place and start a new life, sometimes their friends from different universes are here too. That's the thing, only one person from each universe seems to appear in Arcadia, but with the sheer amount of multiverses and the fact that new people appear every day there's a good likely hood you can find a version of a friend, rival, loved one, or even enemy from a universe similar enough to your own to have the same memories as the individual from your own universe. So you're never really alone!

But if you're curious, there seems to be a past to Arcadia. It seems that long ago this place was abandoned. No one knows who the first to arrive here was but there are strange writings located around the city, in sewers, houses, and trees. All bearing the same message.

"
From the collapse, we shall rise."

What this means is unknown, there were no stories of any sort of catastrophe in Arcadia, and even those who have been here longest have no idea what this means. But there's always room for more investigation if you feel so inclined.

Now, onto the things you need to know about living here:

Arcadia can be seen as paradise, you cannot age, die, or grow ill. Families torn apart can reunite and second chances can be had for all. But for some, this permanent peace can drive them mad. Death cannot occur but The Sleep has taken its place. The Sleep is another mystery of Arcadia, sometimes someone who has lost all hope and craves an end will go to sleep and remain that way. They breathe, slightly. But that is all. No one has awoken from The Sleep and victims of it are often taken by those who love them and put to rest in their homes. If not, the city takes them and keeps them at the Sleeping Ward of Arcadia hospital. An endless expanse of beds, each one holding a Sleeper.

Now! Onto lighter stuff! Arcadia, like its people, is incapable of death. Damage to buildings recovers within hours and fights cause no real damage to the participating parties, bystanders, or surrounding area. Incredibly destructive fights are discouraged and the Law Enforcement will be sent to deal with the troublemakers though. So be careful!

Jobs can be obtained and money can be traded, while it's not really necessary as normal human needs are minimal, it can be a way to keep some normalcy.

The city of Aradia is gigantic, as I said before. But it's hard to get lost here. Just keep your destination in mind and keep walking. You'll get there.

Well, it

You flip the paper over.

looks like I'm running out of writing room and I'm running out of stuff to write about. There's plenty of people here willing to teach you the ropes. Have fun!

At the bottom of the back of the piece of paper was what looked like a crudely made map of Arcadia City. It was a perfect circle divided into pie slices, each section denoting a different part of the city. There was "residences", "shopping", "businesses", "entertainment", and more. In the center of the circle was a smaller circle marked "hub" with markings indicating easy travel to all the other sections from here. You put the paper down and stand, walking over to the plain white door. Exiting it you find yourself with a giant fancy train station, minus the trains. This would take some getting used to, well. You steel yourself, time to start your new life.
