“Wh-what!? He just knocked Billy back!?” Gentaro said.

He quickly turned on the Launcher and Radar switches and aimed it at Mr. X. He fired, hoping to at least stun the large man.​

The big man flinched from the attack, but seemed otherwise fine. Not even his clothes were affected. His hat fell off his head as he took a few long steps toward Gentaro and punched him across the courtyard.

Claire shot a couple of bullets into the man, but they did just as little.

❝ What's with this guy... ❞ Blake nervously sweated and coughed upon getting back to his feet from the abrupt entrance of an obvious enemy. Once again, he recited the usual voice commands to activate his tech cube, and from thinking that doing things recklessly here would be too risky so... It was time to do some background work, Blake began to prep up for a scan regarding this large intimidating man.

Biscuit meanwhile didn't seem to have any concerns as she casually walked past Emily into the observation room. "I was concerned at first, but if these are the only things to face in here. I'm no longer worried."

Cullen cleared the rest of the broken glass using the Glartrox so the others could pass through easily, though even he recoiled at the stench in the other room.

Blood and nondescript human matter stained the floor. There was an upturned table and a small locker, which Cullen opened.

"Oh boy," he said, holding up an item. "A box with an electronic lock."

With nowhere else to go, both groups ended up back at the lobby. Sharing their items meant the locker in the office could be opened, as well as the locked box. Inside each were two medallions that matched the one Cullen had found. These depicted a woman and a unicorn.

In addition, the instruction manual that was found provided a pass and login for the computer, allowing the group to check the security cameras. Most were down, though there was one that showed the courtyard outside. A lone girl who did not appear to be infected could be seen outside a presumably locked gate.

"You're able to get there through the east office," Cullen said. "When we passed by, no one was there before."

“What if she’s the reason we’re here?” Gentaro says, remembering the time they met Elliot, how he stuck out like a sore thumb.​

"Don't see any other blokes around here..." Cullen muttered. He stared at the screen for a moment and had a thought. "You know, she actually looks a bit familiar to me..."

"This loop is very different from Elliot's," Billy said. "But I guess there's no reason to think they'd all be the same."

Nathan blinked blankly as the shotgun was put in his hands, he just held onto it as they returned to the lobby. He shrugged as he passed it to Bridgette, before looking to the desktop screen at the woman- she seemed to know at least a bit more then they did.

"I think we should talk to her."

Bridgette answered Lucifer for Elliot. "He seems pretty out of it." She looked down at the boy, who was fidgeting in his chair. "You guys go on ahead, we'll be okay."

Cullen led the way for the group, navigating the dark hallways of the station until they got to a door that led outside. There, in the dead of night, was the girl, standing behind a locked fence.

"Great," Cullen said under his breath so the girl wouldn't hear. "I do know her. Yet another from that time where I got to experience the bloody embrace of death. Lovely."

"H-Hey!" the girl said. She seemed to shiver, though that was natural considering it was a cold September evening. "You guys definitely... don't look like police officers."

"Afraid not," Cullen said, breaking the lock on the gate so the girl could come inside.

"I'm... Claire Redfield."

She looked about to say more when an electric shock passed between Billy and the girl, indicating that she was indeed who they were looking for. Claire shuddered at the shock, but like Elliot and Bridgette before her, she did not seem to register the moment beyond that.

"Have any of you seen a rookie cop named Leon?" she asked.

"No," Billy said cautiously. "But... Claire, we have some information for you that you might find hard to understand."

"I do too," she said quickly. Billy was confused, so Claire bowled over him in the conversation. "I'm also looking for a little girl named Sherry. It's really important I find her. Plus, I know a secret about the station. If we can find three stone medallions and put them into a statue in the lobby--"

Claire cut herself off when a huge crash erupted from the floor above them. Billy flipped around once the sound of heavy footsteps began to echo from the roof above. It wasn't long before a tall, heavyset man appeared above them, looking down.

Time seemed to stand still as the man stared. Then, without warning, he jumped into the air and crashed down into the middle of the group, sending both Billy and Cullen flying. Claire took a step back and trained her gun on the man.

Emily didn't hesitate to follow Cullen. After using the security manual she had found to help with exploring the area, they soon came across the person they were looking for; Claire. Though she only had a brief moment to introduce herself before they came across a particularly big, lumbering creature. While she couldn't be sure if this man-like creature was the guardian of this loop, she knew they couldn't take any chances.

"Leave us... Alone!" She shouted.

With that, she unleashed a wave of stone magic, using it to both strike the creature, attempting to sear it from the inside out and keep it stationary by wrapping stone magic around his body. It felt strange un-learning how to grasp objects without burning them with her stone magic, but in this case, it a necessity.​

"What the...? Who is this guy?!" Touma could only utter as the strange, hulking man before them suddenly appeared, and easily tanked any blow that came his way. The imposing, physical prowess of the man reminded Touma of Kagun Kihara from his own world, but in this moment, coupled with the already unsettling atmosphere of the building they were in, the boy felt more intimidated in the face of the man more than Kihara had ever managed to unsettle him.

The boy was already somewhat impaired as the wound in his shoulder still stung from the grotesque creature, even after Biscuit managed to take care of it in no time. He was fortunately not too worse for wear otherwise... once he'd wiped off the blood, though he'd been conscious about finding somewhere to wash his hands afterward the next time they'd catch a break, if they'd be fortunate enough for one.

Gritting his teeth in a conflicted manner, hesitant at the notion of entertaining a strategic retreat if necessary but also bearing in mind what might happen to the entire multiverse if this Claire person were to get hurt, Touma grunted softly. "So there are other people here...? O-Okay! We'll find them, but first things first, we gotta get you someplace safe! You might not understand it even after we explain, but your life is more important to us than you might think!" He exclaimed, having observed her unique reaction to Billy.

