Blood Of Olympus!

Hello! I am extremely thankful for the opportunity and founding of this site, and I hope to bring many great games to the table! My first installment will be the forums title "Blood Of Olympus".

This role play will take place in the year 2025, it's a post apocalyptic setting about the offspring of the greek gods. In stories it wasn't exactly a shocker to hear about a god breeding with the mortals, which Zeus had instructed the other gods to choose a suitable child bearer. Now, this doesn't exactly mean that the god in question had any interaction with the human of choice. (They could have, but they would have wanted to keep the identity a secret, since Mortals had been dangerous to the knowledge of the gods in the past).

Example: Athena wouldn't have came down and became impregnated, instead she would have scanned the earth for suitable mothers to host her child. a child that could have been conceived by another human, but she essentially could have used her divine rights to hijack the offspring, implementing her own genes which would make the person a direct descendent of the goddess. You are free to use your imagination for this, and if you have any ideas or suggestions feel free!

All gods will be available to descend from
but the power is stored in a mantle, which is what the rays of light in the story below represent. The mantles will be available to one living demi-god at a time, so if Hades is already mantled you will have to wait for that character to die or choose another. (Best option is to choose another, since character death will mostly be a mutual agreement between player and GM).

Unique items and weapons will be formulated, which will be added as quests for players to retrieve in order to harness the powers and learn new skills.

Each demi is important in various ways, and I encourage you to be creative and let me know if you have any ideas!

A posting order will be implemented and I ask that you don't post out of turn! You can post your characters in a comment on this thread.

Zeus is currently the only god alive from the previous heirs, so if you wish to play his offspring you won't be mantled immediately in the roleplay, but that doesn't mean you won't have room to play.

Hades is currently the only demi-god not playable at this time, and that is because I plan on playing the demi!

Demi-gods will likely have experienced strange events throughout their life, although as I said they wouldn't have much power because that takes a mantle. Upon being mantled ( Something that can't be happened unless physical contact with the gods power container, that will happen IC).

The Story:

We have all heard the stories of the greek gods, the constant conflicts and struggles for power. It seems that old wounds never truly heal, and this was definitely true in the case of the Titans. A struggle engraved in stone since the beginning of time, one that would truly put a mark on the fate of humanity in the year 2025. It was approximately 3:40 am in Athens, Greece when the cataclysm made it's break. Ten miles off the shore the water began to heat up, vicious bubbling rumbled from beneath to pop at the surface as the water quickly turned to a boiling temp. Sailors unlucky enough to have been accessing the area would find the ships metallic pieces melting and warping with the increasing heat, sinking them into the water below to leave them helpless like Lobsters in a pot.

The water came to a frightening 1510 degrees Celsius by the time the sun made it's arrival, only further cooking the water. The world sat at the edge of seats as news of the strange events spread like wildfire. The water remained this way with no changes for the next two weeks, scientists from all over the world came to offer some sort of investigation to assist the people of Greece and bring forth some peace of mind. On the second week, jagged rocks began breaking the waters surface to form an island of sharp, smokey rock. It didn't appear to be Magma created, so what exactly was going on beneath the ocean? Aircrafts surveyed the scene from above, confirming that the rocks spread out in a three mile wide circular pattern. In the middle of the rocks was nothing but a once blue ocean, now turned black and dark purple, hues of green evident somewhere deep down below.

Upon week Three things had taken a turn for the worse... What sounded like underwater explosions could be heard from the rock island, and the water began to bubble in an even more violent nature. Red dots could be seen forming deep below, and with each passing day would grow closer and larger. Science and reason began to exit the window as Scientists frantically declared the entities almost looked like eyes. Many shunned this theory, while others quickly made up self declared hypothesis of underwater volcanoes, regardless of the lack of evidence and facts. It would appear fear had taken the wheel.

Before the third week had came to an end, more of these strange formations began to appear across the globe. It was becoming apparent that they had been dealing with something far more sinister then they had originally interpreted. The United States was the first to take a drastic action, evacuating the coastal areas to fire ballistic missiles to attempt to close the strange formations. It was simply an impact test, one that would quickly bring forth a new level of pain. The water in the center of the formations began to spin into whirlpools, almost as if the water was draining from the inside of it's depths. Sure enough, the water was soon replaced by large gaping steaming holes... The event was not just the tested sites, it was all simultaneous across the globe.

From within the depths large monsters of myth rose, from large winged Manticores to Angry Cyclops. It appeared the activity had awoken a slumber, an inevitable outcome the the people of Earth. Athens appeared to suffer the worst of it, as titans of myth and lore rose from the depths with one clear destination in mind... As cities fell and humanity struggled to survive, a siege was taken directly to the locations historians believed the original location of Mount Olympus had once been. Mount Olympus had never been seen by the human eye, but on this day the cataclysm's seemed to have dark magic to pull the home of the gods into the mortal light. The Titans performed some sort of ritual which had caused Olympus to literally fall from the heavens above.

