"What the-?!" The wolfman cried out in surprise as he found himself restrained by Scream, and the combined attacks of Jack and Mordekaiser slashed at him from every direction. He became a bloodied, tornup mess in mere seconds.

It was at that moment when Fei Long rushed into the scene. Seeing the beast in such a state, he grimaced. "You all made quick work of that thing, it seems. Now, what happened, exactly?"

"Aah...uuh...!!" The girl stopped as Mizelia spoke to her. Without warning, she started slowly lurching towards the Jedi, arms reached out for her. "Uuuh...uuuh!"

The small group in their original location found themselves surrounded by a thick silence, with only the howling wind providing any sound. That is, until...

WHAM!

"Kyaaaaaaaah!!!"

Sakura was suddenly flung to the ground and dragged off into the woods by an unseen assailant. "HEEEEELP!!!"

Despite the wolf falling to the ground Scream still didn't have her tendrils let go of the body. It had seemed sturdier than this. "Something's not right..." She murmured to herself using her symbiote to lift the body up to give it a closer look.

Observing the results of the attack, Mordekaiser was very satisfied. If he could smile, he would be. "How delightfully painful," he remarked sadistically, taking another step to the fallen monster. Giving Fei a quick glance, he replied, "I simply showed the dog his place." He balanced his gigantic mace on his right shoulder and held out his free left hand, which glowed a sickly green-blue.

He placed his hand on the dying body, intending to wring out its wraith. "Come forth, lost soul. Answer your master's call," he demanded.

The insignificant woman in the corner of his vision, meanwhile, seemed strange. Why was she acting so awkwardly and slurring her speech? Nevertheless, the revenant focused on his necromantic sorcery.​

"Whoa there, kemo sabe!" Frank exclaimed to Mordekaiser. "Not even going to wine and dine, just steal his soul like that? Cold man. That's cold."

"We think she likes you," Jack comments as the girl trudges towards Mizelia, licking her fingers. "And we also know a thing or two about this."

Those last words were followed by Jack rubbing two fingers against the strange girl's face in a slightly rough manner.

"It's amazing, isn't it? The ability to cover scars, wounds and decay."

"Long Island, get ready your planes," Laffey says, assuming a stance.

"Self-restrained limiters deactivated..."

Destroyers were but specks in the seas, but on land, they were dreadnoughts.

The KANSEN were adapted for naval combat, but an enemy, whether they be on land, sea or sky, was still an enemy. Laffey ran swiftly towards the place as the armaments attached to her back prepared for battle, loading high-oxygen torpedos.

A forest inhabited by trees, many trees. KANSEN were built to fight on the ocean, where the only things to detect were islands and enemy vessels.

"... this could work."

Laffey activated her internal radar in order to navigate through via sonar. It was just like on sea - stationary objects and moving objects, the former being the trees and the latter being Sakura.

She just had to combine the use of her internal radar with the direction of Sakura's screams. That way, she would be able to avoid other hostile moving objects while pursuing her target - the one who had captured Sakura.

Laffey was astonished for a second by the sudden ambush by her teammate and friend, Long Island, before she snapped back into existence.

"Oh. It's just you, Long Island. You're surprisingly persistent on that. Oh yeah, and this guy's Naoto. Naoto, Long Island, she's an Aircraft Carrier. You can tell from the aircraft she carries.

Also to keep you updated... we're lost, the three of us are lost with no one else around. In the worst environment possible for KANSEN like us, and her, apparently."

Laffey points towards a fourth present - the HMS Erebus.

She then turns to see someone, someone familiar.

"It's you, isn't it? You, from the dream. At least one of us will remember your face, that is why we will never forget.

So, it seems that more than one of you wishes to know about our mother. Mother's name is... mother's name is..."

What was mother? Who was she? What was her name? Jack held her hands to her head, looking through empty gaps in her head that once held certain memories.

Jack decided to say the one and only thing she knew about her mother at that point.

"Mother... is mother. Plain and simple."

Fei Long sighed, not exactly happy with finding the source of such a noise. "As dangerous as this could be, our best course of action right now is to stick together. Those of you who don't want to come along, wait right here until we get back!" And with that, the actor joined the others in the hunt.

