The West Quarter

"Well," Ira stretched and folded his arms behind his head, grinning. "Sounds like we're about done here, in that case. Good chat, and all, but we've got lost time to make up for. If you ever need us again, an invitation card would be appreciated over a spooky inter-dimensional abduction. Should we find the door ourselves, ooor..?" he left the question hanging, expectant.

There wasn’t any draft that surrounded the four of them.

It was only the slight movement of bodies that covered the sound of silence, as nobody moved to open their mouths for a long while. The area had always been empty and yet, at this very moment, the surrounding area seemed to not only be void of life but is also looking to take as well. The regularly cut grass, presenting lovely shades of green, all levelled in neat rows next to each other; all except the ones crushed beneath the feet of the four present in the area, silent and still. Light ceased to hit the ground as the sun was encased in an array of clouds, scampering to darken the sky.

Kakusabi held a neutral expression at Thomas’s reply and looked towards Caster, although she could not track the time she had spent with him, she knew that he was ultimately displeased by the Magus’s response. She, however, mulled over the other Magus’s reason for his research. For the betterment of humanity. Although, she did not know anything about Thomas and only just recently knew his name; she would admit that he held a noble goal.

Laudability, however, is not a form of defense.

Slowly, she shifted her hand close enough to Caster’s cloak that she barely grazed it.

"Alright... It is a shame, though."

The towering figure was silent as the three spoke. Even back where reality made sense and the space around them flowed as they knew it there was a feeling of being in the shadow of something far bigger than themselves. The ever changing number of green eyes peered down at the diminutive figures. Whether the refusal of the deal struck a cord somewhere deep inside the beast or not wasn't apparent. Stoic as ever, Caster simply kept his silent composure- leaving them guessing as to his opinions on being refused.

"So be it." Was all that came from under the shadowy hood. Flat and matter-of-fact. No malice. No bitterness. "Our business is concluded." The last word hung in the air; heavy and bearing down upon the two. There was no magic to it. No trick or sense of manipulation- just a word spoken with authority.

With that the monolith turned from the other team and made his arhythmic march towards some distant point on the horizon, one hidden behind the estates and mansion of the West Quarter, ignoring both the snark oozing from Ira and Thomas's self righteous indignation. "Come Oshiro, we still have much to do. This reality's options are dwindling."
