Ty Lee was dead. "Both of them," said Wynne under her breath, whatever she meant by that.

Ellis, however, seemed to be alive. His eyes were closed and he was mumbling under his breath. He seemed hurt and delirious. Worry creased Wynne's face as she quickly started using magic to heal him.

"Yeah, he's always surrounded by new people it seems," Mikoto said, crossing her arms. She sounded a bit upset, for whatever reason. "I mean--" A spark of electricity bounced off her, as if reacting to her emotions. "What are either of you doing here?!" She was talking to both Deoxys and Touma now. "What if you ran into your past selves?! It's dangerous!"

She looked away, clenching her fist. "Those skeletons... don't remind me. One of them is bound to show up if we talk about him." When she heard Little My's question, she looked a bit surprised and embarassed, but otherwise didn't respond.

"Well, we're not all quite with ODMA," Dorian said. "Can't say I'm happy to be throwing us all through time, but can't be helped, right?"

LITTLE MY

“Hello? Earth to stranger? I asked why you attacked him!”

Little My was not happy that Mikasa didn’t answer her question.

Wade Wilson/Deadpool

Deadpool would look over at Quentin and feel so bad that he was so confused. It probably didn't help that he hadn't bothered to put him down, being so focused on the mission. " Well currently, we are at ODMA, getting ready to go into the past to find a Great Spirit in Touma's world," he replied back to him. He would pause for a beat. " Sorry about not giving you a choice like everyone else."

" I know, Dorian. After traveling with you for so long, I know that sticking close is important as I can use modern weapons and learn fast, but I'm still a novice at actual fighting. I don't plan on leaving your side and that includes dying."

Billy Batson/Shazam

" I think that there is a second question that should be more pressing issue to address. Were you the only ones here who got hurt or are there others still missing?"
He asked.

"Well, at least someone's having fun," Touma breathed in front of everyone. The boy was still none too eager to revisit his own dangerous past; he felt like he was breaking many unwritten rules by just being in the wrong place in time, but then again, maybe it was not too unlike being in a different dimension anyway.

"As amusing as witnessing the craft of fellow alchemists from different worlds can be, I'm afraid now is hardly the time for such frivolities," an unknown female voice suddenly said from behind however before the group could make much progress forward.

"Aah, well, fair enough, I guess," Touma said, before blinking. "... Wait, what."

Behind the group stood what looked like a young woman with lavender hair adorned in clothing of a darker purple, along with a few other figures behind, including an older looking woman with bright red hair.

View attachment 4702

"You must be the team sent for us," the girl said flatly.

"Y-Yeah, you could say that," Touma said, gingerly scratching the back of his head. "I guess that makes you the ODMA squad?"

"Indeed. I am Sion Eltnam Atlasia, but simply Sion will do," she introduced herself, though seeming hardly one for pleasantries judging from the look on her face. "I suppose your arrival came none too soon as well, since our own teleporter is a bit worse for wear right now, even if it came in the form of a multiversal state of emergency," the girl continued, nodding briefly toward Dorian.

View attachment 4703

"I guess it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise when we're talking manipulating time and space. All these people with time powers, I'm starting to almost feel a little less unique," the red-headed woman said with a bemused look, before looking to the group. "Aoko Aozaki. Don't call me Aoko. Charmed, I'm sure."

"Haven't seen you in a while, Ao- Ms Aozaki," Ben says to the redhead, in mild awe, "you haven't changed a bit. How's life treating you?"

Turning to Sion, he adds, "name's Ben. Ben Tennyson."

"World's number one genius beautiful girl alchemist, Cagliostro, right here~" Cagliostro glees.

@Atomic Knight @Jeremi @Yun Lee @amwexia @Crow @York @Lucky @Donder172 @Takumi @Crunch @Minerva @Ver @Past Gang
"Then what the heck do we call you then..." Severa muttered under her breath as these two new faces appeared. Gods, why did everyone involved in Multiversal affairs have to be so eccentric? Though out loud, she at least tried to hold her forked tongue. "So...have you guys seen any Great Spirits around here? They tend to look like weird kids."

