Riders of Scavenger Island

Slode grinned at the two heads nuzzling his palm, happy to be accepted by the wily creature. Creatures? It certainly seemed that it was infact two different minds, as they snapped and snarled at each other over which head got to be pat by which hand.

Watching the right head envelop the left in a plume of gas, followed quickly by a retaliatory strike in the form of sparks flying into the eye’s of the right from the left, he was struck by inspiration. “I think i’m gonna call you two Snap,” he points to the left head, “and Snarl.” He points to the right, hoping to forestall any sort of argument.

At this the dragons shared a look with each other and, seemingly deciding that they liked the names, immediately used their tail to swipe Slode’s legs from under him, a deep chortle running through their frame as the man hit the ground.

Groaning a little out of the pain in his leg, Slode stood again. “Very funny you two. Now you get to carry me while we search for a friend.” He tells them, leaning on the body of the dragon who, out of mild shame from injuring their new Rider, aid Slode in continuing into the forest.

Ren saw the world tip and pain arched through her ribs as Theoc lifted her up to Scarwings back. "Ow." Was all she was about to say. Every flap of the dragon's wings made her head and ribs throb. "Uhg...how did I get in this mess again?" She turned her head back to see the teal dragon following them dutifully and a grin came to her face. She had a dragon.

They landed out side a hut and she was passed over to a cot where a druid woman went to poking and prodding her ribs. "Fix it.. don't poke it ..." she hissed in pain, "Is the dragon still there?"

@Azathoth

The woman looked to be around her mid 20s. She has blue eyes and brown hair tied in a three braids, and wore leather armor, similar to that of Theoc's. Her left hand is missing its ring finger.The woman waved and watched as the Skrill landed with the Viking on the beast's back. "Well hello there. I haven't seen you in the village and I definitely haven't seen a tamed Skrill around here before. I'd be right to assume you're one of the newcomers right? Call me Feeding Sylna or Sylna for short." She asks. Next to her the Night Terrors gorged themselves on freshly caught fish while the Gronkle kept them in line.

@TheGreenerGrey

The two/three made their way deeper into the forests. Night was approaching fast and the forest became darker and darker till only a dragon can see clearly in the thick blackness. However with two heads, Snap and Snarl could hear the sound of what seems to be a pack of several dragons moving together and he walked towards the noise, following Slode's orders. It wasn't long until they were right on top of the sound. The two heads used their long necks to grab Slode and push him through the treeline, branches and all to allow him have a bird's eye view of the dragons. In front of them is a small herd of 6 Buffalords, either grazing on the grass or sleeping on the ground. They don't even seem to notice the group and if they did they didn't care.

@aryamajor

"The dragon is still there. It has become rather attached to you." Said Theoc. The Druid was outside as to not interfere with the medicine woman's work. The woman took a towel and began to smear Buffalord saliva onto the wounds. Friydem had his head poking through a window in order to watch his new Rider in order to make sure she's safe.

Averix was slowly walking through the woods. He’d followed the others here, but something Shining had caught his eye, it wasn’t loot sadly just the Moon caugh in a puddle, it was kinda Nice, he sighs. And holsters his Axe. He goes over to the shade and covers himself in foilage, maybe he can scare a dragon into submission? Either way he was thinking mighty about this ambush, then he re thought and wish he’d had bait, or a reward for the dragon. He looked at all the gold on his arms. Maybe he could bribe a dragon?

“Hmmm. These... aren’t what we’re looking for.” Slode decides, scratching the Snarl on the crown of his head. “Let’s keep moving, leave them in peace.” He orders, lightly stepping past the herd of buffalords and deeper into the forest.

"It better be," she joked as the medicine woman worked. It was then that she realized the arrow was still clutched in her hands. When the medicine woman was done, she felt a little better but it would take some time for the ribs to heal up. Gripping the arrow in her hands, she grunted as she snapped the bolt in half and then tossed it to the side. "Is it a male or female?" Ren was told it was male and she chuckled. "Aye, how about the name Friydem?" The teal monstrous nightmare ducked his head in agreement as its big eyes followed her. She held her ribs and slowly sat up with a wince, before looking to Theoc. "So, how about a night flight? I'm not missing this for a few broken ribs."

@ODSTDRAGON

The moving of foliage has caught the notice of a dragon flying out towards the ocean. A large flat blue dragon takes a quick dive to see what was there. A Thunderdrum has arrived to see what was going on as it sniffed around for any sign of the disturbance but couldn't see anything in the dark forest.

@TheGreenerGrey

The Dragon continued forth into the forest, looking for more dragons. However night was only a few minutes upon them. A swarm of Night Terrors were the harbingers as a dozens flew above them like backs, blotting out the night stars with their black bodies. A few had stayed behind to sniff the area for possible prey as the greater swarm stayed in the air close-by.

@aryamajor

Theoc smiles at Ren's eagerness from outside. "Skarwing and I will be waiting for you. Just try not to hurt yourself getting up." He teased as the young man mounts his aged Nadder and prepares to take off.

“Hmm. Maybe night will yield us better results. Pretty sure you two want someone your size who can hold their own, eh?” He remarks to Snap and Snarl, lightly pinching their side as he continues through the forest, eventually reaching a clearing.

"I'm tougher than I look," she replied. She put her letter best back on and tightened it over her broken ribs to hold them steady. It hurt like hell, but she wasn't about to let it stop her. The bump from the hit to her head had gone down a little so whatever medicine it was they had given her. With as deep of a breath her ribs would allow, she rose to her feet and walked at the door to greet Friydem and Theoc. "Let's go."