"Make that five!" Sakura responded to Laffey, joining the others staying behind. "Whatever that thing is...I don't wanna be near it!"

Using the Force, Mizelia would sense two people up ahead, just a few yards away. And sure enough, as Scream and the others investigating the roar arrived on the scene, they found two people: a teenage girl and a colossal wolf monster.

"Ah...ahhh...!" Noticing the others, the girl started rushing towards them, particularly honed in on Simon.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!" The monster screamed. Rushing towards her as she ran, he raised one of his massive hands, readying to swipe at the girl!

The monster's cry could be heard throughout the whole forest, even by those moving away from it or staying in place. Crows flew away en masse at the sound, causing Sakura to jump.

"Eek! D-Do you think everyone is okay?" She asked those around her.

Scream was not one squeamish to murder, but she wasn't going to let this monster hurt a seemingly innocent young girl.

"You seem to be able to scare small girls, but what happens when you face me!" Leaping unto the werewolves back, Screams hair started to wrap around its arms and legs in an attempt to restrain him. Maybe this creature could tell them what they wanted to know?

Frank meanwhile just looked on as this was happening. "Man, I really should have nabbed some popcorn!"​

Jack starts off, concealing her presence and being undetected by all, thanks to her trait of being summoned as an Assassin-class Servant. Next, a poisonous smog veiled the area surrounding everyone, and also covered the lupine beast's body.

A preemptive strike was alloted to Jack thanks to the night sky and her nature as an unfound Serial Killer, allowing her to land a single slash at the back of the beast's neck undetected!

This was going to be boring.

"Hey, Long Island," Laffey nudges to her fellow Eagle, taking out some sort of portable console resembling a 3DS from her overcoat and opening it, "you brought the stuff? Ayanami's online at this time... probably...

... oh, she is... and she needs a party for Monhun."

Well now this was a strange situation....not that the situation wasn't already strange... The beastman seemed very much hostile and so Lloyd quickly thought up a strategy as others jumped in with their own.

"Nino stay back! Take advantage of your range with your tome..."

"Right!"

Lloyd was quick to draw his blade which was a sword capable of using light magic commonly referred to as a 'Light Brand'. Lloyd remained calm as usual as Nino prepared her spell tome though due to the close proximity of others they didn't make their move yet. Seeing what Scream was up to they decided to hold back for a moment while Jack went in. Come to think of it where did she even come from...? Lloyd had lost track of the girl upon arriving at this scene now that he thought about it.

"State your business with that girl, beast or we'll be forced to slay you..." Lloyd states taking his fighting stance to prepare himself.

Lloyd is a Swordmaster and his chosen stance reflected this remaining confident despite knowing almost nothing about his possible opponent.

Hiruko lazily followed along with the group, though did occasionally look back to see if Booette was even keeping up.



Oh? Well this was getting a little interesting now. Remaining on Formalin, Hiruko crossed his legs and propped his chin in his palm, waiting to see what would happen next what with a few of the others being quick to jump in.

Seishin meanwhile, stayed out of the conflict for the time being. It wasn't like he had anything to necessarily defend himself with anyway.

The metal husk chuckled lightly at Frank's response. "I tend not to consume the souls I capture unless they become particularly obsolete to me. I simply summon them as my instruments of war to do my bidding. They are much more useful that way," he replied. He pondered the part about punishing the wicked. "To the living, I am called many things worse than wicked. It is convenient that you no longer interested in that business, for the two of us would be engaged in battle right now."​

Mordekaiser's armor clanked rhythmically until he stopped once the beast was in sight. His enemy appeared to be a brutish wolf-man. Judging by appearance alone, the warlord still couldn't tell where he might be. However, if he managed to curse his soul, he could force some information out of him. Thankfully, the symbiote had yet to defeat the creature.

"Worry not weakling," Mordekaiser sneered, "I have already decided his fate."

With that, he marched into the fight. Focusing on the enemy, he stretched his arm out toward him, a light blue energy emanating off of Mordekaiser's armor. A stream of metal shrapnel guided by the Black Mist shot toward the adversary before it expanded and instead turned into a hurricane of shrapnel.

