Biography: Isaia was born to a small tribe of Plain Walkers that had allowed a research outpost to be built in their migratory path. Four times a year her people would spend a week trading with the aliens, getting food if times were tough, learning stories of other worlds if curious, and generally having a good time. For Isaia at least it was fun, for the off worlders being surrounded by large mammals that could cut their throat with a single kick and had a habit of peering a little too intently at them if may not have been as amusing. Venandi tribes are tight knit, strangers rarely enter one and members rarely leave, Isaia was satisfied with her nomadic life and never thought of ever leaving her family and friends for another tribe, let alone a new planet. That is until one fateful night, there had been drought in the plains recently and a dry thunderstorm caused a lightning strike to hit a dead tree. The plains were ablaze and the researchers of the outpost who had been hosting Isaia’s tribe outside their building offered them to come inside as the state of the art metal and concrete would resist the blaze and the air filtration system would keep their lungs clean. They agreed without hesitation and soon were given a room to sleep in until the blaze died down. It was the middle of the night when Isaia awoke from a startling dream and decided to pace a bit to wear herself back to sleep. While she paced, she overheard a pair of researchers discussing a ship designed to travel into another galaxy, a journey that would take light years and end on a newly terraformed planet. The ship’s name was the Rendezvous and Isaia made herself known to both researches before requesting access to the ship. The two were hesitant at first but provided her with a tablet and a contract within it. After a bit of struggling and reading aloud, the contract was signed with a clumsy signature and the very next morning Isaia bid goodbye to her family forever, and boarded a vessel that would take her an a researcher also going on the journey to the spaceport that docked the Rendezvous.

Personality: Like the rest of her species, Isaia is difficult for strangers to be around. It’s not that she’s overly hostile, she understood what she was getting into when she boarded the Rendezvous, she would likely be the only one of her kind and would need to get along with others. She does, at least to her she does. But to others… She has the trademark bluntness and intensity her species is known for. In the Venandi culture she would be considered rather warm, being the first to interact with strangers and try new things, but here it’s difficult for her to express her emotions in a way that most other species are used to, she doesn’t bother trying anyway. She finds it annoying to be something she isn’t.

Venandi cuisine is simply cooked meats and water. Isaia was at first hesitant when she tried a meat that was seasoned but quickly grew to enjoy it. Now she fancies herself an amature chef and like to create food for her friends. She’s terrible at it. Don’t tell her that though.

Gear: After some coercing, the CUS allowed Isaia to bring a non regulation dagger made from bronze on board the Rendezvous with the condition that she keep it in a lock box that is kept with the belongings of the other colonists who are still frozen. She also still wears her skirt and bronze jewelry (except for her gauntlet on her right hand, it is in storage with her dagger). For the sake of modesty she also wears a Rendezvous issued dark blue flight jacket over her top.

Specific Needs: Being larger Isaia needs a lot more oxygen to function correctly, while the Rendezvous is oxygen rich it’s not as much as her home world so she runs out of breath easily and if over exerted or overly emotional can pass out. Canisters of pure oxygen are supplied in several parts of the ship in case of emergency.

She also is unable to read, while Isaia is bilingual to her native tongue and common no one in her tribe was capable of it as it was necessary.

Quote: “I do not like this floor. It makes me slip. Metal is nothing like packed dirt.” -Isaia’s thoughts on the Rendezvous’ plated floors.

Name: Leoril
Gender: Male
Orientation: Flustered Heterosexual (Still trying to figure out love, explained more in racial description)
Age: Twenty Four
Species: Animus
Species Description: Link
Race: Not Available
Racial/Class Abilities: Super Strength, Extreme Emotional States
Appearance: (I’m including a link to a basic picture Okami and I made of Leoril, so if you’re not up for reading, here you go.)

The Animus look very similar to humans, and Leoril is no exception aside from his team heart (and why he’d be taking his shirt off in front of a stranger is up for debate anyway). Leoril is about five feet, six inches tall and weighs about four hundred pounds due to the metal that makes up about twenty percent of his body. Of course, this metal is so ingrained into him even a sensitive person wouldn’t be able to tell he was made of it, his flesh is still malleable as a human. Leoril dyed his hair a few weeks before setting off, so his roots of his hair are black, while the rest of it is red (which just so happens to be the color of empathy). Leoril’s skin is tan, and his body shape is relatively fit.

Leoril (at the time of waking up) wears only a t-shirt, shorts, and socks, which was all he had on when he was frozen. His M-Suit is still in storage, which means his blue veins aren’t actively available at the moment. His tela heart is visible through his t-shirt, as it lightly glows.

Biography: Leoril’s home planet (he isn’t one hundred percent sure if he was born there or not) is Earth, and being an Animus, he had a generally easy time blending into the environment. Adopted by a foreman of a space vessel drive core company, Leoril spent his days serving as a heavy lifter for the company until he was sixteen, where he bid his fellow coworkers goodbye in a tearful spectacle the lasted about half a day and set off to may his own fortune. Needless to say, he was almost sold into slavery, had his organs stolen, and used as a welfare scam until he was taken in by an orphanage until he turned twenty-one.

By this point in his life, Leoril had finally developed some sort of street smarts, and with the funds he had available at the time, Leoril rented out a flat with two humans his age. For a few years, these three lived together putting what paltry money they had available to keep themselves fed and clothed. These were the happiest years of Leoril’s life unexpectedly, as this freedom and friendship helped make up for the close shaves he had come into contact with during his lifetime. This changed, however, when the offer for the Rendezvous came to their door. Leoril, being a Animus, was uncommon on Earth at the time (the Animus generally were a spacefaring race) and since the Seed Class ship’s goal was to collect as many species as possible the opportunity for an Animus was great. Leoril’s two flatmates were ecstatic at the opportunity to leave Earth and encouraged him to sign up (since he was allowed to bring the family along, so his two roommates signed up as his adoptive parents). Leoril was extremely nervous about leaving his home behind, but fell for the peer pressure and signed on.

Little did he know, when he was thawed, his two best friends were still in cryosleep…

Personality: Even for an Animus, Leoril is fragile emotionally due to him never having a real family. Most Animus are picked up by either groups who understand their needs or other members of their species. Leoril wasn’t raised by bad people per say, but he never received the “training” that most receive in their youth. This makes Leoril hyper-emotional, even by his species standard.

Despite his mild issues with emotions, Leoril has a good heart. His time in the orphanage taught him the importance of empathy, which was a trait he tends to take too far, often putting himself out there in situations that don’t really require him to do so. Leoril’s biggest issue tends to be that he lacks the foresight to see that trying to make friends should be less of a priority over good judgment. Leoril’s life at the apartment had made him almost addicted to companionship in any form. Of course, this meant he was easy to deceive.

Bluntly put, to strangers Leoril’s personality can be grating, but to close friends his personality is what makes him-him.

Finally, Leoril’s two flatmates once tried setting him up on a date, but quickly realized any sort of romantic affection towards him might be interpreted as true love by him. They never had the chance to explain the difference before they set off on the Rendezvous.

Gear: M-Suit (Blue)
Specific Needs: May require therapy/special counseling/hugs depending on how well his date went
Quote: “I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry! I’m really, really sorry!” -Leoril after accidentally running a red light
