kILnpYL.jpg
Name:
Leandra Dumir
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Nationality: Orlesian

Synopsis: Marcus' top Captain and former comrade in the Tai'emroth military, Leandra is perhaps even more exacting than Teverin himself. She demands perfection from her troops and has little tolerance for failure. Despite this, she also has a reputation for unwavering loyalty, and has never withdrawn from the field before the last of her soldiers has been accounted for.

Equipment:

  • Sword of Spellbreaking (saps/dispels arcane magic)
  • Shield of the Faithless (magically reinforced, nullifies most divine magic in a small area around itself)
  • Armour of Unyielding (grants freedom from fatigue))

KTK9I84.jpg
Name:
Talyra Aventin
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Nationality: Orlesian

Synopsis: A member of the Reaper's Eye without official rank. Despite this, she seems to hold authority on par with the organisation's captains, usually granted via signed documents direct from the Lord Captain. Talyra is a vicious woman, and the only thing or person she seems to care about more than herself is Marcus. It's unclear whether the two are involved romantically, as they never seem to be together. She's widely known for her talent on assassination jobs.

Equipment:

  • Cloak of Spellturning - reflects arcane, divine, primal and elemental magic back at the caster, or deflects it away from the wearer.
  • Evervenom Sword - a short blade that inflicts a deadly paralysing poison on every strike, even small wounds are fatal within minutes. The sword is also capable of curing the poison at the will of its bonded bearer, Talyra.

SeL8Gzc.jpg
Name:
Laurent Monet (Mon-ay)
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Nationality: Orlesian

Synopsis: Laurent is the man behind the Mage Underground, a movement to aid mages in both escaping the clutches of their Church handlers while within Orlesia, and get them passage out of the country to more liberal lands. A skilled gunman with a silver tongue, Laurent has several years of prior experience as a member of the King's spy network (and as such is a target on their hit-list). Laurent is as a result, of course, not his real name.

gY5B8kK.jpg

Name: Leon Amarante
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Nationality: Orlesian

Synopsis: The only son of the wealthy and influential Amarante family in Orlesia, Leon is a well educated and proper young man - when forced to spend time at court, that is. When he can slip away, he is anything but - putting his fencing lessons into practice in swordplay and toting a pistol, as he aids the Mage Underground smuggling ring. His money and political sway is a great asset to the movement, and without his help far fewer mages would ever escape Carase.

Achaeos

Achaeos is a pleasant kitsune of indeterminate age. He behaves with the free-spirited nature of one young, but possesses an air of wisdom that would be more at home on someone older. Fond of warmth and fire, he often carries with him a traditional-style lantern, through which he can channel his fiery powers with greater ease, by utilising existing flames as opposed to creating them from scratch.

As a kitsune he can take on both human and fox form. In his fox form he has dark-brown/black fur and nine bushy tails, with patterns trailing along his body. In his human form he conceals his tails.

Unlike many kitsune, he does not rely on the souls of humans to sustain him, especially not through sleeping with them. Instead, passively spending time around those of other races with more 'wholesome' souls is enough to sate him and keep him healthy. He is however capable of using his powers to manipulate and drain the souls of other beings if he wishes to, which is seldom, as he considers it taboo.

As well as his lantern, he often carries with him a small white orb, his 'star ball', which contains a portion of his magical power and soul. To be separated with it is to lose much of his sense of self, and he will go to great lengths to be reunited with it..

He is capable of manipulating the minds of most mortals, and is resistant to such powers himself.

Aki hates dogs with a passion, and cannot stand to be around them. He holds similar disdain for wolves, albeit less so. Werewolves and werehounds are not as abhorrent to him, due to their greater sapience and intelligence, but he still does not like them.

Achaeos' past is a mystery he has yet to tell another being. He has flitted from place to place for much of his life, seldom settling down for more than a few years at a time. He has made friends in many places, and enemies in others. He has a strong sense of justice and a desire to leave a trail of good wherever he goes, and will stand up for those who need him.

Nariko
qltdFL3.jpg

Nariko is a young-looking kitsune, but her appearance defies her actual age, which stretches on into history for many centuries. Though whimsical and aloof, there is an air of savviness about her that her cheerful guise veils. She enjoys warmth and particularly fire, though she is not a pyromaniac by any means. She can take both human and fox form, and tends to hide her nature fully in her human form by not displaying her ears. Such a disguise is easy for a kitsune - altering their appearances is a common trait.

She possesses the soul-related powers of the kitsune, including the visualisation and draining of their energy. As well as this, she can manipulate the minds of most mortals and is resistant to attempts on her own mind. In more violent conflicts she relies upon her ability to call forth and manipulate fire and lightning, as well as her katana which possesses the unique quality of being able to slice both in the physical realm and the spirit realm. As a spiritual creature, she is herself also free to cross between these two realms, becoming insubstantial in the other when she does so.

