Stahlhiem: College of Magic (Rebooted!) IC

Tashunka - Dueling Hall

Tashunka Stepped into the ring and focused on the skeleton. Summing his magic Tashunka sent a fireball at the skeleton setting it on fire. Although it looked awesome Tashunka knew that was the wrong spell, so he focused again and this time produced a bolt a pure orange magic that broke the burning skeleton apart. Smiling a little Tashunka left the ring, exited to learn more.

Coro-Dueling Hall

Coro steps into the ring clearly excited to try the new spell after seeing what it does and takes aim at the skeleton and fires a light green bolt at it.

Thal saw Coro going to attempt her shot, and he figured that he would now attempt to kill two birds with one stone. When Coro aims he discretely uses his nature magic on Coro, with the intention of changing her aim just ever so slightly. When she fired the Arcane Bolt had missed the skeleton ever so slightly, striking the magical shield. However the shield that was supposed to absorb the blow, bounced the blast back into the crowd, straight towards Audrey. With the blast having unusually bounced off the shield, Borghild only had a second to react and seeing as she had used most of her magic to continuously resurrect the skeleton, she quickly jumped in front of Audrey, taking the powerful bolt directly to her back, rendering her already tired body limp and unconscious.

The students began to scream and panic as their teacher fell. The Verdantkin guards quickly grabbed Thal and pulled him away from the crowd as the Void Born guards quickly rush to the Death Master's aid and to herd the students into a safe distance away from the scene, with two grabbing Coro's arm to make sure she doesn't try anything else. As all this happen, Thal smiled ever so slightly from behind his armed guards.

Borghild, Thal, Various 1st Year students, Void Born Guard - Dueling Hall

With Borghild now down, the Void Born guards forced the students back, to give the teacher some air. The students were all pushed into the hallway where they were told to wait, all except for Coro for she was deemed the perpetrator of this horrible act. One of the Void Born walks up to Coro with halberd in hand and lifts up her head to make sure she stared into his cold, unblinking eyes.

"What have you done?" He asked with a threatening growl.

----------

Outside the guards kept the students calm enough and, more importantly, under control as they investigated the event. One of the Void Born calls out to the group of 1st years, speaking over the loud murmuring of the crowd.

"Students! Please resume your daily activities. as of now you are released from class and are being told to resume your daily activities. We shall get this entire thing sorted out, and taken care of."

One student, a freckled borderman girl looks around the large crowd as it slowly disperses and she took this opportunity to wriggle around the crowd to the the only Alttanin in the 1st years. She pokes the dragonman in the back before speaking. "E-excuse me sir? O-Or ma'me. Can I speak with you please?"

Simon - Outside Dueling Hall

As the Teacher fell Simon could see a wicked grin upon the verdant-kin prince's face. He gives a look of worry to Coro as the void-born take her away but truly his focus was on not losing the prince in the crowded hall way. When he sees the prince leaving with two armed guards Simon does his best to quietly follow them.

Simon - Hallways

Simon follows as stealthy as he can hunched over to try not to make much noise. His back against the wall. Leaning over corners to see what might be over them. What he didn't expect however is that he looked like a crazy person trying to follow someone and that Thal's escorts were experienced guards. Simon leans over another corner and to his surprise makes eye contact with a heavily armored man "You there, boy" the man shouts. Simon jumps slightly and leans against the wall for support then sighs thinking over a strategy. He rounds the corner and makes his way meekly over to the verdant kin prince. "It is an honor Sire" He bows to the prince keeping his head lowered until spoken too.

Coro-Dueling hall

Coro stands still shocked at the events that have occurred until one of the void born forces her to look up at him but stays silent unsure of how to answer the question. "is she alright..?" Her question clearly referring to the teacher. coro finally notices the two void born at her side and begins to feel trapped. "could you.. let go... please?"

Audrey - Stahlhiem City

Audrey slips away during the confusion. The turmoil of a second attack on a teacher has thrown the school into chaos. The calamity allowed her to leave the school grounds without a void born. She didn’t care. She simply walked out. The crowd outside the gates allows her to maneuver into it. She walks listlessly. Eyes half closed.

