Pokemon: Journeys of Anteceon Lake Anteceon

Sera seeing the Staryu begin reach for her frosting tube, held it away from the pokemon. She wondered if it was angry at her or something, but it seemed more interested and excited then anything else. She looked at her tube then at the Staryu and took a leap of faith. She quickly made a flower pattern on the Staryu's gem and waited to see the Staryu's responce.

A Wild Staryu has Appeared

Lvl 2

Action: The Staryu was encompassed by the bright light. It also looked like it was doing a small pose before it was drawn into the crystal.

Congratulations, you have successfully bonded with Staryu!

Please update your team.

With the Staryu captured, she tended to herself. She looked at her dress and saw that it was covered in dirt and mud. She puffed her cheeks in annoyance, before continuing on her way. Now she needed to get to the center as she very well can't travel with a dirty dress now can she?

Wind blew across the blue waters of the lake, light from the slowly sinking sun dancing on the ripples. Seo-Yeon hadn't needed to walk far to find this place, thankfully. She knew she wouldn't be able to make it to the next town before the sun went down. Regardless of the fact her new partner was capable of being a source a light, Seo-Yeon didn't feel comfortable traveling in the dead of night. Camping out, sure, but not traveling. So she would explore the lake area today, and sleep back in Cloudberry when night came.

Pyrrhus walked by her side, keeping an eye on the environment. Wandering down to the lakeside, the trainer crouched and dipped her fingers in the water. Not too cold, but she wasn't looking to swim. She looked back to see her Chimchar keeping a careful distance from the shore.

"Not a big fan, huh?"

Pyrrhus gave an almost exasperated huff.

"Well, we need to get to know each other better," Seo-Yeon continued, "And I've found the best way to know someone is to have little adventures."

The fire chimp was still wary of the lake, but he did settle down closer to her. She scooted back to where he was, content to watch the sky.

"I can wait 'til you're comfortable."

A Wild Wooper has appeared!

Lvl: 3

Action: The wooper stayed in the water, close to the shore, but it was able to catch a perfectly good look at the pink haired trainer and her flame tailed companion. Seeing the perfect opportunity to make mischief, the wooper began using water gun on the two, not to damage, but to specifically to annoy.

A shriek left both trainer and partner as they were partially soaked. Seo-Yeon was shocked but still had enough sense to look for the cause. Her eyes immediately caught the little Wooper by the shore.

Pyrrhus seemed to have noticed him as well, jumping up and making a racket as he screeched at the little blue pokemon. Even though she was feeling a bit upset herself, she turned to her partner and touched his shoulder.

"Hey, hey, he was just playing. It didn't even hurt, right?" Things like this had happened before, when she followed her father into the fairy woodlands. Some pokemon were just pranksters.

Pyrrhus didn't seem to accept this fact, and was now glaring the little water pokemon down. Seo-Yeon sighed.

"It seems he's still upset about getting wet. Up for a friendly competition?"

A wild Wooper has Appeared

Lvl: 3

Action: Seeing the Chimchar act out amused the Wooper as the pokemon ducked back into the water, but only for a second, as it quickly jumps out, then splashes back down, creating a small wave of water in an attempt to get a rise of the two.

By this time, Seo-Yeon was ready. She jumped back when the wave came and avoided getting her shoes and socks wet. Pyrrhus, however, stood his ground. His hands came together, flame brightening, before he shoved them forward. Red aura created a barrier in front of him, the wave splashing against it harmlessly.

It flickered out soon after, but Seo-Yeon was impressed. She felt heat stir in her heart.

"Looks like we've got tricks of our own!" she cheered. "Nice job Pyrrhus!"

The Chimchar grunted in response, eyes practically glowing in delight.

"It's our turn." The pink-haired trainer was clenching all her muscles and staring determinedly at the Wooper. "Show me what you've got Pyrrhus. Stay quick on your feet."

After a quick nod, the fire chimp dashed forward, ready to properly engage the little water pokemon.

A wild Wooper has Appeared!

Lvl:3

Action: Seeing that its playmates were eager, the Wooper decided to up its attacks. It used Mud Bomb directly at the trainer and her Chimchar's feet, trying to get them to dance around.

An undignified yelp slipped out as Seo-Yeon dodged another attack. Not mud! That was way worse than getting wet! Pyrrhus was fairing better, since he had been prepared for an attack, but being closer to the mud bomb's impact, he had to leap much father to avoid it.

The momentum from the landing was whipped back into a forward motion when Pyrrhus used his longer arms to propel him feet first at the Wooper.

Lvl: 3

Action: Seeing the Chimchar attack the Wooper, the Pokemon ducked into the water and swim away from the Chimchar's landing site.

Pyrrhus landed in some shallow water, screeching.

"You're okay," Seo-Yeon assured, hand partially covering her grin. "You've got the speed advantage. Catch him before he gets away!"

Still grumping, the Chimchar dashed after the fleeing prankster and attempted to smack him back on to land.

Action: While the Chimchar had speed, the Wooper had the home advantage as it swam around the shallows with ease, as its fiery foe attempts to catch it. However the pokemon still wished to play some more, and whenever it got the chance, it swam behind the Chimchar and spat a quick burst of water before diving back into the shallows.

Seo-Yeon was slowly growing anxious. Her partner was getting more and more annoyed with the little squirt each time he failed to block a water gun. His attempts to pin down the water pokemon were proving futile. After one more howl of outrage from Pyrrhus, the new trainer started forward.

She stepped into the shallows, not minding her wet shoes and socks now. "Hey, Pyrrhus."

The Chimchar whipped around, still seething.

"It's okay." She purposefully moved to block another splash from reaching her partner. "We're just playing. But..." She bit her lip before continuing, voice stronger. "We can leave, right now, if you want to."

The fire pokemon seemed conflicted by the whole thing, but he did stop and look around. His trainer, his partner, was blocking the Wooper from shooting water at him. She was giving him a choice to leave.

After a moment's thought, Pyrrhus shook his head, giving a series of confident hoots.

"Alright." Seo-Yeon smiled. "Then let's do this." She moved aside and faced the water imp. "Pyrrhus! Run towards him, but have your guard at the ready. You'll have to change directions fast."

He gave his own exclamation and sprinted forward again.

Action: The Wooper laughed as the Chimchar once again rushed in without any strategy whatsoever. In retaliation, the Wooper fired off a Mud Bomb directly at the Chimchar, hoping to knock it out of the air.

"Guard now!" Seo-Yeon shouted with glee. As Pyrrhus pulled it up she added, "Angle towards me!"

Her Chimchar shrieked in surprise, but did as she asked. The mud bomb slid across the shield and kept momentum long enough to slap the trainer's legs with mud. She stuck her tongue out, groaning, but kept her main focus on her partner. He had been thrown sideways by the angled blast and now flanked the Wooper.

"Now!" Seo-Yeon had no need to call out, as Pyrrhus had already noticed his advantage. Shield dissipating, the chimp bounded forward for a double kick.