It could be seen for hundred of miles, a spectacular fortress falling from the sky in shambles. Jets of lights could be seen soaring to the ground far below with the mess of marble and building. What once was the sky palace fell to the earth, crushing people and foundations that rested below. The world was thrown into chaos, the entire world was left in shambles. A fight to end all fights, the gods and Titans took to the new battlefield.

The gods had lost control, and the almighty Zeus was quickly realizing the grim reality. Zeus was weary this day would eventually come, and he had formulated a contingency plan hundreds of years ago in the case this ever did become a reality. With all the gods fallen, he found himself between a rock and a hard place. With all the Titan forces advancing on his position he made a decision, conjuring a large lightning rod with his hand that hosted an array of colors. Tossing it upwards into the sky it struck a large cloud that had been busy funneling into existence during the final moments. The bolt struck the cloud with a loud boom, causing all the Titans that surrounded his person to be knocked off course. This only bought Zeus time, but from within the cloud the lifeless bodies of the deceased gods glowed bright, a jet of color leaving the previous entities behind. The corpses began to crack and crumble, turning into ash before blowing away away with the breeze of the storm raging overhead.

The streams of color that had exited the corpses would race off into the sky, becoming masked and hidden beneath a blanket of black clouds. By the time the Titans had recovered and moved to put an end to the King of the gods, he was already gone. The world was left abandoned for the meantime, it was up to the strongest of the humans to survive, for the meantime.

All may seem lost, but alas... The gods will rise again.

Apex had been wandering the desolate streets of London for nearly five years, although after the first she discontinued keeping track. It seemed a waste of time to count the days with the world as fragmented as it was, at least... her part of the world. She couldn't imagine the rest of the world was any better off, considering the fact no one had came to help assist. Prior to the events that turned her world upside down she had been locked away in a mental institution, meaning she was entirely frozen from knowing what was happening outside of the walls of her small room. The strange activity prior to the attacks had been stripped of her knowledge, no television and no radio would assure no news broadcasts. When the walls of the hospital had began to crumble, she took her leave without much hesitation. It didn't take her long to wonder if she would have been better off hiding inside.

It wasn't easy at first, but over time she had learned how to stay out of sight from the monsters, raiders, and other undesirables. It seemed that all was lost, and everything that people had known about humanity would have to be wiped from memory. The night of her introduction to Zeus was an interesting one, it was late and the sky was a stormy black. Large clouds trailed overhead, showering the ground with large drops of rain. The roaring lightning far overhead was enough to send shivers down ones spine, unless of course you had grown used to it. Apex had been staying in an old abandoned four story warehouse for the past few years, taking to the streets in the day to scavenge for supplies and food. With each passing month it seemed this was a more even more complicated task then before.

Apex sat before her fire, hands outstretched to brave the cold that creeped in through the cracks in the walls and the holes that had once been windows. She had placed thick blankets and objects over the windows in the room she hid away in, preventing anything and anyone from possibly seeing the orange hue of the flame. The room was made of some sort of concrete, so it wasn't to much of a risk of fire. She was on the top floor, and after careful excavation she had managed to make a filter through the roof that would let the smoke exit the room without choking her to death. Most nights would be quiet, all except this one...

A loud howl could be heard from outside, a sound that was all to familiar to Apex by this time. DeathHounds, some of the most rotten creatures to plaque the earth. These beasts are large canines, rotting flesh and a pair of sinister red eyes and razor sharp teeth. They are fast and excellent trackers, regardless of the apparent terrible sense of smell they have. London was home to one of the many Titans, and the hounds only took to the hunt when they would be escorting the big bastard.

Apex jumped to her feet, quickly putting out the fire to move towards one of the blanketed windows. The ground beneath her feet shook with each step the Titan took. Peaking from under the blanket she spotted him, the man was taller then the four story warehouse itself, she was just level with his shoulders. Nothing in the area was big enough to give him a challenge... Other then the army of beasts he had under his control.

"Come out, come out wherever you are..." his voice rang, causing Apex to drop to the floor with her back against the wall. Had he finally found her? For a long while now Apex had been suspicious of the bandits that inhabited the city with her, and it seemed her worst fear had been confirmed. In exchange for safety amongst the beasts, humans have offered allegiance to the Titans... Which could only mean she was the enemy. "My friends here are eager to meet you, Demi"

Demi? he was using that word again... On a few separate occasions she had managed to escape him, each time he had referred to her with that name. She figured it was some sort of pep name, but why did he want her so bad? The sounds of shouting men could be heard inside of the warehouse by this time, meaning the bandits had been sent inside to find her.