She wishes her mind was under a fog. Instead she played the events of the mugging and both attacks on Master Wijk. The memories came together and feed off each other like a snake eating its own tail, or a fast-moving river whose source is its mouth. In the feed, Prince Thal turns into the mugger and Mater Wijk becomes Audrey. The weight of her helplessness is a boulder on her chest. Slowly it is grinding her down

Audrey doesn’t guide her feet. She lets the stream take her. After hours of walking her feet ache. She would normally realize her school shoes are not made for long walks. Blisters form and pop.
Early evening finds Audrey standing in front of the Tea House. She walks in to find the place packed except a table by the window. She walks over and sits down.

The woman with eyes the color of uncut emeralds approaches with kettle and cup. Audrey wanted to flee but her feet hurt. The smell of the green tea wafts towards Audrey. She inhales the scent as if it were sanity in cloud form.

The woman introduces herself as Lily. Lily talks of things that have little bearing to you listeners. She talks for minutes or maybe an hour. The softness of her voice and the lack of needing to talk bring Audrey back.

Audrey settles back into herself, and smiles a sad little smile. She reaches into her purse and pulls out an unknown quantity of gold coins. She sets them on the table and walks out.

She made her decision.

Parpar was annoyed by the day, to say the least. He was right when he told Audrey they (And Tash, of course, though his taste in food might make him more insane) were the only sane ones in a sea of madmen. Every other student seemed to want to do a very irritating and showy demonstration of their abilities, and their conduit. Mikda's transformation was an unexpected suprise, one that explained her young body, but it only added onto the fact that most of these people should have been locked up for society's safety. He waited until the end of class to hand in his conduit, the eight foot staff cut down to six and a half with circular turquoise endcaps. It was simple, legal, and effective, everything he would ever need.

He shuffled along to the dueling hall towards the rear of the twenty students, trying to avoid the craziest of the lot and making sure not to be picked on for any demonstrations. A few students went, then one of the crazies. He was more alert as she stepped up to sling, just in case, when he noticed Thal making subtle movements near him. The next few seconds were surreal, the bolt reflecting off of the absorbent barrier, Master Wijk's quick move to protect the students, and the Void Born just as quickly moving to usher the students out.

He moved with the crowd before wandering away, trying to get to slip away to his room. He only came back into the moment at the poke of a Borderman girl.

"Excuse me?" Parpar narrowed his eyes at the girl, annoyed at her question. "Ma'am? Can you not tell that I am- No, you're a Borderman, aren't you?" He resisted the urge to continue to shout her down, and calmed himself. "My name is Parpar, and I'm a male. What do you want?"

Emi -Hallway-:
*I watch as this all goes down and keep my eyes on Thal not letting him leave my site as I watch simon follow him* What is he doing? *I follow close behind discreet and unnoticed as I round the corner only to see them beckoning him forward and then stride past him and straight up to Thal* "Hey...Your highness" *I do an actual bow at the waist, then peek up with one eye* "how was that?"
I continue to stare at him as he looks down on me heat building in my cheeks* "Sorry if I interrupted~ BUT...Not really I just wanted to say...*I chock on the word 5 times before getting it out* Sorry..." I stare at him waiting for him to comment.

Thal - Hallways

The Verdantkin's bodyguards kept Thal safe, walked in front of the young man with their hands on their weapons. In the meanwhile Thal watched as Emi does her cringeworthy performance. He remembered what she did to him and to comment, he gave her a hard slap across the face with his uninjured hand, strong enough to leave her blushing cheek even redder then it was before. Satisfied with his retribution against Thal motioned his hand for one of the guards to pick her off the ground and hold her. As the bodyguard obeyed, he addresses Simon with disdain.

"What makes you think you are able to simply walk up and speak to me in such a manner. If I wanted to be brown nosed I would've returned home where my wealth and my dignity lies. Since you are here, it can't be helped. Speak or I shall have my guards cut out your tongue."

Void Born - Dueling Hall

The Void Born who led the others, a golden eyed Void Born named Ortwin Hetz, looked at Coro, then at downed Master, then back at Coro. He couldn't believe that his girl would do such a thing. She didn't look the part, but still he couldn't let this go. Attacking a master is a offence punishable by expulsion from the College., and if the teacher were to die, then the punishment would, at the very best, execution by hanging or at the very worst, execution by flagellation. Still he needed to respond to her question. He simply uttered a simple. "No."

