Stahlhiem: College of Magic (Rebooted!) IC

Simon - Hallway

Simon sighs as he rounds a corner his cheeks finally cooling down. He thinks that his interaction with The elven prince went less than ideal but at least he had his suspicions confirmed about the Elven child being dangerous as well as properly introduce himself to Thal as not a threat and a possible ally. Simon then decides to use his map of the school to find Coro. He had his doubts that a shield created by a master mage even one not in the best of shape could just fail like that. His suspicions though were mostly based of off what he already knew about Thal and his willingness to escalate simple things. He also saw the devilish grin Thal had when the bolt hit Wijk though he can't be certain if it was just Thal being happy at another's suffering

Simon - Front of the jail

Simon notices a voidborn guard at the front of the jail and made his way confidently towards it. "Greetings, I would like to speak to a prisoner here a girl named Coronaria" He says matter of factly "I'm an acquaintance of hers and would like to help her as well this college sorting out the dueling room mess." He tries to give a sharp look towards the void born but becomes intimidated by the amour "I know you may not trust me but I know Coro more than most of you do coupled with the fact I saw that she was pulled away rather antagonistically I think a friendly face can help her feel more at ease."

Rilker - Hallways

The Master Mage saw and heard the Beastmen, but to hear a student ask about Fire magic irritated him to no end. For one to ask about fire magic in any way was close to incompetence. Still he entertained the Beastman and acknologed the student with a clear sense of annoyance. "What do you want I'm busy!" He said

Void Born - Barracks

The Void Born guarding the barrack's entrance looked at the the student and determined that the student wasn't a threat and allowed him in. Inside at least a dozen guards are stationed around the cells to make sure no one makes any trouble while they're here.

Simon - Prison

Simon follows the guards into the prison when he see's the cell he gripes the bars of it. Simon leans onto the bars looking at the wolf girl deep in though then gives her a sad smile "Hey" he says "How you holding up"

Tashunka - Hallway

Tashunka noticed the annoyance in the mage on the outside Tashunka ignored it, but he made a mental note of it for later. "Do you have control of the fires you create? I am just able to make a fire and after that it seems to have a mind of it's own, is that normal?" Tashunka asked Rilker.

Coro-Prison

Coro looks over at simon. "Oh im fine dont worry about me its not the first time ive been thrown in a cell.. hopefully this wont be my last either.." Coro gives a forced smile. "So how are you on this lovely day.."

Simon - Prison

Simon gives a surprised smile "Really Coronaria you're asking about me" He chuckles "I'm not the one who's in a cell". But Simon's face suddenly turns grim "That's not just why i'm here though. I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about such terrible a accident what happened was and i'm sure that things like this happen all the time in this college" He looks Coro straight in the eye face completely straight "I'm sure that if you just admit what You did and apologized to Master Wijk I'm sure she'll understand that it was out of your control" He gives a sad knowing look.

coro-prison
Coro frowns "Dont look at me like that I dont have a problem apologizing for what happened im not some brat noble."

Simon - Prison

Simon brightens up "Sorry about that I guess I was worried about nothing then. I'll visit you again tonight if you want anything from your room or from the dining hall the nug chiefs made this amazing mystery meat stew just tell me in case you don't get let out by then and i'll try to bring it to you"

Coro-prison

Coro thinks for a moment before answering"Can you bring me a small book I know i still cant read well but i might as well use this time for something"

Rilker - Hallways

The man scoffs at the question. "What simple question is that. Fire is fire, nothing more nothing less. To restrain it is to restrain one's potential, and to let it simply roam free is to set ones child loose in the city where people can harm it!" He creates a small fire in his hands and slowly expands it as he talks. "You must tend to it, let it burn, feed it fuel from time to time and when it is right, you watch it burn. You watch it die, then when it dies, you look and see that it has burnt away all the hate and evil in the world." He snuffs out the fire in his hands before letting the beastman take in his words.

Headmaster - Barrack

The door to the barrack's cells open up and the headmaster walks in escorted by some guards. The masked man walks up to the guards and the Void Born guarding Coro opens up her cell door to allow the headmaster in. The imposing man stands in front of the Beastman as asks her with a neutral tone. "Do you plead yourself guilty?"

coro-Prison

Coro thinks back at what simon said to do. "Ummm yes why wouldn't i be guilty? But what happned was a accident i missed and the spell bounced off of the shield and it hit her who wouldn't feel guilty after that?" Coro clearly missed the point of the question.

Simon - Prison

Simon looks at the masked man with a smile "Hello nobody asked but i'm Simon Miller a student of Master Wijk i'm also Coronaria's roommate. May I ask what my roommate is being accused of. I was with at least a dozen other student when it happened and i'm sure that all of them could tell you what happened was a freak accident. Indeed many saw that the shield malfunction and bounce the bolt back rather than absorbing it. Although my prayers go to Master Wijk i'm sure things like this happen all the time" Simon starts to look serious as if the next words he says should bear a great weight "As I can personally say from this last week" His gaze meets the masked man even stronger "As well as from what I heard of about certain students and ambassadors"

Headmaster Arnest - Barracks

That may be, but as both governor and the college's headmaster I must show a certain sense of apathy and neutrality towards cases such as this. However I will say that Master Borghild is now stationed in the infirmary and is being tended to by the Master Life Mage and some of our finest Life Mages. However we are investigating the circumstances of the incident and whatever we find will determine your punishment. Whether it be manual labor or imprisonment. Now leave. Go about your business.

