The DOOM Eater
Segmentum: Pacificus
Sector: Clusius
Subsector: Tiber
System: Scaevola
Status: Aboard Strike Cruiser Merciless Interdiction, drifting into orbit over Scaevola Secunda

The members of Kill-Team Eschaton had been sitting idle for the past to months as the Merciless Interdiction slipped silently into the system, waiting for orders. Other agents had been operating within the system, sniffing out threats to the Imperium, identifying heretics and preparing to purge them in one fell swoop. Now, it seemed the time to strike had arrived. Kill-Team Eschaton received orders to assemble in deck 13's observation chamber for briefing. All would be made clear then.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
Rules

  • This is the standard 'I'm the GM, what I say goes' statement. That said, if you think I do something unfair, feel free to call me out on it. I'm an understanding guy and like to sort out issues neatly and civilly.
  • If you have a problem with someone's actions or words (OOC or IC), don't bring it up in the RP, take it to me. It's not always easy to tell if someone's getting upset through text, and I want to avoid and arbitrate any and all drama that might arise.
  • Don't God-Mod, meta-game, autohit, etc.

Posting Expectations

  • Please try to post once a week. If you can't, let me know so we can move on without thinking you're inactive. Inactive characters will be controlled by me and may die spontaneously.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling. It's just common courtesy for everyone reading your posts.
  • 1 paragraph post minimum.

Character Guidelines
  • As your characters are members of a Kill-Team, it is expected that they have some form of combat proficiency.
  • Inquisitor Case is a Radical Inquisitor. She abides and sometimes encourages unorthodoxy in her agents. She is not above recruiting abhumans, mutants or even some xenos to assist her. (Just remember that if you chose a xenos character, you must provide a good enough reason for the Inquisition to accept your services.)
  • Inquisitor Case is reclusive and enigmatic, operating almost exclusively through agents and intermediaries and only revealing herself for the most critical of operations. As such, your character will have been recruited by one of her agents or interrogators, and will likely never have met her.
  • Be prepared for character interactions deeper than combat actions: there will be inter-mission interludes expressly for this purpose.

Inquisitor Heneria Case, Ordo Hereticus
Appearance: <REDACTED>
Inquisitor Case prefers to keep her hands clean of fieldwork, instead employing and organizing a vast network of spies, informants and agents to identify potential problems, dozens of acolyte cells to investigate and deal with threats to the Imperium, and a handful of kill-teams, meant to eliminate noteworthy threats. Trusted senior agents and her Interrogators receive orders directly from her and disseminate information down to lesser agents and cells, keeping Heneria's organization as self-contained as possible.

The location and nature of Inquisitor Case's headquarters, referred to as 'Orbis', is unknown to all but her most trusted servants. Many speculate it to be some kind of voidship or warp travel capable space hulk or void station. Few of Heneria's subordinates have actually seen her in person; most of the orders are disseminated through her Interrogators and trusted agents.
Interrogator Rayvius Skalterion, Ordo Hereticus
Appearance: <SECURITY CLEARANCE ACCEPTED>
Interrogator Skalterion has faithfully served Inquisitor Case for over ten years, and ascribes to a similar style of leadership as his master. He is tasked with commanding several cells of acolytes and prefers to do so from afar. One of Inquisitor Case's proteges, he has little interest in advancing to the rank of Inquisitor. Despite appearing relatively unaugmented beyond his left eye and arm, Ravius is host to many discreet high-quality cybernetics.

Name: Paelerian Issosus

Age and Gender: 220 Terran Years, Male

Appearance: An Astartes of the secretive Grey Knights chapter, Purifier Paelerian Issosus towers over mortal men at 7'5" tall, and approximately 760 lbs unarmoured. He has very short black hair adorning his head, and two long service studs implanted in the upper right of his forehead.