Elva Rinder - Hallways

The Alttanin was more intimidating then she originally thought. Still she cleared her throat and continued with what she wanted to say. "I'm sorry for being a bit of a snoop, but my name is Elva Rinder and I want to learn more about your culture and the culture of Alttanins in general! See my father is in a mercenary regiment known as the Ironbreakers and they travel all around the world looking for treasure and adventure, and whenever he returns he always shared with me stories of all the cultures and people he met through his travels and the stories I always liked were the stories of the Alttanins and Dragons. So umm...to stop me rambling, I guess I wanna ask is...mind if I follow you around and ask some questions?"

Simon - Hallways

Simon flinches as a slap resonates in the hall and makes quick eye contact with Emi before looking away. "My apologies sire" Simon says head still bowed "I just heard from gossip that you were a prince and" Simon falls down kneeling with his head down "I just wanted to apologize for what happened last week I had no idea that you were royalty Truly I should have known from your great and awesome power. I'm sure you had good reason for what happened and hope that we can get along though I know I am unworthy. I know that I have offended you and if you need anything from me though I doubt I can be much help I am willing to do anything for your forgiveness."

Tashunka - Hallways

Tashunka couldn't believe what he saw in the dueling hall. He couldn't believe anyone would hurt a master, that would get you expelled from the College. Although Tashunka saw Coro cast the spell he was not positive that things were as they seemed. Leaving the group of shocked students Tashunka looked to find Parpar, so he could discuss what had just happened with someone, but when he found him talking to some girl he wint off on his own to find a place to think.

As Tashunka made his way from the group he couldn't help but overhear Thal and some other students. Following the sound Tashunka found Thal and two of the other students, one of them seemed to be bowing before the prick. Hmm, Tashunka thought to himself, maybe Thal is using them to do something evil. Maybe these two are his pawns, but what about earlier, that was all probably a hocs to cover up their evil partnership to destroy this school from the inside. I don't know what is happening in this school, but I am pretty sure that douchebag is involved somehow. Staying in the shadows Tashunka listened to what this triumvirate was plotting.

Emi -Hallway-:
*Forces guards behind me with a swipe of my staff after breaking free and wrapped them inside a rope of gold unbreakable my any but the counter spell only I could speak* I dusted off my clothes and stood on my own two feet and wait till I feel the sting of the wound before drawing a dagger and impaling the bruise that formed and watch my blood pool in the white rose at the top of my staff* "Now that was petty" *I say as i draw a circle I'm my blood around me and watch as it glows blue* "I can't believe I bowed to you...?That I tried?!" My eyes burn as they take on a Hard red And the Iris of my eyes burns gold I direct The pain inducing incantation at the guards until they withered into themselves and were mere skeletons with charred flesh attached *A growl rips from my throat* "This is what I am..." I turn to look back at that and Simon smiling* "...sorry"

Audrey- Infirmary

Audrey sits on a bed and watches the healer apply salve to her feet. Audrey was a fool to walk the city unaccompanied and the gate guards made it clear the Headmaster's displeasure.

"Is the school" Audrey asks the healer "always this chaotic?"

Rilker, Thal - Hallways

Thal couldn't believe that such a weak child could do such a thing to two of his elite bodyguards, but he didn't have to believe such a feat was possible when he sees the Master Fire Mage walking towards them with his eccentric smile and clapping as if he's seen a wonderful play. "Bravo! Bravo! Such a wonderful performance!" He commented. He walks up to the children as Thal backs away, rightfully terrified at the pyromaniac. "But we shan't be playing the halls. It gives the servants more work to clean up." With a wave of his hands the small fires erupted from the corspe's chests, before consuming them leaving nothing left. Thal realized that it wasn't Emi who killed his guards, but the Fire Mage, drying up their bodies with internal flames. "Now run along my dear prince. Run to your uncle and cry about how you were once again humiliated by filthy round ears." Rilker mocked

"You-You'll pay for-" Said Thal before Rilker interrupted him

"Pay for this humiliation? This murder? This Disrespect?" Rilker said and he walks uncomfortably close to Thal, caressing the Prince's cheek with a crooked thumb as the prince looked ready to burst into tears, as even the man's thumbnail emulated with an unnatural heat ready to unleash a torrent of flames. "My boy I can come up with a thousand words that can end that sentence but I can also think of several actions that would fit it just nicely. My favorite would be the one where you leave and learn to respect your classmates and teachers. Do you agree?" He asks, and Thal gulped before nodding in agreement. "Good. Now prove it." Rilker ordered, as the smile turns into a commanding scowl. Thal looked at Emi and Simon before choking on his words.