On her person at all times is a small white orb, containing a portion of her magic and soul. Losing it could lead to her losing her entire self, and as a result will go to extremes to protect or reclaim it.

She dislikes dogs, wolves and werewolves and all of canine ilk, as one of the natural enemies of her foxy nature.

Nariko's past is not something she tends to share, but suffice to say it is lengthy and exciting. Her intentions are seldom clear, but her primary interest appears to be in making friends and enjoying life.

Teo
DNVUVob.jpg

Teo is a kind and curious young spirit, relatively new to the world. He is fond of nature and animals, and enjoys befriending other beings outside of his domain. Travelling too far from his lake (more than a few miles) is unpleasant for him and reduces his powers, but he can do it.

He is akin to a naiad, or water nymph/sprite of legend - a water spirit or lesser demigod of water. Like those of mythos, his water can have magical medicinal properties. The more sexual side of water nymphs is however far less prominent in him. He furthermore has elemental control over water, and can take upon a water form bodily. He is immortal, and can only be killed by the corruption of his home.

In the past, naiads and water spirits were believed to be descended from Poseidon or the water titans Oceanus and Tethys. However, genealogy for such ancient, ageless creatures is easily overstated. He is vaguely related to a Water Goddess called Meridia, but he only knows this from conversations with other water spirits/sprites, and has never directly interacted with her. He came to Lake Aranai recently after being forced from his previous home by another water spirit who claimed it for his own, and took up residence there. He is considering adopting its name as his own.

7CSNrt2.jpg
Name:
Teoris (Teo) "Brighteye" Calenor
Age: 116
Gender: Male
Species: Elf (Altari)
Nationality: Amarathian

Synopsis: One of the sons of the noble House Calenor, Teo isn't much interested in the politics of his family. He plays the Game as he needs to (and does it pretty well) but he'd much rather hurry up and get settled somewhere far out of the city where such things are less important, so he can get on with the important things in life - namely gambling, flirting and drinking. His parents blame the significant influence of his former bodyguard Talren for his attitude towards all things political and academic, and they're not wrong. Despite possessing an aptitude for magic, Teo's never cared enough for such studies to excel, preferring to learn swordsmanship and derring-do from his bodyguard. After all, being swish with a sword is more likely to impress the boys and girls than a bunch of magic spells that scream 'neeeeeeeerd'!

To prevent him from embarrassing the House overly in the City, Teo has been sent away to reside in far more moderate luxury in one of the House's frontier holdings, the town of Korvesa. The pay-off of this has been much increased freedom, and so whilst Teo laments the loss of the metropolitan lifestyle of his former home, he's been enjoying his life on the frontier so far. He just wishes there were more new regular new faces. Pretty ones, specifically.

Standard Equipment:

  • Shortsword
  • Dagger
  • Throwing Knives
  • Hand Crossbow

Abilities:

  • Arcane Magic: Teo has a limited repertoire of arcane spells, largely based in minor illusions.

Name:
Amyrea
Age: ???
Gender: Female
Species: Angel/Elysian (terminology varies)

Synopsis: Amyrea is the Herald of Saraea, a Goddess of Light, Sun, Redemption, Healing and Rebirth. Though capable of taking many forms, Amyrea is most often depicted as a young human woman with blazing wings of fire, incandescent like the sun itself, her head silhouetted by a sun-like halo. Amyrea represents Saraea's will incarnate, serving as a messenger to other deities and (very rarely) the mortal realms. On extremely rare occasions, she will assist champions of Saraea's faith or strike against the goddess' enemies on the mortal planes. She leads Saraea's angelic host.

Abilities:

  • Fire - Amyrea is both immune to, and has masterful command of fire of heats approaching that of a star.
  • Light - Amyrea's very presence is like a beacon of daylight, banishing darkness. She can produce light that is as anathema to sunlight-sensitive creatures as the sun itself.
  • Healing/Rebirth - Amyrea can cure even the most serious of ailments and injuries, even restoring life to the dead. Such direct intervention with the ways of fate is not, however, something she will consider in any but the most exceptional circumstances.
  • Imbue - Amyrea can grant power to mortals, empowering them as champions and paladins of Saraea.

JkWVpXX.jpg
Name: Kaiden Lawson
Alias: Verity
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Metahuman

Synopsis:

"The world isn't kind to the ones that can't pay their way through it. Everywhere you go, too much of your worth is made up of how many digits are in your bank balance."

Kai was born into poverty in Van Leugen. His childhood consisted of a daily routine of being screwed over by the authorities, with a side of being threatened by the lackeys of crime lords. His parents were nobodies in a city that didn't give a shit unless your pockets were lined with paper -- or lead.

