As if snapped out of a trance, the sailor's eyes darted away from the list and over toward Dagran, a hint of madness in his eyes. He looked back at the list briefly, his eyes narrowing. "This is the crew manifest from The Terror," he said in a tone of utter disdain. His voice suddenly rose as he thought about it more deeply. "They cut my line and watched me get swallowed by a monster. Nobody threw me a line!" he exclaimed, crumpling the paper with shaky hands. "I still remember the day I died. They were there," he declared, pointing at Hela and Sinestro. "They're next on the list." Heavily implying that he kills those on the list, Pyke did not seem any more sane after saying all this. It was clear that it was taking a lot of willpower to not snap. "You understand, right?"​

Dagran's brow furrowed, as he stared at Pyke, before glancing back down at the list briefly before it was crumpled. He didn't see any names he recognized, nd whatever illusion Pyke saw was one for concern, to a degree. Gaze returning to Pyke, free of judgement yet had veiled interest he gave a thoughtful nod after a moment.

"I believe I just might, Pyke." He answered. It didn't necessarily take a genius to understand that at least something about Pyke being so lustful for revenge had caused him to be a bit looney. Dagran would keep the list in mind and tread carefully in this alliance. Hopefully, he could use Pyke as an example so he wouldn't let revenge pull him towards the deep end. He could at least keep Pyke from attacking any of the others for now anyway.

Didn't know you were capable of processing thoughts, Candi thought, grinding her teeth before paying attention to what Ashe had said. "Something triggered by an action, huh? Well, bub, you're gonna need someone crazy - someone who would do the undoable to most. Someone who is there to perform an action for the greater good. Someone who is really hyper, like they had waaay too much candy." She pointed her thumb to her chest. "I was born for this! Now, what do you think might've triggered it? Maybe I should kick the corpse to see what'll happen?"

"Hmm... I don't think kicking the corpse will help. Besides that'd be disrespecting the dead and by the looks of it that soldier must've already suffered greatly..." Ashe speaks towards Candi as he continued to think about it. Then it seemed like something seemed to click within his mind. Weren't there a set of keys...? What if perhaps those keys opened this crate..?

"I would suspect that perhaps those keys may open the crates. As for the light... It's over the door so perhaps it symbolizes that the door may in fact have unlocked now...." Ashe spoke up suggesting this as he thought about it. At least to him it seemed to make since that it might be the case all things considered but given how strange this place was to begin with he couldn't really be sure. Of course there's also the possibility that he was wrong which he understood given the unknown variables of this new location. For starters why was there a body here...? What purpose did it serve beyond showing a rather gruesome scene and up the ladder...what did it hold...? Perhaps it in fact held the way out and the door is a red herring..

"It's also entirely possible that the light itself is a red herring meant to mislead us as whoever set this up enjoys our confusion..." Ashe spoke once again trying to cover for all possible scenarios in case something goes wrong. After all the last thing he wanted was for someone to get hurt because he made a mistake.

It seems we have a scaffolding, the door and the crates and this overseer wants us to figure something out. I'm sure of that."

"That's pretty smart! Say, would you consider stretching hair powers? I know I said I didn't have any earlier, but I'm not sure if unlimited extensions count. Whatevs. I'ma find us a key and help us move on forward!" And that could help certify my position as a valuable asset to Candi's Colorful Cadets!...okay, still needs some work. Candi shook her head. "Anyway, I'll be hopping - well, more like gripping - onto that ladder over there. See ya!"

Running to the ladder, Candi jumped up, and her hair extended into two long braids. They shot upwards and gripped the ladder, pulling her up. For some reason, they felt weaker - she wouldn't be able to use them as weapons - but they were good for climbing. It wasn't long before she'd reached where Sera, the optimistic-looking girl, was climbing. "Hey, bub! Did you say that we were an alliance? If so, you might be one of my favorite people in the history of ever."​

 

[Crow]

"Hey now, she let us in here. What'd be the point of that if Miss Disembodied Voice didn't want us to find what's in here? I don't think we're gonna find anything like that at all. We're still just dancing in the palm of her hand. If we escape, it's because the game lets us."

Sera continued speaking cheerfully despite her words, having basically ignored the small falling out of their unstable alliance.

"Don't mind if I do!"

Suddenly clinging to the ladder, Sera began to climb up it without much visible concern. Whether she was simply bored and wanted something to do or seriously wanted to help might have been difficult to discern, but in the end the result was the same. She was probably among the smallest of the group, so anything structurally unsound would be least likely to break while she was on it.

"Let's see what's up here...don't let me fall down there, though!"

She looked down at Megatron for a moment, grinning widely as she spoke, before moving to fully scale the ladder.

Megatron could still transform into his vehicle mode, though it was not very useful within this space.

When the tarp was moved to reveal what had fallen, it turned out to be a dead human body. An intense, sickening smell overcame the room. Isa gagged and coughed, unable to respond to Larxene for the moment. The body was dressed in the attire of a soldier and his face was red and bloated. On his belt was a single pistol and a ring of keys with two separate keys.