@Ver @Atomic Knight @Jeremi @Crow @Takumi @York @Donder172 @amwexia @Crunch @Minerva
Little My turned her attention to the two newcomers. Sion, somehow, believes in the pseudoscience that is alchemy. Cagliostro was clearly using magic powers, which is way more valid than alchemy.

Aoko, meanwhile, looks like her mom, The Mymble. By extension, she looks like her sister, The Mymble. By extension, she looks like her other sister, and her other sister, and her other sister.

You get the point, Aoko looks like a Mymble.

Little My, though, didn’t mention that.

Instead, she said this:

“Hey! What’s the big idea? I was watching a magic show!”

@Ver @Crow @Atomic Knight @Jeremi @Takumi @York @Donder172 @Crunch @Minerva
"Don't worry your pretty little heads," Mae replied to the two women. "We'll sort this out quick-like."

Bayonetta nodded. "Quite right, though I'd prefer if we'd not dally? Time travel despite all precautions is a fickle beast regardless."

@Atomic Knight @Jeremi @Yun Lee @amwexia @Crow @York @Lucky @Donder172 @Takumi @Crunch @Minerva @Past Gang
Some of the questions from the group fell on deaf ears. Both Natsu and Sting were not breathing. They were beyond saving.

The stimpack helped Piper further and seemed more awake now. She thought on what Billy said and shook her head. "I don't know," she said. she gave the area a brief look over. "It's... such a mess."

"A few people have already been moved to the infirmary," Wynne said. "Makoto and Kyoko will find out if anyone is missing." As for Libra's question, Wynne had to think for a moment. "Not that I am aware of," she admitted.

There were still a few more bodies. These included Hyun Ryu, Ellis, Bart Allen, Shi-Long Lang, and Ty Lee.

@Yun Lee @Jeremi @Takumi @amwexia @Gummi Bunnies @York @Donder172 @Lucky @HQ

"Ah, yes, the scenery," Dorian responded with a sharp tone. "How could I forget?" For Dorian, the multiverse was both fascinating and dull all at once. Like the concept of time travel, Dorian felt it was all just... too much. Too much danger, too much potential for evil men to subjugate others. As much as Dorian enjoyed meeting the people from new, varied worlds, he had to question if they would all be better off being in the dark about the multiverse.

"Hold on," Dorian then said, eyeing the red gem Schala possessed. It looked peculiarly like red lyrium... and judging by the woman's description of the stone, they shared similar properties as well. "Reminds me of something that can be found in my own world," he said to Schala. "Startlingly so, for I've heard from reliable sources that such material will eventually make one go mad. Be careful with that." Interestingly, a lot of Schala's world seemed similar to Thedas, but perhaps that was not too unreasonable, all things considered.

He then turned to Connor, giving him a bit of a smirk. "Oh, Connor, I know how smart you are, but you are someone I would describe as... impulsive. But obviously I would never let harm come to you."

Then, once the group ran into the others, a bolt of electricity flew through the air, aimed at Touma.

Of course, the one who made the attack knew he'd be fine.

@Atomic Knight
Gods...this was far worse than it should be. All these casualties... "Thank you, Piper," he said, offering her a forced smile. "Make sure to rest. We will get to the bottom of this." As Foo Fighters moved on to Ty Lee, Libra made his way over to Ellis.

Severa looked at Touma. "Gawds, you really have a knack for girl trouble, don't you?"

@Ver @Atomic Knight
Ben, with quick reflexes, dialed his Omnitrix the moment lightning came, but just as quickly, Touma's Imagine Breaker cancelled it out.

"Feedba- Oh yeah, he could do that."

Right before the gang was a Middle Schooler who probably wore shorts underneath her skirt.

"I'm seeing a recurring theme with the women of your life, Touma," Ben says as he briefly glances towards Severa, then glances away, hopefully before she could catch wind. He undials his Omnitrix as it returns to its resting position.