"The fat-cats sit in their skyscrapers watching the rest of us scurry around like ants at their whim. Democracy's a lie and justice is a fairy tale."

He was only eight when his dad got into a fight with a scar-faced drunk who was harassing his mom, and got a knife in the throat for his trouble. Nine, when his mom

BvXOFY9.jpg
overdosed three nights after they lost their apartment because she couldn't afford it any more. He ended up in government care with all the other kids the rest of the world forgot about.

"I watched the world chew my family up and spit them out dead, and nobody gave a shit. They were just another statistic. A footnote on a report. That's the way it always is."

Inevitably, he turned to crime. Prospects were poor for even a smart kid out of the slums. Smart kids knew they were better off taking their chances with the bad guys that were honest about being bad. Blessed with a photographic memory and an aptitude for technology - his father had fancied himself an inventor in his spare time, and Kai had learned from him - Kai proved to be a useful asset for every minor street gang he ran with.

"I still don't know what happened to me that night. Thought it was an alien at first, but could just as easily have been some magical crap. I try not to look a gift-horse in the mouth."

It was in a back alley that Kai was changed. In the dead of night, a crack in the wall, glowing with unearthly light. A form that flowed and shifted, that looked like an unending matrix of data and energy. It swept over him and enveloped him into itself.

"Felt like my brain exploded. Knowledge poured in out of nowhere. Then my body changed. Never felt pain like that before, and haven't since. I'm hoping it stays that way. It felt like it took me apart and put me back together again. Hell, it might have done for all I know."

When he regained consciousness, he was changed. His skin and hair had paled drastically, and his eyes were bright with the same eerie blue that the form had emitted. That was the least of it.
U9p0BRc.jpg

"It was like ... I was connected. Ever wondered what it'd feel like to be the internet? No? Well, it felt like that. So think about it. It's as weird as it sounds."

Whatever had happened, had left Kai imbued with extraordinary abilities. He was linked into the digital world. Every mobile signal, wi-fi or radio transmission - data and information. He was connected. It took time to figure everything out, but less time than might have been expected. Some part of him took to his new abilities like they'd been there all along.

"How did my brain not implode? Good question. I credit that to whatever it was that gave me this shit. Must still be in there somewhere. Hell if I know what it wanted... or wants. That'll never come back to bite me, I'm sure..."

And with power came... an extreme lack of responsibility. Independence. The ability to 'stick it to the man' in so many words.

"It was one hell of a rampage. I must've cost the city millions with how much tech I sent haywire. Fun shit."

After causing more than his fair share of chaos, Kai decided to dial it down a bit. He'd always hated that the world was unfair. Maybe now he could do something to change things up a bit.

Abilities:

  • Technopathy - Kai can remotely link into technology, using his mind to direct it. From security cameras, to laptops, to robots - he can access and manipulate them with his mind. Most basic security systems aren't a problem for him, but high-end protections are liable to keep him out at least for a while, until he can find a way around them or disable them. This includes weaponry with targeting-assistance and cars with onboard computers. As long as there's a way for something digital to influence it.
  • Digital Form - Kai can convert his body into digital information and transmit himself through means ranging from the internet to a phone line. In this form he can also infiltrate information systems and download data directly into his mind. Measures put in place to prevent viruses and other unknown digital entities accessing a system will block him in this form, though only high-end security systems are liable to delay him for long. The most secure systems represent a brick wall unless he can find a way to backdoor them. He can't brute-force them in the same way he can a basic home firewall.
  • I Am Google - Kai can access the internet from his brain. Makes quizzes really easy.

Equipment/Notable Possessions:
  • Drones - Kaiden owns four advanced military drones. Very illegally. He often uses these drones as 'vehicles' to command in combat, projecting his mind directly to them in order to command them. Their names are Happy, Navi, Sparx and Pan.
  • Self-Driving Car - Kaiden owns a self-driving vehicle that, thanks to its systems, he can take control of remotely.
  • SuperBunker - Kaiden's den is a nest of high powered computer systems with illegal access to a lot of Van Leugen's infrastructure. Traffic cameras, CCTV, timetables, police broadcasts... a lot.

"Anarchy's pretty fun! You should try it sometime."

Full Name:
Mithrana Tabris
Use-Name: Mithra
Age: 22
Species: Half-Elf (Sylvani)
Nationality: Orlesian/Amarathian

Synopsis: Mithra was born just prior to the end of the Blight, and so was just a baby when her parents returned to her mother's family's old home, Orlesia. In the coming years, she was raised in a society that grew steadily more and more humanist, and witnessed prejudices against both her and her father grow alongside the subjugation of the mages.