Time Skip 1 Week

Manfred Surhardt, Rilker Pauelus- Ruins of Ashbor

It is a hot, yet cloudy midday as the two mages lead the group of 1st years on a field trip, as the Headmaster instructed them to do so in order to keep them from interfering with the investigation, as well as to keep the weakest students from anyone or anything that might plan to do harm to the school or its staff. The students were kept in a neat circle as an escort of a dozen Void Born armed with swords and spears surrounded them, keeping a vigilant eye on the surrounding area. After a week of travel, Ashbore finally came into sight. The Ruins looked more like a fortified town then a place of worship as the group came closer. Broken gates that once kept out intruders are now allow the group to enter without any trouble, save for the small pile of rubble at the base of the gatehouse. Once they entered Mangred turn around to address the first year.

"Now students." Started the Alttanin "Now that we are here in Ashbore, I remind you that we are here to have fun. Whatever has happened in the past few weeks mean nothing currently. You all have free reign of the ruined town and the school is offering extra bonus of Crowns to whoever finds and returns any artifacts, enchanted items, tomes or writings of any importance. To rephrase, have fun and be safe. If anyone is in trouble, just shout and me, Master Pauelus, or the Void Born will be there as fast as we can. Now is there any questions?" Asked Manfred

Tashunka - Ruins of Ashbor

Without a set objective Tashunka decided to set off for the center of the town. After making it to the the center of town Tashunka wandered around from building to building taking in the mystery of this ruined town and what it must have been like to live in it. Losing interest in the outside of the buildings Tashunka decided to risk it and venture into a building that looked like at one point it could have been a town hall or gathering place of sorts. Inside Tashunka found mostly empty rooms that had been picked clean by thieves and scavengers, which left Tashunka with a rather disappointed feeling. Tashunka continued exploring looking for something interesting or dangerous to study.

Simon - Ashbor

Simon instantly dashes away from the group. He looks onto a map of the city to find a smoldering ruin from which many unarmed civilians were burned as heretics. He walks to the middle of the ruins then pulls out two wooden bowls, a pouch of salt, a loaf of bread, a flask of water along with his writing supplies. He places the bowls on either side of himself filling one with salt and the other he places the bread. He pours some water over the onto the ground then sits cross legged "Restless dead who died of guiltless crimes. I call upon thee. I make my offering of food from the living and in exchange I ask you only to speak of this once fair town. Show me of your most holy scriptures so I may once again preach your word. Tell me your hidden treasures so that those guilty do will not pray on your wealth. Lead me to your mightiest weapons so that I may use your strength to aid me" Simon says eyes closed in deep concentration.

Audrey- Ashbor

Audrey drifts away from the group and looks for a lookout. She follows a lane towards a hill. The hilltop is crowned by a stone well. She pulls herself up and sits on the rim.

The view from the well is amazing. She pulls out her scetch pad and draws the out line of the ruin.

Ruins of Ashbor - Tashunka

Looking around Tasunka finds a small journey, rotten and burnt, hidden in a pile of rubble. Most of the pages and ruined due to exposure and previous damage but the final page and last entry was still readable. The Journal reads as such 'I can hear them coming. I see them in my dreams. Steel clad warriors and fire wielding hunters ready to strike down the Dragon's true children. I cannot die here. I must run, I must flee. I have a weapon that can save us, if the High Lector would allow me. Hopefully we can prepare our defenses before all will be lost. I shall prove myself to Ahsbor and ascend into perfection. Yes that is what I will and that is what happens. My dreams tell me I have a week to pr-' The entry ends there.

Ruins of Ashbor - Simon

When attempting to contact the spirits of the dead in Ashbor Simon hears several voices call out for help all around him. The voices became louder and louder and louder and louder until they were deafening. A brief vision appears in his mind, a vision of many robed figures, men, women and children running around the area while men wearing steel cut and gunned them down like animals.

Coro-Ashbor

Coro silently follows simon and upon seeing the burnt corpses she grimaces. "such a terrible way to die.." 'I wonder what death would feel like.. would you even know you were dead... is it possible to come back would you even be able to remember your life tho.... what do you think aine? Hello? ..... fine dont answer me.' Coro watches simon as he trys to contact the dead.

Tashunka - Ruins of Ashbor

Tashunka closed the journal and thought to himself, this is a very strange place. Turning the book over in his hands Tashunka examined every detail to make sure he did not miss anything else. What was this weapon and why would the High Lord not let him use it, if it could have saved them. I wonder if I can find anything else to shed some more light on what happened to this person, Tashunka thought to himself as he placed the journal safely into his bag. Tashunka continued to look through the ruins for more information or clues to this mysterious person.

Simon - Ashbor Library Ruins

The sudden voices envelop Simon making him grip his head in pain. Simon gasps for air "I k-know of your de- *Pant* deaths I do not need v-visions of them." He says voice strained "I lament y-you all truly nobody des-*Pant* deserved that pain." Simon takes a deep breath "BUT I Cannot Help You Like This" He screams "The pe-*Pant* people who hurt you will profit from your su-uffering." Simon takes another deep breath trying to ignore the wails of the dead "I promise if you show me your treasures I will do wh-what" Simon grabs his head suddenly in pain then continues " Do what I c-ca-can to put your spirits at ease" he barely finishes that sentence before trying his best to steady his shallow breathing