"So, you gonna comment on the inexplicable crowd surrounding him, lass?" Cagliostro asks the girl, "or does he just have people like us by his side every week or two?"

"Oh I like her," Bayonetta smirked looking on at Mikoto's assault at Touma. "Lower your finger darling. We're friendly." She looked over to Touma. "If it's better we are also not fully associated with the boy."

Yennefer would also lay into Touma, giving him a once over. “Well, he’s not quite Geralt, but at least he can clean himself.” She said. She would back up Bayonetta. “Yes. We’re here from ODMA.”

"Touma Kamijou regularly encounters conflict with females. This is known." Deoxys flatly commented, having remained silent up until this point. It'd drift forward and halt just a few feet in front of Mikoto, the alien softly hovering in the air as it examined the girl inquisitively though it took a moment to recognize the bolts of electricity dancing between the girl's fingertips, a vision of the past resurfaced in Deoxys' mind - ruined houses, a hot dog stand, and a frustrated girl.

"Mikoto Misaka... I remember you as well during the Fiamma Incident. You were regularly accompanied by a pair of human skeletons. One of them was a vendor for food items."

Of course, Deoxys couldn't forget those two, as much as it'd like to. It turned it's head to Touma. "You recall the skeletons too, do you not?"

It was only when he got a close look at Natsu that Reiner realized he was gone. It wasn't the first time he had seen people die, nor was it the first casualty he had witnessed.

...

dHdDrM9.png

He himself after all, had both directly and indirectly killed many in his life. Back when he had believed he was doing the world a favor, that he was somehow being a hero.

It wasn't until it was too late that he realized the true weight of his actions.

Until he had been given another chance, by a freak coincidence he doubted would ever happen again.

...

With that, he steeled himself, breathing a small sigh of relief as he saw that Ellis at least, had also made it.

tdQR7gR.png

"I can't waste any more time." He muttered under his breath, and with that, tried to speed up the process of sifting through the remaining casualties.

Carefully, he would check each remaining body, listening closely for any signs that they were breathing, or in some way at least alive. If they were, he knew he wouldn't have much time to take action, so he would have to act fast...

Dorian's words initially startled Schala, as he had thought he had moved further ahead... But once she calmed herself somewhat, she found herself in thought as he also mentioned a similar kind of material from his home world.

Was there some connection? Or was it a coincidence? It was hard to say, but it did leave Schala with one, unsettling thought.

"Yes. It's... Possible dreamstone can drive someone mad. Perhaps, that is the reason my mother herself went mad with power. But I had always believed it was the source we drew it from. That Lavos himself had corrupted her mind." She said, shuddering a little.

Though she dared not say it out loud, she couldn't help but recall a strange theory she had stumbled across after she had been permanently seperated from Lavos' influence; thepossibility that dreamstone itself, was Lavos' creation. The source of his alien influence on the planet. The reason humans would one day be able to use magic.

Nevertheless, she eventually gave Dorian a gratefull smile for his insight. She doubted she could have ever understood her powers were it not for the help of those at the Coalition.

Soon enough though, her train of thought would be interrupted by Mikoto's sudden outburst, though as she realized why the reaction had been so extreme, Schala desperately scrambled to mediate the situation.

"W-... We're short on time! That's why we're here! I wish we could have informed you in advance, but the situation called for immediate action!" She stuttered a little, desperately trying to explain the reason as to why they were here.

...

In the meantime, a familiar head of brownish hair could be seen amongst the group that Schala and the others had joined up with. A woman in her early twenties, who had brandished a pistol at the sight of newcomers, only to sigh in relief and holster it again once she realized they were with the Coalition.

"Reinforcements... Thank goodness..." She said quietly.

Given the current situation. she knew they would need all the help they could get.

Sometimes, women were harsh with their truths, other times they were downright scary.

Shigure winced slightly as everyone ganged up on Touma. Something about this seemed...oddly familiar, in a sense. Who did it remind him of, though?