Seeing the beast of a man be able to shrug off the likes of Billy, Cullen, Gentaro, and Emily, Touma took a step back. "All that said... Maybe we should hightail it out of here, everyone! This place is too cramped to conveniently fight this guy, and more than that... We can't risk Claire getting hurt!" He suggested to everyone, using his good shoulder to wave everyone in the other direction. Usually, he wasn't one to run away from a fight, but even he knew that with their numbers, they were a bit outmatched for now.

Biscuit scoffed at Touma's words. Flee? They had this guy dead to rights! Something like this was child's play if they all worked together to defeat him, or it.

Then her mind went to the previous loop and to Bane. "The kid's right," She spoke up. "If this guy's the guardian of this loop it's not going to as simple as beating him into submission." She looked over to Touma. "A strategic retreat seems to be our best option. So move your butts everyone! Unless you enjoy being thrown around like a sack of potatoes!"

Nathan listened to Claire's words closely, soon freezing due to shock as a large creature bust through the wall.

"What the-" he only managed to exclaim as the giant barreled towards them, causing the man to lose his pride and screech in fear.

The dude was fucking massive what the hell!?

Nathan grabbed his gun from his jacket, attempting to shoot at their enemy with seemingly no avail.

Even though he could hear the call of retreat, he ran towards the monster pulling out his knife and slashing blindly.

He was never really good at making decisions.

Gentaro had almost no time to react as Mr. X launched him across the courtyard. He collided with a wall before collapsing onto the ground.

He attempted to get up, but he didn’t have that much strength in him, so all he did was support himself with his arm.​

Azure Kite​

They really had no time to catch their breath, did they?

Against such a hulking opponent, all Kite, whose strength lied in melee combat, could do was watch as his allies were flung around like rag dolls. As they were called to flee, Kite was more than ready to turn tail and get the hell out of there.

He attempted to get up, but he didn’t have that much strength in him, so all he did was support himself with his arm.

Amidst the chaos, Kite spotted Gentaro struggling to keep his weight up and quickly ran towards him.

"Here."

He pulled Gentaro's arm over his shoulder and helped him to his feet. "Lean against me..." he said.

"Thanks..." Gentaro said, still reeling from Mr. X's punch. He still had the desire to protect Claire, probably because she might be the one they need to break from the loop, but he allowed Kite to assist him to safety.​

Nathan found himself suddenly get flung over Bridgette's broad shoulders as she fired a few shots at Mr. X. "Elliot haul ass! Me and Nathan will be right behind you!"

Claire cut herself off when a huge crash erupted from the floor above them. Billy flipped around once the sound of heavy footsteps began to echo from the roof above. It wasn't long before a tall, heavyset man appeared above them, looking down.

Time seemed to stand still as the man stared. Then, without warning, he jumped into the air and crashed down into the middle of the group, sending both Billy and Cullen flying. Claire took a step back and trained her gun on the man.

Erring on the side of caution, Sinestro fell back and observed Mr.X from a safe distance. He thinned his eyes and will his ring to do the hard work for him. He commanded his Yellow Ring to scan Mr.X for any emotional energy to get an accurate fix as to what he was feeling. There was no use preying on the fears of a man already dead. His next command was to scan the floor beneath Mr.X's feet for any structural weaknesses.

Elliot had insisted that he and Bridgette follow the group in case something went wrong, but now he was partly regretting it. Mostly due to the headache this creature was giving him. His powers weren't working as well as they normally did here, so there was not much he could do to help. Though, he wasn't sure anything he could do would help.

Emily's magic incapacitated the man for a moment, but it ultimately didn't seem to work. Elliot wondered for a moment if he was like Bane had been. Unfortunately, when he tried to do the same thing he did to Bane, it didn't work.

As the group made their retreat, glowing water would crash into Mr. X in an attempt to push him back and buy their group a little extra time as Azura moved to follow the rest.

Bridgette with Nathan over her shoulder was only a short bit after Elliot to make sure he had someone between himself and the monster chasing them.

Meanwhile, Biscuit was up in the front shouting to Touma and who else was close. "Okay we're retreating, what next? Do you think we'll be able to lose this guy with a big group like this? Where should we go?"

Nathan could hear a stream of curses emitting from the woman carrying him as the blade slipped from his grasp down her back and with a clang to the floor. "Trying to save your life and not get stabbed in the back for it!" She spewed out between curses. Bridgette didn't want to see how back it was but she knew that it hurt like a son of a bitch.

The powerful man was not particularly fast, so the group was able to navigate even the dark hallway faster than him, especially with Clark moving some of the group quickly. However, by the time they had piled back into the lobby, they could still hear the man's powerful footsteps echoing from the hallway.

"Hey!" Elliot made a grab for Nathan's arm so that he would stop flailing. "You almost cut-- Ah, what did you do?" As Bridgette let Nathan down, Elliot looked around at the others. "Quick, I need those medical supplies!"

"Claire, what were you saying about medallions?" Billy asked her. The girl looked distracted as she looked around the lobby for a moment. "We found those medallions."

"You did?" The girl pointed to a statue in the middle of the lobby. "Put them in there and we'll be able to lose that guy... or, I hope so."

Cullen quickly ran over and inserted the medallions into recesses within the statue. As a result, it slowly began to shift into the ground, though it was moving slowly. The man's footsteps were getting closer and closer.

Gentaro separates himself from Kite and collapses onto the ground. He crawls his way towards the statue, slowly but surely regaining his strength. His crawl turned into a limp which culminated in him reaching the statue.​
