Summary: Fighter is the one word that could describe Jacob. Being a teenager during the California Gold Rush could make any simple farm boy from Missouri into a fighter. Mainly though, he did it because he had to take care of his family when their father was running wild with dreams of gold. As their father led the family to California on foot, Jacob did his best to fight for their survival. But no one can fight storms that take away supplies or diseases that don’t end. When they arrived at California, Jacob only had his little sister Jane, and a man crazed for gold. When their father sold Jane to a djinn for gold, Jacob fought to keep her. He won, but so did the djinn. For now, the djinn had a new hellhound instead of a bride.
As a hellhound, Jacob was hard to control. He was always burning, always resisting, always fighting. It made him a strong and fierce hellhound, but not a good one. Abaddon, the djinn, would have to break Jacob’s legs so that the pain kept Jacob from attacking those around him or Abaddon. Sometimes even that was not enough to stop Jacob. Still, if Abaddon wanted something found and dragged back (maybe worse for wear) Jacob was sure to deliver.
Jacob hates Dezire. She broke his collar. She made him human. Being a hellhound was always about hunting and fighting, Fighting, FIGHTING. Being a human again meant thoughts and emotions. The anger (burning, raw, and painful) simmering underneath his skin, ready to spark and explode at any moment, that was Dezire’s fault. She made him feel again, and he was going to drag her back to hell to get rid of his emotions, of his anger. Though, there is Chip. Chip makes him feel, happy, playful, not angry. Chip makes Jacob stay. Which is dangerous because staying with Chip and Dezire means Jacob remembers and feels things. Staying with them, Jacob considers not fighting.
Other: As a hellhound and a human, Jacob is quick to fight with his hands. Throwing punches or restraining his opponent (putting his paws on top of them as he bites their shoulder or throat) as they tire themselves out is his first move. If neither works he'll try to bite at his opponent with his strong jaw. Or if restrained he will bite at his restraints. As a human, he resorts to head butting because his jaw is annoyingly small (he will still try to or react by biting if restrained). His human form is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs roughly 150. His hellhound size is 4 feet 3 inches to his shoulder standing.