At least things seemed to settle down a bit with the change of topics, even if he had a feeling he didn't want to know about the skeleton they were speaking of--at least not at this moment.

"I look different? I didn't even recognize you there for a sec, kid," Aoko said, taking a moment to recognize Ben. Indeed, from the adventure in Gotham to Aoko's present in the Fiamma Incident, it had only been just a couple of months. To that end... "You musta been half as tall as me back then. Life's been pretty calm, except for the part where I bumped into these gals on a top-secret mission to look for some Junko girl!"

"A Junko girl, and a Great Spirit now," Touma added. "Though, I guess those two things aren't related, so we'd have to table--?!" He began, before she busted into the scene.

FSSSH!

The bolt of electricity that flew through the air quickly dissipated as abruptly as it appeared, followed by a sharp piercing sound as Touma -- as though having predicted the bolt beforehand -- swiftly extended his right arm out, the power of his Imagine Breaker harmlessly negating the electricity. And who else was the vendor of that electricity than a certain middle schooler electromaster...

"Don't worry, don't worry. That's just how she says hello. Her name's Misaka, by the way. Mikoto Misaka," the spiky-haired boy said unceremoniously to Little My, as though seemingly used to it by now, before he blinked as though coming to a realization.

View attachment 4705

"Wait, wait! What am I doing here?! What are you doing here?! Hold on, which Misaka are you?! Are you the Misaka native to my world so us meeting like this is a time paradox?! Or are you Alternate Misaka who was already there during the Fiamma Incident, and this meeting is still a time paradox?!"

"From your perspective, she is Alternate Misaka from the future. That is, your present, as she time traveled with us for the mission. I suppose you could say she's a temporary ODMA member for the time being," Sion flatly responded, as if easily trying to simplify this inherently complicated situation.

"So the same Misaka who asked Carissa to send Alternate Me her homemade cookies before Alternate Me had even met Carissa?!"

Who would have thought his fleeting comment from the first chapter would come back around again?

"I have no idea what's going on," Aoko laughed.

As everyone started dogpiling on Touma in the meantime, the boy only gave a depressed sigh, as though also completely used to this by now, choosing instead to bypass all of that as he spoke again. "For the record... Yes, I remember the skeletons," Touma responded to Deoxys, scratching his head. "And I thought I hallucinated them for a long time."

Facing Misaka again, Touma put a hand on his hip, before going on. "So? Did you have a lead on where this Great Spirit Muzét is? Or just, any weird energy readings throughout this fused world?"

"B-Because he deserved it," Mikoto finally said, exasperated. She shot Touma a tired look when he started going on about alternate versions. "I don't even know what you're talking about. I've been... all over time at this point. I barely know where I'm supposed to even be at this point. All thanks to that girl...!"

She let out a sigh. "Junko Enoshima, right? I can sort of... sense where she is. Vaguely. But I guess we're not looking for her now?"

"It's complicated," Dorian said, sounding exasperated himself. "But apparently the Great Spirit could know you were looking for Junko, if she wants us to find her."

"Well, without Ilona, it's going to be more difficult. But I know I can do it."

Mikoto closed her eye and electricity began to slowly build around her. The air grew slightly heavy with static and the group felt energy hum in their ears.

As the electricity built up stronger and stronger, it started to pull toward a certain direction. Mikoto opened her mouth and let out a slow breath. The electricity started to die down and she opened her eyes.

"A clock tower, somewhere in that direction. There's something going on there."

Dorian lifted his staff. "All aboard then, make sure you stay inside the magic circle."

Magical energy surrounded the group in a circle. After just a moment, the entire group was transported to somewhere new.

@Atomic Knight @York @Jeremi @Yun Lee @Takumi @Crunch @Minerva @Crow @amwexia @Donder172 @Lucky @Past Gang

1DQwo35.gif

As the electricity built up stronger and stronger, it started to pull toward a certain direction. Mikoto opened her mouth and let out a slow breath. The electricity started to die down and she opened her eyes.