" I...I'm sorry and I accept your apology." He said before looking at the fire mage. Rilker's smile returns before patting the boy on the shoulder, letting him run off to whatever tree that he was housed in. He turns to the two students who were with him. "Now my dear students, can I help you? Or will you be on your way.

Eponia Haran - Infirmary

The Master Life mage looks at the girl after her strange question, but he answered honestly as he would to another Britannian. "Depends. I much perfer the countryside. My mother was a farmer, my father was a farmer, my brother is a farmer, my sister is a farmer...It was not a very exciting life but at least it makes sense. But during my stay here in this country, the Border Empire, I've come to learn that...many things happen here and some will not make the most sense, but the Bordermen are resilient folk, and they will always find a way to keep on living."

Mikida- Hallways

Coming out from her invisibility, Mikida appears beside Rilker with her typical nonexpressive demeanour. Yawning, "You know. That is a really good way to start a war." Although her words seem to condemn Rilker's actions, Mikida breaks character, smiling slyly "But then again, maybe I shouldn't have helped. I quite liked the expression Thal made when he thought his guards could be taken by little Emi." Turning a shade concerned, "Oh, but don't let him know that was me. I still want to try to stay on his good side for now." Referring to Rilker, "Master, do you need me for anything else?"

Rilker - Hallways

Hearing the girl address him, the man turns to look at the student. He didn't have much of a reaction. She was rather unimpressive, but he did take some of her words to heart. He did know what he did could start a small scale war between the province and House Rando, but in the long run he didn't care. More bodies meant more need for his talents, which meant he would be allowed to burn and burn to his heart content. Still he knew a war with old Arnest would make the man rather grumpy so he simply walked away, quietly giggling to himself at how much fire he could spread if war were to erupt.

Ortwin Hetz - Dueling Hall

The Void Born couldn't wait for an answer any longer. He ordered two of the Void Born to grab her by both arms and take her to the barracks while he and the others prepare to take the injured Borghild to the infirmary. After a minute of quick minute of walking they reached the barracks and the first thing they did was to lock Coro in one of the barrack's cell. Ortwin looks at one of his men and gave him an order.

"Call the Headmaster to the Barracks. He will want to hear about this."

Simon - Hallway

Simon's face turns red at the sudden crowd that he thinks more than likely had seen his embarrassing performance. He tries his best to cover his face with his hair and nods his head in gratitude to the fire mage then nods in acknowledgement at the small child he was already suspicious of. Simon then turns to try to hurry away from the encounter thinking how mortifying this situation was and hoping his actions with Thal would not spread too much

Tashunka - hallway

Tashunka was disappointed that nothing valuable came from his spying, but he did get to see the Master Fire Mage in action. After the group seemed to disperse Tashunka walked off to find the Master Fire Mage again, this time to talk with him about fire magic. It took Tashunka a while to find the Master again, but he eventually did. "Excuse me Master, I was wondering if you could answer some questions I have on Fire Magic," Tashunka asked the Master Fire Mage.

Coro- Inside a cell
Coro allows the voidborn to escort her to a cell without a fight and sits in it reflecting on what happened and the possible consequences. 'What are the chances of us being killed if she dies...?' 'Likely' 'Ah....Ok that's great.... think we can escape from here?' 'No not with all the guards on the school grounds and its doubtful we could get very far if we did.'
'So what we just sit here and wait then?!' 'Yes and if it turns out that we are to be executed then we will have to find the right moment and try to escape and hope we can get away.' 'Fine... lets just hope it doesn't come to that.. I hope i didn't kill her she seemed nice..'

Audrey- Audrey and Mikida's room

Audrey gently folds her Father's letter. She closes her eyes and breathes in deeply. Thoughts that once acted as wild horses now slowed. She feels a weight slowly removed. Father was always just. She understands her family's need to remain detached.

She burns the letter. Family comes first.
