The Evrensel Conflict The Evrensel Conflict -- Chapter 1: The Only Easy Day was Yesterday

Mundi oriented the neural harness in its hand one point down replying to Xiao, "A neural harness is a brain interface you can take off! Master has no body to talk with! Master needs a neural harness to offer you communications or for Master to respond help you talk to others wherever they are like 1066 Norman!"

The drone leans over to look toward the noise of someone calling for help from the front, "Time may seem slower while the harness scans your brains for master to be able to see you. It won't hurt! Just don't remove it before Master leaves first! There appear to be more individuals nearby. I'll go open the door!"

Mundi sets down two of the silver wire neural harnesses and zooms off to the front where it heard BJ. It stops only to pick up a big of fertilizer and set it on its head. The robot inspects the stone wall for a moment before the nanofabricator starts drilling through stone. It takes significantly longer however given the material.

The cheerful voice talks through the stone, "Hello! I'm Mundi! It's not safe outside. Known hostiles don't talk. I must drill through the debris! Who are you?"

BJ jumped out of the way when Mundi drilled through the wall, and when the robot began talking to him, BJ couldn't help but just look at it. Here he was, standing in the middle of a destroyed city, currently being bombed, having fought Nazi's earlier in the day, accompanied by a man called Soap, and yet still he was able to be shocked by whatever this machine was, which could talk to him, and had the voice of a small child.... What a world he lives in! "Uh... Blazkowicz. William J. Blazkowicz." He answered. Minutes after the first bombing, another followed suit, this time on the opposite end of the city.

Then another bomb, and another, and another, within ten minutes a wall of fire was surrounding the outer edges of the city and was slowly centering towards everyone. No street, block, neighborhood and building would be left unscarred, everything would burn and no one would escape. They circled the entire city with fire, and the only chance of survival from this was to go deep underground, but they needed to go fast, because the circle of fire was getting closer to the center minute by minute. Everyone needed to find a subway entrance.

Once the second blast hit, BJ swore aloud. "Shit!" Not waiting for Mundi to respond, BJ bolted inside the store and past the others, yelling out Soap's name. He looked between the shelves to find the Scotsman, and luckily did. A shelf had fallen on top of the soldier and was knocked out, likely from one of the cans landing on his head. He was in a small crevice, as the shelf hit another, so thankfully not pinning him. "Soap!" BJ yelled out again, reaching in to grab him.

As all this chaos happened, another strange situation happened. Every villain or morally questionable anti-hero trapped in the city was now gone. As with before, they were all teleported away by a neon flash of bright green light; taken away from certain death. A rather strange situation for them, but one that was in their favor.

"Observation: It would appear that a high-class bomber vessel is making a bombing sweep of these city ruins. That large wave of fire looks most exciting. Statement: I would advise that we immediately retreat from the city. Analysis shows that this wave will not last very long but will still be able to make a complete sweep of the city." "Right, got it, metal-head. Well, I'm not sure about you but I can just punch my way out of this city by using my Dust as a propellant." "Declaration: It would be wise if we were to stick together on this one. As much as I despise you and your poor taste on humour, we need each other if we are to survive." "Alright then, hold onto me and I'll propel us both out of here." HK then hesitantly grabbed a hold of Yang and she used her strength to punch projectiles behind her, launching her from the ground onto the rooftops, in which she jumped from roof to roof using her gauntlets. "God, you're heavy... Thank god I work out!"

The Wizard and the Paladin.

On a scale of one to ten, this was not the worse day I had ever had. Sure, my surroundings looked like the backdrop from Escape from New York. Sure, there were monsters that looked like they were straight out of the Nevernever, among other creatures. And yes, it was true that I was currently fighting a genuine king of Hell, who looked like Boris Karloff's Mummy on fire.

But Yang was out there and while I knew she could take care of herself, there's something about a lady in probable distress that makes me work harder. Besides, she was a friend. Friends don't leave friends in war zones and so I had left the group and began tracking her down. Which brings me to now.

My hand thrusted out, blood blinding my left eye from a close call as I snapped.