Her father, having served as a scout in Tai'emroth's military, taught her to use a bow and a sword from a very young age, as well as wilderness survival skills. When he was killed in a street-brawl by racist agitators, Mithra pleaded and demanded that her mother speak up - but whether out of fear of retribution or the inaction of grief, she refused. Disgusted and angry, Mithra chose that day to walk out on her family home and make her own way. She briefly worked with a bandit group, but she was swiftly horrified by their methods, and moved on from them too.

Eventually she began to take work as a mercenary and scout for hire, whether to guard caravans during travel or to hunt down monstrous creatures that were terrorising farmhouses. Her work takes her across the Aeloran midlands, from Orlesia, to Kerador, to Amarathia and the Forest of the Fall and back again. Stoic and at times humourless, Mithra has a reputation for getting the job done, irrespective of what the job is. Armed with her longbow, sword, and a small amount of nature-magic taught to her by her father, she usually finds herself more at home on the road than in any urban settlement.

Magic:

  • Commune With Beasts - Mithra can, with a touch of magic, communicate loosely with animals to convey and receive simple concepts, emotions and images.
  • Fog Cloud - Mithra can conjure a small cloud of fog to provide cover, or blind enemies.
  • Ensnaring Arrow - Mithra can imbue an arrow with magic that calls vines and other plantlife to burst from the ground to entangle a target struck by it.

Notable Equipment:

  • Oathbow - Mithra's father's old bow. Unbeknownst to her, it carries dormant magical properties that she largely has yet to unlock. Its only evident magic is its nigh-on unbreakability, which has yet to be tested.

Name: Cai Yue
Age: ???
Species: Human?
Gender: Female
Nationality: Losenyu

Synopsis: Yue is a prestigious dancer of near unparalleled grace, a celebrity within Losenji famed for the beauty of her performances -- and her deadly skill with the blade. She utilises dance as a form of battle, making it as much an art-form as her routines. Few know very much about the mysterious woman, who seems not to have aged in decades. Her performances are a rarity, and are seldom known about more than a few weeks in advance, as spontaneous as they are beautiful. She travels the world on a regular basis, and seldom stays anywhere for long.

Abilities:

Dance: Yue utilises dance both in the context of performance and battle. Her movements and ki are in sync with the universe's own flow, allowing her to direct it to a certain degree to produce effects that resemble magic - and indeed, perhaps they are a form of it. Just as mages weave mana, Yue weaves the universe's energy. When in battles, foes will find it extremely difficult to strike her as she moves in a continuous flow. Even weapons considered unavoidable, such as bullets, regularly miss their mark even if thought to be aimed perfectly. The energy of the universe in flux around Yue cooperates with her when she moves, to supernaturally place her out of the path of danger. This also enables her to perform great feats of acrobatics, defying gravity and physics in general with her dancing.

Spiritborn: Yue carries a zodiac spirit of the horse, granting her increased speed, stamina and strength, along with farseer, soulsinger, shieldbreaker, realmtreader and webweaver powers.

Name: Nae'shiara
Age: ???
Species: Voidlord - The layman's name given to the most powerful denizens of the void, it's uncertain whether they are truly alike. The exact qualities that voidlords have are equally unknown, as the diversity of their powers and capabilities witnessed during the Void Wars was immense. The few traits observed to be seemingly universal to all of the powerful void denizens include immense resilience to harm, a seeming lack of 'vital organs', and the ability to take on humanoid form. Their natural forms are believed to be similar to those of voidlings and other void creatures - visibly formed of pure darkness, with a vastly variable alien structure.

Synopsis: Nae'shiara was first encountered on the Material Plane at the peak of the war between the nations of Aelora and the invaders from the void. As the Sealed One's power grew, increasingly more powerful void creatures were able to make the crossing from the void to the material plane, and Nae'shiara is believed to have been the most powerful of these entities. Sightings of her remained initially erratic, reports of a beautiful but terrifying woman stalking the fields of battle and slaughtering soldiers in drove accompanied by an increase in the intelligence of the void armies' movements led her to be identified as a commander.

Her reputation grew as the war raged on. She was given the title 'Beloved of the Night' out of rumours that she was the lover of the Sealed One himself, and the 'Hand of the Sealed One' by the way she was seen to command even the most powerful void creatures with absolute authority. Her leadership and power played no small part in casting down the nations of Aelora, and her name was one spoken in hushed and fearful tones for centuries.

When the war lulled as the survivors of Aelora retreated to their defensible strongholds, abandoning their lands to the corruption of the void, she took up a seat in the Celestial city of Aelora: Valmora. From there, she used her magic to command from afar, ensuring no resistance was allowed a chance to grow strong. She waged a campaign against Tai'emroth for many centuries, but the city's concentration of magical defenders made it too dangerous for her to lead from the front. She was content to wait for the right moment - after all, she believed herself to have time on her side.

