Forest Faerie
When the man spoke again she looked at the smaller device, water was this 'leather', it looked like the same stuff the clothes were made from. Was he describing the material, regardless she took a moment to process the picture and the word he said before speaking. She pointed to the picture of clothing on the computer screen, "Leather?" Agape looked pleased with herself as the smaller device beeped registering the word as correct with the same image it had produced before. She was learning quickly, though she wished there was a faster method, but, nothing could be done about that at the moment so she'd simply have to make due.
When the man spoke again she blinked, she had said it correctly yet it sounded different when he said it. She didn't quite understand why he had changed the words but settled for leaving it be."Clothes chose-en." She nodded successfully mocking him, he was a good teacher. Her grandfather would probably have passed out from shock in learning that those children's fables were true. When she thought about it her people as a whole would have been shocked. When he said a new word she looked at the device, "Mor-ing Arriv." The pronunciation was a bit rough but she had the jist. From what the pictures had shown she assumed that once the sun rose the clothes would come, not that she minded but she did wish to get out of her own.
Agape's eyes flicked from the device to the man as he yawned, was he tired? Xolmeanian's slept like humans, a lot of their actions were similar though Agape wasn't aware. But nights on the planet were filled with bright glow in the darkness, from the lake trees and sometimes the animals. This place she was in the night sky looked a little darker to her. She wondered what the man felt in the moment, would it be rude if she decided to peek into his emotions? It had become obvious to her that the customs here were different. If she knew how she thought she would ask permission, but settled for waiting until she could communicate better to peek into his mind.
Her mind had trailed off and she had been staring off for a while until she felt his eyes on her, seeing him eye her she smiled and looked up at him kindly. It had registered then to her that they hadn't exchanged names. She wondered if it would be easier to communicate if they were aware of it. Agape smiled and pointed to herself, "Agape Meihiri." Her own green eyes bore into his determined to get past the obvious language barrier they had. She pointed her finger at herself again, "Agape." After repeating her own name in hopes of introducing herself she thought she might hug him, her people did so as a greeting so she thought no harm. Feeling this was the right course of action she went to give him a small hug, "Onit." She was aware he wasn't familiar with the word but she had responded with a hello of her own when they first met and he waved at her, so hopefully, if his memory was good he wouldn't be too confused.
