"Never been one to brown-nose. Not my style," McCoy simply said to Grif as they walked back to the Recreational Facilities when he remarked about his friend the so-called kiss-ass, "Besides, seems like, for better or for worse, the good people on the Enterprise enjoy my bluntness and have a laugh at my tired expense from time to time, and as they say, laughter is the best medicine."

When Kumagawa responded to his offer, the doctor let out a soft breath. "Right, I guess I wouldn't be able to give you any of it, especially considering how strong it is compared to Earth ales. How about some milk instead? You look like you could afford to have some more in your bones, kid," McCoy said, trying to hold back any hint of condescension in his voice.

Arriving back to the area, where it seemed that a brief scuffle between Elliot and others had just concluded (fortunately, it seemed like the others around were able to dispel it before the need to call security came), McCoy only tiredly sighed, gesturing toward the synthesizer. "Machine's right there if you want something else," he said, before making his way to the bar and pouring himself a glass of the aforementioned Romulan ale. Looking like a depressed old, over-worked man (despite probably not being a day over 32, still a relatively young age in the future), McCoy was the spitting image of defeated, for no real reason.

"War is necessary to get things done."
Vader had followed the group back to the recreation area. Bones' remark did not go unnoticed.

Meanwhile...

Over in the Cargo Bay, a certain Vocaloid was having the time of her life. Swimming around in Tribbles as if they were a giant fluffy mosh pit, Gumi was giggling and chattering happily away.

"You know, Miku loved cute things, but she never admitted it to anyone," she confided to the purring creatures, a glimmer in her eyes. "Except me! Heeheehee...Miku told me everything. We were best friends! I knew who she liked and who she didn't like, what songs she wished she never had to sing again, what outfits she liked to wear in a song...I knew the real Miku, one no one else knew." She paused, then added in a slower rate, "...and she knew the real me."

Immediately she giggled and tossed a Tribble into the air, catching it after. "Don't worry! I'm not crazy or anything. No homicidal tendencies here! But being an idol means you keep things secret from everyone. How you really feel. For example! Gakupo-you know, the purple samurai guy-he's actually super self-absorbed. Just about everything he does is out of self-interest. Crazy, huh? I have a lot of things running through my systems at once. Lors of thoughts and ideas. ...It helps. That way, I don't think of it anymore. Because I can't. Sometimes it pops uo by mistake, like when Elliot went on and on about being trapped and stuff."

She sighed. "What do you think of that guy, anyway? I think Samus is right...I don't know why I keep provoking him. I want my systems to tell me why but they aren't there yet. I'll leave him alone now, though. There's other fun things to do, and I think I've made him angry enough."

Gumi started petting a Tribble in front of her, smiling at it. "I like being alone, sometimes. I like talking to myself. I don't get to do it very often, but I like it. I get to say things no one but me can hear, and feel what I can't out there." The smile faded. "I miss her. I really, really miss her. She never said goodbye. Why didn't she say goodbye? I'm her best friend. She told me everything. Why couldn't she tell me she was leaving? I wanna think she's out there, maybe in a place like this one. But...I don't know. I don't think I ever will."

"..."

"....."

" ............I really wanna go home."

There was a long silence. Then...she smiled, giggling. "You guys are the cutest! You're like Furbies back home, only less creepy. Those things stare into your soul and freak you out all the time. I get chills thinking about them..."

And, as if nothing had happened, she was back.

Rin sighed as she got rid of the tribbles in the cargo bay. Between zombies and tribbles, Even the cheerful vocaloid couldn't but be tired. She headed over to the recreation area while yawning, she didn't even comment on Elliot's fight with Nathen and Gakupo, despite usually doing the exact thing as Sarge, if it wasn't for the fact that she was so tired and Stardust was nearby.
"Does this ship even have any beds or anything to sleep on? Seriously, I'm seeing everything BUT that. What a weird ship, floating in space with teleporters and able to carry so many.."
By now, RIn was aware this wasn't her universe, and sure enough, she was interested in the universe.
But first, she needed to recharge.
Walking in and sitting down on a couch nearby in the recreational area, she was planning to recharge for a while, her batteries weren't the most fastest nor able to keep a charge for that long.
"I'm going to take a nap for a hour, everyone! My wake up button is somewhere and I can try to reawaken, but don't you guys DARE do anything silly to me or abandon me, Got it?"
And with that, she powered down and fell onto the comfortable couch. It was hard for her to reawaken, but she wanted to discourage pranks and things like whipped cream on her hand. She'll be out a while. Do androids dream? One might wonder.