She was proved wrong by the return of Sylvire Nasazura, along with a group of heroes from beyond the veil. The newborn Elysian Vanguard made contact with Tai'emroth despite her attempts to slay them before they reached it, and subsequently aided them in pushing back a hasty and desperate siege. In the weeks that followed they fought their way to Valmora itself and confronted her. There, Nae'shiara was defeated.

But she did not remain gone long. Her death on the material plane led only to her being returned to the void. There, the Sealed One renewed her and sent her once more into battle - this time leading an assault on the ruins of Amarathia where the Vanguard were attempting a ritual to slay him. She was, however, unable to stop them. The Sealed One was vanquished, and she herself once more banished to the limbo of the void.

She has had years since to regain her strength, however. With the borders between realms weakened, she abruptly found herself able to cross over to the material plane without the aid of the Sealed One. Now she seeks vengeance against the worlds that foiled her in the past.

But she is patient. Should it require millennia for the right moment to come, she will wait.

For what are millennia to the eternal?

Abilities:

  • Void Manipulation: As an incredibly powerful entity from the realm of the Void, Nae'shiara can draw on its power even from the material plane. She can command powerful negative energy to assault her enemies or protect herself, as well as creating constructs from it in the form of voidlings and other, more powerful servants. Void energy is as close to 'nothingness' as a 'something' can get, and has a number of specific applications in that vein.
    • Disintegration - the annihilation of matter on an atomic level, dispersing and banishing it to be swallowed by the void. Most sapient creatures can resist this, but inanimate objects, magic and energy are almost universally susceptible.
    • Void Creation - the creation of a portal to the nothingness of the void, which in turn creates a vortex pulling things towards it.
    • Flight - by the selective negation of forces on herself, and the usage of void energy as propulsion.
    • Void Constructs - the creation of creatures and objects out of void energy. By their nature, these creations are incredibly dangerous to those they come into contact with. Distinct from normal voidlings (which inhabit the void), they corrode matter on contact.
    • Telekinesis - by the selective negation of forces on targets, and the usage of void energy as propulsion.
  • Shapeshifting - Nae'shiara can alter her form at will, though as she remains formed of voidstuff, she does not gain any powers (biological or otherwise) from the forms she adopts, only their appearance and physical traits. This is not limited to actual creatures' forms - her substance is malleable to her will, and she can even alter her mass by drawing on energy from the void.
  • Blindsight - Despite often adopting a human form, Nae'shiara does not use her eyes to see. She instead senses all that is around her in a wide area. She can focus on this sense to scry on specific areas for many miles around.
  • Awakened Mind - Nae'shiara can communicate telepathically, and read the minds of those near her without protection against such effects. She can communicate with other void creatures over thousands of miles, but communication with none-void entities is limited to within around 50ft.
Equipment:
  • Unsealed Sword: An artefact created for Nae'shiara by the Sealed One, this massive golden greatsword is beyond the capacity of even incredibly strong humans to wield effectively. Bound to her and her alone, she can wield it as though it were light as a feather. The sword exudes an aura of nothingness that causes it to slice through almost any substance in much the same manner as her disintegration ability. It is itself nigh on unbreakable. A wound delivered with the Unsealed Sword corrupts the mind of the one struck, turning them into a thrall of its wielder.

Names:
Ravager and Watcher
Ages: ???
Species: Constructs/Revenants (formerly Werewolf and Elf)

Synopsis: The myth of Ravager and Watcher is one told to children in various forms across Valore. It tells of a man and a woman, elven descendants of a benevolent lunar goddess (or a powerful fey spirit, depending on the version of the story) and two of the first-born of their particular branch of the race. They were as beautiful as they were powerful, and between them a magnificent love blossomed.

They lived on Valore for many centuries, until on one fateful eve whilst the woman hunted, the man was woken from his sleep by what sounded like her wounded cries. Seeking to help, he searched for her in the nearby forest and found her collapsed in a clearing. When he went to her side, he discovered she was in tears. She told him that she had seen a vision of him leaving her for another. He swore that he would never allow such a thing to happen, and in his moment of distress, was careless. They lay together in that clearing, and when they were done, he found himself gripped by dark magic.

The woman rose and unmasked herself, revealing that she was in fact the manifestation of the lunar goddess' dark sister, the evil power behind the dark side of the moon. She cursed him with her own brand of lycanthropy for his foolishness, laughing as she despoiled her sisters' creation.

Devastated, the man could not bear to face his beloved, and so he fled. As he crossed the world his mind was slowly taken by the curse of the dark goddess, until there was little left of him but a murderous husk. Eventually, he came to terrorise an icy mountain kingdom far to the north. Unimpeded by the walls they erected and the weapons they turned on him, he fed on their livestock and people every night for many years.