"FORZARE!"

Like the previous times, it did nothing as my opponent merely side stepped at the last second.

At the beginning, I managed to get the drop on him after encountering the aftermath of his attack. A group of folk, survivors like me killed for the food and water they collected by this man. Or so I thought. I had blasted him in the back, angered with the force of the Winter Mantle behind it. It did nothing permanent, at which point the fight began in earnest.

Hellfire warped from his blade, terrifying in its implications. The longer we fought, the more it felt like he could see right through me. It was akin to facing off against Nicodemus and I shuddered to imagine what he might have been in life.

My shield came up as an explosion tore upon it, forcing me back as I leaned on the staff and stared at him.

The demon smiled back.

"I can't ever remember having this much fun before. Not since the fires of the Bakumstsu, the death rattle of the Tokugawa Shogunate."

Great. I was a GED student, but I knew my history. This demon had a long career it seems and tired as I was, I gathered power to myself as I retorted.

"If this is a prelude to a talk about the good ol'days, I'll pass."

The demon walked and the fire around us responded to him. His eyes glowed with madness, the heat radiating off him as he raised his sword to what I had come to know as his attack position. I tensed and prepared myself as the creature chortled.

"You'll excuse me I'm sure. Hell had no more distractions for me after my death. Nothing to erase the tedium. Now? Here in the heart of death, where the strong live and the weak perish? Here, I'm exactly where I belong."

I scowled. The face was new, but the words were old. I heard them all before. The law of the jungle, eat or be eaten- the words in my first major case that had dictated the warlock responsible for the Three-Eye drug. Long ago, I had vowed to set myself otherwise. I don't want to live in a world where the strong rule and the weak cower. I'd rather make a place where things are a little quieter. Where trolls stay the hell under their bridges and where elves don't come swooping out to snatch children from their cradles. Where vampires respect the limits, and where the faeries mind their p's and q's as I once decided. Where did this Mummy ripoff get off, spitting in the face of that memory?

To me?!

My breath came out in a cloud of steam, ice forming beneath me. The demon paused, one eyebrow raised with polite interest. If fire was my foe, I was going to meet it with ice. The Winter Mantle in all its predatory glory, to erase this creature before me. Conjure my name at your own risk and pray you have mercy to those under my protection.

For I will show none in the face of none.

I launched at him and fire answered my coming.

And then a flash of green light took him away as my ice-coated fist tore through where he would have been. Anger would have been my first emotion, till I noticed the horizon.

....That was a lot of fire.

I immediately beat feet.

------

The smell of fresh blood lured the Paladin in his hunt. Enough to divert his search patterns as he flew down the rubble-strewn street.

What he saw staggered him. A wizard and a demon, in the ruins of this place. Was that what this was? No, it wouldn't be- he must not forget the stranger ones in this place. These two were much like him undoubtedly, save on opposite ends of the moralistic spectrum. He prepared himself to fight, tensed to swoop in and transform.

The sudden Teleportation and subsequent carpet bombing put that on hold. Lucifer was too late to save the victims or help the wizard. But he could at least help him now. As it was, he thought he recognized this place.

He dropped his crow form to assume his usual one. A priest in the black coat of Iscariot and the eyes of a monster, as he gestured.

"This way! I know a hiding place!"

"WHAT THE SHIT?!"

The cry would be loud enough for those familiar to hear, as the wizard and Paladin booked it to the crushed Bank on this street.

And the protective vault within it.

"Wait a minute... Where did Cal go?!" Hector exclaimed as a bright neon green flash occured in his ship and caused him and Redline to disappear from sight. Another teleport had occured and seemingly took some people out of the world, which was not a good sign as no-one was there to pilot the ship!

Meanwhile . . .

Tyber and Urai were busy evacuating when they fell down a hole in the ground and was briefly knocked out. When they came to, they discovered that a ship was parked underneath, and it was perfectly in mint condition. And what was even more strange was that it was a Mandalorian Model ship that they had used in the Zann Consortium. It had even been coloured appropriately to match the newer design.