Having safely delivered the Tribbles to where Kirk and Bones wanted them, Kirby waddled his way iver to the recreational area to find Vert. He wanted to play video games with her, byt never got the chance to earlier.

"Hmm? You want to play some games? I would, but unfortunately it doesn't quite look like they are operational at this point in time which is disappointing. Everyone here is in the presence of a Gaming Professional, after all~ Hmm. I think a little tea is in order, again~" Vert exclaimed as she walked over to the drinks section of the Recreational Area, and synthesise a glass of tea, taking a seat at the chairs, gesturing towards the rest of the group that was present.

Spock furrows his pointed brow for a moment as Mizelia makes further requests, specifically to learn more about his world. His thoughts are an enigma, his poker face rendering it nigh-impossible to discern what he was even thinking about. Eventually, he speaks again, in the same meticulous, almost dry tone.

"To learn about the entire history of the Federation's formation as a whole, as well as the races involved, their individual cultures, and the other significant empires at odds with the Federation, would be a daunting task, at least in such a short span of time. After all, I don't anticipate that you will remain in this world for long enough to apply that knowledge. In which case, it would be... illogical to learn about a field in which you could not possibly apply anything to. Might I ask what the purpose for your questions and general curiosity is?"

"If it were not such an illogical concept, I'd even assume that you intended to stay in this dimension."

@Donder172
"You're quite sharp, Spock. I do have the intentions to stay. Which is my request. I wish to stay in this dimension and learn about it. There are quite a few things that caught my attention while here." Mizelia said, her expression was still as it was before she made the request. As if she tried to put the emphasis that she truly meant it and not making a joke.

Meanwhile, as the fight seemed to die down, Sarge let out a disappointed grunt and walked off silently. Normally, he would have egged them on, but even Sarge had a limit when it came to gratuitous violence.

Instead, Sarge made his way through the ship, and eventually he managed to cross paths with Spock, whom he had happened to be looking for after that little shindig with Elliot and Nathan.

McCoy turned to Vader with a furrowed brow, lightly surprised by his initial appearance, but managed to respond to him promptly. "Huh? Well, it hasn't all been perfectly smooth, and we've had our fair share of needless conflicts that we've been embroiled into due to the Federation's ideals conflicting with others, but yes, for all intents and purposes, we've achieved unity with every civilization willing to prosper alongside us through diplomacy. Might doesn't make right, after all. Personally, between the Klingons and the Romulans, any establishment that calls itself an Empire is just bound to fail explosively one day. That kind of isolationism never works well," he said, unaware of the irony of his words that were directed at the Sith Lord.

As Meceliss joined the fray, the doctor had to raise up a hand, as if signaling for the woman to hold off. "Now, let's not get too hasty here. I guess you two are from similar dimensions, and I'm supposing there's some... bad blood between you two or something, but as long as you're out here, it'd be in your best interest to... get along. Think of it as a bonding experience," he said with a facetious, sardonic edge, before pouring a glass of the Romulan ale for her, "Throughout history, alcohol has always been man's greatest friend, and the greatest bridge to unity. It's pretty strong, so take your time with it."

Taking another sip at his own ale, the doctor directed his gaze back to Grif now. "Sounds rough, buddy. I may not know the finer details of your own world, but... Well, if nothing else, I think it's important to at least hold out hope and put your trust in someone else, even if it's bound to be betrayed down the line. Like your crazy friend. You're stuck with him, so you may as well rely on him, right?"

“Rely on Sarge?” Grif asked, sounding utterly befuddled by the mere sentiment. “Uhhh... well see, that’s kinda hard when the guy hates the fact that I even exist, and usually when he comes up with a plan they involve killing or harming me in some way.

I mean... I guess if I had to rely on anyone, it’d be Simmons. He’s the most tolerable on Red Team besides Lopez, but he doesn’t even speak English.”

Spock found himself somewhat perplexed by Mizelia's wishes, as though finding them illogical, all things in consideration. He remains silent for another moment, once again finding himself having to peruse through his words carefully, before finally speaking again. "I see. An interesting proposition, though you must understand, there are many factors you must consider for both parties. To live in such a world not your own would be a difficult process, not just to learn the many different customs needed to aptly communicate, but also to consider the Prime Directive which, if you were not made aware of on the Discovery, is a directive of non-interference with the natural development of other societies, or even individuals for that matter," he spoke calmly, crossing his arms behind his back.

"Yours is a curious case admittedly, as we've never dealt with interdimensional beings before, but it is something we must take into consideration before you'd even be considered to be allowed to remain."