The pieces within the storm would cut and tear into the beast's hide randomly, but would harmlessly pass through anybody else. Once he got in range to brutalize his opponent, he held his mace in his right hand and swung upward, aiming to hit the monster's chin. Hopefully the fiend would be distracted from the attacks from the back and be less prepared for the frontal attack.​

❝ Noisy... ❞ Erebus mumbled once she heard the monster's cry. Well, a handful of people went ahead to take care of that, so she saw no reason to press on. Lingering with the people that stayed behind, she walked over to the two ships she found familiar. The USS Laffey and the USS Long Island, both from the Eagle Union. From there, she wasn't sure on what to say. She wasn't really the talkative type, yet she felt inclined to meet up with them. Probably for the fact that this was an unforeseen situation.

Booette found herself wandering near the commotion regarding that beast. Just as she realized how close she was to the situation, she... cowered and covered her face like it were a pure instinct of hers. She looked like she thought that she was invisible, but even when cowering, she was still visible. She couldn't do so much when that monster in question was looking straight at her!

Frank's eyeless sockets seemed to squint at Mordekaisers remark, before he gave him a pat on the shoulder before he headed towards battle. "Oh you're just the most precious thing." Once again Frank stood back as the others attacked the wolf. He didn't really have a point to attack him. Not like it had done anything to them or anything.

Simon wasn't sure what to make of what Jack was saying, but all the same... He felt relieved to know at least she remembered him.

Maybe it wasn't a dream after all? Maybe... Maybe that strange experience was real.

It still didn't quite explain why his legs were still working though.

"Simple, huh... I-..." He was cut off by the screma of a girl running towards them, honing in on him at first... Catching him offguard.

Following behind her was a humongous beast raising a claw, ready to swipe at her!

With a shout of surprise, he fumbled for his glock 19, trying to steady his aim on the beast as he shouted at it, in an effort to intimidate it.

"Stay back! Stay back or I'll shoot!" But... The beast probably didn't even have time to process that threat, as it was quickly diced to pieces thanks to it being restrained by one of the more monstrious members of their group, then slashed by both Jack, and... Mordekeiser.

His hands still shaking, he put away his gun for now, taking deep breaths as he tried to calm himself, deciding to check up on the girl who had run towards him, make sure she was okay... As she looked quite shaken up to say the least.

Not looking up just yet, he spoke to Fei Long first.

"Chased... She was being chased by it." He said, motioning to the now at least neutralized mess that once was the werewolf-like creature.

Turning back to the girl, he decided to speak with her, hoping for some kind of response... Within reason of course.

"Are you okay? Can you speak?" He asked.

His attention was momentarily taken though by what Jack was doing, as he felt this impulse to stop her, quickly grabbing Jack's hand, pulling it away from the girl.

"Jack! D-... Don't do that! We have to... Be more polite..." He exclaimed.

In that moment, he sounded almost like some parent scolding their child, but that notion quickly faded once it became obvious he was a little confused, and worried... For both the girl that had run towards him, and for what Jack's reasoning might be behind her own actions.

Long Island seemed to mull over the concept of getting lost, before shaking her head.

"Lost...? Long Island can't be lost!" She protested, but... Fortunately this protest didn't last long.

An excited look crossed her face as Laffey brought out her 3DS, as she began rummaging through her pockets, looking for her own 3DS, but... To no avail.

"Can't find it! Long Island can't plaaaay!" She protested, but it was then that the 3DS fell to the ground, apparently having eluded her frantic searching until just now.

"Found it!" She shouted excitedly.

But that excitement didn't last for long, as Sakura was suddenly grabbed by something in the woods.

Fortunately, Laffey seemed to have her thoughts together, which meant that Long Island simply had to follow her lead, nodding a little as she seemed to be assuming a stance of her own, patting her pockets to make sure her 'planes' were still there before she spoke again.

"Come on Erebus-chan! Follow me... Hehe~ they won't know what hit them..." She said excitedly.

It was hard to say if she was still under the impression she was some kind of ghost, but it did look like she was combat ready, and preparing to save Sakura from whatever had grabbed her.​

"Uuuh!" The girl groaned in surprise as Jack rubbed at her cheek, and retaliated by...biting her? Indeed, the girl turned her head and clamped her mouth down on Jack's hand, ignoring Simon and everyone else for the time being. Though anyone nearby would notice a small blue spot on her cheek...