"It would seem that there is a Interceptor IV Frigate parked here, Tyber." "Indeed, Urai. But what is most peculiar about it is that it matches our flags. See the colour palette? It matches our Consortium Yellow." "Are we to take it?" "Of course we're going to take it. It's bearing our design after all, it's not like we're stealing it again. Luckily I used to fly one of these as my flag-ship before recent events, so I shall man the helm." And so they boarded the Interceptor and took off, destroying part of the ground in the process with minor damage to the hull.

Back at Cal's Ship or where it used to be . . .

"Wait a minute. Why are we floating?" Undyne exclaimed as everyone that was on board his ship began to fall due to there not being a ship there. Hector, Undyne and Corrin would be falling at incredible speeds towards the ground, or so they thought. Tyber's Interceptor had taken off in their general direction, and saw a group of people falling in the sky. "Tyber, what are your actions? We could leave them be and let them fall to their fate?" "And waste this opportunity to gain some new allies? I'm willing to take the risk, I'm going to rescue them. Besides, they could be of use to us." He exclaimed as he piloted the Interceptor towards them and opened a hatch at the top. Hector spotted a incoming "ship" towards them and looked towards Corrin and Undyne.

latest

"There's another "Ship" approaching, and it's heading right for us! Wait a minute... It's opening something at the top? Let's aim for that! They seem to be rescuing us!" Hector exclaimed as loudly as possible as he attempted to move himself towards Corrin, aiming to grab her. "Corrin, I need you to hold onto me very tightly okay? If we are to fall into that ship, I don't want you taking a large strike to your body. I'm highly armoured so I'll take the brunt of the force."

@Hahli Nuva

Corrin blushed a bit but gave the knight a short nod and tried to make her way over to him. With her Dragonstone broken, she couldn't change into her other half by her own will. Now, her transformations would usually be linked to extreme emotions, like anger, or fear. Hector had a good point. Her armor was not as heavy as his was. Hers was made to allow her to be light and swift on the battlefield.

She blushed deeper when she finally reached her new friend, encircling her arms around his chest and holding on to him from behind.

"Be careful! Don't try anything stupid!" she shouted.

"I never do anything stupid. Most of the time. Hang on tight!" Hector exclaimed as he grabbed ahold of Corrin and braced himself for impact as both them and Undyne successfully landed inside of the hatch of the Interceptor IV. Once they had successfully landed, Hector let go of Corrin and got back up to discover one humanoid creature looking towards them. His appearance was mostly green robes with two blades on his wrists.

270

"Took you a while to reach that hatch. Are all of you safe and sound?" "As good as ever. I've taken similar concussions before but not when falling. Most of the time it's due to someone lodging their Axe into my armour." Hector exclaimed as he dusted himself off. "I haven't had that kind of experience before, falling from one of those ship things. Seeing them on a screen is much different than actually experiencing it haha!" Undyne exclaimed with a chuckle as she finally came to and stood up. "How are you then? Are you up to speed?" He asked, looking towards Corrin.

@Hahli Nuva

Mundi kept up as BJ ran off scuffing the dirt behind it in a path through the broken grocery store its placid cheer never abated, "Nice to meet you Mister Блазкович! We should all leave immediately there are indications of full firebombing in effect! Are you missing someone?"

Wheel legs slid in behind him at an angle then past him into the aisle as a sparking nanofabricator started consuming canned food off of the collapsed shelving to reduce its weight and open a view. The shelf backing tore away as the nanofabricator formed a small metal box from it shaping metal screw-top fluid containers from shattered and intact food cans. Particulate matter from the fluids compressed with 'food' therein to form dried out cubes. The resulting fluid it would have to purify later as it wasn't likely potable. After a moment it tossed the cubes it determined were compromised food, most of them unfortunately, and scanned the man it saw there through the new hole.