"A clock tower, somewhere in that direction. There's something going on there."

Dorian lifted his staff. "All aboard then, make sure you stay inside the magic circle."

Magical energy surrounded the group in a circle. After just a moment, the entire group was transported to somewhere new.

Indeed, the next thing the time traveling group knew, they were in the hallway of an unfamiliar building of stone and brick inside, the windows exposing the group to a bright, healthy sun that seemed completely unaware of the turbulent times they were facing right now. The hallway at present seemed empty, fortunately for the group. No need for confusing time paradoxes. Or at least, more.

"... Well, here we are," Touma said, furrowing his brow. "But are you sure there's a big energy presence here? What's so special about this place in particular?" He questioned Misaka, before Sion stepped in to answer instead.

"This isn't just any clock tower. This is the Clock Tower of England, the headquarters of the Mage's Association in my world, this world," she explained, a grimace still plastered on her face, though for not much reason in particular. "The first thing to note for the purpose of the mission though, the Clock Tower also functions as a school for up-and-coming mages. We'll have to be careful not to attract any unwanted attention," Sion went on.

"Looks like it's the weekend right now," Touma said facetiously, gesturing toward the tentatively empty corridor in which they stood. "England again though, huh? Magicians really like this place, between this world and mine. I wonder how far Buckingham Palace is from here."

Ignoring the boy's words, the lavender girl continued unperturbed. "In any case, Ms. Misaka's enhanced abilities, even with the aid from our... other squadmates, is unfortunately unable to exactly pinpoint any more than the general location. That said, it may be prudent to split up into approximately two groups, not only to cover more ground but also to minimize the risk of being caught, if only by a little," Sion suggested, deciding to tentatively act as the team leader for the time being apparently.

"Any ideas on where to start then?"

"..." Sion remained silent for a moment, taking a pause as if to think, holding her chin pensively, before making a decision, her expression even more grave than usual. "I... have a hypothesis on what the energy presence here in particular might be. I can only hope that I'm wrong, but we have to be prepared for every outcome," she said, taking another pause to take a breath, before speaking again.

"I'd advise that one group split off and clear a path toward the Rooftop. If I'm wrong, then I imagine your Great Spirit might be there, where this Autumn air is in full bloom, rather than being stuck holed up in some random room here. But if I'm right, then all the same, the rooftop will make for a good rendezvous point should we need to try again."

"I think I can make that work. And the second group?"

"To follow me through the Hallway. If you'll all entertain my personal hypothesis, regardless of whether your Great Spirit is around here or not, we're bound to find... something interesting," Sion said vaguely. Deoxys hadn't a clue what all this past, future, and alternate universe nonsense was about. For all the intelligence it believed itself to have, the virus could not wrap its mind around the concept of Misaka coming from a completely different timeline. For that reason, it chose to remain silent while the rest of the team transitioned towards the Clock Tower of England. A school for mages. An intriguing prospect that Deoxys had little time to process before the call for action shifted its attention.

Deoxys' mass shifted, one pair of tentacles receding into itself while the other lengthened and thinned out like a pair of noodles. Thin and gangly, those who fought alongside the pokemon before would recognize this as it's Speed Forme. A strong telekinetic force pushed the entity off the ground and into the empty air, Deoxys softly drifting towards the wide window and placing a tentacle on the glass surface.

"I am going to the Rooftop using an alternative route."

Blip!

DEOXYS used TELEPORT!

The creature's body vanished in a flash of lavender light before quickly re-materializing on the other side of the window.

Now floating just outside the Clock Tower, the speedy Deoxys nodded to those inside the building, before soaring out of their line of sight. Amidst the clouds and rushing winds of England's caramel skyline, the DNA Pokemon sliced through the air like a raging comet, bending its spindly figure around jagged architecture and soaring in between towering spires jutting out from the side of the building as it gradually made it's way up to the Rooftop, adhering to a wide flight arc encircling the structure.