Isa continued to cough, though whether it was due to the smell or Larxene putting his arm around him was unclear. "Who--?" He grimaced and pulled away from her, finding himself annoyed with her for a reason beyond her just being touchy. He exchanged glances between Larxene and the dead body, his mind unable to comprehend exactly what was happening. Isa had never seen such a thing before... or at least, so he believed. "... Doesn't look like it'll be long for any of us," he said to Larxene.

As for the tarp, it was tough and sturdy, evidently strong enough to hold at least a single adult male in suspension. With the tarps down, the two storage crates could be opened from the front.

The ladder and scaffolding creaked loudly once Sera started climbing up. It was a long way up, too big for anyone to get up to without the ladder. It didn't seem at risk of falling, at least for the moment.

Suddenly, a light above the closed door between the storage crates turned green.

"From the way you speak, Dhaos, I get the impression that your strong opinion on betrayal comes from experience." Akande noticed the arrival of Izuru and Candi and raised an eyebrow. Complete opposites, those two were.

"If you could check to see if a keyhole is on that door, that would be a big help." Oh-that reminded him. Putting his hand to the side of his mouth, Akande called up to the girl on the ladder. "Hello up there! Let us know if you see any keyholes on that scaffolding!"

"Hello down there!" Sera exclaimed with a smile, momentarily taking a hand off the ladder to wave down to Akande. "I'll let you know if I find anything. We're an alliance after all, right?"

Unperturbed by the creaking of the ladder and scaffolding, the girl continued climbing her way up the ladder. As though on some sort of scavenger hunt, she simply began looking around for a keyhole as requested, or just about anything else she might find at the top.

That was all Megatron said as he continued to support the creaky ladder.​

Cinder would not be able to gather any fire. Her powers were completely drained.

The pistol contained six bullets, as evident by the clip of ammo it contained. The keys also looked rather rustic as they were old lever-type keys. The man himself did not have any external wounds to indicate he had died via a murder. It was undiscernable if the man had died from some kind of poison or if it had been a deadly pathogen. "Don't go near him!" Isa blurted out, his eyes going wide. He looked around for a moment but, after a moment, was embarrassed over his outburst. "... He looks sick."

The door with a green light above it had no sort of spot on or around it to place a key. It was a large metal door that pulled up like a garage door, but it seemed stuck in place for the moment.

The ladder did not break or rumble further until Sera reached the top. From there, the metal scaffolding moved in a circle around the wall to a door all the way across from the ladder. This door was locked and looked like it required a key. The scaffolding held strong, at least with only Sera's weight. The structure did shake when Candi started to climb up as well, though it still seemed to be holding.

As for the crates, they opened just fine without any key.

The feeling of the gun against his hand felt nice. It was weird to think about, but even though Will himself had a gun before getting here, he had never held. The last time he has felt a gun against his hand wasn't his own memory. It was the RK800-60 memories that showed that. He didn't mind the gun and made sure to not pull the trigger as he held it close. " Do either of you two need a key up there? It's NOT needed on the crates," Will shouted to the girls up above. Will also tried to open the crate.

So the containers didn't require key and that door didn't look it it'd be moving anytime soon. Also Isa did have a point when he looked at the body again from afar. So that led to the question of what the keys were used for.

Candi grabbed it with her white-and-blue braid, then too one of the braids holding onto the ladder off so that the new braid could throw the key to it. Then, the braid that now had the key extended, causing Candi to grunt, but allowing it to reach Sera. "You should probably take this.... damn. They sure fucked up my powers - I could make twelve of these things with ease, and now it fucking hurts." Candi grunted. "Please take this as soon as possible. Then we can continue our delightful discussion of you being a great person."

Hela watched all of this play out with folded arms. She hoped nothing bad happened to those young ones... She'd hate that. If there was one kind of person she didn't kill, it was children and teens.

Some might have disagreed on that last bit, but at least she seemed overall friendly enough. Upon noticing the door and its keyhole, she called down to Akande.

"We found one! Though I don't think anyone else should come up here or we're gonna come tumbling down to our doom. It's barely holding us two girls up!"

After giving her report to the large man, she followed up on Candi's hair catch as if it were the most natural thing in the world. While looking down and calling to Akande, it was inevitable she'd see what was going on with the key after all. Taking the key in her hand, she began to move to test the key out on the door.

"Looks like we really do make good allies!" Sera replied to Candi with a wink.

The key opened the scaffolding door easily, allowing Sera and Candi access to a dark hallway beyond. From an initial glance, it looked to be in the same condition as the rest of the facility. The scaffolding still held strong.

Opening the left crate revealed a horrifying mass of strange, noxious material. It appeared as if the crate had contained something else at some point, but had been overtaken by a red, splotchy disease. It did not look dissimilar to the sickness afflicting the dead man.

As for the right crate, this one revealed something more useful: cloth and metal material. Most of the metal seemed to be refuse, being composed of short rebar that had been cut down.