Battle first aid protocols made a vocal assessment as Mundi activated it though the program renders a rapid banal metallic, "Patient alive in poor condition. Unconscious with weak pulse. Several mild contusions, evidence of recent concussion, multiple bullet wound scars, proximal puncture of the upper bicep tamponaded by shrapnel, negligible hip fracture, moderate blood loss. Suggest delivery to UNSC medical facilities for evaluation and transfusion."

Mundi's voice was more optimistic as it backed out of the aisle with its bucket of small bottles and food cubes, "Sorry nurse program, there are no such buildings here! I must make a cart please extract injured personnel so we can leave!"

The harness were intentionally built with simple materials, of silicate crystals and base metals, and Mundi fabricated two easily from shelving, tin, concrete, and floor. Their large size and unusual construction a central result of that. One sported an embossed canned goods logo as hurried construction did not allow much time for cosmetic refinement.

Mundi's agile hands pressed the two packages into BJ's pockets before leaving, "Please apply communications and monitoring equipment to the base of the skull. Short term temporal disturbances may arise during the scanning process."

It whirred off down closer into the building past Xiao then lept through the hole parkouring at speed around Norman to shoot into its room. Loud sizzling is heard as mundi breaks down its shelving and extracts refrigerant from the furnace. The cart forming was roughly its own size with chainmail wheels made of its limited nickel-titanium supplies from local wrecks. A few plastic bottles of water were put in along with cubes of metal and food, thermoplastic, its bag of chemical fertilizer, the half-finished nitric acid vessel, and some bottles of low purity nitric acid. Each fused down with straps of thermoplastic. It applied the metal top and fused that down to keep everything in.

Mundi considered putting the cordite in its cart before Negative Twelfth replied tersely to it from the other room,
"No. Just no. Fire and cordite are bad, Pet."

Corrin rose to her feet, setting her gaze on the newcomer. He seemed to be the owner of the ship. She would need to talk with him later, but for now they had to escape first.

"I'm fine... We need to get moving. Fly us as far away from here as you can!"

"That was the plan at any rate. Don't think however that we'll be taking orders from you, despite your appearances." Another man exclaimed as there was someone on the cockpit piloting the ship as they were taking off away from the city. After a hours worth of travel, they stopped the ship at enough height to avoid the bomber craft. "Activating stealth." He exclaimed as he pressed a button on the cockpit. All standard issue Zann Consortium Ships came with a cloaking generator installed, as they used that to sneak past Imperial and Rebel fleets. Putting the ship on hold for now, the man exited the cockpit and greeted the group.

"You may not know who I am, as we are all from different Universes from what I gathered during my time here. My partner here has also gathered interesting information as well. I am Tyber Zann and this is Urai Fen. We're apart of my crime organisation back home known as the Zann Consortium, specialising in Corruption and Bribery to get what we want, and we aren't afraid to show lethal force when needed, however we aren't necessarily evil. We've also done quite a bit to aid the Rebellion against the Empire that's dominating the Galaxy via trade and sometimes extra money. Now, this ship will be a staging ground for surviving in this world. Inside the Cargo section is plenty of fresh food, drinks and there's even a sleeping section for the ship's occupants."

"I dot know this master of yours but if you say so..." She looked over to the Norman person that was pointed out then suddenly looked towards the rock face. She felt footsteps come towards the wall and soon enough there was a voice. Feeling that hellish hum that drowned out her senses once again. Walking over to the robot she knocked on its metal shell while shuddering at just how unnatural it felt. "Hey cut that out your digging at my wall is really getting annoying." She said and just watched the thing run off as it never noticed her.

Corrin crossed her arms under her chest and fixed Tyber with a look. She clearly didn't trust him or his friend, but they didn't really have a choice right now. She didn't want to 'rock the boat' so to speak, and so elected to huff softly and turn to Hector and the others. Before she could open her mouth, a low grumble filled the ship, and Corrin turned beet red before averting her gaze to the floor and her stomach.

Hector immediately heard the stomach of Corrin and overlapped it with his own. Despite eating the monster food back at the camp, he still wasn't filled up. From one of the side doors of the ship, a machine appeared and greeted the group.