"Wolf, Wolves..."

"?!" Fei Long abruptly turned, hearing a voice from the wolf body. It seemed that Scream's theory was right...something wasn't right at all. In fact, it seemed as if the wounds were healing on his body at a rapid pace.

"Wolf, Wolves..."

Mordekaiser would find there was a...slight hitch in extracting a wraith. As in, there was no wraith to extract.

"Wait! Don't tell me that thing is...still alive?!"

"ICY BARRIER!!!"

Suddenly, the wolfman's body became encased in a thin layer of ice. Still held in Scream's restraints, the ice layer began growing rapidly, as if to stretch the restraints to their limit.

"A HA HA! HA HA HA HA HA!" His laughter echoed within the clearing. "Nice try, bastards, but you can't kill what can't die!"

As Laffey started for Sakura, she would find that there was nothing showing up on her sonar save for trees. And it seemed Sakura was being dragged off to a very specific place, with a singular destination in mind. But it wouldn't matter for long, as suddenly, both Laffey and Long Island would feel their bodies grabbed by some sort of unseen force, and begin to be pulled away just as Sakura was.

"Son of a-!" Scream hated to be as paranoid as she was, except when it seemed to be right on the money. Fine if this wolf guy wanted to get free she'd oblige him. Jumping to her feet on his back Scream leaped back letting go with her tendrils. The symbiote didn't like fire, but she wasn't about to see what sheering cold did to it either.

Frank meanwhile seemed both surprised and excited at what was going on.

"A werewolf AND ice powers?! You hit the super power lottery, didn't you buddy?" He just shrugged before continuing. "So what are you gonna do now? Healing powers are fun and all, but we kind of got you outnumbered. What's your game and who's the kid biting the other kid."​

And it seemed Sakura was being dragged off to a very specific place, with a singular destination in mind. But it wouldn't matter for long, as suddenly, both Laffey and Long Island would feel their bodies grabbed by some sort of unseen force, and begin to be pulled away just as Sakura was.

"It's simple really even a beast like this can be disabled if needed... Even if he can heal quickly I doubt he'll be able to fight efficiently with a limb or two removed.. "

Lloyd states calmly walking towards the wolfman regardless of the dangers that were present. His steps were slow and cautious like he was expecting something to happen as he approached his sword in hand. He didn't really prepare an attack since in a way he was interested in how Frank's question may be answered.

By this point Nino had her spell tome opened and seemed to be preparing to cast a spell.

"Wolf, Wolves..."

"?!" Fei Long abruptly turned, hearing a voice from the wolf body. It seemed that Scream's theory was right...something wasn't right at all. In fact, it seemed as if the wounds were healing on his body at a rapid pace.

"Wolf, Wolves..."

Mordekaiser would find there was a...slight hitch in extracting a wraith. As in, there was no wraith to extract.

"Wait! Don't tell me that thing is...still alive?!"

"ICY BARRIER!!!"

Suddenly, the wolfman's body became encased in a thin layer of ice. Still held in Scream's restraints, the ice layer began growing rapidly, as if to stretch the restraints to their limit.

Looks like the best bet was her Noble Phantasm - a power that needed three conditions to be at its peak.

One, it must be night. Check.
Two, it must be misty. Can be done.
Three, the target must be a woman. Nope.

Two of three conditions were more than enough.

Yanking the strange girl(or at least, part of her) along as she began to run towards the wolfman, she materialised a lantern that unleashed her mist, the mist surrounding the wolfman as she swiftly ran in circles around him. It was toxic, poisonous, and even those resistant to such effects would feel weakened by it, every trait dropping by a single grade, effectively slowing the beast's regeneration in the process.

She would soon be ready, evidenced by her keeping her lantern and unleashing a knife that began to be cloaked in a cursed miasma.

Abruptly, the Lord of the Shadow Isles stumbled back as his magic fizzled miserably. "Hm?!" he exclaimed. It appeared that he had underestimated his enemy. To expect some primitive thing to be capable of such powerful magic was out of Mordekaiser's egotistic intellect. He grumbled in irritation, being denied what was rightfully his. Still, the wolfman was intriguing. It felt as if he didn't have a soul. "The inability to die is most familiar to me," he began, laughing lightly, "We shall see if you are truly immortal. If I cannot take your soul, then I shall beat you into submission."