Averix pops out of the foilage and onto the dragon* Hi there! Your a massive one aren’t ya? * he pats the dragons head and dangles a shiny gold bracelet in front of him* You down for a treasure hunt under the waves?

@TheGreenerGrey

In the clearing, the two dragons immediately went on the defensive as they sensed an invisible foe all around them. Leaves rustled despite there being no wind and branches snap as a pack of dragons slowly moved in on this potential prey.

@aryamajor

"We should be long. Grandmother should be done finding lodging for you and your friends and stables for your dragons." Said Theoc. "But for now, try to keep up." He said and immediately takes off into the sky with great speed.

Before Ren could leave the medicine woman taps her back with a staff. "You want to keep the arrow?" She asks and held up the arrow. The arrow seemed to be expertly made with owl feathers for the fletching. The arrow seemed familiar to her, a design that she has seen before in the past.

@ODSTDRAGON

The dragon was spooked by the sudden mounting of the Viking and the Dragon suddenly freaks out, bucking like a horse in order to throw the Viking off.

Slode let out a sigh. “Sorry guys, still not what we want. But it seems like whatever’s there thinks they can take us.” He says, voice rising with eagerness as he cracked his knuckles and withdrew his axe, ready the moment anything changed. To his side, gas began to leak out of the closed mouth of Snarl whilst Snap menacingly sparked.

@TheGreenerGrey

The Changewings, still camouflaged, didn't retreat as there was three of them and they all were ready to pounce at any time. However right before they attacked, they soon were distracted by the call of another dragon. However this was younger, maybe a hatchling or early juvenile at oldest. The Changewings revealed themselves due to the distraction, allowing Slode time to attack or escape.

“This is our chance. Let’s go!” Slode whispers urgently to Snap and Snarl, urging the dragon along whilst the changewings were distracted, dashing past the changewings, making sure to hit the blade of his blade along the back of the closest dragon’s head. Behind him followers Snap and Snarl, leaving a trail of gas that Snap quickly ignited.

Grinning just a little at the adrenaline, Slode followed in the direction of the dragon call. He was interested in what it could be.

@TheGreenerGrey

The gas explodes, scaring off the Changewings as they camouflaged and scurried away. Slode and his Dragon made their way towards the sound into a thick patch of bushes, where the sound was emanating. The two heads did a quick search through the brush and when they had found the source, Snarl grabs and uproots a bush to reveal a hatchling Deadly Nadder. The baby Dragon seemed to have either fallen out of the nest or had been abandoned, but it continued to cry out for its mother for food but in vain.

To say Slode was surprised to see the baby madder would be accurate. The baby was in the middlebrow of nowhere, and he hadn’t seen the telltale signs of a Nadder infestation. It was just... there. Crying out for its mother. It couldn’t have been more than a few weeks old.

Long dead instincts arose in Slode as, after sharing a glance with Snap and Snarl who were looking on curiously, he reached forward to pick up the hatchling.

@TheGreenerGrey

The Baby Nadder wasn't sure what was going on. A strange thing was picking it up and it didn't know if the new being was supposed to be a threat or a caretaker so it simply continued to call for food. The baby couldn't be more then a few days old at best as it wings weren't yet strong enough to fly nor are its tail spikes grown in yet.

Ren started toward her dragon, not feeling great but ready to fly. She wasn't about to let Theoc get the jump on her, but a tap on the shoulder stopped her. Turning, she found the healer woman offering up the broken arrow as if she should keep it. What would she do with a nasty, broken bolt? Ren started to tell the woman to toss it until her her eyes caught on the fletching at the end. Owl feathers. Mustering a half smile, she took the pieces and nodded. "Aye. I'll keep this one. Souvenir."

Ren took the arrow from the woman and then climbed aboard Friydem, whose head was bent low, ready to go. "C'mon and lets fly. We can let that grandmomma's boy beat us, eh?" With that, they took off into the night after Theoc. The cool night air still felt good on her cheeks and she chuckled...though it was stopped short by the stabbing in her ribs and the thought of them being on the island. She hadn't run nearly enough and brought them to this place more than likely. Being trouble had it's disadvantages and she wouldn't be able to stay. When she finally caught up with Theoc, she looked over to him. "Caught you," she grinned, gliding above him. She might as well enjoy the moment while it lasted.

Garm smiled at her, "It's a pleasure to meet you Sun, My name is Garm, and this girl right here I'd Blitz." He gestured to the aforementioned dragon, who guilty, had to tear her gaze away from the nearby food, she gave the other rider a friendly huff, and tried not to look at the fish again.
"Me and her where originally just out for a nice flight, but decided to go hunt and bring some back for the village after the hospitality they've shown us." He said, Blitz flicked the back of his head with her tail, "And to feed you to ya big baby," Blitz huffed and dropped down spreading out her limbs,"Would you know of any areas to hunt in Sylna?"

As quick as a flash, the expression on the dragons face changed from pure hatred to some... other emotion. And then it's tongue wiped over her cheek, collected the slime that was slowly dripping down it. She nearly flinched, but pressed her hands further into the nest under her to try to stop herself from lurching backwards. Clearly, the dragon had a change of heart, and she wasn't keen on it switching back.

Seconds later, little versions of the dragon in front of her bounded into her view. Their scaly bodies climbed all over her, scratching uncomfortably at her skin. They sure were cute, she noted, refraining from reaching out to pet them just in case they decided that she was their food. She slowly began shuffling backwards toward the opposite end of the nest before she began to push herself up onto her feet. A part of her wanted to stay with the babies and learn about them, but the heart pounding in chest was trying to convince her not to. Of course, she chose to stay with the babies, awkwardly watching them from the side of the nest as they shuffled around, staring at her.