"I couldn't help but overhear that your stomachs were growling. If you would follow me, I shall escort you to the Cargo bay where a supply of food can be found there." It exclaimed as it moved slightly forward to reveal that the door it came from had the words "CARGO BAY" above it. "Ah, I see that one of the protocol droids were activated along with the ship when I found it. Good. If any of you are hungry, follow the droid. It shall escort you to the Cargo bay. Meanwhile, the ship had detected a group of people nearby and I shall fly towards them. Ship might get a bit rickety so I'd advise moving carefully."

Unknown World
Several Hours Later . . . . .
Vert and IF

It has been several hours since their last engagement. They had continued to fly away from the fiery blaze until it had died down due to how many buildings were in it's path. They had finally stopped fly and landed on a nearby building roof, dropping off IF and both of turned back to discover that all the buildings behind them were all smothered in flames.

JJkQ2ez.png
F0gMQ7f.png

"Who or Whatever is behind those bombing runs seem to want this city destroyed. Or at least bathed in flames, I've yet to see any kind of paratroopers or any sort of incoming forces." "I was doing some information digging and found out that those bomber craft were similar to the modern era strike craft. Remember those Nep of Duty games that kept on coming out?" "I do remember those. Neptivion kept on making those despite the backlash and dislikes from their fans. Their latest one wasn't exactly as great as the ones prior however." "Do you think the team of four we met are doing alright? I feel bad for us having to abandon them." "I'm sure they are perfectly fine. They are quite organised, and they seemed to know their way around. I'm sure they are fine. I would of picked them up but I only have the strength really to carry one person. We'll just have to keep moving and see if we can run into anybody."

Corrin nodded and followed the robot. She had never seen a metal man before, but her stomach was killing her and if she didn't get food soon she was going to go nuts. For now, she chose to remain silent until she got some food to regain her energy.

After a few minutes of walking, the droid had escorted Corrin and Hector to the Cargo Bay. It was a small one considering the size of the Frigate, it was adapted to serve as the ship's central storage as well as various crates carrying goods, spices and sometimes even creatures. The Droid grabbed one of the crates and opened it up to reveal a whole box of Nerf Pies, made from the Nerf Creatures.

153

"These pies are a delicacy back on Ryloth, and Tyber simply had to gather a large crate of them. Do tuck in and enjoy. I'll be heading back to Tyber in the cockpit." And so the Droid walked out of the Cargo Bay, leaving Hector there with Corrin to tuck into the food. At first glance, it looked like regular pie. Once Hector took a bite of one of them, he smiled with delight.

latest

"Mhmm! This pie is delicious! You should definitely bite one. These Nerf Pies are yummy!" He exclaimed, as he began to grab numerous amounts of pies and began eating them one by one. They were relatively small in size but large in filling and deliciousness.

@Hahli Nuva

Okay, things seemed to be going slightly downhill, and people were getting distracted. Turning towards the not-Jedi, Norman speaks. "You, put the harness on the back of your head. It will allow you to talk with this sort of... hologram, or ghost or whatever works for you. An image of someone not there. He's related to Mundi somehow." He commands, keeping his voice purposefully calm as he glances towards the Droid in question. "And Mundi, don't break down anything the building may rely on."

Now onto the harder part. The man was obviously starting to panic, something he had only seen in rookies. Norman... wasn't too sure what to do, but to leave him to descend would just be inviting trouble. So he made his way over and grabbed the man's shoulder, forcefully making him look at Norman. "Hey!" He says, only slightly distorted as it emerged from his speakers. “Pull yourself together. There will be time for this after we make sure we’re safe. We need to move.”

It wasn’t the best, but it’s all he had at the moment.

@Hahli Nuva

Corrin tore into the pies with animalistic ferocity one might not expect from a woman of her stature. The Queen of Valla scarfed down pies like Hector did in an attempt to sate her hunger. Luckily, she remembered some form of manners, as once she got to her tenth pie she blushed and wiped the crumbs from her face, beet red from embarassment.

"Forgive me... I seem to have forgotten my manners..."

To be fair, the pies were really good.

