Confused all the time.
Hi there, I'm ExquisitePumpkin (Though I honestly don't care what you call me... ha ha... ha...).
My friend has recently reintroduced me to the world of roleplay and, while I have done it in the past, I'm a bit cautious. I found this website, as most other roleplay websites don't have many welcoming members in their community, and thought 'why not?'
I'm not really sure what to put here, to be honest... I'm just a confused person who's not willing to talk to people in public and is probably making everything awkward.

So... um, hi?

I'm just going to edit this here with a bit more information about me as it has occurred to me that maybe you want a little more than 'I'm terribly awkward, please don't mind the person rocking back and forth in the corner of the room.'
So about me... Well I have a passion for writing, but an even bigger passion for art and, more specifically, animation. There isn't much to me really, I'm a simple person who just wants to write but is too busy drawing...
I like video games? It's been a while since I last had a good session but I used to play often, and I think that's probably what fuelled my love for fantasy in general so that's a thing. If I think of anything else I might add that, but for now I'll just leave this here.

So, what kind of RP are you interested in? Do you have some genre preference? :)
 
I can't say I do. I'm willing to try any genre of RP, though I'm probably more likely to RP in anything related to the Supernatural (so fantasy, and so on).

Well alright! You'll find a plethora of different RPs here. As Marcsun said, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. You can also always participate in chat. Most of the time, there's someone who can aid you. :)

Just be active in the chat and in the forums you can access and write in. You'll be approved soon, as long as you're active. Meanwhile you can ask around for some interesting RP. I'm gonna recommend Ame Damnee. All three of us are a part of it, so feel free to check it out and think about it. It's a fantasy setting. Of course, once you get approved, you're free to join more RPs at the same time.
 
Also, if you join us, I should warn you. We have the dankest of memes. Not in-role, but our conversations may be quite confusing :D!

Getting back on topic, welcome to STC Pumpkin. I do hope you enjoy your time here and I'm glad you find us so welcoming to new members in comparison to other sites. Unlike some other places our top priority is actually building a community with our members and get to know them first and in the process, make friends.

As for not knowing what else to put, tell us a little about yourself. You've said you've RPed before, mind me asking how long you've RPed and what's your favorite genre? Had any interesting RP stories in the past or character archtypes that you're proud in playing? Like and books, movies or video games? Ever LARPed before? That sorta stuff.

Also, here're a few links that you might find helpful, though if you still need any help don't be afraid to ask me and I'll do my best to help you with whatever you may need.

For starters, you can find the site rules here, just so you know the general rules of the site. Please be sure to read them if you haven’t already. Another important thing would most likely be both the ”Welcome Please Read Before Posting” and ”Account Approval Information” threads and “Our Comprehensive Website Guide” since they both are quite helpful in answering some questions you might have or questions that you might have in the near future as they both help you in getting to know the site’s functions, features and what we expect from our members. Everyone else seems to have taken to calling me that, so I don't see why you can't.

To answer your questions, I suppose I've been RPing on and off for years now, though I'd never be able to answer when, exactly I started. The majority of the sites I used were filled with people who rarely replied, and when they did it was mostly with single sentences. I think that's what made me stop, to be honest. I had the occasional interesting RP but those quickly fizzled as slowly the people involved left and moved on to other things. I have LARPed once or twice but that was in a more juvenile and inexperienced setting so I can't say if what I was doing was truly LARPing. Actually I think I forgot to answer it in the right order but I found that I often found most enjoyment in RPs that were mostly fantasy-based, though I can't say whether or not that was due to the people actually posting frequently or the like.

That's just Meli's way of welcoming new members. ^^ He's the GM of my RP and I can tell ya, he takes his RP very seriously. But he's a really nice guy.

Anyways, welcome to the site. You shouldn't have that "Rarely responds and with one line" issue here, this site's attracted a decent amount of detailed roleplayers. Also, I usually like to ask some ice breaker questions for newcomers... Not sure if that's needed with this thread, but I'm doing it anyways. XD

3. What was your LARPing experience like?