Chise would use her heightened senses to try and listen to Ellis' muttering, while trying to help Reiner check the remaining bodies for any signs of life, and would attempt to heal anyone who was still alive with her magic.

Glancing up at Frank, Chise's brows furrowed.

"I guess you've seen 'dead piles' a lot, huh?" She asked, a bit unsure what to think of his comment. The way he just...brushed it off was a bit unsettling, but maybe he was just so used to it that it stopped bothering him.

She...didn't wish for anyone to get to that point, it was a sad thing to dwell on too long.

At the mention of the fact that the Fiamma in this current time period was most likely wreaking havok, Schala closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before she exhaled, evidently struggling against her basar instincts a little for the greater good.

"History is history. To change it, makes way for dire consequences..." Schala said quietly.

Sophie in the meantime flinched at the reminder of the events taking place here, alongside the... Abnormalities that had cropped up. Nonetheless, they both would nod in agreement upon the mention of the Clock Tower.

Schala was here for the Great Spirit mostly, Sophie had been here for Junko, and for Ilona's sake, but it was looking more and more like their respective goals were going to meet in the middle.

...

Arriving at the Clock Tower, it didn't take long for each to respetively make their decisions.

"I must head to the roof. My magic is better suited for open spaces." Schala said, and swiftly made haste to do just that, following Ben's lead.

Sophie in the meantime gulped a little, contemplating her options, checking her pistol to make sure it was fully loaded, then nodded a little.

"I don't have any special powers, but I'll do what I can. I'm going to the hallway." She said timidly.

With that, she moved to carefully inch her way there, making sure she wasn't traveling alone this time. Remembering her encounter with someone who seemed immune to bullets, she doubted she alone could fight off whatever might await them.

Okay. Majima needed to actually think here. Sure he's been mostly winging it since he got called up to help with all this business, but that's only because of the extraordinary circumstances he's gotten involved with before all of this. This technically wasn't his first rodeo with time travel if memory served him right, but maybe he was just imagining that unrelated case up. Back to the actual important train of thought, though.

... Man, he really wished that his whole demon power deal allowed him to split into two or something, because he would've just gone to both the rooftop and the hallway! Then again, maybe that wouldn't be for the best, that'll probably blow a gasket with the feisty Witch of Miracles. Well gee, this was pretty difficult to think over. So what would be the most important spot to go to? Wait. The Revanchist baddies have the "haul ass to maul Great Spirit ass" mindset since this all started. If that's the case...

❝ Yeah, I'm gonna go see if I can say hi to the Great Spirit because I wanna! ❞ The middle-aged yakuza declares in an overly cheery tone that he was going to the rooftop, ultimately unfitting for their impending situation but it wasn't the first time he's acted like this. He didn't seem to care that he could be the sole annoyance of the group going to the same destination as him AND for the possible Great Spirit that could be waiting there for them.

Oh, he's already making a mad dash up the stairs.

Okay... I think this should be good now. Sorry about that, Lapis. Uh, I totally forgot that there was some more damage to your body because of your little stunt earlier. Jeez, the infirmary staff at this Coalition HQ have no idea how to deal with your weirdo condition. Don't worry about it now. It'll feel real sketch at first, but I totes used the best of my magic to keep your heart together... or something. Gosh what did the humans outside the Metaworld call it these days? Flex seal?...

The mental rambling of a familiar Witch's voice was enough to stir Lapis away for a second time in a row, and this time for sure. Wait, she was at the Coalition's infirmary bay? How long was she even out? Lapis's own mental questions only lingered as it was abundantly clear that the telepathic voice of Lambdadelta was going on about unrelated things, and that the staff here was at a loss on her own condition. It was a very specific condition that she was plagued with, and she very much had to "thank" Bernkastel for that one.

W-wait Lapis! Can't you tell that you need to rest up even more before you do something stupid again?! I swear you are so reckless. At least listen to your partn-

❝ ... gh... ❞ Her breath unsteady, it was apparent that moving as is was definitely a struggle for her.