History: As with most of his Battle-Brothers, Paelerian was abducted from his homeworld on an Inquisitorial Black Ship, and harshly trained in the ways of the Astartes from a young age. He was quickly indoctrinated into the ways of the 666th Chapter, and his psychic potential was unlocked through faith to serve his brothers. Many years later, once the gene-transformation was complete, he immediately showed promise in his first action in which an incursion of Slaaneshi daemons and Traitor Marines had engaged an Eldar craftworld near an Imperial planet in the Eastern quadrant of the galaxy. The combat had gone to ground, and the Daemonic presence threatened to corrupt the citizens of the otherwise peaceful agricultural planet. Even the local Imperial Knight Houses were vulnerable to the corruption of the Warp, which demanded an Inquisitorial presence.

When the first squad of Grey Knights landed on the planet's surface, the fighting was at it's worst. An Eldar Wych had been posessed by a greater Daemon, who was using the powers of the xeno to wreak havoc on the field. Unfettered, the Battle Brothers proceeded across the warp-torn field, stepping over countless eldar bodies, some still writhing in a profane mixture of pain and pleasure. The Grey Knights ignored these xenos, their primary objective being the Greater Daemon inside the Wych.

Slowly but surely the squad advanced, pumping volleys of psychic ammunition into the warp-tainted creature, before eventually engaging it in close-combat. The squad had been reduced to half strength by then, the Justicar slayed by unholy wychfyre, and those who yet stood were heavily wounded. Despite this, they pressed forward, eventually striking down the Wych, forcing the Daemon to face their holy wrath.

Even as the creature towered above them, the brothers did not falter, as they pooled their psychic might into one glorious crescendo of holy light. The creature burned as the knights roared in zealous fury, chopping at it's foul limbs with their holy weapons, and felling the creature like a profane tree.

Falling to his knees, his energy spent and his consciousness fading, Paelerian gave one final shout of victory, as more battle-brothers arrived from orbit to finish up the battle on the planetside.

Many years later, after having shown his purity and strength of will in many battles against countless foes, he was elected to a position in the First Brotherhood, the Brotherhood of Purifiers. It was then that the Ordo Hereticus had been contacted by one of Heneria Case's agents, requesting martial support for Kill-Team Eschaton. The Ordo responded by entreating the Grey Knights for soldiers who had experience against Xenos, and the leadership, unwilling to send a whole squad for a task that did not involve the threat of the Daemonic, chose one warrior to send: Paelerian.

Strengths/Skills/Abilities:
Astartes Enhancements: Replete with all the genetic treatments and enhancements that are standard for Astartes, such as the Black Carapace, Guilliman's Ears, etc.
Brotherhood of Psykers: All members of the Grey Knights are psykers, and a Purifier especially knows how to utilize his psychic mastery against the force of darkness.
Close Combat Mastery: All Grey Knights are well-versed in close combat, as their most hated foes are almost exclusively close-range combatants. With centuries of experience, however, a Grey Knight can be a force to be reckoned with in close quarters.
Long-range Teleportation: Due to the rapid nature of their deployment tactics, many are the Grey Knights that know the art of deep striking via teleportation.
And They Shall Know No Fear: No Purifier can know fear, the indoctrination and faith mixing to create an iron-willed mind immune to the horrors of war.
Incorruptible: No Grey Knight has ever fallen to the taint of Chaos, and no Grey Knight ever will. An Incorruptible bulwark against the maddening tides of the Warp, each Grey Knight's mind is a ray of holy light in the chaotic turmoil of the Realm of Souls.
Flame of Purity: Purifiers, proving to be the most spiritually pure and unwavering in faith amongst their brothers, have learned to focus their psychic energy into holy flames that radiate from their bodies and souls, which rend and sear all but themselves.

Psychic Powers:
Cleansing Flame - A gout of holy fire that burns all that it touches continually.
Gate of Infinity - A long-range teleport, used to return to the Merciless Interdiction.
Hammerhand - Infuses the user with even more holy strength, making their close-combat attack strike harder.
Telepathy - One of the few "mundane" psychic powers in a Grey Knight's repertoire, it is nevertheless an important tool, as it allows for extremely long range communication with others, usually superior officers or as a method of spreading tactical information.
Psyniscience - A rare power for a Grey Knight to posess, it is used to gather information from the Warp. Extremely useful for finding psykers, as well as areas where the walls between the Warp and the Material dimension wear thin, this power is the official reason as to why Paelerian was assigned to Kill-Team Eschaton, and is what he will spend most of the mission utilizing.