It was at that moment when Fei Long rushed into the scene. Seeing the beast in such a state, he grimaced. "You all made quick work of that thing, it seems. Now, what happened, exactly?"

"Aah...uuh...!!" The girl stopped as Mizelia spoke to her. Without warning, she started slowly lurching towards the Jedi, arms reached out for her. "Uuuh...uuuh!"

"We think she likes you," Jack comments as the girl trudges towards Mizelia, licking her fingers. "And we also know a thing or two about this."

"Wait...defending yourself?" Fei Long scoffed. "What could a little girl like her possibly do to cause a superpowered beast like you harm?"

"A little girl? Heh, she does look like it. But take it from me, she ain't normal! She smells like death!"

"Absolutely ridiculous, that girl-"

The combined yanking from Jack and Mizelia's hand on her shoulder resulted in something highly unusual. The girl stood in place...from the neck up. Her head had become completely detached from her neck, and stayed latched onto Jack's hand, gnawing contentedly as if nothing had happened.

A scream rang out from a few feet nearby, as a blur of pink sped past them all on the ground, followed by two other blurs shortly after.

"Hey, that sounds like a chase!" The wolfman's ice shield cracked and shattered all around him, and what stood before them all now was a large man.

"Doesn't that look more fun than trying to kill me? C'mon, let's chase after 'em while I still have their scent!"

"Wait a minute, weren't you just..." Fei Long trailed off as the man gave chase to the three girls being dragged away. The actor shook his head. "Even werewolves can't resist a chase, I suppose. We should get going, too-I think those were some of the girls that stayed behind!"

Seishin moved to follow after the Werewolf, after giving a brief look of concern to Jack as the undead girl continued to bite and naw at her without much care in the world. Honestly, what has he gotten into?

Just then, the odd girl's head and body parted, Jack with the head and Mizelia with everything else.

"So I was not the only one who noticed," Jack further rubbed the girl's cheeks with her free hand in an attempt to remove more of this supposed makeup. After hearing the scream and noticing everyone heading there, Jack, leaving the main body with Mizelia and still holding the head. She simply followed the rest as they ran for the source of the sound. Disappearing nigh-immediately, undetected, all while still having a head stuck to her hand.

Well this was interesting... So as they understood it this beast turned man was merely defending himself from the girl who now was totally something more. Lloyd didn't fully understand that situation but he did understand one thing. People were in trouble as he noticed the male run after them. Nodding to Nino they both chased after the male following this force that had those girls.

"He's right! We need to go after them rather than continue this fruitless fight against him..."

"My brother and I are sorry for almost attacking you.." Nino would say to the man as she ran after him and the others. She held her spell tome close as she ran with Lloyd who kept his sword in hand expecting to need to act quickly once they catch up to whatever it was that had these girls.

"Ngh...hey! Knock that crap off!" The wolfman cried out from behind his icy shield, refusing to come out when both Jack and Mordekaiser started to drain his powers. "Jeez! A guy can't even defend himself without a gang of psychos coming for him! Let me guess, you're DWMA's elite, huh?"

"Wait...defending yourself?" Fei Long scoffed. "What could a little girl like her possibly do to cause a superpowered beast like you harm?"

"A little girl? Heh, she does look like it. But take it from me, she ain't normal! She smells like death!"

"Absolutely ridiculous, that girl-"

POP!

The combined yanking from Jack and Mizelia's hand on her shoulder resulted in something highly unusual. The girl stood in place...from the neck up. Her head had become completely detached from her neck, and stayed latched onto Jack's hand, gnawing contentedly as if nothing had happened.

"What in the-"

"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!"

A scream rang out from a few feet nearby, as a blur of pink sped past them all on the ground, followed by two other blurs shortly after.

"Hey, that sounds like a chase!" The wolfman's ice shield cracked and shattered all around him, and what stood before them all now was a large man.

"Doesn't that look more fun than trying to kill me? C'mon, let's chase after 'em while I still have their scent!"

"Wait a minute, weren't you just..." Fei Long trailed off as the man gave chase to the three girls being dragged away. The actor shook his head. "Even werewolves can't resist a chase, I suppose. We should get going, too-I think those were some of the girls that stayed behind!"