Ignoring any protests or complications that came up from anyone present as well as mentally tuning out Lambdadelta's telepathic communications from the Metaworld, Lapis abruptly sat herself up on the bed, and of course, being harshly greeted with a sudden pang shocking her fractured heart. Weakly clutching her chest as if to hold her existence's integrity together, the Witch of Miracles forced herself to get off the bed and onto her feet. Still painful but bearable compared to her first awakening since her usage of Miracle magic.

Okay, so what was going on here? It was utter chaos from the sounds of it outside. What the heck happened at their own HQ while she was out?? She didn't hesitate on rushing out of the infirmary to see what was up, throwing any concern for her own well-being out the window in the process. The others came first, she can come second later.

"And that is precisely what I'm talking about," Ben says, looking towards Majima dashing upwards, "I'll catch up with him, just so that I can keep a good eye on him."

Ben dashes towards Majima, before dialing his Omnitrix. As a flash of green light engulfs him, he transforms into another form.

latest

"JETRAY!"

He proceeds to fly, body above the floor and soon, directly above Majima, parring with his speed effortlessly.

"Race ya, patchy."

With that, he dashed forward, overtaking Majima, and was soon lost in his own advice.

"W-Wait, guys! We're supposed to keep a low profiiile!" Touma attempted to call out as people seemed to go hogwild toward the Rooftop -- mostly Deoxys and Ben in his eyes, trying to run after the others with his otherwise normal human speed. Deoxys was one thing, but another weird creature running around like Jetray would probably make it a bit harder for them to blend in and pretend they belong even if they did bump into anyone else here. Such misfortune.

The path toward the rooftop was thankfully empty. Faint voices and footsteps could be heard from below, presumably aforementioned students of the Clock Tower walking about between classes. One could only hope that there weren't any classrooms as they made their way up past the many different corridors of the tower.

As they eventually made their way to the top level of the tower, separated from the outside into the actual rooftop only by a door at this altitude, one could easily tell that they were close to their destination. However, things were rarely that easy.

Kssh!

A sharp sound rang as Jetray in front of the others suddenly seemed to crash into some object right in the middle of the top corridor, the only thing in his line of sight being what looked like light blue projections of some sort of energy. Before long, the force pushed Jetray back several feet, and just as the rest of the group caught up from behind, they were able to see that a soft-faced young man stood in their way, his arms and legs glowing with what looked like glowing bits of armor.

"I was hoping to have lunch at my usual spot, away from everyone else, but I thought something smelled amiss. Even without that demon up there, it's not hard to surmise that you lot aren't students here," the young man sternly said, pointing toward Jetray. It didn't seem as though he was expecting them, so the boy was likely nothing more than a native of the world here. "So, that leaves the question. Who are you?"

"... Oh. C-Crap, this went south fast," Touma mumbled.

"..."

Sion was visibly pensive and intense, more than usual, as she led those who followed her deeper into the Hallway. Despite the enthusiasm of those who followed her, she definitely did not share their eagerness, even though she was the one who insisted that the source of the energy presence was over here.

"The Clock Tower... I haven't been here in so long. Not since--" She began to say, before being stopped dead in her tracks by a blood-curdling scream, muffled by what one could imagine to be a door at the end of the corridor, now within sight.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUUUUUT! I CAN'T STAND IT!"

Sion visibly went pale, her composed exterior quickly collapsing as her eyes went wide. "N-No... How could I have forgotten?!" She said, mostly to herself as she stopped dead in her tracks, even taking a step back as though considering turning around right then and there. "We... We shouldn't... I can't..." She breathed, almost in a panic, though she hadn't quite reached that just yet.

"Um." Severa looked at Sion, then to the direction of the scream, then to Sion again. Ooookay. What the heck was going on? Wasn't this a regular magical place or something? Another person may have been more empathetic. Severa was not another person. "Sooooo...do we go and see who's screaming or...?"