Before he could say much more, it was then that Sarge entered the scene, to whom the pointy-eared alien turned. "I am merely the First Officer, but as the Captain is preoccupied with matters down in Engineering, I am more than capable at this current time to attend to any of your potential needs. Is there something you needed?"

“As the leader of the Red Team, along with being the highest ranking military combatant in the general area, I think it’s time that you and I began to plan against the enemy!

Meceliss nods quietly towards McCoy, yet it seemed to be more than just bad luck. Vader could sense it, this was something that was also personal. Meceliss takes a sip from the ale. "Thanks to the Sith, I lived in what could be said as one of Coruscant's darkest moments. Destroyed the infrastructure, killed millions of people and made millions more homeless." She then said "I only met a few who weren't backstabbing scum, having an ego the size of a star system or just out for my blood. Vader is no difference, Mizelia told me what she had to say. Which surprises me that the Sith even manages to rule the Galaxy with all the infighting going on." she added as last "I have nothing more to say. Because saying more would be stating the obvious." And with that, she took a longer sip of her drink. "I have to say, though. This is quite strong."

"Learn his language then. The first barrier of unity is the inability to communicate," McCoy simply said to Grif, as though it were of little consequence. To Vader however, on the other hand, that conversation seemed to be one that the doctor found a little less inane.

"The Dark Side, huh? Sounds friendly enough, but no dice. I'm a doctor, not a dictator. If the Federation made a habit out of stepping over everything in its path, cleansing what it deems to be impurities, and boasting power bred for war... then we'd become just as bad as the dictators of our past who fell at the hands of their own grandeur and went down in history as a villain," he responded, shaking his head, before looking at Vader straight in the eye, or at least meeting his gaze, "If you're such a man, then I can only hope, for your own sake, that you'll realize the error of your ways before your Empire becomes one of many to fall."

McCoy spoke with genuine conviction, not as a threat, but as a true belief. He didn't even hold any malice toward Vader personally, not wanting to claim to know of his world, and to that end, once again stood between him and the fire that Meceliss seemed insistent on fanning.

"Alright, alright, let's cool it. Even if you don't like it, right now you're both on the same side, and it'd be... uh, illogical to skirmish when you all have the same goal in mind, as Spock would say."

"As I said, there is much to learn of my world. It would be a daunting task, and I cannot guarantee you would even be allowed to remain regardless," Spock simply said to Mizelia, still speaking like a machine, cold and meticulous, but not out of any sort of malevolence. There was not much more he could say at that moment, at least before Sarge poised his own questions about the ship's offensive capabilities, eliciting a tilted head from the First Officer.

"Enemy? I'm afraid I know not of what you speak. Regardless, the ship is mainly equipped with long-range phasers and, if extra firepower is needed, photon torpedoes, but fortunately, it is rather rare that there is any event in which weaponry must be used at all, as a dose of diplomacy is generally what is needed to remedy a given situation," he said, as though deliberately contrasting the soldier's gung-ho attitude with an edge of disapproval toward violence.

"As are the Jedi," Vader responded. "Believing yourself to be the height of authority. You fear that which you can not control and blame others for your failures. You claim yourselves peacekeepers but whose agenda do you follow if not your own?
Hubris will always be the downfall of a Jedi."

"And does your lack of fear imply courage, or stupidity? Perhaps before this journey is done I will have my answer."

"We serve, not rule. We aim for peace, not conflict and selfishless. We seek to stop wars, not starting them. Which if I may say, is that every war with the Jedi and Sith has been started by the Sith. And yet, we have always survived and always did the Sith lost due to infighting. Always so close to victory and then losing their aim and losing." Meceliss countered, ignoring the last part. Not feeling there is any need to answer that.

"Perhaps..." Meceliss said before drinking more of her drink. A moment after "...ah... kriff it. Fine, I'll stop." she said before drinking more.

"I know there is a chance I won't be allowed to stay, but I won't let it hold me down. There is a chance that I can, which I am willing to take. While I do want to stay, I understand if that is not possible." she said with a hint of optimism. She did seem to understand that she was facing the chance to be denied, yet didn't seem to falter because of this but still approaching it seriously.
"So, this ship doesn't see much combat. That's good, in a way. I guess this ship has a well experienced diplomat on board." Mizelia said in reaction, seemingly approving about the diplomacy part.

"Your doctrine clouds your mind to the truth of what you actually are. Hounds of war ready to show your implied superiority."
As Bones spoke Vader only gave him a glare of his own before speaking "I believe we are finished here then." With that Vader walked away to a quiet place in the rec room and left the others to their own devices.