Try as she might to attack, Laffey would discover that there was no one around them that was able to be hit. Whatever was pulling on them wasn't invisible, it was nonexistent. At least, not in tangible form; if Laffey were to look down, she would see in her shadow that her leg was gripped by another shadow, this one of a large talon. Sakura and Long Island seemed to both have the same predicament, as well.

Suddenly, everyone who had stayed behind in the clearing would feel themselves getting dragged through the forest against their will by an unseen force!

"What the-" Mizelia lets go of the girl as her head detaches from the body. "Let's get after them..." Mizelia said in agreement towards Fei Long, being on her guard after the seemingly undead girl losing her head. She starts chasing after the blurs. Using augmenation to move faster.

"Is there a problem?" Jack asks Mizelia.

Just then, the odd girl's head and body parted, Jack with the head and Mizelia with everything else.

"So I was not the only one who noticed," Jack further rubbed the girl's cheeks with her free hand in an attempt to remove more of this supposed makeup. After hearing the scream and noticing everyone heading there, Jack, leaving the main body with Mizelia and still holding the head. She simply followed the rest as they ran for the source of the sound. Disappearing nigh-immediately, undetected, all while still having a head stuck to her hand.

"Just... never mind."

She found herself in a dark, damp, cold forest. Was this a dream? Or a nightmare?

Had she been so lost in thought that she didn't notice? The Holy Warrior lightly shivered as the deadly breeze brushed past her exposed skin. sometimes she wondered if the gods knew that this armor didn't cover her entire body.

That being said, it had served her well until this point. Sophitia was no stranger to harsh enviornments or dimensions during her quest for the Soul Swords. Thankful that she had her holy weapons by her side, the powerful warrior continued to walk down the path until she heard a scream. Just what was this place?

"Gods... Protect me from this darkness..." Sophitia mumbled a soft prayer beneath her breath.

She decided to follow the source of the screams. Whoever it was, it looked like they needed help!

Free grinned down at Nino. "Hey, don't even worry about it! I've gotten into so many fights, it's a normal thing! Or it was...? I dunno, I was kind of in prison for two hundred years, so my memory's a little fuzzy..."

"You really can't die, can you?" Fei Long had joined them, the headless body of the zombie girl slung over his shoulder.

"Sure can't! Even with all your guys' weird powers, I don't think anything can finish me off..."

Just up ahead, explosions rang out. "...that's not good."

Fortunately, it seemed that Laffey's torpedos did the trick. The flashing lights striking the shadowy limbs caused them to shrivel up and vanish, leaving her, Sakura, and Long Island free.

Sakura shakily got to her feet, brushing herself off. "Th-Thank you," she said, then gasped. "The others! I think I saw more shadows pass me as I was dragged..."

Scream was perched on a tree branch on top of them as Fei Long and the Rider a bit after him came onto the scene. "We can put that to the test if you want." She had not taken a liking to the weird guy, nor did she trust him. But for the time being Scream was just going to keep an eye on him and nothing more.

The Rider as well got a chuckle at Free's remark. "Living forever's not what it's cracked up to be. I should know, I'm pushing a million!"

"And I look like crap!" Then the ensuing explosion. "Huh...we should probably check that out, right?"​

As Sophitia traversed the forest, dark energy would soon ensnare her senses, causing her to grip her weapons tighter and narrow her eyes.

There was a malevolent spirit here, possibly more than one. Did Soul Edge really have this much of a powerful influence?

The Holy Warrior pinpointed one of the energy signatures and moved in that direction, soon finding Ghost Rider, Scream, and the rest of their group.

Appalled by the sight of these horrors, she brandished her Omega Sword and pointed it at Frank with a dark glare on her features.

"HALT! Your days of terrorizing this peaceful forest are over!"

A thick, black, poisonous fog would begin to veil Sophitia, weakening her with every breath of the toxic environment she took into her body, and adding slivers of poison to her body with each passing second.

"OK OK," Laffey sighs as they all finally got out of the situation, "lead the way, Sakura."

She turns to Long Island for a bit. "I think we should keep our distance from the shadow things. They're undetectable by radar, but something more visual should be possible."