"Relax. There's no one watching us. You're alright." Hector exclaimed, laughing as he continued gulping down Pie Slice after Pie Slice. Fighting numerous monsters and doing heavy lifting for three days straight without stop can make someone very hungry. However as soon as he said that, Tyber spoke to them via the ship's speakers. "I'm lowering down the ship. The sensors on the ship discovered two people on a nearby rooftop. We'll be picking them up via the Cargo Bay doors, so whoever went with the droid in there will have first introductions." Tyber exclaimed as he began lowering the ship towards the rooftop he mentioned.

4S6qZLo.png
JJkQ2ez.png

"Lady Vert, do you see that?" IF asked as she pointed upwards. A ship was lowering towards them and pointing away. "It would seem that a ship is lowering towards us. Hmm... I don't recognise that ship from any of my console games. And it appears to be picking us up. I shall do the honours of introducing us to whoever is gracing us with their aid. Downgrade." Green Heart exclaimed as she downgraded back down to normal form.

Pohslai.png

"Ah, I must of ran out of energy. No matter, if I introduced myself this way, It might provide a more friendly environment." Vert exclaimed.

"Cargo bay doors opening. Prepare for entrants." A voice exclaimed as the ship had successfully lowered enough to land opposite of the building Vert and IF were on, and the Cargo Bay doors began to drop towards them slowly. "Looks like the doors are opening. Shall we greet our new companions?" Hector asked, giving Corrin a smile as he stood up.

@Hahli Nuva

Corrin nodded a bit as she ate three pies. She was now full enough to warrant actual emotions save for borderline hunger. Just who were these new comers? Could they be of help to whatever attacked them? There was no harm in finding out, Corrin thought. She silently followed Hector, allowing him to lead for now.

@Raynar Saassin

The Cargo bay doors fully opened now and revealed the silhouettes of two girls, one that is somewhat short and one that is quite tall in size comparisons. As they walked towards the two, Hector raised his axe and kept his guard up, but after fully revealing themselves, he lowered his weapon and planted it back onto his back. The tall one walked forward and introduced herself and her companion.

nqNA1Bh.png

"Greetings. My name is Lady Green Heart, but you can call me Vert. Behind me is a close companion of mine, IF." She then eyed up the female of the two that greeted them, and in particular, looked at her chest. From her own observation, she could see that Corrin's chest was Double D's, whereas Vert was an F when she wasn't in her HDD form. This observation caused her to bounce her chest mockingly.

EE8EB059A0F3B289305F8D387D7AA09CA3894EE5

"Hmhm~ Seems that once again I possess the superior bust. Like that last group of women that I had encountered in this Universe, they had the similar size to you~ After all, breasts are the indicators of a true goddess." She exclaimed in a cocky manner, clearly boasting. Hector just remained speechless and walked over to IF who stayed behind when the doors were closing. It was just Corrin and Vert as IF and Hector kept their distance if that was the opening Vert went with.

@Hahli Nuva

Corrin smirked, breifly looking at Vert's oversized bosom. It was rather large, but sheer size wasn't everything. Showing no signs of fear or submission, Corrin looked Vert right in her eyes with an equally cocky smirk. If she wanted to make it personal, then Corrin was all too happy to oblige.

"You call those oversized boulders breasts? Please. I'm suprised you can even stand up straight."

@Raynar Saassin

Pohslai.png

"Hmhm. If I had the energy to transform, I'd show you an upgraded stature but sadly I lost quite a bit of energy transporting IF over there away from that fiery blaze of fire from those bombers earlier." Vert stated, planting a finger on her chin as she dismissed Corrin's attempt at a comeback. "But I assure you I am perfectly capable of standing straight with my bust, although I will admit that on occasion, my shoulders do ache but I receive loving massages from my Oracle back home." She then found a crate and sat on it, again bouncing her chest mockingly.

EE8EB059A0F3B289305F8D387D7AA09CA3894EE5

"But, coming from someone with a smaller chest, it's understandable if you're... jealous~ Not many are blessed with such excellent assets like mine."