It was only when a mysterious elven woman arrived in the capital of this nation that a glimmer of hope was granted to its people. She presented herself to their Queen and requested that she be granted authority to track and slay the werewolf that plagued her people. Armed with only a bow, the Queen protested that she stood no chance, but the woman refused to be denied. She revealed herself to be the woman who had been his beloved, descendant of the good lunar goddess.

With hunters and soldiers aiding her, she tracked the werewolf to a mountain at the centre of the kingdom. She left the other men and women at the base, and herself made the trek to the top to face him. When she reached the peak, she found him waiting for her in calm silence - a drastic contrast to the berserk rage he had demonstrated since his arrival in the kingdom. He watched her as a wolf might watch a hunter, a mutual understanding between them.

She nocked an arrow to her bow, and he bared his fangs.

She fired, and he leapt.

Some say that the woman slew the beast that was her beloved. Others say that she failed, and the beast haunts the mountains of Valore to this day. Others still tell the tale that they both perished on the peak that day, but they perished together and journeyed to the afterlife with their hearts reconciled.

In some ways, the heartless beings known as Ravager and Watcher mirror the man and woman of myth. In other ways, they could not be more different. Drawn from the afterlife by Krycis' foul magics, there is little to them but the purpose their dark master directs them to. Perhaps one remnant of their former selves is their reliance on one another. Divided, they are far weaker than together.

Abilities/Equipment - Ravager:

  • Strength - Ravager is immensely strong, capable of swinging cars around one-handed and punching through solid stone.
  • Speed - Ravager is gifted with inhuman speed, and the reactions to match. At a dead sprint he can reach speeds of up to around 150kph. Engaging in combat at these speeds however is very challenging, but his reactions and normal speeds remain at incredible levels.
  • Infernal Darksteel - Ravager's armour and clawed gauntlets are constructed of an unholy metal that is nigh on unbreakable, capable of withstanding missile strikes and nuclear detonations unharmed. It is sharp enough to slice through titanium like paper. It does not conduct electricity and protects against both heat and cold, as well as providing improved resilience against magic. It is bonded to his body and cannot be removed.
  • Tough Hide - Ravager's hide is itself strong enough to be immune to many weapons, with arrows and normal swords merely glancing off. Bullets break the skin, but don't pierce more than a few millimetres.
  • Regeneration - Ravager can regenerate incredibly rapidly from physical harm. Even deep wounds heal within seconds, and lost limbs can recover within hours. So long as the magic that animates Ravager remains, he will eventually recover from any injury, even if delivered an instantly fatal blow.
  • Supersenses - Ravager can smell sensitively enough to pick up the scent of a mark from over one-hundred miles away, when they were there a week ago, and hear a butterfly flap its wing from a block away. He can open and close these supersenses at will to avoid being overwhelmed.
  • Unity - Ravager's abilities grow stronger when close to Watcher, and weaker when far from her.
Abilities/Equipment - Watcher:
  • Strength - Watcher, whilst not as strong as Ravager, remains far stronger than the average person. She can lift cars, though can't fling them around like nothing, and perform other similar feats of strength.
  • Speed - Watcher is much faster than Ravager, and capable of sprinting at approaching 300kph. Engaging in combat at these speeds however is very challenging, but her reactions and normal speeds remain at incredible levels.
  • Infernal Darksteel - Watcher's full-body armour, her arrows, and her bow are constructed of the same material as Ravager's armour and gauntlets, with the same properties.
  • Blink - Watcher can teleport short distances of up to around 20m instantaneously.
  • Supersenses - Watcher can see far enough to spot a rabbit from three miles away, provided her line of sight isn't interrupted. By focusing on this vision she can increase its range to upwards of ten miles. She can also see the souls of those not taking pains to hide their spiritual signatures, allowing her to see invisible entities and locate people through solid objects.
  • Bow of the Watcher - Watcher's bow is formed of infernal darksteel, and enchanted to be able to fire an arrow up to three miles while remaining reasonably accurate.
  • Quiver of the Watcher - Watcher's quiver is formed of infernal darksteel, and enchanted to contain an extra-dimensional space for her to store her arrows and other items.
  • Unity - Watcher's abilities grow stronger when she is close to Ravager, and weaker when she is far from him.
  • Infernal Gauntlets - Watcher can apply the same effects as her arrows can in melee combat with her gauntlets.
  • Infernal Arrows - Watcher can fire arrows to produce a variety of powerful magical effects.
    • Elemental Arrows - the arrow is charged with an infernal variant of elemental energy, ranging from minor pinpricks of energy to explosive bursts with great power behind them.
    • Petrifying Arrows - the arrow carries a petrification curse.
    • Paralysing Arrows - the arrow carries a paralysis curse.
    • Nulling Arrows - the arrow disrupts the casting of magic with which Krycis is familiar violently, and cannot be targeted by that magic.
    • Scrying Arrows - Watcher can see as though she were viewing from the arrow itself.
    • Volley Arrows - the arrow splits into a dozen upon Watcher's mental command.
    • Blink Arrows - the arrow travels faster than most bullets.
    • Soul Arrows - the arrow links to the ethereal plane and targets the essence of the one hit.
    • Force Arrows - the arrow carries crushing force.
    • Black Arrows - the most deadly of Watcher's arrows, the Black Arrow carries a curse of instant death. Black Arrows are too dangerous to carry more than one at a time, even within her extra-dimensional quiver, and take time to reforge.