"We will turn every building inside out until we find you girl... You might as well just show yourself now!" the Titan yelled out once again, the sound of a building not far off crumbling echoed in her ears. He wielded a large club, which was more like a wrecking ball with this bloke. The sound of barking was accompanying the shouting men, meaning that the hounds had also entered the buildings interior. Moving across the large room that was the top floor she made it to the opposite side of the building from which the Titan was standing, Peeking out the open window only to find more bandits and hounds far below. She quickly moved to duck out of the way, her foot accidentally meeting a corroded piece of cement. The large rock fell to the depths below which caused some attention, the bandits immediately began to speak to one another. It wasn't exactly shocking to see bits of building falling, but it was still a motive to keep searching.

Footsteps could be heard from the other side near the staircase, which would note to her that they had made it to the top floor. Across from her was a building that was a floor lower, and with a decent running start she might be able to clear the gap and land upon the other side. Of course, this was notify those below of her presence... Not that the current invaders wouldn't shout out the alarm once they spotted her... As the bandits reached the top of the stairs, it didn't take long for them to point and shout.

"Oi! I've spotted her! Get that fuckin' dame!" the man shouted as Apex looked back towards the window. Taking a deep breath she ran forward, pushing off with her back leg she reached the windows ledge and didn't bother to hesitate. Everything was almost in slow motion for a moment as she soared high above the bandits below who at this time looked up at the sudden movement. A series of shouting could be heard as the chase was now on. To her relief she hit the roof of the neighboring building with a roll, striking back up to her feet and continuing without breaking speed. The Titan didn't bother to wait for the others to leave the building, nor did he waste time going around. Instead his large body crashed through the warehouse that once served her home in a chaotic crumble of dust and cement.

"I've got you now!" he quickly ran after her, large feet hitting the ground which caused running over the structure to be a bit difficult. She reached the edge of the building, looking down towards a dumpster in the alleyway below. Looking back for a brief moment as the Titan reached the building, performing the same smashing trick as he did the building before it. Leaping down she landed inside of the dumpster, ignoring the stench to quickly lift herself out. To avoid being crushed she had to move quickly, seemingly ducking out of the way in time to avoid his foot coming down upon her.

The lightning overhead was much more vibrant now, and as Apex moved to gain distance from the Titan she found herself falling from a large piece of the building as it hurdled to the ground. It managed to connect with the back of her legs, sending her straight to the ground with a thud. She rolled onto her back, staring upwards into the smiling face of the titan.

"Well, well, well... Like father like daughter, right?" Apex wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean, but she was so frightened it didn't matter in the moment. The titan raised his club, preparing to bring it down upon the street before him and completely demolish Apex into nothing but a stain. On cue the lightning cackled and a bright shining light connected with the Titans torso, sending him backwards with a large crash to the ground. Standing in front of her was a large man, he stood at least 6,7 with a large mane of white shiny hair. He looked back and pointed down the street, an odd entity could be seen, almost appearing as some sort of rip in the very fabric of reality. On the other side could be seen a green field, from within it's core several men and women exited holding bows and arrows. Half horse half men charged from it's depths, moving to face the large titan with the man. The mans eyes glowed a bright yellow.

"To the portal, Apex. Now!" The man ordered before facing back to the giant. The Titan was back on his feet at this point, his face contorted with anger as he picked his club back up from the ground.

"You!" he growled before raising the club to strike the man. Apex was astonished to see the man raise his hands above his head, his palms meeting the giant weapon and bringing it to a stop. His feet sunk into the street a bit, but he appeared to be unharmed as he groaned. Using his upper body strength he tossed the weapon away to send it crashing into a building opposite of the street. Apex realized she was still laying upon the ground, but just as she snapped into focus she felt a man grab her by the shirt and lift her to her feet. He was an average looking man, carrying nothing but a bow and arrow.

"Quickly! this way!" The bandits had now made there way into the scuffle, some being dropped by arrow fire while others met hand to hand with her saviors. Apex moved as quickly as she could, the back of her leg seriously injured by the hit she had taken previously. When she had finally reached the portal the majority of the group was with her, one of them sending her through with a forceful push. For a second she felt dizzy, but within another split second she was falling onto her hands and knees in a field of grass. Blinking she looked around, a large beautiful field was her current location, in the distance was an extravagant city of elegance. Everything was quiet, and as she directed her eyes towards the large man that had taken the Titan on she gasped... He wasn't injured at all, and his size was almost over whelming.

"My name is Zeus... Welcome to New Olympus".