Equipment/Wargear:
Aegis Mark Astartes Power Armour - Standard Issue Power Armour for the Grey Knights, providing all the benefits of standard power armour, was well as being inlaid with hexagrammic wards, multiple blessings, and pseudo Psychic Hoods which improves the user's ability to fight the forces of Chaos, and deny a Psyker's powers.
Wrist-mounted Storm-Bolter with Psybolt Ammunition - Another standard-issue for Grey Knights, it is a Storm Bolter that leaves the hand free to wield other weapons.
Nemesis Force Halberd - One of the iconic Nemesis Force Weapons of the Grey Knights, it's weight is impressive, allowing it to carve through flesh with ease, and it also acts not only as a power weapon, able to cleave all but the most powerful armour as if it were paper, but also as a foci for the user's psychic might, causing psychic shock to instantly kill most enemies fromt he wounds caused by the blade.
Frag and Krak grenades - Grenades to assist in assaults, or to assist in destroying vehicles.

[Important Note]: For Party Balance Issues, and reasons that I have already discussed with the GM, this character will remain on the Merciless Interdiction, only exiting the voidship to intervene if the Kill-Team becomes endangered by forces they cannot otherwise handle on their own, such as Traitor Marines, Daemons, or equivalent threats.

Or about 12 months. Though I fail to see what the orbit of the moon around a planet has to do with a planet's orbit around its sun.

Terran Years are human years. We don't need to go into the scientific specifics. This is a sci-fantasy setting after all.

Question for the section Strengths/Skill/Abilities, do you want those to be from a specific source, 40k game, dark heresy etc, or can we just make those up?

Make em up. Feel free to draw from any 40k resource you like, but be sure to add explanations of all your abilities/skills/powers/whatever.

Okie dokie! ... I almost would have gotten confused there. Danke all.

Probably should have went and researched the name a bit xD

Name: Skitarii L2-VS23-V6 (Will respond to either Skitarri or V6)

Age and Gender: 245 Terran Years/ N/A

Appearance: A Skitarii of the Adeptus Mechanicus. V6 wears a red cloak, that covers most of its body, with metal scale pauldrons over the cloak. His limbs have been replaced with those of holy titanium bionics, and his face resembles a metal gas mask with glowing blue white eyes.

History: V6 is part of the Skitarii of belonging to the Forge World of Carven. The Forge World is rather active as they have many ships wandering around their sector searching not only for lost imperial technology, but also lost alien technology to dissemble and reverse engineer for imperial use. For a while Carven was allowed to continue their activities unimpeded but when one of their ships, the Spear of the Omnissiah, have been found to be secretly cooperating with Eldar and Tau for acquiring technology. This drew a lot of suspicion from the Imperium and the Inquisition and fearing being branded as heretical, the crew of the Spear of the Omnissiah had been dealt with in the only proper manner, and V6's ship the Dauntless Light Cruiser, the Eye of the Machine has been assigned to act as the Strike Cruiser Merciless Interdiction's escort in order to hopefully gain the favor of the Inquisition and allow them to continue their work unimpeded.

Strengths/Skills/Abilities:
-Bionics: Enhanced strength, Enhanced Speed, Night/Thermal Vision
-Engineering and mechanical skills: Being Skitarii V6 has a understanding of machinery and can make quick repairs or patchworks
-Feel No pain: His body is made up of holy bionics, and doesn't feel pain, unlike those with weak frail flesh.
-Linked Vox: V6 is linked to the Eye of the Machine, allowing him to receive instructions and information from time to time as well as allow the Eye of the Machine to communicate with the team and vice versa.
-Mastercrafted Weapons: His weapons come directly from the Mechanicus itself, making them rather reliable.

Equipment/Wargear:
-Arc Rifle
-Cognis Pistol
-Arc Maul
-Haywire Grenades
-Vox Relay

Are we allowed to be a/n < probably Dark > Eldar?
I counter your question with two questions:
First, why in the ever loving actual fuck would a dark eldar ever work with/for the inquisition
Second, what would be a succinct motivation for an Eldar to lower themselves to working with humans?