Name:
Sophia Harte
Age: 27
Species: Metahuman
Gender: Female
Nationality: Terran

Synopsis: Sophia was born to a family of moderate means, with two siblings. Her older brother was killed during a terrorist attack when she was in her early teens, and it was that event that inspired her to enter the NPA Academy when she graduated from college out of a desire to help keep Terra safe. A powerful psion, her abilities made her an invaluable asset in the field, whilst her intelligence and leadership skills ensured she rose rapidly through the ranks of the agency. She was and remains a member of the Svalinn collective.

Abilities:

  • Psionics - Sophia is a powerful psion, capable of exerting telekinetic force enough to lift large vehicles. She can also plant simple thoughts and suggestions into peoples' minds given prolonged eye contact, such as "you trust me", "you know telling the truth will have the best outcome for you" or "these aren't the droids you're looking for". These commands can linger from mere moments up to a lifetime depending on how closely they align with the person's normal thoughts.

Name: Rachelle Bellerose
Age: 46
Species: Werewolf
Gender: Female
Nationality: Lutetian

Synopsis: Rachelle is the daughter of a relatively wealthy patron of the Rollin' Bones Casino, and one of the Scions of Aodhan's female pack members. Her mother was killed in conflict with the Bloodstone pack when she was in her teens, and her father showed little interest in interacting with her beyond providing her with financial support out of a sense of obligation. She has put some of that money to use in paying for martial arts lessons with a number of teachers, learning to wield both her own body and a number of different weapons to great effect.

Rachelle has little time for anyone who can't pull their own weight, and prides herself on her deadliness. Where other werewolves might enjoy a brutal brawl, she prefers the efficiency of weaponry in all cases. The cleaner the kill, the better. She collects weapons, and seldom leaves her home without at least five knives and a handgun hidden on her person.

Werewolf Traits:

  • Regeneration - Rachelle heals rapidly, possessing close to true regeneration. Even deep wounds will knit themselves together in a matter of minutes or less.
  • Enhanced Strength/Speed - Rachelle is not as strong as some other werewolves, but makes up for it with her reflexes and speed being far above par.
  • Enhanced Senses (smell/hearing) - Though not an exceptionally outstanding tracker, Rachelle hovers somewhere above the average for her packmates in this regard.
  • Wolf Form - Rachelle can shift into two different wolf shapes. The first is that of a simple wolf, not much larger than an average example of the species. The second is a hybrid shape, bipedal and powerful. Even in this form, she favours speed and dexterity over brute force, remaining fully capable of operating firearms and wielding weapons.
  • Lunar Cycle - Though she must shift during a full moon, Rachelle is otherwise in full control of her shifting. The form she shifts to at this time is the full wolf form.
Standard Equipment:
Rachelle owns a large collection of classical weaponry in addition to her firearms. Most of these are modern reconstructions, forged with modern capabilities from superior alloys. Her skill with each melee weapon varies due to having more training with some than others. She is most practised with her shortswords, greatsword, and staff/glaive.

Name:
Trys Varthil
Age: 19
Species: Hybrid (1/2 elf, 1/4 orc, 1/4 troll)
Gender: Male
Nationality: Terran

Synopsis: Trys is something of a poster child for the interesting results that Westeria City's high levels of diversity can produce. The son of a half elf/half troll mother and a half orc/half elf father, his genetics are relatively unique even for his home. Growing up, his family wasn't a particularly happy one - his parents grew distant, and as a result he turned elsewhere for his spare time. From a young age, he was a delinquent - petty theft, vandalism and graffiti were his crimes of choice, and in a city where murderous rampages were commonplace, he often got away with it.

It wasn't long into his teens, however, when he got drawn into more trouble. Gang fights and the like became commonplace, and more often than not he found himself on the front line. His troll blood grants him a great deal of resilience and strength, enough to toss the occasional car around and soak up a lot of bullets. Since this escalation, Trys has been arrested several times, but usually let off after a few weeks in jail.

Despite his chequered past, Trys isn't a bad guy. His morals are misguided and his expectations of society low, but more than anything, he's an angry kid who often has to blow off steam.

