Midnight Sun

Artem sat up and looked over at him, "She cannot be trusted, they are sneaky plotting creature. All they like to do is to play tricks on people and cause problems. I don't think it will be wise to keep her here, i would have preferred to make pixie stew with her corpse." Artem had a determined look in her eye, she refused to believe that the pixie is anything less than trouble. Her own statement caused the pixie to hide behind Saifus shoulder.

There wasn't anything else he could think to say to convince her, so he didn't try. "Goodnight, Artem."

Artem turned back on her side mumbling a goodnight before falling fast asleep.
The pixie watched as she fell asleep and looked at Saifu. She sat on the log beside him closing her eyes before turning into a being that was relatively his size, if not half of it. "What is your name? And thank you for saving me, your friend is very scary."

Saifu jumped up, startled at her sudden transformation. It took a moment before he sat back down. "S-Saifu. And d-don't mention it. She's rather scary sometimes."

The pixie smiled and looked at him, "You aren't from here we can tell, we apologize for scaring you but we were just trying to have a little fun." She smiled sheepishly and looked at him, "My name is Ki."

"Nice to meet you, Ki." He offered his hand. "You can stay if you like, but I'd ask you and your friends don't try to scare us again."

`"I suppose we could. It wouldn't be as fun for them with your staying in our forest. But, I suppose we could find others to play pranks on instead." She sighed and shrugged looking at him, "Your wonderfully adorable." Ki blinked at him and lifted her wings to fly around him, "Are you a human? From the world Zornop?" Ki lifted his arm examining his veins, she has never seen a creature such as him and was rather curious as was in her nature.

Ki chuckled and sat back beside him, "There are many other planets that we pixies visit, Zornop is the planet of humans. You look human, though your hair is very bright." She tilted her head and tapped her chin, "Are you human?" She leaned close to his face her eyes boring into his, pixies were curious by nature. She landed back and a mosquito flew by, she caught it with her hands before feeding it to a nearby frog. "Why are you with the kitsune girl? She is very dangerous and violent. And you seem...gentle and sweet."

Saifu decided to ignore the "are you human" question and answer the other. "We're going to the elves. I'd never make it on my own, so her father decided she would have to escort me." That was the simplest he could make it without having to explain a whole lot.

"Why no I am not. I am a pixie, which is why I reside in pixie forest." She only looked at him as though it was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard. "I suppose that is alright, I will accompany you all. I can be very useful."

It was his turn to look as though it were ridiculous, however he seemed to pity her. "You'd have to take that up with Artem," The boy pointed to his companion. "And I doubt she'll be thrilled. I'm far too weak to protect you if she decides to pull your wings off and make a stew."

Ki frowned and nodded, "I suppose you do have a point there... Well, then I will just give you my warning. The elves are very dangerous. They will seem very nice at first, but if you have information or are of value to them they will not hesitate to lock you away. Assuming your companion knows that she may be prepared. But, if not it'd do you well to warn her. It seems I must take my leave now. Please sleep well friend and come visit again!" Ki waved to him and flew of changing back into her smaller form. Artem mumbled in her sleep pulling her hood closer over her and mumbling about pixie death.

He took her words seriously, thanking her for her advice. "Take care! And don't hesitate too much of you decide to tag along anyways."

Ki gave him a small nod before flying off. The night was silent once she left, only filled with the soft breeze every so often and the light snoring of Artem.

Saifu watched her go, then glanced around at the forest. Sighing, he took the blanket, found a comfortable place beside Artem, and pulled the blanket over the both of them. Promptly, he fell asleep.

The light woke Artem up the next morning, she groaned and winced at the light lifting her hand over her eyes. She turned and shook Saifu lightly, "wake up Saifu. We have to get ready to leave." The fire had died out long ago, Artem's hair was a tangled mess. She squinted and begun gathering their belonging, "There's a river nearby we can bathe in, we should wash before we head out. I'm sure you feel uncomfortable."

He sat up, confused and rubbing at his face. The boy yawned. "Where are we going?" Saifu asked. "Oh, right.... That sounds good."

"We have a bit of way to go before werewolf territory." Artem pulled out their clothes and grabbed Saifus hand dragging him towards the sound of water. The landscape was beautiful, bright plants and the water seemed almost clear. Forest animals could be seen along the sides of the water drinking. Artem looked at him, "You go in first, I can keep watch." She turned her back to the lake and sat down in the grass watching the area with careful eyes, they had many things they needed to pass. But, she would be the one to worry about that when the time came.

After a moment's hesitation, he obliged. Saifu still looked like a wet cat afterwards, but a far less nervous one this time.
"I'm going to go a little ways into the woods," He said, not exactly wanting to be around as she bathed. Sheepishly, he added, "I promise I'll be fine."