Abilities:

  • Strength - Trys has the physical strength to throw vehicles around like paperweights.
  • Regeneration - Trys heals quickly, albeit not instantly. Most serious injuries will heal in a matter of hours, or in particularly bad cases, days. He can regenerate from almost any injury, up to and including decapitation. His regeneration is slowed by fire and acid.
Family:
  • Mother - Uske Varthil, a half-elf half-troll bouncer.
  • Father - Tanar'ri Varthil, a half-elf half-orc delivery driver.

Name:
Quinn Foley
Age: 34
Gender: Female
Race: Iverian Werewolf

Background: Quinn was always a responsible girl, with the importance of dedication and hard work driven into her by her parents: Fiona, a headteacher and Andrew, an accountant turned craftsman and music-shop owner. Dreams don't come to those who wait, but to those who get their hands dirty. She excelled in school from a young age, eventually going on to graduate university with a degree in Terran literature.

In her twenties, she travelled abroad to Terra for a number of years, visiting Westeria City as well as other settlements along the south coast. Upon her return she took up work as a teacher, having resolved that her... colourful experience across the ocean was more than enough worldly experience to last her a lifetime.

One thing that Quinn has always had trouble with is making good decisions about her partners. After her previous partners have turned out to be variously a drug addict, a professional con-artist and a vampire, she's resolved to avoid dating for the foreseeable future.

Werewolf Traits:

  • Rapid Healing - Quinn heals from most injuries within a day or two, provided she has time to rest and sleep. And eat. Ravenously.
  • Enhanced Strength/Agility - Quinn's slight size and fondness for loose-fitting clothes bely her strength. In human form she has the strength to heft a car, albeit not without great exertion, and she won't be throwing it around at all.
  • Enhanced Senses (Smell/Hearing)
  • Wolf Form - By great contrast to her human shape, Quinn's wolf shape is truly enormous, rivalling that of her second cousin Desmond for its sheer bulk and power.
  • Lunar Cycle - Quinn is forced to transform during a full moon, but otherwise her abilities are unaffected by its phases.

Name:
Connor Foley
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Race: Iverian Werewolf

Background: Unlike his elder sister Quinn, Connor by nature is a creature of whimsy. Growing up he always had something of an aversion to hard work, preferring to stick to things that came naturally to him. Music was one of those things - after starting to take guitar lessons, he picked up the instrument very quickly, throwing himself into it far more than he ever did his schoolwork. In later years he went on to learn bass guitar as well, in no small part due to there being a lot higher demand for good bassists in bands than guitarists.

In an attempt to teach him the importance of hard work, his parents arranged for him to spend a fair number of his Saturdays working for his second cousin Brendan, helping with his handy-man business (with his guitar held hostage). Though he initially loathed the idea, Connor eventually got used to the deal (in no small part helped along by the extra spending money) and actually began to enjoy the work, thanks in part due to Brendan's fairly laid-back attitude (and in later years, the beer he smuggled him). Miracles would never cease.

Though he graduated high school with decent grades, Connor has yet to do anything with them, instead making a living with Skye's band as the bassist/backing vocalist. His parents do not approve.

Werewolf Traits:

  • Rapid Healing - Connor heals from most injuries within a day or two, provided he has time to rest and sleep.
  • Enhanced Strength/Agility - Like his sister, Connor is a lot stronger than his appearance would suggest. He's not quite as strong as Quinn, but can still pack quite the punch.
  • Enhanced Senses (Smell/Hearing)
  • Wolf Form - Connor's wolf form is reasonably large, but not anywhere near as big as his elder sister's.
  • Lunar Cycle - Connor is forced to transform during a full moon, but otherwise his abilities are unaffected by its phases.

Name:
Kenji Kokuro
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Race: Losenyu Human

Synopsis/Bio: Kenji is the youngest of the Empress' siblings, but in some ways his value to the family is second only to the Empress herself. At a very young age, Farseers in service to the Emperor were able to determine that Kenji was Spiritborn, a rare form of spirit-channeller often found in the Imperial bloodline at least once per generation. Since that day, his purpose was predetermined. Amongst the nobility, tradition dictates that Spiritborn are utilised as silent, subtle warriors - the hands of their houses.

This is no different for the Imperial house. A well trained Spiritborn can protect the Imperial family from all manner of plots, and though it is rare their skills are required, they are always kept well honed. Kenji has, however, chosen to take certain ... liberties with his prowess. Whilst most Imperial spiritborn are seldom exposed beyond their training, Kenji uses his abilities to venture into the city several times a week, acting as a vigilante and a secretive hero.

Abilities:
Spirit Channelling: Kenji carries a lesser celestial spirit, granting him aspects of the powers of a farseer (local precognition and enhanced perception), webwalker (limited spiritual telekinesis) and shieldbreaker (enhanced physical strength and dexterity).

Equipment:

  • Starknife - A blade forged from the ore of a meteorite, and thusly charged with celestial spirit energy, making it difficult for a Webwalker to manipulate.
